MY REVIEW:
Changing Lives is an erotic fantasy about loving, caring, and living life to the fullest. Makayla is vulnerable but capable character. She falls in love with Damien Starr. Who is a intriguing, and mysterious character. He embodies women’s fantasy with the charm of a rockstar, a caring personality, and physique to die for. Makayla is strong willed, is the owner of her own company in the book. She is very mature, but at the same time susceptible to parts of her life. She is also aware of her emotions, and tries very hard. Damien is wild, and unique compared to the typical erotica male characters. The love scenes are intense, and the emotional scenes between the main characters oozes epic romanticism. The main purpose of this book is about living life to the fullest, and don’t be afraid to fall in love hard and fast. I recommend Changing Lives to a mature audience with an interest in the music industry, and romanticism that stands the test of time.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW
First, I want to thank Fatima Alexander for interviewing with me. Find out more about her below. She is a very strong willed, and capable women who survived a terrible ordeal
What is your writing process? I don’t just sit down and write. I actually wait until I have a feeling that moves me in either a good or bad way then write from that place. I have always found that when you write in the moment of emotion you get the best result.
Who are your largest author influences? I read a lot of non-fiction and instructional books. I wouldn’t necessarily say that a specific author influences my writing. I believe that each person has a specific style that forms who they are, so I don’t necessarily get influenced from one particular author I would more so say maybe one particular style.
What is your favorite book? I read an autobiography on Maya Angelou’s life. I would say that was my favorite. She was very honest with her story, and her experiences made me look at my life differently. The icing on the cake was having the opportunity to hear her speak. She brought tears to my eyes to see how incredible a woman she was. There was so much strength in her story and her words.
What is your latest news? I recently started a magazine called I Am Not Ashamed. It is a spin-off from The Faith of Hannah. It is full of empowering stories, health tips, and motivational information for women. This initiative came to me after picking up a newspaper one day. I saw that it included more about celebrities’ stories, and less about the lives of everyday people. Not the ones looking for 15 minutes of fame, but the ones who really had incredible stories to tell. It became my mission to start a magazine that will tell those stories, and leave the other stuff to everyone else.
What genre do you write? My focus is Inspiration and women’s issues.
What is your most recent book The Faith of Hannah about? The Faith of Hannah chronicles a very dark part of my life, and the steps I took to bring myself out. It also helps women recognize some of the insecurities and unhealthy situations that we live in that bring us to that point. It includes relevant scripture and interactive exercises, all geared toward helping women dig deeper into their psyche and take a realistic look at their lives. The goal of these exercises is to help readers develop a lasting relationship with God and find their individual purpose. The book was written specifically for women, but in my test group I have found that many men learned from it too. Additionally, I interviewed several women who were not avid readers about the length, and they felt anything too long would not be as effective for them. So I made it a quick read, so that each woman who picks it up will actually read it and do the work to be made whole again.
How did you survive domestic abuse? For me, I didn’t really realize that I was in a situation until we were months away from getting married. We get into situations because we are struggling with unresolved internal issues. That was the case with this relationship. He wooed me in the beginning. Was incredible, as well as incredible with my son. But there were flags that I ignored while we were dating. For one, he was incredibly jealous. He felt threatened even by men on my job, and I had to constantly reassure him that he was the one I wanted to be with. After time went by, I noticed a bit of bizarre behavior, and I attributed to stress, as he was going through something. But in reality he had a drug problem that he was hiding that didn’t come out until we moved in together. I would often come home to him high and drunk, with a house full of guys who I didn’t care to know. He would be doing this around my child and me. From there it escalated to grabbing, then trying to tear me down emotionally and mentally. From there came the real abuse. Choking me while I slept. He never came at me while I was awake, because he knew I would fight back, so he would wait until I fell asleep and attack me then. This went on for about a month, before I woke up. The night when I finally had enough is when I saw him start saying negative things about my son and to my son. He would give him dirty looks, and get mad whenever I would give him attention. I started to feel uneasy about what he might do. That very week I took my son to my mother and asked her to please keep him and don’t ask any questions. She did, and I proceeded to get him out of our house. I knew he liked to drink beer after work, so I locked all the bathrooms, and slid something against the doors in the house. The bedroom and hall bathrooms were connected, so I was able to set it up and slip out the house. Later when he wasn’t looking I slipped his key off his key ring in hopes that he would leave the house and use the bathroom someplace. He did. While he was physical with me, he wouldn’t destroy the house, as he was cheap and didn’t want to have to pay for it. I left and stayed gone for a while, and then contacted the rental office and got out of my lease and moved. Once I got out I never looked back. I was a very dark moment, and it took his interactions with my son to open my eyes. While I was too broken to see what he was doing to me, life woke me up quickly when I thought he would hurt my son. Something I would never let happen, ever.
