Ima Runnin'

I lied. I said that I would start today with a juice fast, except when I said that, I wasn't thinking about the run I had set out today, which took precedence. So, I'll talk about that today and start the juice tomorrow.

So, to begin, here are the opening stats:

Weight: 182 lbs (which is a bit better than I thought it would be)

Resting heart rate: 77 bmp (ouch!)

Anecdotally, my asthma is kinda sucky today, but that's because I've had a pretty nasty cold all week.

My resting heart rate is quit...

Fleeting thoughts

I hate it when I think of a really great line and think, I better write it down so I don't forget it. Then I don't write it down and of course, I forget it. Let's put an end to this madness. Let's keep a repository of these lines. I'm sure future generations will thank me.

Rumplestiltskin

Why do they keep calling me Number 6394, she wondered. Where am I? She sat on the cot in the little white room with a caged window, trying to piece together the events that brought her here. A thick fog prevented her from remembering anything. She sighed.

The woman stood up to examine the door which didn’t have a handle. Just then, the room began to shake, causing Number 6394 to press her back against a wall in hopes of supporting herself. Finally, as the earthquake subsided, the door groane...

Goodreads Review #5

Ouch! :) Diannerated it 2.5 stars You know that phrase “Everything but the kitchen sink?” That pretty much describes the path that Dylan Callens took in creating his debut novel, the comedic satire,Operation Cosmic Teapot. Not for the faint of heart, or those looking for a linear tale, God is an employee of Heaven, Inc., along with the gods of other religious beliefs, and of mythology. They are on phones, solicitors, if you will. When the CEO of Heaven, Inc decides he wants God out, he has hi...

Goodreads Review #6

Gabby Kumarated it I got to read this book in exchange for an honest review. From the beginning I was hooked! It was such a brilliant idea to have God work in a call center called Heaven Inc with all the other deities, philosophers, etc. They have God as a psychiatric patient and question him. They want to overthrow God.

This book is fast paced and with a lot of humor. This is a book worthy of a college classroom because I would have loved this in my Religion class!

Goodreads Review #7

James Bizzellrated it 5 stars

Operation Cosmic Teapot starts from an awesome premise: Heaven Inc. At Heaven Inc., history’s most prominent philosophers are the executives of mankind’s universe. They control the careers of mankind’s deities, who are basically customer-service reps. God is just another one of their employees, burned out and disillusioned by the humans who call upon him for support.

The premise makes a lot of sense, if you think about it. Innovative thinkers like DaVinci, Einstei...

Goodreads Review #10

Jay R.rated it 5 stars Shelves:e-book "Operation Cosmic Teapot" is one of those books that I'm really glad I had the opportunity to read; it was such an enjoyable and humorous story. I loved the concept of this book: Gods working in a corporate calling center ran by a board of dead philosophers with Nietzsche as the C.E.O. and Freud as the company's "high" psychoanalyst, all the makings of an amazingly satirical and entertaining book. Kudos and thanks to author Dylan Callens for such a great...

Starting Again

Growing up, I never really bothered working out. I played some sports in my youth but it was just recreation to me. Something that was fun. Nothing more, nothing less. Then, sometime in high school I picked up a guitar and that was it for sports. I spent all of my free time playing heavy metal. Again, it was something I did for fun. The only problem is that this form of recreation didn't have any health benefits.

Fast forward to me as an adult. I stayed slim for the most part, but that's just...
