Dress For Success

One of the most important things I’ve learned from working both as a model and as an entrepreneur is that you have to dress for success. It’s like everyone always talks about, dress for the job you want.

Now I personally like to take this to the next level. I don’t just dress nicely for a particular job interview or meeting, I like to look put together nearly every time I leave the house. Lately I’ve been kind of lazy about it, and it’s really started to bother me. I went to one of my favorite restaurants the other day, and I immediately became aware of all the super cute and well-dressed girls in the restaurant, wishing I had put a little more effort in.nikki-sharp-elle-womens-in-tv-event-hearts-on-fireIMG_3205

Look, I’m not saying that you should dress up every single day because you want to compete with other girls. And that’s not why I do it either. Just saying that you might surprise yourself with how much better you feel on a day to day basis if you go out of your way to wear clothes that make you feel pretty or jewelry that adds a touch of bling to your work outfit.

IMG_6031

IMG_6030

I especially like to look nice when I’m heading to events that are networking opportunities. If you wear something that makes you feel like a million bucks, the people who you meet will immediately notice that confidence in you.

As you know, I recently went to the Elle Women of TV Dinner, which you can read about HERE, and I was lucky enough to be decked out in Hearts on Fire jewelry. (Side note: they also decked me out for the Golden Globes!)

nikki-sharp-golden-globes-hearts-on-fire

I’m not really one of those people who gets worked up over meeting celebrities, which has helped me in the long run because I’ve gotten the opportunity to meet some incredible people over the years. And guess what? Turns out they’re just normal people like you and me. But still, when I’m at one of these events where all these incredibly successful women who I admire and emulate are dressed to the nines and receiving awards for being such incredible women, it can be a little intimidating. My insecurities kick in and I immediately start questioning why they would want to talk to me.

Feeling beautiful played a major role in shutting down that insecure voice in my head. Hearts on Fire decked me out in the most gorgeous diamonds I’ve ever seen, and I strutted through that night feeling like a queen. I firmly believe that every girl should invest in some diamonds for those nights when you want to feel on top of the world.IMG_3180

If you’ve been feeling a bit low on self-confidence, then try dressing up. Dress For Success as I call it. Think back to a time when you had beautiful makeup, stunning jewelry, and were wearing clothes that made you feel like a million bucks. You could conquer the world, couldn’t you? One of the easiest ways to get that self confidence back is to repeat this same thing, no matter what the occasion.

Take a moment to look over Hearts on Fire and their amazing new collection for some inspiration. Having learned more from the designer of the pieces, I can genuinely say that I am all about this company, their ethos, and what they represent: female empowerment. Because at the end of the day, that’s what diamonds really do for us… they empower us to feel our best!

With Love, Nikki

LISTEN and SILENT are spelled with the same letters

Did you ever notice that LISTEN and SILENT are spelled with the same letters?

Have you ever had someone tell you that you need to be a better listener? That you should listen to others, listen to yourself, and just calm your mind in order to listen. I know I have. It’s something I also share with you all often- that in order to truly understand what is going on with someone you must first listen to what they say and also “see and hear” what they don’t say.

So how does one listen? Truly listen to what your own thoughts are saying or listen to what others are trying to tell you? Typically, the first step involved is to stop talking, right? I mean, correct me if I’m wrong here, but I’ve always been told that when you are listening to someone, you don’t speak at the same time as they do. That would just be silly. You must quiet your own voice and silence your own ego from talking at the same time.

Ah, Ego. Now we just hit the jackpot right there. The ego. The ego is what stands in front of us and makes decisions based on what it will make us look or feel, or so we think. Our ego tells us these things. The ego is what puts all of these fears and doubts in front of us, and it’s the same thing that gives us courage to do things that we might not otherwise do.

In this case though, the ego needs to be put away, tucked neatly into a corner so that we can become silent. It is only when we become silent in our own minds, actions and voices, that we can truly listen.

LISTEN and SILENT are spelled with the same letters

S          L

I           I

L          S

E          T

N         E

T          N

This was something that was brought to my attention tonight after chatting with one of my closest friends. I have been looking to get away next week, go somewhere where I can be alone and focus on me. She told me that instead of going to some fabulous beach I should go somewhere that is no-frills so I can really become one with myself. To really LISTEN to what my mind is saying. Yet, in order to truly understand what it’s saying, I must first SILENCE it.

