I lived with my Air Force family in Okinawa from 1967 to 1970, but I was not able to return. I won't go into the background details, but a friend died while I was there under unsettling circumstances. In some ways, the fact that this actually happened has been a barrier to my writing about it. I'm too wed to the actual event.(less)
