in fairness, in THE NEWSROOM’s timeline their takedown of sex & the city was only outdated and irrelevant by 7 years & not the 8 of reality #
the NEWSROOM takedown was ironic/funny for 2 reasons: 1: it was a takedown of the realism of sex and the city relative to life in NY #
2: earlier in the season they did a takedown of takedowns. #
also the finale was about how dumb people think the newsroom is. super meta. #
(don't worry, y'all- i deleted the season pass from my tivo. i won't do all that again in season 2.) #
i'd like to point out that jeff daniels was in TERMS OF ENDEARMENT. #