What does self-worth mean to you? Self-worth is the most important thing in any of our lives. If you don’t love yourself, or feel you are worthy of anything good, you will let anyone do anything to you. It is important that everyone, especially women, look at themselves as valuable. It doesn’t matter if no one else thinks so, you have to know it in your spirit that you are valuable, and deserve to be loved, and treated with respect by the world, and most importantly, yourself.
What interactive exercises does your book offer to aid your readers? The interactive section starts out with a Q&A for the reader to be honest with themselves about their lives. About their decisions and about who they really are. This allows them to take an honest approach to healing themselves, and in turn be able to help others as well with their story. Not the ones we tell ourselves to make life bearable, but our authentic testimony that must be addressed, and worked through to be well again. The second part has scenarios. I use seven different scenarios and the reader must answer honestly how they would handle that situation or how reading it affected them. This will help them recognize some things in themselves that they may have missed in the previous section, and have an opportunity to work through that as well.
What is your purpose in life, after surviving depression, and domestic abuse? Wow, that is an awesome question. It took me many years to finally recognize what my life’s purpose is. Life to me was predetermined before we ever took our first breath. As we maneuver through the various roads, each road takes us one step closer to our purpose. My purpose is to ensure that we as women understand that we are incredible beings and are worthy of a beautiful magnificent life. Without the drama and without the self-hatred. So many of us compare ourselves to every other woman we encounter. But my goal with The Faith of Hannah and I Am Not Ashamed is to help women recognize that they are originals, and they were created that way for a reason. I want them to understand that they are enough. I want them to learn to embrace their beauty as well as their flaws, and most importantly I want to be able to help women learn to encourage each other in sisterhood and in truth. Without sisterhood we will always tear each other down.
When you were depressed, what was the darkest moment? My darkest moment was when I was lying in a bed after attempting my life. My life was in chaos. My oldest son who had leukemia was told he wouldn’t make it through the weekend, and my younger son was extremely depressed from watching his brother suffer. I was all alone. No family. No support at all dealing with this. I had a nervous breakdown and tried to end my life, as it became too much for me. By the grace of God, I was saved, and my faith in God helped me accept my journey and accept my situation. It was a long and hard process, and I documented it and from that situation came my book. I had to move through life with the faith of Hannah. Hannah was a woman in the bible who trusted God despite what was happening in her life. She called out to God and he heard her prayers. Not only did God answer her prayers, but He gave her peace and acceptance. That is what I had to learn. And that is what I felt other women needed to know in order to be able to not get to the point that I did. Happily, my life is completely different now. My son is in complete remission, and my other son is doing extremely well. I would have never seen the promise of God if He allowed me to indeed lose my life that day. I would have never seen that He had a bigger plan for me life, and all that I endured was part of the process. I just needed to stop focusing on the problems, and start working toward a solution.
What is the most important takeaway from The Faith of Hannah? You are enough and deserve to life a good and healthy life. No the process of getting there may not always be easy, but it is indeed possible to achieve, and absolutely worth it.
Is there a message behind The Faith of Hannah? The message is to never be ashamed of your journey. It is what formed you. And most importantly, don’t allow anyone to hold you hostage with your story. Yes, sometimes it may be dark and seedy, but if you own it and release that person from having that power over you, life will start to shape up differently. I was ashamed for so long of some of the things that I had been through, but once I released it and stopped making my past a non-issue in my life, I was finally able to heal, recognize my worth, and most importantly love who I was and what I had become.
What is the hardest part in writing The Faith of Hannah? Telling my secrets. I have many secrets in the book. I had to get over it, and not allow the secrets to hold me. So, that hardest part was not giving it power over my life anymore and letting it go by way of story.
