It’s Never or Now.

Yes, I’m a Gilmore Girls fan so I appreciate “Never or Now” instead of “now or never”.

There are a lot of big issues in our world. Not that there haven’t always been – historically or more recently. However, I think awareness and new responses are adding tension. It doesn’t help that we’re still in the midst of the Covid pandemic and lack many of our usual coping mechanisms.

How do we handle such weighty topics on our own?

How do we change the world?

Book Chat 2: Making Midlife Magic

Who is ready for our next Book Chat?

Our February book was Making Midlife Magic by Heloise Hull. This book now has 90 Amazon ratings with the average being 4.4. The Goodreads average is 4.38 with 229 ratings. I have to note that when I picked this book just a few months ago there were definitely fewer ratings – either the author has great marketing or it is the PWF trend (which we’ll discuss below).

Making Midlife Magic is in the current hot/ trending genre of Paranormal Women’s Ficti...

Book Chat: Fantasy

May 2021 Update: My original post below notes that the primary genres are urban fantasy and paranormal romance. However, my choices are a bit wider and include fantasy adventure, paranormal women’s fiction, and even young adult choices. The goal of Book Chat to discuss popular/ classic works from the reader and writer perspectives remains the same so I hope you’ll join the fun! The original post begins below and I’ve added links to the individual Chat posts too.

Book Chat: UF and PNR

Reading is my escape. Writing is a my coping mechanism. 2020 was rough and 2021 isn’t starting off well for most of us. If you are looking for a healthy way to clear your mind and inspire yourself, I’d like to invite you to my 2021 Book Chat!

Every author knows the struggle to read while trying to write/ publish.

Every reader knows the struggle to read the books on our TBR pile instead of buying new books.

One of my New Year’s resolutions is always to read more, and I doubt I’m alon...

3 Resolutions You Can Do Today

Happy New Year to all!!

Okay, let’s take some steps to determine the happiness of the new year then!

There are always a lot of ‘new year, new you’ blogs and with this year, I think we are all ready for a fresh start. The questions are always how do we get it and how do we make it stick…at least, there’s where I struggle. The top resolutions revolve around physical health/ fitness and enjoying life more. These are all great without a doubt. Unfortunately, many of us had the same resolut...

Bookdragon Holiday Gift List

Do you need help buying for the readers on your list? Maybe you want to give a few hints on what others can do for you? Hopefully, this list will help!

I shared it first in my Rahki Rambles newsletter so check out my website if you’d like to subscribe. As an indie author of urban fantasy (and future paranormal romance releases), I ramble about all my favorite bookish things. This includes animals, travel, chocolate, and martial arts to name just a few. For now though, let’s get back to the gi...

Marketing: Fishing with dynamite

Are you an indie author promoting your books?

This post is for you by a fellow indie author though I suspect other indies running their own businesses might face the same issues we do!

I’m NOT writing this because I’m the most successful indie author and can lead you to greatness (for a low price, of course). I’m writing this because I’ve been an Admin in several Facebook groups where authors try to promote their works. As an Admin, I’ve had authors rant and curse me. I’ve had authors acc...
