With nothing to lose, exuberant Emma, flamboyant Kevin and her unruly dog move to Palm Beach. Emma lists a $27 million mansion and is drawn into a world of yachts and parties—and to her soulful married client. To derail a looming affair, Emma’s zany friend fixes her up with a sexy British yacht captain. Steamy scenes bond the two until a topless Russian interferes.
Kevin, an inept caterer who specializes in flammable, phallic-shaped foods —spends his free time spying on the suspicious neighbor, while dreaming of a handsome trust-funder. Emma is about to sell the mansion—then she finds a dead socialite. While the entire town rejoices at this news, the police are less amused, and accuse our cast of characters.
Now penniless murder suspects with everything to lose, Emma and Kevin lure the suspects out to sea. Naturally, things do not go as planned and more trouble ensues.

MY REVIEW:
Tagline: An uncommon murder mystery with humor, and romance!
Palm Beach Busybodies is a fast and comedic read. The author Donna Drejza has developed a zany cast of characters who get themselves into hilarious predicaments. It is extremely entertaining with a side of mystery. The pug is among one of the most amusing characters in Palm Beach Busybodies. The book is also provocative, and is filled with steamy scenes. I recommend this book for anyone who likes murder mystery with an enormous dose of humor.

“Amazingly funny and well written. Fast-paced story, easy and addictive to read. Uproarious cast of characters. Deliciously riotous… Move over, Miss Marple, Emma, Kevin and Ursula will take over… Every page made me want to read more. Very entertaining and much fun to read. I hope there will be more firecracker whodunits with this leading cast in hot pursuit. Including pug Ursula, of course. But for a pug, that’s a given…”
—Bea Amazon Review
“Move over Bridget Jones, time for Emma! The adventures of Emma, Kevin and Ursula are funny and witty. The book is a great read and made me smile the whole way through. I was reminded of the first time I read Helen Fielding.”
—Carine Amazon Review
“Very funny and witty! Emma Budnjk reminds me of Bridget Jones, but the wit is also very David Sedaris. I love the wacky characters: Irene; with her crossing Chihuahua, Dr. Phil and Kevin the caterer are hysterical. Good clean naughty fun to read poolside this summer.”

EXCERPT OF “PALM BEACH BUSYBODIES”
April 20, 2015
Just as I spy the topless Russian’s personnel file, curiosity gets the better of me. This does not fall into the category of snooping I think as I slide the manila folder to the edge of the desk. Then suddenly curiosity’s helper, gravity, talks the file off the ledge to the floor where it scatters—face side up.
I’m wondering about the blonde who has a rack for luring my men away. Rats! She’s only 33. Well, it’s just a matter of time before she turns 39, and resorts to snooping. I wouldn’t be surprised if her job description says, “Employee shall be tasked with lounging about in bikini bottom whilst swilling wine.” She “works” on the yacht captained by my boyfriend, Graham. He left me alone at the ball last night, and I can only conclude she had something to do with it. Oh well, maybe I can be her apprentice and learn some of her tricks.
As I sip the black syrup that was my lab experiment with the espresso machine, I am reminded of the coffee that Eva Gabor used to make on that 1960’s TV show. I loved the way she just threw the dirty dishes out the “vindow” and think that is what I should do now. My real estate clients are coming to view the place in a few hours and it’s still a mess from the party. Somehow, I never made it home last night, so here I am spraying Fantastic in a white evening gown and yellow rubber gloves. A lovely pairing for a Realtor at 9 a.m. When I find my phone, I come to a rude awakening: it’s 10:54. Oh No! The power went off during the party and the stove clock must be wrong. When will I learn that stove clocks are in another dimension of time.
Suddenly, there is a knock on the door. I look up to see an entire limb of the Aggarwal family tree cheerfully waving at me. I decide that cheerfulness and punctuality are overrated traits in the morning. There is no way to hide or change my clothes, as the house is an architecturally inspired fishbowl. Not that I want to hide—I really need this sale—so I let them in.
As I trail along, my assistant Ursula leads the gaggle-o-Aggarwals, from room to room. When she develops a keen interest in the ancient one’s sari she has to be demoted to her previous role as my dog. Taking over, I guide them through the estate with the precision of an aimless ant. Suddenly, the ancient one halts at the top of the stairs. I think she’s having some sort of stroke, then a smile cracks on her face and she gives a big thumb up. This is real estate code for: Yay! A $27 million sale! I love the Aggarwals—so swift and cheerful.
Not wanting to waste a precious minute, I suggest we take the sleek elevator to the main floor; I do a little happy dance as we wait, until I realize they can see my reflection in the chrome elevator. When the door opens, there is a chorus of screams and Aggar- wails—like they practiced on the way over. I look into the elevator and think this can’t be good. There is a dead body.