What did you enjoy about writing The Faith of Hannah? The cleansing that I felt after finishing each chapter. Each one addressed a different pain, and after each one, I was cleansed. Free. And it could never hurt me again. That was the best part of this process. Knowing that I was no longer a prisoner of my past.
How long did it take for you The Faith of Hannah? It took me about a month to write. It was quite long at first, and I axed about 100 pages, because I didn’t want the reader to get lost in words. I wanted them to find their purpose and be made whole. I felt giving them the meat was more important than all the flowery stuff that just takes up a lot of space, but isn’t effective.
Do you have any children or pets? If so, do they distract you, or assist you with writing? I have two sons. Actually, they inspired me to push forward. The book covers many issues in my life that they are connected to, and it allowed me to really write from my experience after having conversations with them.
What are your writing or publishing goals in the future? As of right now I don’t have any plans as far as writing another book, my goal is my magazine. I publish it bi-monthly, and I feel it allows me to express myself in ways the book can’t. I can change subjects with each issue, and in one month cover cancer awareness, and in the next the struggles of a single mother. The options are endless, and exhilarating at the same time.

How I created and published “The Reading Parrot Named Darwin”
Dear Readers,
After recently publishing my children’s picture book with my co pilot Marvin Alonso. I thought I would give you guys insight on the process.
The first step in my process is writing a detailed manuscript for my illustrator. I have attached my manuscript as a guide for yourself. I hope you save time by using my method of creation.
The second step of the process, you must find yourself a superb illustrator. I will always use freelancers, since I find them easier to deal with.
I had the most difficult time finding my illustrator Marvin Alonso. I must say, he is one of the best I could have found. I could not be prouder to have an Filipino illustrator to bring my stories to life.
As long as I live, I will advocate for people hiring freelancers. I went on to query many artists, who rejected my manuscript. I even went as far as emailing a professional children’s book illustrator’s agent. Which was a total waste of time. Agents are nothing but cock blockers. As I have learned the hard way.
The fact remains Marvin fell into my lap. I was freelancing myself, when I found this extraordinary artist. An author by the name of Lora Lye hired me to promote her children’s book. Here is my author interview with her, https://marysagenguyen.wordpress.com/2015/11/27/no-such-things-as-monsters/
Lora Lye’s children’s book “No Such Things As Monsters” was illustrated my Marvin. After going through many artist who kept rejecting my manuscript. I gave Marvin a shot. We chatted through the freelancing site, I frequent. He gave me a quote and my children’s picture book became a reality.
You can also hire a publishing company to illustrate your children’s book. I know www.lulu.com has children’s book illustrators. I still prefer freelancers.
Now if you want to create a children’s picture book. Be prepared to shell out some cash. For my children’s picture book, I paid Marv about $957.50 through a period of 4 months. That is how long it took for him to take my manuscript and create the illustrations for it. Do not expect your artist to be quick. Like everything else creating something from nothing takes time.
Make sure you do your research and check the illustrator’s background. You definitely don’t want a illustrator who is incapable of achieving results.Marvin was hired by a publishing company and started freelancing after. I loved that he worked in the publishing industry. He also frequently blogs paintings, and so forth that are not freelance related. I knew that he loved his job and love drawing. He also stated in his bio, he wants to strengthen his craft. Which was also a giant plus.
If you are an expert publisher, you know you will need a mobi file for Kindle version of your book aka ebook. To save myself cash, I chose to create my own POD hardcopy, and paperback copy. Marvin later asked me for the POD files I created using Adobe Indesign. It is easy for me to use photoshop, and indesign. I trained myself watching youtube videos, and reading. If you do make your own files, send it to the artist so you can be on the same page. You don’t want inconsistencies in the ebook and POD book.
Now, Marvin created my mobi file for me for an extra fee of course. I definitely recommend authors familiarize yourself with adobe photoshop, and indesign. These two programs will become invaluable to you, with your future publishing endeavors.
Moving on, I can now cross publishing a children’s picture book off my bucket list. I also appreciate the review from for

Why you should enter The Pulitzer Prize.
