Why can't Batman beat the Joker?
Batman exists in a grim reality and a big part of that reality is the physical toll on the human playing the part of superhero. That toll is inflicted repeatedly by the bad guys he faces and none has been front and center for the repeated toll like the Joker. Why is the Joker so hard to beat?

Don't Look Directly At The Problem
Our species has some special features but people are animals too. In the motor system, we monitor and superimpose on top of many base-level responses our intentions and wishes. By extension, when we are dealing with an issue or a problem, perhaps the best course of action is to not try and directly force a solution and instead allow the best course of action to emerge.

Jean B��liveau: The Dignity and Grace of a True Master
I wore a hockey jersey to my University of Victoria office on Wednesday December 3, 2014. It was my treasured Jean B��liveau jersey. I wore it to honor the life of a great and dignified Canadian, ice hockey player, and statesman who was an inspiration to me personally.
