Wait On Your Blessings

Proverbs 28:20

20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent

In life we get into a rush to recieve our blessings. We try to do whatever we can to get them faster. The faithful man will set back and wait on the lord. When we get in a rush, we tend to step on those who are closest to us to get what we want. Stop being in such a rush. Just set back and wait on the lord. He will bless you if you are serving him.

Useless Salt

Matthew 5:13

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

I always found this verse hard to understand because I have never known for salt to lose its savour. So, I begin to look it up and there is a way for it to happen. It has impurities or it becomes watered down. If you are trying to be a watered down Christian, you do not hold that strong savour that you need. If you have impurities in your life then you begin to stray back out into the world. We have to be pure and undefiled before God. We can’t water down our faith or let impurities into our lives. We have to keep our flavor so that we are never called useless.

The Right Side Of Judgment

Joshua 6:22-23

22 But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.

23 And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel

Jericho was destroyed. Every living thing in it was put to death except for Rahab and her family. They had chosen to help the people of the Living God. For this when the walls of Jericho came down and the Israelite army marched through the city, her family was protected. We as Christians need to learn this. God can lay waste to a country, but still protect and deliver his people. He can rain fire and brimstone down on a city, and his children can walk through it unscathed. This is because when you are in the will of God, you are also under his protection. The world wants you to walk, talk, and be just like them. However, if you do this, you will also face the same tribulation as they do. Make the decision to walk in his will. Make the choice to listen to his commands, and not walk the world commands. If you do this, then when judgement arrives you can be spared from the judgement that God can pour out on the sinful ways of this world.

Where Have The Good Men Gone?

Micah 7:2-3

2 The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
3 That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.

Today judges take bribes, politicians only care about an agenda that is evil, and the men standing behind the pulpit are no longer preaching truth. It is a sad day. People have turned to evil and the good people are too few and far between. Men have let their hearts be led by evil. It is time that Christians learn what it means to be good. It is time Christians regain integrity. You know the whole do good even when no one is watching. If you are taking money to take sides, you are wrong. If you preach and teach some watered down version of the bible to keep your church full, you are wrong. If you back a person for office that goes against the church, you need to pray. We are supposed to be the good guys, but Christians are looking more like the world. Please turn back to God and be the good men again. Please do this before there are no good men left.

Reap What You Sow

Galatians 6:7-8
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Today I was thinking back of when I worked my father’s garden. It was hard work but at the end of every season we had plenty to eat. Dad would always show us each seed and tell us what it was and that is exactly what we will get. We never planted corn and expected tomatoes. It’s like that with Christ, you don’t sow sin and expect the blessings of God. You can’t live in sin and then claim that you are in the will of God. We should be planting the seed of faith in people. It is time that we stop planting sin and division. It is time Christians start planting love, truth, and repentance through Jesus Christ.

My GPS

Matthew 2:9

9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

I had an appointment with my cardiologist yesterday. While driving and listening to my GPS app tell me where to go I thought of the three wise men. They followed a star set in place by God to Jesus. Just like me and my GPS, they knew if they followed the star they would go exactly where they needed to go. Then it occurred to me Jesus and the word of God should be our GPS in life. If we listen and follow the instructions he is giving us, we will never go wrong. We won’t be led down back roads that lead us nowhere. We won’t end up in places we should not be. We will only go down the roads God wants us to travel on. So instead of just taken off blindly, listen to your God and make him your GPS.

Peace In Jesus

John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

When people talk about how afraid they are of what could happen, just smile and tell them to trust in Jesus. When people say there is so much turmoil in their lives, remind them that Jesus calmed the raging sea. When they say the need a financial blessing, remind them of the gold in the fishes mouth. Christians forget that Jesus left us with peace. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and calmed the raging sea. His peace is to let us know that even thought there will be hard times, there will be sleepless nights, and so many other problems, he is still here with us. He is here to either help us through the problem or completely remove them himself. So, have peace in Christ and know that he is still here for us.

Best Job Ever

Psalms 103:2

32 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

We all look for that job with the best benefits. The one with great health care and a retirement with amazing pay. If you are a Christian, you have already found the perfect job. You have the master physician, God, to take care of you. Your retirement is to enter into heaven never to hurt or worry again. God can and will provide your every need, as long as you serve him. However, it is not a job. It is a relationship with the one who gave you life. It is you realizing you cannot do anything without him. There is so many rewards to serving God, so why not reap the benefits of being an hier to the kingdom of heaven? All you have to do is accept Jesus and your application is approved.

Living Waters

John 7:38

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

When we submit and follow Christ, we have something different. People seeking what they want in life, seem to be drawn to Christians. That is because the world is a desert and Christians are the oasis that people are searching for. We hold the truth to life ever lasting. The closer we get to God, the more living water can flow through us. The more we pray and become more Christ like, the more people will see him through us. So be the one who leads people to the fountain of living water. Be the one who helps the the sinner find their way to the water of life that is found in Jesus Christ.

Wisdom Of The World Is Foolish

1 Corinthians 3:18-19

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

The world is a foolish place. It will deceive you to believe that you are fine with God. The world will convince you that a little sin is okay. The world can even convince you that you are wise in the word of God. The truth is, if you are getting your information about salvation from the sinful world, then you are sadly misled. The thing is, the adversary wants you to be foolish and believe that you are wise. You become arrogant and tell others that you know what you are doing and in the end you where wrong. Stop listening to the enemy and the lies that the enemy says. If you want to be wise and know that you are in the will of God, do not listen to the foolishness of this world. Instead, study the word of God and pray for the spirit of the lord to guide you.