3 months earlier – Washington DC
As I wait for the ever tardy Kevin, I embark on one of my favorite pastimes: painting still lifes. I usually do cakes and naked men, but neither of them happen to be lying around, so I settle on painting a butterscotch Krimpet. To get in a painterly mood, I pour a glass of my beloved Ferrari-Carano Fume Blanc and play a Phil Collins record. I find there is nothing more comforting than the timeless furry voice of Phil Collins, played on an old scratchy record player.
After a few burnt umber brush strokes, I notice my wine glass is empty again. Hmm. Must quit drinking, I vow as I venture for a new bottle. Right then, my pug steals a kiss with her aardvarkesque tongue—then she steals my wine. Right in front of me!
I have had dogs before—many without drinking problems—but Ursula is one of those bad pugs you read about. Indeed, the former owners declared her “The Worst Dog in the World.” Usually in these cases an owner “accidentally” leaves the front door open, or deposits the dog untethered outside the grocery store hoping some poor sap will wander by. As with all great plans, things can go awry. The major hitch of this plan: the dog can return—with a vengeance. Come to find out, the previous owners actually drove Ursula to the dog pound then smartly moved away. Of course, there was no disclosure of this by the dog pound people when I stumbled in that day. No, the hoodwinkers somehow left that out. They practically made me adopt her, offering to throw in a water dish if I took her right then and there. A purebred with a free water dish? I should have known it was all too good to be true.
Ursula now has tail cancer, a particularly difficult type to operate on notwithstanding the curliness of a pug tail. The worst part is that I have just enough money to pay my rent, but not enough for the operation.
My best friend Kevin is now here. He doesn’t knock like normal people. No, his entrance is more of an appearance on the scene through a sliding swerve. He’s wearing his signature royal blue bathrobe and because he had to pass through public to get here, he’s wearing pants. While my other gay friends are more subtle, Kevin saves onlookers the trouble of having to fire up their gaydar. He plays a caterer in the melodrama that is his life, but always gets fired because his creations are somehow phallic – or melt into phallic shapes.
When I tell him of my latest dilemma he says to simply borrow the money from my fiancé, Larry. “That way, you don’t have to pay it back.”
I hadn’t really thought of that, but it seems to me like a bad way to start a happy marriage.
Kevin unwittingly nibbles on the Krimpet as he makes painterly brush strokes to enhance the painting. “Kevin, you just bit my model!”
“So, that’s what that was,” he says innocently.
Right then the phone rings; it’s Larry. Kevin answers for me and after a few ‘ah ha’s’ informs me that Larry is cancelling our dinner tonight. This bit of information leads Kevin to conclude that Larry is cheating on me. While I process this thought, Kevin is busy planning a stake out. The next thing I know we are in the back of my previously owned Mercedes parked in front of Larry’s house. We are dressed as spies, or so I am told by Kevin, who is up on the latest in spywear. I’m wearing a trench coat over a night gown; Kevin has added a beret to his ensemble; Ursula has a stocking over her head like a Dr. Seuss character gone bad.
We have jelly donuts, which Kevin says are required for a proper stake out, but apparently a pug can’t eat with a stocking on. This explains why you don’t see pugs robbing banks very often.
Kevin pops up like a periscope, “Look, there’s a strawberry blonde going into his house.”
Kevin always puts everything in food terms; he describes me as a chocolate brunette. I say that could be his sister as he drags me out of the car. Now we are sitting on a stone retaining wall overlooking Larry’s pool with a good view into his living room window. He is pouring his sister a glass of champagne in the good crystal. Our spy pet has insisted on coming along, but may be pulled off mission due to her constant licking to get donut powder off her mossy face. Then she moves on to Kevin’s face, and he pushes her away, causing her to land in the pool. Thank goodness Larry has loud music playing to drown out our espionage-ineptitude.
Peering through the windows we see Larry full frontal, now French kissing the woman. I am starting to think that is probably not his sister. Either way, this is not good. Kevin points out that now Larry is unbuttoning her blouse. I can’t look anymore. Like a sports announcer, Kevin says, “now she’s taking off his pants.” I look up to see Larry wearing the David Beckham boxer briefs I bought him—only so I could keep the box. One glance and all can see that Larry has a full Beckham going. I take my coat off and jump into the pool to save my pollywog pug. I am quietly trying to catch Ursula but she must think it’s some sort of game and maintains an out of reach distance from me.
Kevin soon decides that this spectator sport requires a beer. He opens the pool fridge, which causes a chain reaction of tumbling beers, sore toes and screaming. Larry halts his kissing and disrobing and comes out—with the Beck safely retired. Shirley Bassey’s maroon velvet voice singing, “If you go away” escapes from the opened doors. Larry looks back to see if I noticed anything amiss, like a strawberry blonde pulling his pants down.
Yelling at him, I punctuate each syllable with a whack on the head with the only thing I can find: a styrofoam swim noodle. He says it’s not what it looks like. Oh yeah?
I grab my baby pug and make a run for the moving vehicle that is my car with Kevin as mad getaway driver. When I look back I realize I’ve left behind my rain coat, that and what I thought was my future.