There are many ways to silence the mind, meditation being the more common, but it’s anything that takes you out of the constant moment-to-moment thoughts that pass through your brain every second.

I’m sharing this with you all today because of a post I wrote about what’s going on in my life and how scared I am. I am not sure if I have truly taken the time to be present with myself and allow myself to understand what my fears are and why they have come about. The only way I was able to get this post out and be so vulnerable was by silencing my ego which has been saying I shouldn’t share these things. Once I was able to silence my mind and LISTEN, I was able to put a voice to what was really going on.

In doing so, and sharing this very scary, yet rewarding post, I received so much love back from everyone. There was not a single negative or bad comment. Everyone was supportive and filled with love; it was everything I had asked for and needed.

So with all of this, can you take a moment to think about where you can silence your mind in order to truly listen? What has your body/mind/or soul been telling you lately that you haven’t been paying attention to? It’s all there. The answer is right in front of you. All you need to do is create some silence in your own world, your own mind and in your own life, in order to truly listen and hear the answer.

Tons of love, Nikki

It’s Time To Get Real

I haven’t written a post like this in a while, and quite honestly- I’m scared shitless to even begin to write this. Why? Because it’s putting myself out there. It’s showing how vulnerable I am and it’s a pretty scary thing to do when so many people look up to you. Yet, I also made it a point to share my journey with you all when I started my IG account. I remember so desperately wanting to know that people like Miranda Kerr and Gisele had bad days. That they binged. I wanted to know that they felt this way and were able to get over it, so that I know I too, could do it. So, with that being said, it’s time to get real and share what’s been going on.

Recently, I’ve received some comments from people saying how my posts seem really sad on Instagram and that when I am meaning to write something positive, there is a sadness to it. I’m getting questions asking if I’m okay.

The truth is, I’m not. I’m really scared about my future and just like everyone else, I don’t always know what I’m doing. I have a book coming out in 2 months and I am crazy scared about this. It’s the biggest achievement I have to date, yet the most pressure I’ve felt. What happens if I don’t get my engagement up and people don’t buy the book? What if the media decides not to feature me? What if I don’t sell half of what I need to and my publisher realizes they fucked up giving me a contract? These are all terrifying thoughts that keep coming into my mind and they scare me. I realize that fear is a creation of the mind and that in order to get over it, one must focus on the good and everything positive in life. I feel a tad overwhelmed though and I have been letting fear get the best of me.

My life has become chaotic and through all of this, I’ve been looking to food for comfort. I’ve gone back to slight food binges and although it’s mainly healthier options, it’s still a loss of control when it comes to eating. I’m doing it because I need comfort. I need someone to just hug me and tell me it’s going to be okay. I need to cry and admit that I feel like I’m drowning. All of this has caused me to not eat as I should, which has then had the effect of not working out and gaining some weight. So the perpetual cycle continues of feeling like shit, which leads to more self doubt and more fear.

I told myself on January 1 that 2016 would be an amazing year, but the first month royally kicked my ass. I had so many meetings that sucked my energy. I didn’t make money. I questioned what I’m doing with my life. I pondered why I feel so alone. I started eating bad and feeling sorry for myself.

But today is a new day. It is February 1. I sit here on a Monday morning (it’s kind of awesome having the new month fall on a Monday honestly) and I have chosen to stop feeling sorry for myself. I have made a green smoothie for breakfast and had a bunch of water. I’m tired of feeling like shit. I’m tired of feeling like giving up. I’m just tired of not loving myself. I want to be the best example to you all as possible. I want to show that you CAN overcome falling into a black hole. I want to be a shining light that helps guide you into a better life. But I can only do that if I can do it for myself.

I’m realizing that I need to just forgive myself. Forgive myself for not feeling ‘perfect.’ I need to forgive myself for eating bad, for not working out, for gaining weight, and for allowing myself to get to this place. I need to forgive myself for feeling so down. It’s okay. It’s okay to feel lost. We all get there. Forgiveness is the first step in making a change. Nikki, I forgive you. You are loved. You are perfect just the way you are.

Today is a new day. A new beginning. Today is a good day, because I choose for it to be so. I have the power to change everything I want. Just as you do. You have the power to overcome beating yourself up, making unhealthy choices, and not working out. You have the power to make a mental change right here, right now. It’s time to get real with your own life and how you can make a change.

