Peculiar
Deuteronomy 14:2
2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
Matthew 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Today it is harder to determine who the Christian is and who the sinner is. Why is this? Well it is not because the world has given up sin. It is because Christians are trying to blend in with the world. God called us to be peculiar. That means we should be odd to the world. Our ways should be different to them. What reason do they have to join us if we act and do the same things they do. Think of it this way, if you look and act like the world, how are you shining a light to them? You already know the answer. You are not. Set yourself apart from the world. Be peculiar to them so you can be that light to them.

Worth Working For
Luke 10:7
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
James 1:17
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Today we celebrated my youngest birthday. He is about to turn a year old. It was chaotic trying to get everything set up, and while we were working on it, a thought occurred to me. There was a time we prayed for this chaos. There was a time we thought we would never be able to have this blessing. I know my children are blessings from God and they are perfect. However, I also know that those perfect blessings take work. You see most of us want our blessing without any work. We want the easy way. Anything worth having is worth working hard for. I do not care if God blesses you with a steak for dinner, you still have to cook it. If God blesses you with a new car, you still have to change the oil. So know that when God gives you a blessing, it is always worth putting in some work for.

Sin No More
John 8:11
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Everyone who has come to Christ is forgiven for their sins. They are washed clean. They stamp their ticket for heaven. Some hit the ground running and do their best to live a life without sin. Others think they have a pass to do as they please. Christ told the woman who was about to be stoned to death to sin no more. We are supposed to do our best not to sin. We are supposed to live a clean life before God. So, for those who think you can do as you please, Jesus said sin no more.

Fellowship
Matthew 18:20
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Have you ever set down with another Christian and spoke about God. It does not matter where you are. You just get a feeling as if his spirit was there with you. You feel like this because he was. God takes pleasure in knowing that we come together in his name. So be glad and rejoice when you have people who you can come together with in his name. When you are with these people, agree that your focus is going to be on nothing but Christ. Let’s get back to gathering in his name.

God Qualifies The Called
Jeremiah 1:6-8
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
I once stood before a church packed with people. As a young preacher it was terrifying. I thought that I was way too young in christ to preach to this many people. I felt completely unqualified. But as I began to let God take control, it became easy to speak and I was able to deliver the message. I have learned that when God send us and we let him take control, the nerves fade. We do not fear who is in the crowd nor do we worry about what people may think of us. The enemy will try to tell you that you’re not qualified nor are you worthy to speak about God. Ignore it. Listen to God and let him lead your words. Let him tell you what to say. Remember God does not call the qualified. He qualities the called.

The Only Living God
Isaiah 26:13-14
13 O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
Buddha dead, mahomad dead, and any other so called god has fallen. One reigns eternal. That is the one and only living God. It is the God who gave his son for the sacrifice for our transgressions. He is the one who spoke and life began. He is the one who can take a broken heart and make it whole again. You can come to me with false gods. You can say a man setting in an office can save and protect you. You can keep your false God. I will keep serving the living God. I will not put my faith in man. I will keep my faith in God through Jesus Christ because my God is the one and only eternal God.

Worth The Wait
Lamentations 3:25:26
25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
Today was a big day for my family. For the last four years we have had to travel to the cardiologist for my son every 3 to 6 months for echos. After six procedures on his little heart, we got the news today that his little heart is doing good. When we heard the news, a little voice spoke to me. Was it worth the wait? The answer, yes. Every tear we cried, every prayer we prayed, every devastating news of another surgery was worth hearing those words today. You see, God is going to be there. You just might have to wait. Most of us want him to answer the prayers then and there, but he may have a plan that we may not understand. He may be getting us ready for an answer we are praying for. I promise if you hold on just a little longer and keep praying, the answer will come. Do not give up and throw in the trowel. The answer you are seeking is worth the wait.

He Hears The Cries
Exodus 3:7-8
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
God heard their cry and knew their sorrows. You may not realize it but that should mean the world to us. He cared that his people were in torment. He decided he was going to set them free. He then chose Moses to be the one to carry out the task. Today we have fallen under ridicule for our beliefs. Around the world people are falling into addiction. Marriages are falling apart. Recovered addicts are falling off the wagon. God sees and hears the cries of his people. He wants them to be set free. All he is waiting on is the Christians to stand up and tell the enemy no more. Don’t wait on someone else to do it, ask God what you can do to help lead people to the freedom in Christ. God wants to bless us. All we Christians have to do is lead people back to him and all his promises.

Bury The Old You
Romans 6:4-5
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
When we come to God, we are born again. We become new creatures in Christ. We do not realize that a part of us does die. The man we had been dies. We are reborn as a new creature in Christ. The problem is many try to keep their old life on life support. They think if it is there then they can always go back to it if the christian life does not work out. You cannot do this. We are to let that life die. We are to let the past fade away. In this we share a new life in Christ. It is truly time we all pull the plug on our old life and let it die.

On Your Feet
Ezekiel 2:1
1 And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
2 And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
Many people will claim that they are ready for a calling from God. However, when God calls upon them they hunker down because they were mainly just talking. They want to hide from the calling. And we wonder why the world is in the shape it is in. It is because people of God try to ignore their calling. We need to be at a point that when God comes calling we stand ready for our instructions. Get on your feet and tell God you are ready to move. Don’t slouch down and whisper I am here. Stand tall and say here I am God.
