Release Week!
In case you didn’t know, and if you didn’t know, then I have done a really terrible job of keeping up my social media, it’s release week!!!
Coming to you THIS FRIDAY is the third (THIRD!) book in the London League series!
A Tip of the Cap
Isn’t it glorious? I just adore my cover artist so much!I was going to do a release event. I was. And then I had a weekend of nuttiness with family and now we’re in a polar vortex that has zapped brain power (if it doesn’t zap my actual power) and my day job is currently taking a lot of energy.
Maybe I’ll do something Thursday night. Your thoughts?
ANYWHO. I adore this story. I seriously do. It meant a lot to write it, and it meant a lot when my editor, test readers, and publisher loved it.
I hope you love it.
We’ll chat about it in a few weeks when you’ve had time to read and ponder. In the mean time, read, review, and RAVE! (About the book, not rave the party. I don’t condone those….)

Winter
Bundled up as I write this, and I’m basically bundled up from the moment I get home from work until I get up the next morning. I love winter. I do.
I mean it. I do.
Because I love being bundled. I love sweatshirts and sweaters and socks and blankets…
I don’t like being cold, but I loooooooove being bundled up and snuggly.
So tonight I am. And I will be tomorrow and forever until it’s too hot to be bundled.
And I’ll probably be bundled then.
I don’t want to move. Can someone bring me hot cocoa?
If I were a dog, this would be me right now.

Baseball and Agents
If you follow my social media and my newsletter, you’ll have seen some interesting side projects come up lately.
One is a baseball series with my friends Sophia Summers and Heather B. Moore, which is already a RIOT. We are seriously dying over it all. The first book in that series comes out in February.
The other is a series called the Pinkerton Matchmaker series, and my first contribution to that series is called An Agent for Diana. That project was so challenging and rewarding for me, and I can’t wait for you guys to read it! It comes out December 21st, so stay tuned!
I really love to do extra projects. This year I took on too many, so I really need to learn how to say no. Or at least ‘not yet.’ I was swamped for a while there and stressed to the max. The fun of extra projects became more work than fun.
I don’t write as well when it’s work.
Thankfully, I found a way to restructure things so that it all became fun again, and the funk is over.
Until I get stressed to the max again, and then we’ll start all over.
Side projects and bonus projects and random projects are fun and surprising, and I just want to do more!
But maybe a little more careful with the planning… because I have a lot of work to do… as usual.
Hopefully you’ll all think that baseball and agents were worth the work!

SO MUCH STUFF
The last week or so has really illustrated to me just how crazy the writing life can be.
Here’s how it has gone:
Proof the audiobook for #1
Work edits for #2 and #3
Submit formatting for #4
Plot and write #5
Prep promo for #6
Layout 2019 schedule for #7, #8, #9, #10, and #11
Basic plot #12
Whew!
I’m pretty sure the spaghetti of my brain is going to start coming out of my ears soon.
Now, I am absolutely not tooting my own horn here. I know so many authors who are SO much more productive than me and incredibly impressive at managing it all. It’s just been a crazy week or so, and my head hurts. It’s not always like this, but it’s just been one of those weeks. Fun, but absolutely crazy.
Here’s hoping my brain resumes its normal state and avoids turning to mush.
Have a great week, my friends!

Q & A
Yesterday Facebook had some technical difficulties, and not everybody uses Facebook to follow me.
So here’s another chance for a question and answer session.
Before we head into the Thanksgiving holidays, get your fill!
No topics are forbidden, and all questions are welcome. Ask about me, ask about my process, ask about upcoming books, ask about past books, new releases, special projects…
Ask whatever you like, and I can promise you’ll get an answer!
Have at, gang!

A Quick Note
This is a day late and a dollar short, but I want to drop a line.
Thanks for loving The Spinster and I. So far, things have been great with the release!
Have you been following the Blog Tour? Facebook thinks my incessant posting of links to reviews is suspicious, so they’ve made things more difficult, but I shall prevail.
I have been ridiculously distracted this week because my sister had a baby!!! Not going to apologize for my lack of productivity for such a precious thing! I’ll be spending my weekend with my new niece and her siblings, but I’ll get back to my projects next week!
Give me some motivation! I need it!
See you later, pals!