So I share something very personal, very scary, and very vulnerable to ultimately have you understand that you are not alone when you are feeling down. We all go through bad times in life and it’s only natural to get down on yourself and question everything. I do hope that this post makes you understand that what you see on the outside isn’t always what’s happening on an inside level. Don’t make assumptions about anyone, and always remember to ask people if they need some love, because at the end of the day, we all do really.

If this post touched you in any way or you would like to share your story with me please leave a comment below. I would love to get everyone talking and understanding each other’s stories.

Tons of love, Nikki

The ABC’s of Meditation

I recently stumbled upon this article from the Chopra website on the ABC’s of meditation and I couldn’t help but share it. Meditation is something an amazing thing for the mind and yet too many of us have never done tried it. I personally never used to meditate, thinking “this is too hard to do,” or the usual “I am too busy for this.” When in fact, the busier you are, the more you should do meditation and the harder you think it is, the more you will realize how easy it actually becomes. I promise to start sharing more about meditation, as this is a highly requested topic from you all. So without further ado- the abc’s of meditation…

A is for Awaken

Meditation is a way to awaken purpose, awaken health, awaken abundance, awaken connection, and awaken creativity. You can allow your true self to reveal and awaken your pure potential through meditation, including guided meditation or silent or mantra meditation.

B is for Being

To sit and be—without thinking, without effort, without judgment—is the gift of meditation. We are not our past, nor are we our future. Be present.

C is for Connection

Connection is twofold: connection to self and connection to those around us. At first these might seem separate but as you connect to your source through meditation, the recognition that we are all waves of the same ocean deepens.

D is for Detachment

Detachment reveals the great paradox of life: In order to acquire something, you have to relinquish your attachment to having it. When you recognize the only genuine source of security is living as your true self, then you can more easily detach. Meditation helps you to get present and detach.

E is for Ego

According to Eckhart Tolle, author of books on ego like A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, ego is any image you have of yourself that gives you a sense of identity. Ego likes to separate us from others rather than encourage oneness and connection. Meditation acts as a tool to silence the ego and allow the true connected self to be seen.

F is for Flexibility

People with flexible minds are adaptable, open, and resilient. Like bamboo in the wind, they are strong but pliable. Being flexible allows you to embrace your day rather than bracing for it. Meditation cultivates a flexible mind.

G is for Gratitude

Meditation reminds us how everything fits into a greater plan. It connects us with spirit, God, or the universe, and with this connection comes gratitude—gratitude for who we are and what we have. Gratitude has been proven to benefit our physical, physiological, and mental health.

H is for Happiness

Happiness increases when you meditate. Studies have shown that the centers for emotional processing are just one of the areas that change significantly with a meditation practice. People who meditate regularly report higher levels of well-being and are less bothered by aches and pains. This all translates to increased joy.

I is for Immunity

The immune system is highly influenced by your mind. Meditators get benefits to their immune system’s function, including increased antibodies and decreased inflammation.

J is for Joy

Meditation leads to joy. Once you believe that the universe is working for you and that everything is happening for your good, meditation can help by turning up your awareness and allowing you to witness the joy in every situation. You will begin to notice if and when you are struggling or resisting the natural flow.

K is for Karma

In its simplest form, karma might be described as an energetic loop where every action generates an equal force of energy that returns to us—what we sow is what we reap. In meditation, you tap into your ability to make spontaneously correct choices for yourself and for all those around you.

L is for Letting Go

Want to let go of a habit that doesn’t serve you? Meditation is a tool to allow you to step outside your pattern and change it. Meditation also helps you to let go of the past and forgive by training your mind to stay present.

M is for Manifest

Manifest can mean to reveal presence or make an appearance. When you meditate, you are more clearly able to manifest goals that align with your highest self.

N is for Namasté

This popular word, which you might have heard at the end of a yoga class, is both a spoken Indian expression and a symbolic gesture that means “the God within me greets the God within you.” Namasté is the recognition that we are all equal and share a common divinity.

O is for Om

The primordial vibration Om (or “aum”) is sometimes chanted at the end of meditation or as part of a longer mantra used throughout meditation. It is considered the most sacred sound in Hinduism and Buddhism.

P is for Peace

In the words of the Dalai Lama, “If every 8-year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.”

Q is for Quiet

Meditation is practiced quietly in order to quiet the mind. Note that quiet and silence are not the same thing in this case. When the world around you is loud, busy, or filled with distractions, the quiet that meditation provides doesn’t occur by turning off these stimuli but by focusing elsewhere, which gives you the perception of quiet.