First, I’m shocked— a whoa! moment. Then it’s like a slow deadness coming over me, like when a steamroller backs over a new birthday bicycle. There it lies, still shiny, but no longer so new and now very flat. Like my heart.
ABOUT AUTHOR:
Donna Drejza lives in Palm Beach, Florida and Washington, DC– spending most of her time moving her stuff back and forth. She currently works as a writer, realtor, restaurant critic, artist, and a yoga teacher–none of which seem to pay on any regular basis.
Her books are comedic in nature and semi-autobiographical. She loves to write about food, wine, fancy places and dogs. Yes, some cats slip into the stories, because every book needs an antagonist here and there. Just kidding cat people! She has recently become a cat aunt to Esther and Mauricio, and except for the midnight soccer matches with her reading glasses, finds them to be fascinating characters.
She is about to launch the first of a micro-series called, Soul Mates and the 102. It’s about a single American woman who flies all the way to London for a blind date (Donna would do that) but the guy is a no-show. It’s very glamorous and sexy.
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
First I want to thank Donna Drejza for doing the interview with me. Read the interview below and found how comedic she can be.
1. What is your writing process? Chaotic. Scenes come into my head, like I’m watching a movie of my characters. Then I pass the microphone around and let them speak. I write it down as fast as I can. Then I end up with a big crazy party that needs lots of editing.
2. Who are your largest author influences? Vladimir Nabokov, Roald Dahl, John Irving, Helen Fielding.
3. What is your favorite book? Bridget Jones’ Diary. I remember I couldn’t stop reading it – well, only to refill my wine glass.
4. What is your latest news? I’ve just finished a British TV script called The Playboy, the Poet and the Spy. It’s about an American writer who flies to London to find her soul mate and gets in big trouble.
5. What are the five things people do not know about you? 1. Many are shocked to know I worked at the CIA; yes, they hired a blabber mouth like me! 2. I have a degree in Computer Science – yet have trouble changing a vacuum cleaner bag. 3. I have Synesthesia. This means I mix up my senses. Numbers have colors, voices have flavors. This is great for a writer. Would be bad for an accountant. Nabokov had it. 4. I’m 1/3 psychic. I get snapshots of the future. Trouble is there is no date on them, so I can’t tell if it’s a week away or 7 years away. 5. I’m part American Indian. Not enough to run a casino. I think you have to be ¼ for that.
6. What genre do you write? Funny Murder Mysteries. Is that a genre?
7. What is your most recent book Palm Beach Busybodies about? A hapless woman, (me) and her gay best friend and her tipsy pug move to Palm Beach to find love and luck and end up finding a dead socialite. It’s a comedy.
8. How do you come up with characters for Palm Beach Busybodies? Some are an amalgamation of friends (Kevin) some are fantasy men (Graham, the sexy British Yacht Captain); most just come to me – like Irene, who designs Pug hats and teaches water aerobics to poodles. I don’t know anyone like that.
9. Who are your favorite characters in Palm Beach Busybodies and Why? I love them all! The zany Irene; The fearless elder Esther Weinstein, The soulful Richard; I’ve enjoyed writing about Graham, especially the sex scenes. Had to have a cigarette afterwards, and I don’t even smoke.
10. Is there a message behind Palm Beach Busybodies? Eat, drink and be merry!
11. How many books do you read a year? I have 5 books on the night stand – unfinished. Whenever I start to write, I read a few lines of great writing to get in a writerly mood.
12. What is the last book you read? To Love a Stranger coming out soon, by John Michael Wilde. Excellent writing.
13. What is the hardest part in writing Palm Beach Busybodies? Having to sample all that food, drink all that champagne, imagine all that sex. Just kidding. It was the damned re-writes. Having to imagine all that sex all over again!
14. What did you enjoy about writing Palm Beach Busybodies? I love being with my characters. I can get them to do what ever I want. That’s difficult with real people.
15. How long did it take for you to Palm Beach Busybodies? The first draft took only 2 months. The next 30 drafts took 4 years.
16. Do you have any children or pets? If so, do they distract you, or assist you with writing? I have no children – that I know of. I used to have 2 pugs. Stella and Ursula. Ursula was of course a major inspiration for this book. No one could have made up a pug gone wrong like her.
17. Have you traveled for your book, if so where? I spent many winters in Palm Beach working on this book. I just returned from 4 months in Lugano, Switzerland where I worked on my upcoming novel – the basis for The Playboy, the Poet and the Spy.
18. What are your next writing projects? (see above)

ABOUT AUTHOR:
My name is Paulina Nowak and I have been a proud Australian citizen for nearly a decade. I was born in central Europe, Poland and always dreamed of travelling and exploring the world. Today, my dream has come true – I feel like, I am a citizen of the World.
I have been able to make a wonderful life in Australia with my family and therefore want to share my life through series of eBooks with you.
