Alice in Wonderland Review
Alice in Wonderland
There is absolutely no denying what a treasure the classic novel Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll is. As a young girl, I always loved the movie, but had never gotten around to reading the book until much later. Though I’m sure that every living being around has at least some exposure to this tale, I’ll do my best to avoid spoilers.
Let’s start with Alice. Alice is a stubborn girl who always has her head in the clouds. She is adorably sensible despite making wild decisions. Alice is a great character and I feel as if she is the only character that ever could have been written into a story like this and have it all fall together this beautifully. She is hilarious, and appropriately baffled by the things that she encounters in Wonderland. She is also fierce and is quick to point out when other people aren’t being proper. It is amusing to see Alice’s role reversed from one who needs to be scolded to the one doing the scolding. All in all, she’s a classic novel darling, and there is a reason that she’s such a pop culture icon.
The truly interesting part about the story is watching Alice navigate this absolutely bonkers world known as Wonderland. She finds herself interacting with all kinds of people who are in some regard strangely reminiscent of ones that she knows, some good and some bad. Still, whether it be talking flowers or a caterpillar with a pipe, Alice finds her way to politely interact with each and every person that she meets in this bizarre place.
Alice in Wonderland is a classic tale of a girl who finds herself in a world that she can’t quite understand as she struggles to use logic in a place that has never heard of it. The wonder within Wonderland will absolutely keep you turning pages.
Let’s just say that it is a classic for a reason.
Go and read it. You won’t be disappointed.

Claiming Your Passion
Succeeding in an artistic field can seem nearly impossible.
Why shouldn’t it? Society consistently paints a reality where the only way to succeed in art is through chance or by some bizarre miracle that suddenly makes the individual unbelievably famous and successful.
I write books for a living, and I’d like to act as proof that you don’t have to wait on a miracle, and more importantly, that success is what you make it out to be.
The movies almost always get it wrong.
The coffee intake levels are probably appropriate in most films, but that’s about as realistic as it gets when it comes to making a living as a writer.
I’m not here to tell you to quit your job and chase your passion.
Of course, if you have the financial ability to do that, by all means.
What I’m here to tell you is that you don’t have to quit your day job to make art. We love to push this idea of it being impossible to make art or write books without throwing away your crummy old day job and just flat-out pursuing it.
That isn’t always possible, but it also isn’t necessary.
Your job in life is to find what you’re passionate about. That might be one thing, and it might be a lot of things. My advice to you is to find something that speaks to who you are as a person and pursue it under any circumstances.
This does not mean quitting your day job to write a book, although it can.
When I say find it and pursue it, I mean you find something that you love and you do it regardless of what you think might be standing in your way. I’m talking about your crappy day job. I’m talking about the kids. I’m talking about the laundry that needs doing.
All of it.
Life is always going to be there. There will always be something that you need to do, something that you feel might be a more “practical” use of your time, but at the end of the day, you need to commit to your passions.
If you want to know the difference between wanting to be a writer and being one, it’s the commitment.
The chance that someone is going to knock on your door and offer to pay you to pursue your passions is probably pretty unlikely, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t pursue them.
All that it means is that you have to be willing to put in the hard work. The hard work isn’t always going to be spending the hours writing your story, but rather working all day, making dinner, feeding the pets, and then spending the hours to write your story.
It’s hard, but it’s the only way that you’re going to get better, and getting better at your craft is the best thing that you can do for a future career.
At the end of the day, my advice is to pursue your craft and pursue it hard. Get better. Make your art. Do your thing.

Alex H. Singh was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He is single and still lives in the city today, with his cat, Karma, who is a Calico/Tortie mix.
He spent 3 years in University (UFT) and took a variety of courses, including English Literature and English Media. He decided, however, that a career on another path would be best for him and took a position as a Financial Adviser for a well-known and dependable bank, where he has worked ever since.
But it was to writing that Alex has always been drawn, and he has been penning books in various genres since he was 18. He has since self-published 13 books and particularly enjoys horrors, thrillers, sci-fi & Fantasy. He is keen to see what his growing army of fans will think of his Fallen Kingdoms Chronicles Series, The Second Husband and Tapestry Series which are all set for release.
In his spare time, Alex is a big fan of taking short naps as it helps to rejuvenate him. He also exercises regularly and enjoys baking, making old favorites like cupcakes, cheesecakes and other sweet treats. As a self-confessed foodie, he enjoys trying out new and delicious foods with friends, from a variety of eateries around the City.
Alex’ hopes for the future are to keep on writing books that people will enjoy reading and perhaps one day be able to do it full-time. He has already attained bestseller lists on Amazon but would love to reach the Holy Grail of making the NYT List one day.