Dear Readers,
If you are an author, and have published a physical copy of your book. You should consider entering “The Pulitzer Prize for Fiction”. There is a catch, they do not accept e books, or unpublished manuscripts. Your novel must be published as a physical book. The reason I bring this up, is because the success I have had. First and foremost, the prodigious competition only cost $50 per category to enter. Also you can use the subtitle “Pulitzer Entrant for Fiction 2015” on your book’s distributor pages. Most of the public know what the “Pulitzer Prize” is.
It is very simple to enter. First, you go on the website register for an account, and fill out your book information afterward.
The Pulitzer Prize official website:
http://www.pulitzer.org/page/14014
Another catch includes sending four copies of your book. This means you buy books from your publisher, and you have to pay for shipping. For me the cost of entering the competition was about $86 dollars.
Once, you finish filling out your online application for The Pulitzer Prize. Send them the copies of your book. You should receive an email from them after they receive your materials.
To me, it is still worth it. You are entering into the realm of the best authors. Also you can use the subtitle “Pulitzer Entrant for Fiction 2015” on your book’s distributor pages. This subtitle is an important marketing tool for me. With it, I associate myself with a renowned organization.
I would never say, I am a Pulitzer Finalist, or nominated. I know some authors, journalist, and so forth have tried doing this. They have been caught in their lie.
I don’t care about winning. It will not happen. Since my book contains violent imagery. It is all about the experience to me.
Good luck to all the authors, musicians, photographers, journalist, and so forth who have enter The Pulitzer Prize this year.
Thank you for reading,
Mary Sage Nguyen

The difference between an editorial review, and a customer review
Dear Readers,
I have recently had my book reviewed by two major editorial review companies. The two include “The Midwest Book Review” and “Reader’s Favorite”. Both of the companies gave me outstanding reviews. The reviewers actually absorbed the entire book, and got the message. I did recently hire a book publicist to do a blog tour. The reviews I received were unfavorable. Up til now, I thought my book was just terrible. I realized, I gave the book to general public.
With editorial reviews, the companies vet the reviewers. This way it isn’t the general public reviewing your book. Someone who is qualified to review your book, reads it and writes the review.
Onward, I noticed my editorial reviews were proofread, and contained little to no errors. I love customer reviews, and blogger reviews, but I do prefer the editorial reviews.
Here is the review from Diane Donovan, Senior Reviewer for The Midwest Book Review.
“Avery Tran is a normal teenage girl, with a difference: she has kept her imaginary friend from childhood, Venice . But when the two begin to fight, Avery comes to suspect that her imaginary friend is something more deadly. When she engages the services of an exorcist and a psychic, she is forced to realize that her ‘evil twin’ is a force that is capable of using Avery’s body to exact revenge.
Clues to the real origins of Avery’s problems are revealed in the prologue to The Malevolent Twin; but the heart of the story lies in how Avery chooses to deal with something so close to her, and with issues of control and tragedy.
As nightmares turn into gruesome reality (it should be mentioned that graphic violence is part of the plot), Avery struggles with a force that increasingly takes over her body and mind and forces her to do terrible things. Can she guide the growing tide of violence into an arena of justice and good? And why does Venice insist that Avery be her friend?
Bad dreams, suppressed memories, seeming proof that Venice is not a demon but something more … as Avery probes deeper, she uncovers some horrifying truths about her past, Venice’s world, and the dangers that threaten everything and everyone around her.
While The Malevolent Twin might seem directed to a teen audience, it’s the mature reader capable of absorbing a horror story laced with violence who will best appreciate the mystery and danger in a plot surrounding a teen who faces an unusual threat.
As events wind towards a terrible conclusion, the truth about twins good and evil begins to emerge through not just Avery’s experiences, but those of other twins. Readers who believe they know where the story is heading will be intrigued and delighted by a changing story line that holds many surprises.
Events leave the door open for a sequel, but offer a satisfying conclusion to the immediate problem using a dramatic twist that mature teen to adult horror readers will find absorbing and surprising.”
Here is another review from a cool book blogger Laura Thomas. She gave me a favorable review as well.
“The beginning of this book is chilling. I had to go back and check that it wasn’t listed as a horror story. Then I read on and discovered it was Avery having a nightmare.
Avery has had an imaginary friend, Venice, since she was a young girl. Now she’s a young woman, working with her mother in a nail salon, being a good girl and dreaming of something better. Venice still keeps coming around.
As their wills class, as Avery wishes Venice would just go away, Venice turns evil.
