Crazy EZ Manicotti – #QuickandEasyRecipes

Come on now, Admit it!  You love comfort food as much as the next person, regardless of how over-the-top not-so-healthy it may be.  After all, have you ever sat down at table set with a meal of delicious sauce, lots of melted cheese and pasta cooked to perfection and said “Oh, no thank you.” ?

Ok then, neither have I!  But while we are being honest, there are some pasta dishes that are easier than others, and, as a general rule, Manicotti is one of those in the Not-So-Easy category.  Until NOW!  Don’t believe me? HA, read on oh hungry one

A Humble Request – #ReadersChoice #Award

When you write a book, you naturally hope it will be received well.  You honestly wish people will like it, maybe even love it; and perhaps in the process it may gain some measure of notable attention.  I felt the same when I pressed the publish button on Kindle Direct Publishing in April of 2014 in order to launch my dream Dark Fey The Reviled on its journey.

Today, I have received notification that it has been awarded it’s 5th award.  No, I promise Im not trumpeting my own tune. My point is merely to try to express the amazement and elation I continue to feel as this story that has taken my heart and soul continues to touch others and reach across divides.

Poem: “Brown-eyed Green” (#guestblogger)

It rises in the shadow of the sun,

body larger than a house,

eyes like summer leaves.

Hooves meet the ground,

cracking,

cobwebs set aflame,

nostrils flaring,

exhaling,

walls shaking,

inhaling,

panels breaking.

In the color of summer leaves,

I see brown,

hellish,

but no green.

The gift of being fully present.

When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”  And Jesus said to her, “How does that concern you and me?  My hour has not yet come.”   John 2:34

What was Christ’s first miracle?  It wasn’t healing or raising someone from the dead.  It was turning water into wine.  Christ, at his mother’s request and somewhat reluctantly, saved the host of the wedding feast considerable embarrassment.

Jesus proved he has dominion over time, space, water and wine.  His first miracle was about celebration and fellowship.  The wedding feast could go on for days.  In today’s world, where time has become the most precious commodity, this miracle is about spending time with family and friends in celebration.

The world today prizes speed and efficiency.  If we’re not careful, this can bleed into our relationships, leaving us feeling isolated and alone.  Leaving us little joy.

I struggle with experiencing joy far too little.  I steal if from myself.  I think that once I clear this hurdle, pay off this bill, or get a different job, somehow I will be happier.  It doesn’t work.  The first miracle is a celebration and about living in the moment.  Don’t take, steal, or delay your joy.