My professional career was built in two countries, Poland and Australia; consequently it allowed me to work in Quality Management Systems worldwide. This experience has proven to be a wealth beyond financial gain and allowed me a deep sense of personal growth and achievement. Having worked in both large multinational companies as well as small local businesses, I have learnt the European and Australian markets.
However, there were always some obstacles along the way that did not allow me to fully spread my wings and soar. I believe that my potential is limitless and have always thought I can do more. I think differently and I can always improve.
The idea of migrating to a new country may seem daunting at first but I believe everyone can do it.
At the beginning of my story, I thought I had nothing but a giant student loan and a load of favors to repay. I was wrong. Study had taught me to look at things from different perspectives and I continue to use this every day. Over time I came to appreciate the knowledge gained at university and accompanied it with real life experiences from the workplace.
Subsequently, my study became a career and my career allowed me to travel and enjoy many varied life experiences. Could I have imagined…love and marriage, parenting, a career abroad with various opportunities, financial security, being a home owner or migration to the other end of the World – migration to Australia!
All these experiences have led me here today…and made me who I am.
Paulina Nowak happy World citizen living permanently in Australia since 2006. Being a migrant, was only a stage in my life, like being a student or a Quality Assurance Manager.

Lachi lives in New York City with her life partner and enjoys reading, composing and catching live performances.
MY REVIEW:
I have not finished reading the ivory staff, but once I do. I will post the review.
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
First I want to thank M. Lachi for doing the interview with me. Read the interview below and found how intriguing she is.
1. What is your writing process? Hi Mary Sage, thanks for taking out the time to interview me here on your blog. I don’t necessarily have a specific writing process, as sometimes an idea for a story pops into my head in the shower or during a walk and pour out profusely once I sit at the computer to type. Other times, I write out a methodical outline, lines in which to draw.
2. What is the latest book you’ve read? Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, my second read through. I’m now reading Pattern Recognition, by William Gibson.
3. What are five things people do not know about you? I tend to be pretty open; however, some factoids include: I am legally blind, I am a grammy-nominated songwriter, and I worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
4. What is your latest news? I will be releasing my debut full-length novel, The Ivory Staff on October 23 through Library Tales Publishing.
5. What genre do you write? Currently I am writing speculative and fantasy-tinged fiction; however, I am interested in penning narrative Memoirs and thought-provoking Children’s.
6. What is your most recent book The Ivory Staff about? It’s about? This is always a tough question for an author, though it shouldn’t be. The Ivory Staff is a story of how an island nation with a history of conflict between two major factions struggles to find peace. We follow a peasant girl, who’d lost everything to the monarchy, as she fights against age-old customs and practices to instate justice by any means.
7. Have you traveled for your book, if so where? While writing the book I traveled to England and Africa. Both visits heavily influenced the world building and character creation for the book.
8. What are your favorite characters in The Ivory Staff and Why? I do love them all, as they are all a small part of my innards, from the main characters tot eh unnamed guards.
9. Is there a message behind The Ivory Staff? One of the messages I hope to portray is that love–of one’s country, of one’s people, of a child or paramour, of a cause—can transform an individual and is a great motivator…a force that drives through the face of any adversity.
10. What are your next writing projects? I am currently whipping together three more novels, a book of short stories, and a possible memoire of one of my greatest heroines.
11. How can fans reach you directly? I can be found at http://www.mlachi.com, facebook.com/mlachiauthor, and twitter.com/mlachiauthor. At mlachi.com, you can find updates on upcoming happenings and events, updates to my blog, and contact info to send me direct feedback. Thank you again, Mary Sage, for such a wonderful interview!

Linda went to Old Hill primary school, then Whitchampton primary school (Hagley) and was at Kidderminster Convent until the age of twelve when she left school and had a private tutor while show-Jumping under B.S.J.A rules (British Show Jumping Association.)
Linda moved to Jersey, Channel Islands with her parents in the mid 1960’s.
Linda has been a director on the board of a Blue chip UK Company and a number of other companies over the years; she jointly owned and ran a 24 Hr Recovery service for over 25 years with her husband Brian Corby, they married in Jersey Channel Islands on the 21st of April 1973.
Linda recalls many family entrepreneurial conversations around the family dining table, at cocktail parties and at Company board meetings and says she has used much of this information to produce her latest Hard Back Book Zoom into Profit to help other budding entrepreneurs at the request of her local Social Security Careers Department.
Linda’s first published book was a poetry book, but the first book she wrote she produced at the age of thirteen The Girl Who Believed in Fairies and was first published in 1981, it has since been re-released with 50% of anything she makes out of it going to the children’s hospice Oakwell in St Brelade Jersey, Channel Islands, were Linda lost her 12 year old daughter Natasha to cancer.
Linda draws on her life experiences when writing her books, and she has a vaste amount of them, a life with experiences that for example inspired one very famous author to produce a top best seller novel using just part of her life.
