Cyber Friends
In cyberspace their is a race
Of people who want a different space
Who want to add a layer on
To make new friends not take them home
Some of them just pass us by
Touch our lives, make us, laugh or cry
Others linger sharing stories
Of life or love and other glories
Some become firm friends indeed
Others want to flirt, different creed
For some the magnet feels so strong
However the story weaves is it right or wrong?

jigsaw
I cherish those pieces of you I shared,
It had to be enough, the times we cared,
Propping me up in times of woe,
Helping to fight the common foe,
My knight in armour,
I think maybe not, knight in ardour,
That’s a possible plot,
We never had a future just a here, to adopt,
A mutual need, so no angst or hook,
Sharing our time, like pages in a book,
Learning to grow and fulfill myself,
Came directly from scraps, found on our shelf,
The jigsaw of life more complex than some,
Fitting together, our demons overcome,
Once more the jigsaw of life is tipped from the box,
Lots of the middle retained its locks,
Fitting the stray pieces together again,
With new insights a clearer refrain,
I cherish those pieces of you I shared,
Learning and growing my jigsaw is prepared.

Healthy kick
Calm sea
Cloudy sky
Walking free
Would rather fly
Long hike
With beautiful views
Feet don’t like
Blisters, bad news
Healthy kick
Doing my bit
Unfortunately mthink I need a stick
Shouldn’t have stopped, must admit
Now Stiff muscles
Hobbling now,Oh the pain
No more hustles
Where’s the gain
Blue sky
Calm sea
Tomorrow will a deckchair
That’s for me.

Learning to be
Learning to be,
Can be hard you see,
Life teaches us early who we are,
Can make us doubt ourselves, makes lasting scars.
If we focus on others judgements,
The negatives, can stunt our circumference,
Told you are no good at that,
Are ugly, stupid that’s a trap.
Learning to be the person, that fulfills their own potential,
Can be hard, if we believe we can’t be successful,
We are duff at sums, we have no charm,
We can’t attract a mate, communication causes alarm.
Living with the mantra of negativity,
Becomes a self fulfilling prophecy,
Yet each of us in unique,
Why do we have to follow the herd,or be the freak?
Learning to be, can be hard,
Some never manage, they keep their marked card,
Others start to realise, they like their self,
Gain confidence, count their strengths, grab life itself.
Learning to be, is easy for some,
They have self love and confidence from day one,
Get positive feedback, grab the day,
Breeze through life, like through a holiday.
From where ever we start,
It’s important to be, all you want to be,
Start with caring for you, seeing the good,
Celebrate your achievements, search out the dead wood.
Each of us is unique, and deserves to live life to the full, before they die,
Aware of who they are, shining brightly in the sky.

Candy
You’re the reason for the smile that is permanently sitting upon my face
When I’m with you my arm is always reserved, so you can take pride of place
When we walk these streets
I care not for my own style and grace
Whenever our eyes meet, when we touch base
I know it’s all worthwhile
See my smile
I think to myself, you’re my arm candy
My cotton candy
My candy coloured crush
You’re my favourite sugar rush
I never need a bag of pick n mix with you
You are always sweet enough

Ode to poets
I read your poetry with awe
Wanting to read ever more
It warms my heart and makes me think
Never sends me to the drink
Your laid back style
Makes me smile
Your words and thought
So carefully wrought
Can be very deep
Make connections leap
The rhythm and the tempos time
Pull one from line to line
The pictures painted sometimes stun
But that means dear poet you have won.
