It’s back to school season #a2Milk, #IC, #AD

This post was sponsored by a2 Milk® as part of an Ambassador Program. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.

I blinked my eyes and the time to get ready for back to school is just around the corner. I was just getting used to summer starting, the back to school season is fast approaching. My kids just graduated from elementary school and will be starting middle school in a new area, in a new state, where we don’t know anyone. My husband, being in the military, got orders to a new duty station and we spent most of our summer, packing clothes, furniture shopping, and moving across the country to our new home. This is a new season for my whole family.

So during this new season of change, I want my children to be healthy, ready and more importantly, have fun and enjoy the Journey of starting middle school. Middle school will be a whole new ball game for them and I want them to be prepared, healthy and ready to face the days ahead. I know nutrition is a big part of this. I started a new tradition with them, during their first days/weeks of school, I LOVE to bake them fresh muffins… nice homemade muffins, to get their day started.

European Olive Oil

Disclaimer: I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.

Whenever I’m trying olive oil, I think they are all the same, made from olives. I just make sure to read the labels and make sure that the oil in the bottle is strictly from olives. After doing more reading about how olives are made and where they came from I was VERY much surprised that they’re is so many to choose from. Let me help you to find the right one for you.

Olive Oil

Did you know…

Extra Virgin Olive oils are freshly pressed juice of olives. It is cold pressed, meaning it was pressed without heat or chemicals. Just plain fresh olive juice! Yummy! Then, which I think is so cool, is a panel of experts tasters (I would LOVE to be one), trained the international oil council test for taste defects and any presence of fruitiness, bitterness and spiciness. If the oil doesn’t have the signature fruity taste and harmonious balance, it won’t pass as extra virgin.

I didn’t know there was so much that was involved in getting the perfect taste of an olive oil. I really appreciate the love, care and work it takes to get the perfect olive oil. Like I stated in the beginning there is so many different types of olive oils. There is Spanish oil it is typically golden-yellow with a fruity, nutty flavor, Italian olive oil is often dark green and has an herbal aroma and a grassy flavor, Greek olive oil packs a strong flavor and aroma and tends to be green and then there’s French oil, which is typically pale in color and has a mild flavor.

Olive oil

My kids and I LOVE olive oil. I made some homemade rolls and we tried the olive oil with Garlic-Herbs seasonings with a little bit of sea salt and dipped it with the bread and it was strong in taste and so smooth at the same time. We LOVED it! I know have a very serious appreciation for olive oil and even how its made.

Olives that are harvested early in the season, late August (which varies by region), are under-ripe and produce oils that are greener, more bitter and pungent. Olives harvested at the end of the season, late November into December, are over-ripe and tend to taste mild and buttery. When storing your olive oil, make sure it’s in a dark cool pantry away from heat and light,

which causes decay. 57°F is the best temperature for storing and Make sure not to store your oil next to the stove. To ensure freshness, consume oil within 6 months from opening.

The Legend of Tarzan movie review

Disclaimer: I received movie tickets in exchange for review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.

I’ve been a Tarzan fan since I first saw the Disney movie Tarzan in 1999, there was a follow-up Tarzan 2 series in 2002 and then Tarzan and Jane in 2008 and a few other Tarzan movies as well. When I saw the trailer for this movie, I thought, I gotta go see this because this seem like a different spin-off of the original Tarzan movies, I’ve seen in the past. I was able to see this movie on Tuesday and was happy I did. If you haven’t seen it, check out the trailer below.

Here is a little summary of the movie:

It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

This was a very good, action packed movie from start to finish. There were a lot of build up scenes but also a lot of action. The one thing I was surprise, I didn’t see was Tarzan not really talking to the animals, I was kind of sad to not see that. They did show that he was very good at mimicking the animals sounds, but I remember Tarzan as talking to the animals, in their language.

Another part of the movie I liked was how they shown how he grew up from an infant living with the animals to a boy and then a man. They did an amazing job really pulling at your heart-strings as to some of the things he went through as a child growing up in the big world of the Jungle.