Linda has a great love of animals, especially horses and dogs, she can often be found walking her dogs in many of Jersey’s beauty spots, usually with a recorder and or notepad because as she says “you never know when inspiration will hit you, and a good story is all about observation and what inspires you.”
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
First, I want to thank Linda Corby for doing the interview with me. Read the interview below and found how intriguing she is.
1. What is your writing process? I write my fiction in all ways from simply sitting down and writing a first draft straight out of my head, to producing one from my own pre established plots. On a regular basis I get an idea in my head and write down the plot lines for it,then put it too one side till I decide to write the book. Sometime a whole fiction story springs into my head in dream format while I am sleeping, then I write it straight down as soon as I wake so I can produce it at a later date. My other books come from research, personal knowledge and experience.
2. Who are your largest author influences? My largest author influences span over many years, from my private tutor who taught me the basics of how to put a fiction story together plot, characters, basic story-lines and the need to be able to discipline ones self when editing. I have been writing since I could hold a pencil, stories and poetry thought pieces just flowed out of me from a very early age and I completed my first book of fairy stories at the age of thirteen (The Girl who Believed in Fairies) but I did not put my poetry thought pieces out there until much later (Bits & Bobs). 50% of anything I make out of my fairy stories goes to the Hospice where my daughter Natasha passed. The other main influences on my writing was one my ex next door neighbour Harry Patterson (alias Jack Higgins ),an amazing and delightful man who gave me a lot of useful advice and tips when I decided to write my first real full length fiction thriller novel (Feminist Revenge) a novel that I used to expel so many emotions into, it might be under the category of erotica in the Amazon listings, but it is so much more than that and it is not all sex, at its heart is a love story stuffed with thrilling episodes that make it an un-put-downable read or so my readers tell me. Then there was Paul Newman who phoned me in 1991 to apologise for his charity (The Whole in the Wall Gang ) who had sent correspondence for my daughter Natasha who had passed on the previous year, and we chatted for a very long time, a wonderful caring person, with untold life experience, who gave me good advice and left me with an everlasting influence on some of the things that I write and the way I look at life in general. Last but not least is the general support given to me by my direct family.
3. What is your favorite book? The Wind on the moon my favourite film is One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest both beyond brilliant.
4. What genre do you write? All of them :-)
5. What is your most recent book Bad Blood about? My Most recent book is ‘Scams’ All about Scams. My Autobiography ‘Bad Blood’ is the book closes to my heart.
6. How do you come up with characters for Bad Blood? It is real life the characters are real.
7. What are your favorite characters in Bad Blood and Why? My Daughter Natasha who we lost to Cancer, and my son Benjamin who we lost to a cot death.
8. Is there a message behind Bad Blood? There are messages behind everything we say, write or do in life, but they will often be interpreted differently by each individual. I Say “There is nothing in life one cannot survive other than death its-self, live life to the full while you have it and tell those you love how you feel as much as is humanly possible.”
9. How many books do you read a year? Oh Far too many to list. I love to read as much as I love to write, so I am pretty prolific with both.
10. What is the last book you read? ‘Not Enough Time’ By Henrietta Knight, a delightful book about her life with Terry Biddlecombe I picked my signed copy up from her at HOYS (The Horse of the Year Show) last week, remembering sitting with my parents and friends in a family friends (Phil Neil) box at Cheltenham in 1967 watching the Gold Cup. Phil Neil had a racehorse out of the Tudor Melody bloodlines , racing that day was thrilling, spine tingling in fact!
11. What is the hardest part in writing Bad Blood? Memories of my daughter Natasha & son Benjamin, losing them being something I will never get over into eternity.
12. What did you enjoy about writing Bad Blood? Going through good memories of those times I have spent with those I love and those I have loved and lost. Like life itself there are good, bad, happy, funny and sad memories that should all be included in any autobiography/biography
13. How long did it take for you to Bad Blood? Four years.
14. Do you have any children or pets? If so, do they distract you, or assist you with writing? Both & Both. My children are both grown up now and are no longer living with me, although I do have two Border Collie Dogs, mother Foxie Lady and her daughter Spotykins who I adore, Spottykins is lying asleep beside me right now and Foxie is asleep on the seat next to my Hubby Brian. I would not be without either of them, they go everywhere with us and yes I can easily be distracted by them on occasions, just as one can be distracted by most things, life goes on no matter what we are doing or who we are doing it with :-)
15. Have you travel for your book, if so where? Not specifically for my books but I am touring the UK right now in my caravan, and have met up with many of my readers along the way.
16. Do you have a day job, you would be comfortable sharing? Do you have any good stories about your day job, you would like to share? I do not have a day job now I am an disabled OAP but have had many jobs over my lifetime, my Hubby and I ran a 24Hr Recovery service for over twenty five years. I have many stories on this subject in fact I have a book series out there people might like, my true life Events series ‘Breakdown Memories’ ‘How Rude is Farting’ Horses and Ponies have phobias just like people’ ‘TRIBIT (The New Forest Foal we saved.) ‘ Red (The huge friendly cockerel saved from the cooking pot.)
