I Get (more) Copy
I think I've confessed...I suck at flap copy. Fortunately, my publishers do not. Behold, the flap copy for my upcoming hardcover release, the first in my new series, ME MYSELF AND WHY.
"Sweet and innocent with a twist of girl-next-door, Cadence Jones is not your typical girl and certainly not your typical FBI agent. Just ask her sisters, Shiro and Adrienne. (Wait. . .best if you don't ask Adrienne anything.) But it's her special "talent" which makes Cadence so valuable to the FBI and it...

I Return To Age
Well, passed the big 4-0 this week; I can hardly wait to see what the next forty years will be like, because the first forty has been a bit of an adrenaline rush.
Cape Cod was ludicrously awesome and the family is doing well. I'll try for a more substantial blog next week. 'Til then, ciao for now, babies!

I Flee to Massachusetts
Well, the annual family vacation loometh. It ought to be interesting...the last time I hung out with my in-laws, the Borders in Fairfield, CT, essentially ran me out of town (it's possible I'm exaggerating for humorous effect...but not by much).
This time we're all flocking to Cape Cod, which is always a good time (I'm deeply, deeply addicted to scallop rolls from Cap'n Frosty's...not to mention the tuna rolls at Inaho's). So I'll be back in MN on or about my fortieth birthday at the end of t

I Get (a) Copy
So! My editor, the always awesome Cindy Hwang, forwarded me the flap copy to the next Undead book, UNDEAD AND UNFINISHED. Though you guys might like a peek! (Flap copy is book industry-eze for the blurb on the back of a book (or the inside dust jacket if it's a hard cover.)

I Decide To Seduce Al Swearengen
Some exciting news; I've been asked to speak at the South Dakota Festival of Books this October. This was flattering and cool, but I was happy enough to jump at the chance, since the festival is in...wait for it...Deadwood!
Yes, Deadwood, coolest HBO series EVER. I went into mourning for three weeks when I heard it was going to be cancelled. I fervently believed that Al Swearengen just needed the love of a good woman to become less, um, sociopathic.
Anyhoo, I'm off on a mission to find and sedu

Germans Worship Me
Okay, ready for a weird one? Apparently I'm huge in Germany right now. No, not just my ass. First they bought the rights to an Undead book. Then they bought the rights to everything else. And now...they want to make a TV show! So Betsy may soon be heard in German and read in subtitles.
Believe me, I'm as astonished as you are. I AM THE NEW DAVID HASSELHOFF! At least as far as Germany is concerned.
So, for those of you who have been asking if they'll make Betsy a movie or TV show, I've got

I Put Myself to Bed
Sorry about yet another delay between blogs; I've been finishing the edits for my upcoming hardcover, ME, MYSELF, AND WHY. That's my FBI agent who has multiple personalities gig. Great great GREAT fun to write. And I'm dying to see what cover they'll come up with!
Anyway, MYSELF is getting put to bed at which point I can rejoin the human race. Don't say I didn't warn you.

UNDEAD Is Lucky Number 14
Thanks to you guys, UNDEAD AND UNWELCOME is number 14 on the NYT best seller list. I've never cracked the top fifteen before; to say Berkley is ecstatic would be a serious underestimation. And it's all thanks to you bums! So, thanks, you bums. :-)
More about the tour later this week but suffice it to say, I had a wonderful time and talked to as many of you as I could. Also, the same rain storm followed us all over the country. Talk about weird!

UNWELCOME Update
Sharp-eyed readers noticed that my original book tour schedule had me in Dallas *and* Dayton on the same day. Which would have been interesting, no doubt about it, at least from a logistic point of view. A closer look cleared up the confusion, so I've posted the new and improved schedule below. It's cool and drizzly in the Twin Cities right now; some blistering Dallas sunshine sounds just fine!

UNWELCOME All Over The Country
I'll be singing for my supper all day tomorrow; I'm on a different radio show every half hour from 6:00 a.m. CST to 12:30 p.m. Can I be witty and glib for nearly seven hours straight? Hell, no. But tune in if you're a mind; if nothing else, you can mock my Midwestern twang ("Oooh, crap!").