I also loved how they showed the African villages, it was so beautiful to see and the end was my favorite part of the movie! This is definitely a must see. I was able to go with my girlfriends and they also enjoyed the movie and felt like it was good too.

Go check out the movie it’s in movie theaters July 1st. Check out the website for more information:

God Margin (Planner Review)

Disclosure: I did receive a sample of the product in exchange for this review and post. Choice of winners and opinions are 100% my own and NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

Being a wife, mother of three and entrepreneur can be very exhausting. I learned very quick, I needed to organize my time, keep track of deadlines and especially stay connected with God.

Anchored in God, Planner review

I also quickly realized that, when life happens and you don’t get those deadlines crossed off, its more things you have added on to your list of “to-dos” and its almost like a never ending cycle of “to-dos” lists, with items and deadlines that need to be crossed off. I was always asking myself, how can I EVER get things done, time spent with God, the house cleaned, organized, time spent with my husband, business deadlines crossed off and so on. I’ve always felt behind, always feeling like there is ALWAYS something to get done.

I came across a scripture that really helped me realize that God has everything under control. In Matthew 6:25a & 32b (amp):

“Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life… for your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” In this scripture Matthew is talking about not having to worry about whether you are going to eat or the clothes you will wear, because your father knows you need them.

I LOVE this scripture because its a great reminder that God will take care of us, His name actually means “God the Provider” Jehovah Jireh. I pulled out these particular phases because I want to drive home a point. I gave you an example of just how crazy my schedule, my life can be. Giving God the space, margin in my schedule has freed me from overly striving, always pushing myself to the limit, stressing myself out and not being able to give my kids, what they need from me. I want God to have His way in my life, but if I don’t give Him room to do it, how can He when I’m in the way trying to make it happen. God can do anything, whether I’m in the way or not, but He’s a gentlemen and won’t force His way in my schedule. He’s patiently waiting for me to step aside and let him lead. Allowing God to lead my life, is a lot more stress free, less striving and more freedom to do what He has truly called me to do.

That is why I’m so glad, I came across this beautiful planner that has EVERYTHING, I need for God to be God in my life, marriage, my children and everything in between. This planner was created by Deana, who loves Jesus Christ, She’s a wife to Greg and mother to Madelyn. She created this planner for women (Like me), looking for a way to stay organized and anchored in God’s word.

Anchored in God Planner

There are a few things I want to share with you, on how much I LOVE this planner and how It has helped me in my everyday life.

Achored in God Planner Review

Picture From Website

This planner has saved my sanity and has really helped me organize family activities, my thoughts, ideas and dreams and so much more.

#1– I LOVE how quick and to-the-point, the devotions are with scripture, I can always meditate on through out the day. Which leads me to…

#2– The space to write down my thoughts, ideas and dreams. There are some days I don’t have a lot to say and other days, I can’t seem to stop sharing the goodness of God from my heart, in that case, I also have a Journal on hand to continue my thoughts.

#3– I LOVE the “First-Four section” a section in what she calls a “To-do” list with grace. In this section you write down the first four things you need to accomplish in your day and hold yourself accountable to them. If you finish your day knowing you accomplished four important things, let that be your measure of a productive day.

#4– This section I LOVE how the times are written and spaced out. It gives me a clear visual of what my day will look like. I LOVE to just put down the activities God has put on my heart to do and leave the rest to Him, giving God the space (Margin) for Him to do what needs to be done in THAT day.

#5– The “What’s for dinner section.” In the beginning of the planner, there’s a section called: Family Go-To dinners, this is a tool for you to make meal planning intentional and fun. Creating a list of dinners your family loves, and that requires zero thinking during those days that seem to get out of control.

Another thing I LOVE about this planner is how cute and compact it is. It is small enough for me to put into my purse for on-the-go trips.