17. Do you have a muse? If you do, what do you love the most about him or her? If you mean a partner then yes, I have been married to Brian for over forty years. I love his sort side, I am an animal lover and my Dad always said “Never marry a man who doesn’t love children and animals” I did not and Dad was oh so right! He is my soul mate and have not and will not spend much time apart. Read ‘Tribit’ if you would like to find out what I mean ,you will love him for himself as I do.
18. What are your next writing projects? I am just finishing of the last edit on a thriller/horror called ‘Manchers’ this link is a preview first draft unedited section that anyone can read.
19. What are your writing or publishing goals in the future? I have a number of books I am in the process of writing, some thrillers, some informational and some short stories true life and horror ones. I also write a lot of screenplays and have a series called ‘Xmas Spirit’ Pilot Episode Xmas Spirit (Episode Two)
Xmas Spirit (Episode Three) Xmas Spirit (Episode Four) Xmas Spirit ( Episode Five) that right now I am looking for a film production company to produce, if you like screenplays they are .99p each and will surprise you!
I am also working on follow up horror stories for my series Halloween Ghost Story (Macabre Party) (Ghostly & Macabre Stories) this story comes with a free mp3 audio link inside for those who are sight impaired or just like to listen to stories. I will be doing the same with all the books in this series.

EXCERPT:
MFC Becalmed in Frigid Antarctic Waters
Sleet was changing to a freezing mist as a dreary dawn struggled to break through the heavy overcast. Ragged underbellies of the clouds were so low at times they touched the waters. Waters cluttered with brash ice ranging in size from a bobbing apple to that of a full grown pumpkin. Ominous thumping noises caused by frozen chunks hitting the sides of the hull were underscored by the steady beat of a crew working the bilge pump. Those were the sounds they heard above an almost still ship that lay as near to dead in the water without being so as you would ever see. Ocean currents gave more movement to the ship than did the jibs and spanker, the only sails that were set.
Captain Foster, Fritz Cheny, Hank Jensen, Gabe Toombs and Tungee all stood on the quarterdeck in the teeth chattering cold, their hands stuffed deep into their pockets. No one said anything. They waited, watched and listened. But for what, none of them was quite sure. Two nights had passed since they’d had a clear shot at the stars with their sextant. Navigation anywhere near the South Pole was a tricky business at best.
MY REVIEW:
Tungee’s Gold is a remarkable historical fiction that cannot be replicated. The reason being is because Tom Barnes is an exceptional novelist with a one of the kind style. The book is historically accurate, and a pleasurable read. The intricate details makes this narrative a master piece with a twist at the end. Tungee Cahill is unique protagonist. The story’s time period starts during the California Gold Rush. Tungee finds his fortune but it is short lived. He stops off at a local restaurant before returning to his hotel. There Tungee finds out about a group called The Ducks. This group proves to be problematic for San Francisco. Tungee will later learn more about this group. During this Era, ships were short on men. They needed more men. Thus, this led to what happens next. In the restaurant, he become a victim of the San Francisco Shanghai tunnels. Tungee soon learns what it means to be a slave. You will be urged to read on about Tungee’s difficult experience. This book shows the ruthless side of slavery and exploitation. Another lesson from Tungee’s gold is how greed controls a person, and provokes them to harm others. I recommend this book for a mature audience, with a fascination of history and its implications.
ABOUT AUTHOR:
I was born in Fort Myers, Florida and when I was five years old my family moved to Central Georgia, the land my great grandfather fought for in places like Gettysburg, Cold Harbor and Saylers Creek.
I grew up listening to Civil War stories and faithfully recorded them into my journal. I studied English literature at Middle Georgia College and drama at the Pasadena Playhouse.
My military service was spent in naval aviation where I became a member of an
elite group known as the Hurricane Hunters. Squadron 114 flew routine patrol flights out of Miami into the Caribbean and South Atlantic in search of Tropical Storms. Once a storm was located the path and growth was watched and charted. The information we gathered was then passed along the Weather Bureau and they issued storm-warning bulletins to all potential areas in the path of the storm.
After the Navy I went to New York and soon landed my first Off Broadway play, “A Good Place to Raise a Boy.” Then I did tours with Bert Lahr in “Harvey”, Vera Miles in “The Country Girl” and June Lockhart in “Forty Carats.”
When PBS decided to do the TV Series Georgia’s Heritage I was hired as host narrator and writer. My initial writing assignment was to research and write two episodes for the series The Battle of Atlanta and The Battle of Chickamauga. Once those shows were finished we picked up out cameras and trekked all over Georgia filming, writing stories about Georgia and interviewing local historians.