R is for Raja or Royal Path

Raja yoga is frequently referred to as the “royal path to yoga” because it focuses on practices that take your awareness inward and promotes the integration of the mind, body, and spirit. Meditation is one of these practices.

S is for Subtle Body

This is where the magic happens—outside any physical construct and in a non-local place. Your mind, your ego, and your intellect all work together to form the subtle body.

T is for Transformation

Through meditation the mind and the body are transformed right down to a cellular level. Telomerase is another “T” word. It controls the age function of cells and recent studies have shown that meditation can positively impact the aging of cells by lengthening the telomerase.

U is for Unique

Your meditation is unique to you; there is no correct way to meditate. Whether it be mantra or silent, with music or without, in a group or on your own, whatever style of meditation works to keep you showing up for your meditation practice is the perfect style for you.

V is for Vitality

Meditation leads to vitality—the ability to flourish with a balanced physical, mental, and spiritual body. When your mind is at peace and you have left behind the patterns of stress and anxiety that are so common in today’s society, vitality comes more easily.

W is for Wholeness

Wholeness is also known as unity consciousness or the state of enlightenment, in which there is complete freedom from all conditioning, including habit, past experience, and karma.

X is for Ex- …

Meditation is helpful in kicking unhealthy habits to the curb. If you want to be an ex-smoker, an ex-drinker, or an ex-anorexia sufferer, meditation can help. Check out the Chopra Addiction & Wellness Center for more information on how to release unhealthy habits and get on the path to wellness.

Y is for Yoga

Yoga, the way many people think of it, is the asanas or physical postures; however, yoga actually has four limbs: karma, raja, gyan, and bhakti.

Z is for Zen

“Zen” is the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese character “chan,” which in turn is the Chinese translation from the Indian Sanskrit term dhyana, which means “the development of witnessing awareness.”

Now that you know you’re ABCs of meditation, there’s no reason to delay your next meditation

Elle Women in TV 2016

Last night I had the incredible honor of being invited to the Elle Women in TV 2016 dinner. This is such a beautiful event because it honors women in Hollywood who are making a difference in television and acknowledges their achievements.

I was a guest on behalf of Hearts on Fire, an incredible jewelry company who sponsored the event along with Olay. They decked me out in some absolutely amazing diamonds and all I can say is that I felt like a princess. I mean seriously, diamonds really are a girls best friend! Don’t forget to check out my post on going to the Golden Globes with Hearts on Fire as well.

Elle women in TV 2016: Nikki Sharp and Viola Davis

After being asked to go, I decided that I wanted to do a blog post about the event and instead of just showing you all pictures and BTS, I wanted to share something about these beautiful women that you won’t find anywhere else. It led me to go up to many of the women at the event and ask about what obstacles these female powerhouses have had to overcome and what advice they have for you all when it comes to keeping your motivation when life gets tough. I find this topic so interesting because we all go through struggles in our life and I want to know what hurdles these celebrities have dealt with to get to where they are. What secrets and knowledge do they have that would help you? So, I got to asking…

One of the most interesting things that I took away from asking the questions was the reoccurring theme of staying true to your passion and having a good support system. But read on to learn what Malin Ackerman, Karen David, and Joy Bryant have dealt with in their life and what advice they have for you.

Advice from the stars

The questions I asked where:

What is the biggest obstacle you have faced in your life and how did you overcome it?

What piece of advice do you have for others who are struggling in their careers?

What is your most proud moment?

Elle women in TV 2016: Actress Samira Wiley attends ELLE's 6th Annual Women in Television Dinner Presented by Hearts on Fire Diamonds and Olay at Sunset Tower on January 20, 2016 in West Hollywood, California. (Photo by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images for ELLE)

Samira Wiley, actress, Orange is the New Black

Biggest obstacle: After graduating high school and applying to every possible acting program in New York, she was turned down from every single one. She ended up going to an acting school in Arizona where one of her teachers told her that she had real talent and needed to aim higher, but she was feeling vulnerable and didn’t want to go through the shame of rejection all over again. It was her ego speaking to her, saying that she couldn’t. She ended up auditioning for Juilliard and received a callback. Her biggest challenge was not letting her inner voice tell her that she couldn’t and she overcame this by remember who she was, why she wanted to act, and gaining strength from putting herself out there. As she puts it “I did what I thought was impossible” and she is now on a hit TV show with offers coming in.
Biggest piece of advice: Stick with your passion and remember the internal fire that drives your. Trying to do something for others or “being cool” will never give you the success you want but remaining authentic will.
Most proud moment: “Never giving up on what I thought my life could or should look like in regards to romantic love.”