Achored in God Planner Review

I’m so glad, I have found a planner that fit my lifestyle of an organized mom, devoted wife and keeping me anchored in Jesus Christ. Giving God room to do what He desires to do in my life. Below is a video of a walk through the planner. If you are interested in this planner, The current 2016 planners are 40% off which is a great deal because there are still 6 to 7 months left in the year to enjoy them. The 2017 planners will be released in late August and will also, be an expanded product line! 2 formats, more color options and a separate prayer journal. One of the planners has 52 devotionals, 1 for each week written by some amazing women of God, such as Christine Caine and Jenni Catron!

SafeSplash Swim School Review (The start of a fun summer)

Swimming, What a better way to spend your summer, among the many activities you can get involved in. Getting swimming lessons is a wonderful way to spend your summer days. So, I signed my kids up to take swimming lessons, which was easy. I was able to sign them up at my local SafeSplash Swim School.

The start of a fun summer

This school was founded by parents of two young children, who were frustrated with the idea, that there was a lack of warm water swim instruction programs, for kids in their local community. As former competitive swimmers, they wanted to give their children a premium-learning environment, with exceptional instructors and outstanding customer service.

This is exactly what I experienced when I arrived at the school. All three of my children were very excited and couldn’t wait to learn their lessons. My one concern was if my youngest would be comfortable with the instructors, while getting lessons. My toddler is very sensitive to people and doesn’t go to everyone. I was very surprised the first couple of days we started with swim lessons, how comfortable she was in the water and with the instructors.

When she started swimming, she would just linger by the stairs in the pool and the instructors, from the stairs, would work with her. During those times, the instructor would show her how to kick, how to blow bubbles and eventually, allowing the water to fall down her face without her freaking out. By the end of the swim lessons my daughter was able to float on her back comfortably.

The start of a fun summer

It is no surprise to me, that SafeSplash Swim School is the industry’s largest premier warm water school brand, with teaching facilities throughout North America.

I LOVE my oldest children, learned proper ways to get in and out of the water, proper breathing techniques and the proper way to swim. By the end of the lessons, I felt like I was among caring, family, that was concern about my children’s well being and our convenience.

My children left this school, a little more confident in the water and excited about the rest of their summer. For more information about SafeSplash Swim School, Check out:

077: Trusting God for the Future

Purpose Driven Wife Podcast

This will be the last episode for a few months. A Purpose Driven Wife Podcast will be on hold, for a few months. My family and I will be moving from California to North Carolina. It is bitter-sweet for me during this season, because I’ve met and have grown so much here and have such a beautiful and wonderful church family. To think, that I need to find that again in a new area, hurts my heart. I don’t want to depress you with my little “Pity-Party”, but thinking about the unknown of North Carolina is a little scary. I came across this devotional book by Kay Warren, that I want to shar with you guys.

Trusting God for the Future

Rick and Kay warren from Saddleback Church, put on a conference last year called: The Gathering on Mental Health and The Church. It was a VERY powerful, informative and moving three-day conference that will forever be engraved in my heart, With practical help and hope for individuals affected by mental illness, their loved ones, church leaders, and mental health professionals, It’s time to step up together and create a pathway to HOPE. It’s time to offer a place of refuge, love, and compassion for those who need it most. It’s time to acknowledge the facts and embrace the millions of people suffering from mental illness everyday. To read more about the conference click the links above.

In today’s episode, I share from Kay warren’s new devotional book: Choose Joy Devotional (Finding Joy no matter what you’re going through). It really hit home for me because, I’m in a position where I do need to trust God in this new season I’m in.

1 Peter 5:7(amp)-

“Casting all your cares, all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all on Him, For He cares about you, with deepest affectation and watches over you very carefully.”

She shares in the book: “Friends, bad things happen. This is earth, not heaven. I can’t deny the reality of all that could go wrong and perhaps has already gone wrong. Bust as 1 peter 5:7 says, we can throw the whole weight of our concerns upon God for WE are His personal concern. We can find the peace that comes from trusting God, and when our hearts are at peace, Joy returns.”

Prayer:

God, I don’t know the future. I can’t figure that out. But I believe you are enough for me today and you will be enough for me tomorrow and the next day. Let my attitude be the same as Mary’s. Let me come to a place of peace. In the name of Jesus, AMEN.