Chasing hurricanes with the Hurricane Hunters had its moments but the last two segments of Heritage took anxiety and fear to a whole new level. I was given 48 hours to write a documentary on the Okefenokee Swamp, faced off with an alligator and had my first brush with the legendary Doc Holliday.
That brush with the legend gave me the idea and following tons of research and writing a fact based fiction emerged and is titled Doc Holliday’s Road to Tombstone.
That effort was followed by a nonfiction story based on my navy experience and called The Hurricane Hunters and Lost in the Bermuda Triangle.
My third book is a novel based on the Nazi plunder of art during World War II, The Goring Collection.
A fourth novel is in the works relating to the winding down of the African slave trade in the 1850’s titled Tungee’s Gold.
I do a blog on a variety of subjects called Rock The Tower.
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
First, I want to thank Tom Barnes for doing the interview with me. Read the interview below and found how intriguing he is.
1. What is your writing process? Example. In a bar in Savannah, Georgia while shooting a segment of Georgia’s Heritage, I heard the legend of Ebo landing. It interested me so I went to St. Simons Island where the landing still exists. Talked to the local voodoo lady and got some of the local’s take on the legend. Interested with questions, then chose a year during the Creek Indian War, Central Georgia, Tungee, Davy, Mama Sueand Papa Cahill. The young brothers carry the story. From there I follow their lead as the story unfolds.
Later in the story when the slaves enter the picture I read a lot about the Ebo Tribe as well as West African tales and poetry.(with Doc Holliday I started with tuberculosis that plagued his family in the 1800’s.)
2. Who are your largest author influences? Mark Twain, Hemingway and John Steinbeck.
3. What is your favorite book? Many, but I guess Gone With The Wind.
6. What genre do you write? no genre. That would bore me to death just like when I read it.
7. What is your most recent book Tungee’s Gold about? A strong willed character meeting others like himself. King Kumi. ‘I am a prisoner now but I will never
become a slave.’
8. How do you come up with characters for Tungee’s Gold? After I got Tungee and Davy standing I followed them and what they did until Davy’s death. Then it was
Tungee.
9. What are your favorite characters in Tungee’s Gold and Why? Strong characters with integrity.
11. How many books do you read a year? A good number, many in research.
12. What is the last book you read? Elia Kazan’s bio.
13. What is the hardest part in writing Tungee’s Gold? Learning the operation of a Clipper Ship. I spent almost 3 months in the Library of Congress in Atlanta, learning about sails and sailing, same one Margaret Mitchell used for Gone With the Wind.
14. What did you enjoy about writing Tungee’s Gold? Being in the middle of the action and winning.
15. How long did it take for you to Tungee’s Gold? about 18 months.
16. Do you have any children or pets? If so, do they distract you, or assist you with writing?
17. Have you travel for your book, if so where? Traveled all around Georgia while shooting Heritage with that side trip to St. Simons Island.
18. Do you have a day job, you would be comfortable sharing? Do you have any good stories about your day job, you would like to share? Actor and writer. Lot’s of stories.
19. Do you have a muse? If you do, what do you love the most about him or her? No muse
21. What are your writing or publishing goals in the future? Working on my blog into a book which will include Researching a Legend. My Doc Holliday
story.

It was supposed to be a game to heat up their summer—not ruin their lives.
Sixteen-year-old Whispy Callahan lands in trouble thicker than Florida’s humidity when she plays a twisted game of Dare. Everything would have been fine if she hadn’t fallen for one of the player’s “targets” along with dredging up buried murderous tendencies. Forget the game—now Whispy needs to find her boyfriend’s murderer, but that might prove difficult since everyone thinks she’s insane. They could be right.
“Twisted” “Drop-your-jaw shocking” “Unforgettable” “I. Love. Whispy.”

MY REVIEW:
Spin the Love is an addictive, and sexy romance suspense. The Whispy Callahan is sixteen. Making this unique romance thriller a young adult read. Whispy is a typical teenager, but the way Lisa Terry portrays her character she sounds wise beyond her years. Whispy has many internal thoughts throughout Spin the Love to make it even more intriguing. She has one love interest and it is Ej. He is a gentlemen, and kind. She falls fast for him. He is lovable at first. There is more than meets the eye, when it comes to Ej. The plot is solid, and keeps the readers estimating what will happen next. The end is inevitable, but necessary. Lisa is able to convey emotions well, and make the reader feel for her characters. I recommend this book for girls, and women because you will easily relate to Whispy and her predicament.
ABOUT AUTHOR:
Lisa Terry lives in the south, riding the state lines of Florida and Alabama. She has enough animals to call it a small farm, so she’s either insane or caring. Or insanely caring. She’s a print news reporter, an editor, and an aspiring Hogwarts student. On any given day, you can find Lisa playing video games, sitting on the beach, or organizing pet pageants. She gave up on fitting in a long time ago and now is fine with being called a walking contradiction. Lisa writes Young Adult and New Adult: contemporary, thriller, mystery, horror and paranormal.