Malin Akerman, actress, Billions

Biggest obstacle: Even though she is an A-lister, she still faces jobs she is not a right fit for and gets the ‘No’s.’ Malin explained that her biggest obstacle is to continue doing what she does and to stay passionate when she doesn’t get the jobs she wants or isn’t the right fit.
Biggest piece of advice: Have a good support system whether it’s friends or family, to get you through the bad days which everyone has.
Most proud moment: Being a mother to her three year old son.

Elle women in TV 2016: Karen David Karen David, actress, Galavant

Biggest obstacle: Karen’s parents gave up everything they had to create a good family life for Karen and her sister, immigrating from India to the UK with only $20 in their bank account and raising two daughters in a studio apartment, although they both are highly educated people. They supported her in everything she did and wanting to be an actress by paying for classes and taking her on castings although they had very little money. She said that after auditioning for four pilot seasons and getting rejected, her biggest obstacle was to keep going and believing in herself because of what her parents went through in life.
Biggest piece of advice: Remember why you are doing what you are doing, what your childhood dreams are and to allow your drive and ambition to be empowering.
Most proud moment: Finally booking a US based tv show (Galavant) after four years of auditioning and being able to show her parents what their support did for her.

Elle women in TV 2016: Karen David, Joy Bryant and Nikki Sharp

Joy Bryant, model and actress, Parenthood

Biggest obstacle: Joy was supposed to be a statistic as she told me. She grew up in the Bronx with her grandmother, on welfare and not having a big chance of succeeding in her dreams. She overcame this by going to night programs and a minority outreach school, which later led to her being accepted to Yale on a full academic scholarship. She credits her grandmother’s support to overcoming such a challenging life.
Biggest piece of advice: Believe in yourself and have trust, and live through the doubt that we all have.
Most proud moment: Being accepted to Yale.

Elle women in TV 2016: Ilaria Lanzoni

Ilaria Lanzoni, director of design, Hearts on Fire

Biggest obstacle: Once she began designing for Hearts on Fire, she was asked to do videos and give interviews about her creations and where her inspiration came from. She was asked to express herself in the media, rather than just through what she designed and this was a her biggest challenge as she says she’s very shy and has never felt fully fluent in English. She learned to treat these media appearances almost like an actress would, going into a character that was not afraid. Little by little she began believing in herself and has learned to overcome the challenges faced of being camera-shy.
Biggest piece of advice: Never give up on your dreams!
Most proud moment: What she has done with her job and the creations she has made for Hearts on Fire.

Elle women in TV 2016: Actors Abigail Spencer (L) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead attend ELLE's 6th Annual Women in Television Dinner Presented by Hearts on Fire Diamonds and Olay at Sunset Tower on January 20, 2016 in West Hollywood, California. (Photo by Stefanie Keenan/Getty Images for ELLE)

Abigail Spencer (left), actress, Cowboys & Aliens, This is Where I Leave You

Biggest obstacle: Having a thriving career and raising a son at the same time. She said that it’s all about balance and now that she’s figured it out she doesn’t have to comprise as much because she knows what she wants and has a better life because of it.
Biggest piece of advice: Find balance in your life and do what you love.
Most proud moment: Having a child and still being able to do what she loves every day.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead (right), actress and singer, The Ring 2

Biggest obstacle: Learning to overcome trying to please everyone else and instead focusing on what she truly wanted in life. It took Mary a while to truly understand that listening to her inner voice would allow her to succeed in everything she wanted, but it didn’t happen overnight.
Biggest piece of advice: Don’t try to please anyone but yourself in life and listen to your own inner voice.
Most proud moment: Celebrating everyday because these are the moments that will make life beautiful.

Elle women in TV 2016: Abigail Spencer, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Nikki Sharp

I’m so inspired to share all of these beautiful women with you and what they have had to overcome in their lives to become who they are today. I hope to continue being able to share more stories like this with you all. I personally loved hearing the stories of Karen and how humble she is towards her success and how big of a part of family was for her, Ilaria’s struggle to overcome shyness and how open and friendly she was with me, and Mary Elizabeth’s story of believing in herself. It’s such a beautiful thing when women are able to share their struggles in life and how they overcame them in order to help others. This is a lot of why I do what I do, purely to share my personal stories and hopefully help at least one person overcome a struggle in their life.