Release Week
It’s release week!
The Spinster and I comes out TOMORROW!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I can’t even tell you how incredible this book is to me, and I am so not tooting my own horn on that. This story honest-to-goodness wrote itself, and it will always hold a very special place my heart. I hope you love it as much as I do!
Now let’s talk about what a Release Week is like for me.
STRESSSSSSSSSSS.
No, I’m kidding, it’s fun. Slightly stressful, let’s be real, but mostly fun. I love having release events online to celebrate with people, and I know that I have some very dedicated readers who will always get my books right when they come out. I am so lucky! The rush of releasing a book never changes!
Then the real stress kicks in. Do people like it? Will people review it? What will the first bad review say? Did I get something wrong? What if sales aren’t what I imagine? What if I’m the only one who really likes it?
See, writers are insecure, for the most part, and we are terrified most of the time. Each release leaves us feeling a little more vulnerable. We get used to it, of course, but all of us have that little tiny version of us inside that’s hiding in the corner whimpering under a blanket.
Then the rush of release fades and we get back to business. Some of us follow our ratings like crazy. Some track reviews. Some are constantly promoting to try and get more readers. There’s no right or wrong, or even set way of doing the post-release letdown.
But it’s exhausting. All of that work and effort, that time and energy, everything, just sets in, and we’re tired to the bone. We could use a vacation after every book release, but we have too much to do.
So we move onto the next project, fall in love with it, and get the crazy, wonderful, nutty cycle all over again!
Release Week is insane. It should come with Diet Coke and cheesecake and ice cream and whatever your favorite comfort food is. It’s a party! Except I’m a bit of an introvert, so parties terrify me, but that’s all good!
It’s a party with YOU GUYS, and that’s the best!
Get ready for The Spinster and I, gang. It’s really special.

A Few Fun Requests
I’m going to let you all in on a little secret.
I love getting reader requests.
I mean I REALLY LOVE it.
There is nothing quite like hearing from a reader that they want a story for a character I’ve created, especially hen it’s one that I don’t have lined up. I love my supporting characters, and I can promise you that I’ve thought about a story for most of them.
I say most because it wouldn’t surprise me if someone finds one that I hadn’t, and I’d hate to leave someone out.
Reader requests are what led to A Bride Worth Taking and A Wager Worth Making. Multiple reader requests are what led to On the Duke’s Errand in the Timeless Regency Collection’s Falling For a Duke.
COUNTLESS reader requests are what led to a project that will come in due course, one that I am dying to get my hands on. And no, I will not tell you what it is. Not yet!
So this is just a little note to say thank you for those requests, and to beg, plead, cajole, and whatever else for more and more and more! Tell me whose story to write! Tell me who needs one! Tell me anything to give me more ideas!
Then I’ll see what I can do.
Because, and this is my secret, I really, really, really love writing stories.
And I want to do more.

About those Spinsters…
I am so ashamed. I just realized that not only did I fail to have any sort of release event for this brand new series and book, but I didn’t even make a page for that book on my website.
FORGIVE ME, MY SPINSTERS!
I blame it on the move, on the conference I attended, and on my general stress level that has been to high heaven of late.
Let’s see if I can make up for this.
The series is called The Spinster Chronicles. There will be at least 6 books. I say at least because we all know how I am with supporting characters.
The first book is called The Merry Lives of Spinsters.
The heroine in the first book is Georgie, widely rumored to be the leader of the Spinsters.
The Spinsters, with a capital S, write a column for London Society on various topics, and they have become kind of notorious.
The next book, The Spinster and I, comes out in November.
Why spinsters, you ask?
Well… because I am one.
Simple enough.
I got the idea for the series while sitting in a Cheesecake Factory with a bunch of my friends (all of whom were single at the time) and the whole thing just came spilling out. So shout out to the A Team for plotting them with me!
And why did I do a bizarre thing and interrupt the London League releases by alternating with a Spinster book?
Because I’m impatient and eager and I freaking love the Spinsters, that’s why.
And I REALLY want you guys to love them too!
So! Comment what you loved, when you laughed, what you’re excited about, any questions you have, etc, and let’s get this conversation going! (We have time… the next book comes out in November, remember?)