Just who is Venice? What does she want? What will she make Avery do next?
Avery must find answers and seeks the help of an old exorcist and a psychic. She fears her time is running out.
I was having such a good time, I read this from start to finish in less than a couple of hours.
It starts with a very creepy scene, then introduces you to Avery and Venice.
Avery is a dutiful daughter and never gets in trouble. Then Venice starts messing with her. She’s forced to do things she’d never consider doing. I felt for her. How do you fight something you don’t understand?
As for Venice, she’s bad to the bone. Such a wicked, malignant villain.
I’ve seen movies and read books with a similar plot and possession and evil entities always give me goose bumps. I know a book is good when I startle at strange noises and see things move out of the corner of my eye.
The Malevolent Twin creeped me out. And I loved that. It’s not easy to spook me anymore. I’ve seen too many scary movies and read too many scary books.
I didn’t know this was going to be a series when I started it. But after I read the end, I knew there had to be. It’s not a cliff hanger, more of a hint of things to come. Evil things. Bad things. I can’t wait.
I received this book for my honest review.”
So here is difference. The review written by Diane Donovan mentioned, the target audience for my book. I know I designed the cover to appeal to young adults. Diane pointed the mature reader would appreciate my book. At the end of Laura Thomas’s review, she pointed out she received the book for an honest review. Which is fine, and dandy. Although, I noticed how much she used the word “creepy”. Laura didn’t talk about target audience or who she recommends to read the book. The editorial review was a little more sophisticated, and detailed. That is the difference.
I appreciate both Laura Thomas, and Diane Donovan for reviewing “The Malevolent Twin”. They are both nice, and charming people to work with. I look forward to working with them again.

ABOUT AUTHOR:
The Tak tse Profit spent most of life observing conditions, circumstances and people. He spent most of his adult life in service to people known and unknown, considering and noting differing factors in life: both in his and other’s. He accepted his commission to share the Philosophy of Etiam Tu: inspired by his young son’s convicting of his heart for having given up on mankind.
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
First I want to thank Tak Tse Profit for doing the interview with me. Read the interview below and found how philosophical he can be.
1. What is your writing process?
My process begins with contemplation on factors, circumstances, occurrences, probablites, and events I witness or learn of related to the theme of my present work. I observe, note and record the things in life that apply to my subject matter. Once these major notes are collected, more detailed research is performed. This allows me to view the facts more accurately. Even though I already know what it is I want to say and the points I want to get across, I still need a collection of facts and data to support my assertions and pronouncements.
I then distill these notes to the probable structure they will occupy in the final written work. I then arrange these in the order they will appear once I write the final draft. Next I write a new version of each of these notes that is almost exactly as the final version will appear. And then Lastly, I write my final version using the listed notes almost verbatim, with the only changes being to accommodate proper grammar and sentence structure. By doing this multi-phased distillation process I manage to avoid plagerism and ensure that my ideas are only based on thoughts and facts, and that are only supported by the notes and not simply revised versions of them.
2. Who are your largest author influences?
Ayn Rand is very influential on me stylistically, both in my swirling disorenting use of description
and unfortunately for the reader, my use of long aparently run on sentences to keep my entire thought in one line. Another who greatly influenced me is the Apostle Paul, who had a matter of fact way of leading the reader to the only possible correct conclusion, which happened to be his point. I found the works of James Madison and Issac Asimov to be thorough and Logical and of course Aristotle.
3. What is your favorite book?
Though I am not entirely impressed with it, Atlas Shrugged is one of the few books I have ever willingly read twice. As a supposed work of fiction it is not that great, in fact it could have ended at the first part, but as a of the harbinger of her coming Objectivist Philosophy it was quite well written to support the importance of recognizing the corruption infesting humanity mindsets.
4. What genre do you write?
I write philosophy. I will be fleshing out the Philosophy of Etiam Tu until I die. I would like to write fictional short stories but I have no time for those.
