“Patience is only a virtue when there is something worth waiting for.”
― The Masque of the Black Tulip
― The Masque of the Black Tulip
“Old books exert a strange fascination for me -- their smell, their feel, their history; wondering who might have owned them, how they lived, what they felt.”
―
―
“Whether I like it or not, most of my images of what various historical periods feel, smell, or sound like were acquired well before I set foot in any history class. They came from Margaret Mitchell, from Anya Seton, from M.M. Kaye, and a host of other authors, in their crackly plastic library bindings. Whether historians acknowledge it or not, scholarly history’s illegitimate cousin, the historical novel, plays a profound role in shaping widely held conceptions of historical realities.”

I have really enjoyed reading your books. I just finished The Deception of the Emerald Ring and thought it was great fun.
Thanks, Sophia! I'm so glad you enjoyed "Garden Intrigue."I hope you have a very happy New Year!
All best,
Lauren
Hi Lauren!I love historical mystery books and enjoyed one of your books, The Garden Intrigue to introduce me to your writing.
Happy New Year and I wish you well in your writing this year.
Sophia
Hi, Mary! Sadly, that's a decision that's out of my hands. The two little things I self-published ("Two L" and "Ivy & Intrigue") are both sharing enabled, so feel free to pass those around!
I have read a lot of your books - mostly on my kindle. I would like to share them but your publisher doesn't want your kindle books to be shared :( It would be a great way to get more people reading your books!
Thanks for accepting my friend request. You are my favorite author! Love all your books, and can't wait for more :)
Hey Lauren~ Thanks for the friend acceptance!! Love, Love, LOVE all your books~ was seriously hooked from the very first one! Can't wait for the Garden Intrigue to come out!

There are two new books coming out this year-- "Mischief of the Mistletoe" in October and "Orchid Affair" in January. Right now, I'm working on the ninth in the series, which is about Augustus Whittlesby, the crazy poet.
I discovered your books last year and once I started I was totally hooked. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful voice! Are you writing anything new?

I just finished Betrayal of the Blood Lily, and it was absolutely amazing. I loved Pen and Alex! I'm excited to see Lizzy in the next book.
Thanks, CJ! I'm so happy that you like Heyer-- I keep dithering back and forth on which my favorite Heyer is. It changes every year!CJ wrote: "I just want to say that I love your books and it's because of your recommendations that I started reading Georgette Heyer. I really like her now!