My question to you: If you could meet any celebrity (or anyone at all for that matter!) and ask one question- what would it be? Share below!

Hope you all enjoyed the behind-the-scenes photos as well! What a cool event…hope to be back next year! And thanks again to the absolutely beautiful jewelry company Hearts on Fire for making me feel so beautiful with their diamonds!

Tons of love, Nikki

Going to the golden globes

In the first week of January I was flying high, and by flying high I mean my professional life was hitting a high note. Not only did I get to do a live segment for Access Hollywood Live, they brought me on camera three times in one week and booked me again for February. Then on top an already amazing week, I completely manifested going to the Golden Globes and it happened.

Naturally, this is a pretty hard thing to come by. Yet, I knew that by asking the universe for this it would somehow happen. The quick version is that I asked Billy Bush to get me a ticket, that I had a dress I would wear and I wanted to go. The longer version (and still keeping it short) is that he wasn’t able to get me one but I visualized enough that it happened through someone else.

Now, I did a LOT of manifesting for this. I imagined myself there. I envisioned what I would wear including the makeup I would do, the shoes, and how I would feel when I was there. Visualization is a very powerful thing (more posts to come  on this soon) and seriously, it works. Don’t just trust me; many athletes visualize themselves not only winning their sport, but everything associated with it. They see where they are, how they feel and all the details in between.

It just so happened that I had been working with an amazing company called Hearts on Fire and they had extra tickets. Not only that, they asked if I wanted to go AND wear their insanely beautiful diamonds to the event. Um…..Yes Please?

Going to the Golden Globes

I was given two tickets, one for myself and one for my girlfriend Michelle, where we got to go mingle, chat with celebs (I mean, hello Tyrese, Heidi Klum, Orlando Bloom and more!), and really, just enjoy the heck out of an event that I had manifested going to. It was pretty magical.

I’m so thankful for my girl, Kelly Shew, who is the most amazing makeup artist on the planet who did my ultra Hollywood glamour look. She really pulled the Philipp Plein dress onto a whole new level by creating a clean but super glam look. I mean really, I was stopped by so many people that night telling me how amazing I looked. #nailedit

Overall, this was such an amazing experience and I’m so glad that I went. Now, it’s onto visualizing myself walking the red carpet with a new man in tow- what do you think?!

With Love, NikkiIMG_5744

Drink More Water with Detox Waters

As you all know by now, I am relentless when it comes to telling people to drink more water. The recommended amount of water to drink daily is 2-3L. But even though I say that, the question I seem to get most often in relation to water is how to go about drinking the 2-3L.  The primary issues I’ve heard with drinking enough water are: it’s boring, water bottles run out and then don’t get refilled, the tap water tastes bad, and it’s hard to know which water bottle to get to help with this.

If you find yourself running into these or similar issues with drinking enough water, know that you are not alone. Even I struggle with drinking enough water, especially when I’m super busy. That is why I created Detox Waters, which will make your water more fun and easier to drink.

So how do you make detox water? Simple! Just buy a few mason jars, slice up whatever fruits you have around the house, and fill your jars with fruit and water. You will drink more water with detox waters because they are pretty to look at, they taste delicious, and they can be refilled 2-3 times with the same fruit. Plus, they are best when they sit overnight in the fridge, so you can make all your waters the night before and have them ready to take to work the next day.

Another great aspect of these waters is that they are a conversation starter. I like to bring my large mason jar with fruit or lemon and mint around with me when I’m out, just to see how many people come up and start conversations with me. Hey, that’s even how I got talking with Jillian Michaels! You’ll be amazed at how many people want to know what you’re drinking, simply because of how many people also struggle with drinking enough water.

Finally, detox waters will also provide you with the vitamins and minerals found in fruit without the calories of eating fruit. Don’t get me wrong, fruit is an excellent snack and should be incorporated into your diet 1-2x per day, but sometimes we want the nutrients from fruit when we’re already full or when we’re watching how much we eat. The water leaches out all of the nutrients, so you are only drinking the amazing health benefits!

To learn more about my detox waters and how to make them, check out this video below that I posted to my YouTube channel recently:

I hope this helps you all drink more water! Tag me in pictures of your detox waters (@StaySharpBeStrong or @NikkiRSharp), and I’ll make sure to repost a few :)

xoxo Nikki