5. What is your most recent book Etiam Tu: Eradicating Hatred about?
EtiamTu: Eradicating Hatred is the first subject title in the Philosophy of Etiam Tu. Etiam Tu is a philosophy that establishes the proper manner in which mankind is to prosecute their lives together as the dominant species controlling the acknowledgement of the past and it’s application to the present and future, the current real-time present, and the future existence for all life on this planet. It instructs all people to heed the wise contributes of the many scholars, teachers, scientist, philosophers and Holy men of the past, and change our currently self absorbed outlook on life and interactions with our brothers and sisters in the human family. The issue it most immediately addresses is the need for the human race to immediately focus each individuals voluntary personal effort to recognize and adress the need for removal of the influence of Hatred on their lives and the culture and it’s societies as a whole. This book makes a thorough study of how pervasive the culture of Hatred is and the level of saturation its influence has achieved within all of our lives. Finally, establishing that we must change our ways to adhere to those guielines determined to be most beneficial in the form of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It’s goal is to begin a movement at the level of each individual to remove Hatreds influence on the collective human psyche once and for all, forever.
6. What is the most important takeaway from Etiam Tu: Eradicating Hatred?
We are all brothers and sisters existing in a world where Hatred has achieved a position of dominant influence of our cultures and societies. The world we live in and the hope for future existence for ourselves and our progeny depends on our recognition of the dangerous path we have long been on that will in no short amout of time lead to our utter destruction. Therefore we must all recognize this fact and each act individually to correct this problem beginning with the one person whose perception we can contro: our own.
7. What is the Etiam Tu philosophy?
The Philosophy of Etiam Tu is as of yet undefined in writing. Though it’s existence is real it has as yet, not been written for anyone to read or understand.
8. Is it realistic that humanity can eradicate hatred completely and co-exist in peace?
Yes humanity can realistically eradicate Hatred. It will however not be an easy or quick fix. It will require many years and a nearly world wide movement for the adoption of the philosophy of Etiam Tu, but it can be accomplished. What is required is the individual personal commitment to the importance of reaching our goal. Every great task or goal seems insurmountable initially, but history shows the might of the human spirit and will can accomplish whatever it sees fit to attempt. This applies to all manner of desires whether they be feats of engineering, science, medicine or social issues. We can, once we are committed, accomplish anything.
9. What is the hardest part in writing Etiam Tu: Eradicating Hatred?
The hardest part of writing Etiam Tu: Eradicating Hatred was having to spend nearly 10 years with my mind focused on and immersed in the issue of Hatred. I was very taxing on my character and personality. I am unsure how long it will take me to recover from it.
10. How long did it take for you to write Etiam Tu: Eradicating Hatred?
Start to finish, from the beginning of research to submission for publishing Etiam Tu: Eradicating Hatred was 9.5 to 10 years total in the making. It was a very long process.
11. What are your next writing projects?
The next two subject titles in the Etiam Tu book series are Whose God? and VIPreA that is
Voluntary Individual Perception (rational and emotional) re- Alignment. These two items are seperate and yet related topics. Each is vitally important to the advancement of our goal of achieving a world dominantly influenced by the Philosophy of Etiam Tu; thereby advancing our movement towards creating an existence as near to Utopia as can possibly be reached.
12. How can fans reach you?
Fans can contact me via Twitter @TheTtP, or the Etiam Tu page on facebook, https://www.facebook.com/EtiamTu/ but the ideal manner for fans to reach and interact with me is at the Etiamtu.wix.com/blog. That blog is for that specific purpose. They can find a subject list for the book as well as book trailers in 5 languages and ordering information at etiamtu.com. There are other blogs and a website for eradicatinghatred.yolasite.com that explain the philosophy and posted rebooted content from 2014-2015 on the facebook page, but I would consider these secondary sites.

Donna Drejza Interview
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
First I want to thank Donna Drejza for doing the interview with me. Read the interview below and found how comedic she can be.
1. What is your writing process?
Chaotic. Scenes come into my head, like I’m watching a movie of my characters. Then I pass the microphone around and let them speak. I write it down as fast as I can. Then I end up with a big crazy party that needs lots of editing.
2. Who are your largest author influences?
Vladimir Nabokov, Roald Dahl, John Irving, Helen Fielding.
3. What is your favorite book?
Bridget Jones’ Diary. I remember I couldn’t stop reading it – well, only to refill my wine glass.
4. What is your latest news?
I’ve just finished a British TV script called The Playboy, the Poet and the Spy. It’s about an American writer who flies to London to find her soul mate and gets in big trouble.
