Deliver The Final Blow

Joshua 10:25-26

25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
26 And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

Joshua had just defeated the armies of the five kings. He could have let them flee, but he hunted them down. He did this to finish the battle. He did this so that they could never rise against him again. Now when we are praying we tend to stop when God starts moving. We tend to think we have won, but we let the enemy escape. We have our foot on his neck but we let it off because we see no point in continuing because things are getting better. Don’t stop praying. Keep praying. Keep your foot on the enemies neck and finish the fight. Finish beating the devil down so he can never raise that problem up against you again. If he tries to run off, pray harder until he receives the final blow and can never rise up again.

Water Into Blood

Exodus 7:17

17 Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

If God turned the water to blood today, most would turn to science. Some scientist would come out and declare what happened and try to come up with a solution. I say try because when God does something only he can change it back. Some would stop and think of what the world has done to anger God. They would stop to pray and seek God. However, many Christians would turn to science just like we have on everything else. We think those people have degrees in this stuff so they will figure it out. Instead we should stop and listen to God. We have strayed so far away from him that he could change the laws of physics and we still wouldn’t hear him. People it is time we stop and listen to God. Learn to trust in him again. Get back in his will. We have to do this before he starts turning the waters into blood.

Unable To Speak

Daniel 10:15

15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.

Have you ever been praying for something but when you get the answer, you are unable to speak? Especially when it was the answer you had been hoping for. You just stand there silent. If you have experienced it, you know what I am talking about. It is amazing. You will have tears in your eyes, you want to talk, but you can’t speak. Your heart will feel so full of love and joy. Just stand there. Let your heart thank God because I promise you your mouth won’t be able to think of the words. Just stand there and accept the will of God. You don’t always have to speak to show thanks to God. He knows your heart.

Proud Christian

Psalms 96:2-3

2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

People on social media are quick to put, “I got my Covid vaccine”. They are so excited to show the world that they are vaccinated. Now I am not saying that you are wrong for getting the vaccine. That is not what this is about. I just want to ask, what if people were this excited that they were saved and had Jesus in their life? What if they presented their salvation this way? It is sad that we do not do this. No wonder people think we as Christians are miserable. We will declare everything but Jesus. We should be more excited about Jesus before anything else. We should shout it from the roof tops, “I am saved and redeemed through Jesus Christ the one and only son of God.”

Down And Out

Isaiah 41:10

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Have you ever went through those times where nothing seems to workout? You try everything and it seems like nothing works, even when you pray it feels like nothing is going to work. You start getting down and start wondering what is the use. We have all been there. We have all been setting there down in mind, body, and spirit wondering what to do. If you have prayed about it and truly handed it to God, do nothing. Stop letting the world, your family, your problems, and any situation get you down. You gave all of it to God, so set back and let him handle it. He is going to give you strength. He is going to hold you up. And he is going to take care of everything. He is our God and he never fails. So don’t get down and out. Instead, know that he is God.

A Craving Of Righteousness

Matthew 5:6

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

I want you to think of a day you went to your refrigerator and cabinets for a certain food. It may have been a certain kind of cookies or a steak. It may have been a certain drink that you were dying to have. When you opened the door, it wasn’t there. You can have a million other things in there that are good, but not one of them will suffice. Not one of then will take care of the craving you are having. It will eventually get to the point to were you go to the store to get what you are craving. We should be this way with seeking our righteousness. We should want it so bad that the temptations of the world would never suffice. No matter how alluring the enemy tries to make them, we only want the pure love of God. It is like someone who starts a diet. At first the struggle they still crave the junk food they once indulged in, but the longer time goes on their diet the begin craving the healthy food. As they do this their health begins to improve. They begin to feel better. They begin to lose weight and even their mindset improves. The word of God is the food for our righteousness. As we begin to delve into it, we find ourselves shedding the sins and temptations of the world. You will find yourself with a better mindset toward studying the word of God. You find that you crave your times in prayer with God and that you crave to fill you mind and spirit with his word. So, let’s get back to hunger and thirst after our righteousness so we can once again be filled

The Carnal Mind

Romans 8:5-6

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

You can go out in the world and catch the attention of everyone with a fancy car. You can wear the best clothes and chase after money. You can chase the things of the flesh and give into the carnal mind. It is the easiest thing to do. However, the reward is death. Instead focus on your spirit. Focus on becoming stronger in God. The more you strengthen the spirit, the weaker the carnal mind becomes. You learn to instead pray that God’s will be done instead of your own. You learn to stand back and give things to God. Instead of chasing after things of the flesh, start chasing after the things of the Spirit. Let the spirit control your mind.

Strangers

Hebrews 13:1-2

1 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Have you ever noticed that when strangers come around, christians tend to quiet down about their faith? They do this over fear of offending someone or maybe people will think they are crazy. We need to stop doing this. We should be proud of our saviour. Instead carry on your conversation. God may have led them your way to hear that conversation. That may be the only conversation about God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ they ever hear. They may see people not afraid to declare their faith and ask you were you go to church. If we refuse to talk about God in front of strangers, how do we grow the family of God?

Good or Bad Times

Job 13:15-16

15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
16 He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.

We look to God only when he has something good for us. We fail to look to him when we feel as if we are being punished. We instead turn away from him. We must come to the place in life that we choose to serve him no matter what. If we can learn to serve him in the bad times we will find it easier to stay in his will in the good times. So, no matter how good or bad things get, choose to serve God.

Healed

Exodus 23:25

25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

I see so many suffering from sickness. Whether it be cancer, viruses, or some other disease that is attacking them. We forget that God told us that if we serve him, he will remove the sickness from us. He can still cure cancer, he can still cause the blind to see, and heal anything else that is attacking your body. You just have to serve him and be healed.
