I’ve been in a daze the last week or so. Or however long. You never really know, when you’re in it.
A bomb dropped, the smoke cleared, and here I am, trying to make sense of it all, of the new landscape I find myself in. Of getting back to myself, that unmoved rock, and clinging to it for dear life. Feeling the hard grooves on the toughened surface, counting the lines of wisdom, reminding myself that it still stands. That it’s still there. That no one was able to break it.
In honor of that, I’m making a promise to myself to really get to know that rock again, that rock that is my soul. I pledge to:
Write in my journal and meditate every dayTake extra long walks with my puppy (if he’s up for it!)Finish my 2015 Reading Challenge strongStart my next writing projectCarve out some time to discover new music that soothes my soulSo now that it’s out there, I’m accountable. And if you’re in a similar place, now you are too - I challenge you to make a pledge to your rock. May you find it, may you hold onto it, may you thank it forever.