5. What are the five things people do not know about you?
1. Many are shocked to know I worked at the CIA; yes, they hired a blabber mouth like me!
2. I have a degree in Computer Science – yet have trouble changing a vacuum cleaner bag.
3. I have Synesthesia. This means I mix up my senses. Numbers have colors, voices have flavors. This is great for a writer. Would be bad for an accountant. Nabokov had it.
4. I’m 1/3 psychic. I get snapshots of the future. Trouble is there is no date on them, so I can’t tell if it’s a week away or 7 years away.
5. I’m part American Indian. Not enough to run a casino. I think you have to be ¼ for that.
6. What genre do you write?
Funny Murder Mysteries. Is that a genre?
7. What is your most recent book Palm Beach Busybodies about?
A hapless woman, (me) and her gay best friend and her tipsy pug move to Palm Beach to find love and luck and end up finding a dead socialite. It’s a comedy.
8. How do you come up with characters for Palm Beach Busybodies?
Some are an amalgamation of friends (Kevin) some are fantasy men (Graham, the sexy British Yacht Captain); most just come to me – like Irene, who designs Pug hats and teaches water aerobics to poodles. I don’t know anyone like that.
9. Who are your favorite characters in Palm Beach Busybodies and Why?
I love them all! The zany Irene; The fearless elder Esther Weinstein, The soulful Richard; I’ve enjoyed writing about Graham, especially the sex scenes. Had to have a cigarette afterwards, and I don’t even smoke.
10. Is there a message behind Palm Beach Busybodies?
Eat, drink and be merry!
11. How many books do you read a year?
I have 5 books on the night stand – unfinished. Whenever I start to write, I read a few lines of great writing to get in a writerly mood.
12. What is the last book you read?
To Love a Stranger coming out soon, by John Michael Wilde. Excellent writing.
13. What is the hardest part in writing Palm Beach Busybodies?
Having to sample all that food, drink all that champagne, imagine all that sex. Just kidding. It was the damned re-writes. Having to imagine all that sex all over again!
14. What did you enjoy about writing Palm Beach Busybodies?
I love being with my characters. I can get them to do what ever I want. That’s difficult with real people.
15. How long did it take for you to Palm Beach Busybodies?
The first draft took only 2 months. The next 30 drafts took 4 years.
16. Do you have any children or pets? If so, do they distract you, or assist you with writing?
I have no children – that I know of. I used to have 2 pugs. Stella and Ursula. Ursula was of course a major inspiration for this book. No one could have made up a pug gone wrong like her.
17. Have you traveled for your book, if so where?
I spent many winters in Palm Beach working on this book. I just returned from 4 months in Lugano, Switzerland where I worked on my upcoming novel – the basis for The Playboy, the Poet and the Spy.
18. What are your next writing projects?
(see above)

MY REVIEW:
Tagline: An uncommon murder mystery with humor, and romance!
Palm Beach Busybodies is a fast and comedic read. The author Donna Drejza has developed a zany cast of characters who get themselves into hilarious predicaments. It is extremely entertaining with a side of mystery. The pug is among one of the most amusing characters in Palm Beach Busybodies. The book is also provocative, and is filled with steamy scenes. I recommend this book for anyone who likes murder mystery with an enormous dose of humor.
MORE REVIEWS ON “PALM BEACH BUSYBODIES”
“Amazingly funny and well written. Fast-paced story, easy and addictive to read. Uproarious cast of characters. Deliciously riotous… Move over, Miss Marple, Emma, Kevin and Ursula will take over… Every page made me want to read more. Very entertaining and much fun to read. I hope there will be more firecracker whodunits with this leading cast in hot pursuit. Including pug Ursula, of course. But for a pug, that’s a given…”
—Bea Amazon Review
“Move over Bridget Jones, time for Emma! The adventures of Emma, Kevin and Ursula are funny and witty. The book is a great read and made me smile the whole way through. I was reminded of the first time I read Helen Fielding.”
—Carine Amazon Review
“Very funny and witty! Emma Budnjk reminds me of Bridget Jones, but the wit is also very David Sedaris. I love the wacky characters: Irene; with her crossing Chihuahua, Dr. Phil and Kevin the caterer are hysterical. Good clean naughty fun to read poolside this summer.”