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
First I want to thank Lisa Terry for doing the interview with me. Read the interview below and found how intriguing she is.
1. What is your writing process? It depends on the story on what generally comes first. Sometimes characters come to me before the story – they pop right into my head. He or she already has a story, I can tell by their expressions, the look in their eyes. I have to figure out their story. Other times, the inspiration comes from my own wondering mind. I’ll think of What If scenarios that authors are so fond of exploring. What if two girls who hate each other, have committed viscous acts against each other for all of their high school years, and they’re currently arguing in a parking lot about the most recent embarrassing prank when a van rides by and kidnaps them both? What happens now? Those are situational things that inspire me – individual stories. Next comes an outline, character interviews, research.
2. Who are your largest author influences? I don’t know if you can call her my influence, but L.M. Montgomery is definitely my inspiration. I really love her style. She was able to make the setting of Prince Edward Island seem like an additional character. Hopefully, I’ve done the same with Spin the Love, which has somewhat of a gothic setting in St. Augustine, Florida. I also love J.K. Rowling’s creativity and the way she weaves mystery.
3. What is your favorite book? Hands down, my favorite book is Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery.
4. What is your latest news?
Two things actually.
I’ve written a book with my good friend Ashley Chegwyn, and it will be out next month. It’s called 17 Promises and is also a Young Adult.
The other news is that I’m having fan shirts designed. The first one is already available. It’s for Moment(s). Here’s the link http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01628AJ2M?*Version*=1&*entries*=0
5. What are the five things people do not know about you? 1. I hate walking around barefooted. 2. My love for miniature Christmas villages has bled into Halloween villages. 3. I fall asleep watching the ID channel every night. 4. I play Call of Duty better than my daughter. 5. Every bloody scene I write is a struggle because I can’t stand the site of blood. T.V. blood isn’t nearly as realistic to me as the bloody scenes in my imagination.
6. What genre do you write? Contemporary and Paranormal. Young Adult and New Adult. Romance, Suspense, Thriller, Psychological, Horror
7. What is your most recent book Spin the Love about? It’s about a girl who thinks her life is idealic and lovely, but there’s a secret buried deep inside her that is about to be revealed. That secret compounded with results from the game she’s playing to combat summer boredom – it’s enough to drive someone to violence or at least insanity.
8. How do you come up with characters for Spin the Love? Like my remark above, Whispy came to me before the story. I saw a girl in a twenties-style dress walking around a humid city at night. She didn’t want to go home, her emotions were all over the place. I wrapped a story around her.
9. What are your favorite characters in Spin the Love and Why? Of course Whispy is my favorite character with EJ being a close second. Another character who became more important to me than I’d expected was Great Aunt Whispy, a Flapper from the twenties and a big influence on Whispy.
10. Is there a message behind Spin the Love? Of course there is a theme but I try not to set out to “teach a lesson.” Anytime I start out a story and the thought pops into my head “this will teach people not to….” it’s time to put it away. My job is to give an escape, to entertain, not shove my ideals down peoples’ throats.
11. How many books do you read a year? It used to be hundreds, but now it’s about twenty.
12. What is the last book you read? The last book I read was a sneak peek into one of my friend’s books, but it’s out now, We Were Human by Kate L. Mary. Let me tell you, it will not disappoint!
13. What is the hardest part in writing Spin the Love? The hardest part about writing it was how personal it became. That’s all I’ll say about that. Another hard part was liking Whispy too much to make her do what my outline said she was supposed to do. I struggled over that scene for days.
14. What did you enjoy about writing Spin the Love? Being in Whispy’s head is so fun that it’s scary. Once you read it, you’ll understand that remark.
15. How long did it take for you to Spin the Love? I wrote Spin the Love in three months. This is from conception – brainstorming, outlining, etc – until The End.
16. Do you have any children or pets? If so, do they distract you, or assist you with writing? I have pets and children, and they’re huge distractions. Fortunately, they’re also fun to have around and even help out in the writing department.
17. Have you travel for your book, if so where? I never write a book in a setting that I haven’t been before. That being said, I have written in additional settings that I’ve never been, but the main setting, I was there. Usually it has to be multiple visits to the town, or even living there, before I’ll consider setting a story there. I’ve never lived in St. Augustine, so I made three trips there while writing Spin the Love, and once more afterward just to make sure I had certain things right.
18. Do you have a day job, you would be comfortable sharing? Do you have any good stories about your day job, you would like to share? I’m a newspaper editor and before that I was a news reporter. There are way too many stories, most of them embarrassing on my part (see aversion to blood above and add that to having to cover things such as wrecks and violent acts that involve blood-letting).
19. What are your next writing projects? My next writing project is a sequel to Moment(s). It’s called Moment(um). Of course, there’s my co-writing project, 17 Promises, that I must get in shape for publication next month.
20. What are your writing or publishing goals in the future? I’ve started three books in the past year or so that I absolutely have to finish.
21. How can fans reach you directly?
