Drifting

Words of love often suppressed

 Kindness taken for granted, unexpressed

Presumption of thoughts, norms and dreams

Seems we no longer talk of schemes

Drifting along feather light

Lack of communication lack of fight

Minds door closed

How to rewind, do you suppose

Need to look and see the whole

Can we clean the windows, throw light on the soul

View the other objectively, eschew control

Or are doors locked tight, welded shut

Will we live our lives, forever stuck

Viewing each other from a place unexposed

Not pushing the gate for a loving repose

Words of love often unexpressed

Relationship sunk into mindlessness

Floating on a cloud

Floating on a cloud, Feeling the charms

Floating on a cloud, Encircled in his arms

Floating on a cloud, Above the abyss

Floating on a cloud, waiting to feel sated and full of bliss

He loves me……not

He loves me he loves me not

I am me I almost forgot

Better to be true to me

Than to try to be somebody else, for him to see

Its so nice to have loving affirmation

But staying true to self that’s confirmation

We walk the path and share the joys

Also the angst that life employs

If I develop and become fullfilled

Meet my true potential, it should keep him thrilled

If he wants to dictate

The total way I operate

Maybe he just wants a woman that meets his expectations

A clone, not a good relationship foundation

He loves me he loves me not

The fog that you left

Mist rising upwards like gossamer threads

Clearing my mind from the fog, that you left

Treading in circles, the pathway obscured

The mist is slowly burning off, a signpost has cleared

Chosing a way to move forward in my life

Tears replaced, smiling revived

I am missing you

I am missing you

Where have you gone

I see you sitting beside me

The link was so strong

Now things have changed

The passion has died

Life is a plateau

Hot tears I have cried

I am missing you

Where have you gone

You are here in body

I need to hear your song

Can we mend fences

In the next phase of our lives

Will we find a way

Or has love truly died?

Events from the past

Frozen in time

Behind windows of glass

In the museum of the mind

Events from the past

Crystal clear clarity

Keeps them alive

But how clean are those windows

From the thoughts we revive

Hurt and misery are etched on the glass

The texture abrasive, a recurring repast

Happiness sits in a golden glow

Romance kept tight set to last

Have some of the mirrors become distorted, with time

Are they covered in cobwebs generated from other lines

Do they need a good clean as we gaze fondly through

Are those memories truly a picture of the past?

Frozen in time

Behind windows of glass

In the myseum of the mind

Events from the past

Making sense of the world

We make sense of the world using learnt behaviour

Filling in the gaps with the familiar when in uncharted territory

This can skew our understanding, make us misread situations, or sometimes be our saviour

Perceptions based on experience

Help form our resiliance

We make sense of the world using learnt beliefs

Adding a layer of our emotions, that affect what we see

Our unconsious awareness adding pleasure or grief

Two people seeing the same event will have a different perspective

In relationships we need to be bias detectives

Happiness Road

Which is the road that leads to happiness

Is the sign post instantaneous

Does one tread a path and start anew

Or should one do a life review

A commitment made has become a burden

Start a new life, new diversion

Where to dump the heavy load

Grief and woe and loneliness

Which is the road to happiness

Ditch commitments run away

Or try to work with feet of clay

Entrenched in doubt, tormented by fear

Need to get the thinking clear

The path to happiness might be nearer than you know

Reach out to a friend in the undertow

Then cherish yourself in order to grow

Life is a circus

Life is a circus

Some would say

Does that mean a dull grind day after day

Or a series of adventures

With new skills to learn

Maybe with some stress to grin and burn

Life is a circus

Some would say

Populated with clowns sinister or gay

But how about the strongman

Or the lion tamer

In a circus there are many entertainers

If life is a circus

What do we see

What does it mean for you and me?

Flying High

Sometimes we explore all realms of being

Life, and emotions it’s totally freeing

Trust that binds us allows for sharing

All ideas pondered our intimacy baring

Expression lands us raw and intense

Ideas unlocked excitingly immense

So many situations and fun to try out

Partners of pleasure no limits no doubt

Flying high on clouds of delight

Spreading our wings with all our might

Making the visions we hold in our heads

 Come alive to our delight
