Dirty Deed Snippet #3
Here is a NEW snippet from Dirty Deeds anthology, coming out January 12th. This tasty little bite is from Diana Pharaoh Francis’s The Pixie Job. Enjoy!
The thing about taking a vacation is that you always feel guilty that you aren’t being productive, or someone wants you to do something you don’t want to do. Case in point: the ghost elf sitting on the lounge opposite giving Mal the fish-eye stare because she refused to go train.
“I told you. I’m on vacation. I promised Law, and the other...

Dirty Deeds Snippet #2
Here we go! A delicious taste of Faith Hunter’s story: Bound Into Darkness, releasing January 12, 2021 in the Dirty Deeds anthology!
Sometime between books 13 and 14 of the Jane Yellowrock Series…
Liz Everhart finished the email, tucked her cell into a back pocket of her jeans, ignored the weird buzz of blood-curse taint that still pulled at her flesh, and tried to decide who she wanted to call for backup on this gig. Finding a lost dog sounded easy on the surface, but it could involve hi...

Dirty Deeds Snippet
Dirty Deeds, an urban fantasy anthology featuring Faith Hunter, Diana Pharaoh Francis, RJ Blain and me is out in just a few days!
This week, I’m going to share some delicious snippets from each author. First up: Sealed with a Tryst by me (a NEW Ordinary Magic story!!) Enjoy!

I parked the Jeep and stared through the rain at my almost-uncle, Crow, who was actually the trickster god Raven. He was waiting just inside the mouth of the tent he’d set up in front of his glassblowing studio. As i...

Why This Road
Wayward Souls, book #1 in my new Souls of the Road series is out now in ebook! (And will be in print very soon.)

I don’t know what put it into my head, but a couple years ago, I suddenly realized I had never driven Route 66.
To be fair, there are a lot of routes and highways and freeways and byways I’ve never driven. But the Route–the Route–I’d never driven that. As a matter of fact, when I started asking people, no one I knew had driven the entire old Route 66.
I may have become a l...

Spooky Season

Halloween is certainly going to be different at our house this year. We won’t be giving out candy or hosting a party. I did finally find the decorations we buried in the storage room during our big basement remodel and put some up.
Still, I think we’ll have some fun. We’re going to carve pumpkins, eat pumpkin (shaped) pizza, and maybe some homemade pumpkin pie. I might even put on a silly hat.
Also, I have a treat to share! The anthology with ...

Friday, Friday

I WALKED OUTSIDE AND SMELLED RAIN AND WET GRASS AND WET DIRT AND WET TREES!
This shouty announcement is brought to you by: Wildfire Smoke in Our Air is No Longer at the “Hazardous” Level – and – We Had A Big Ol’ Thunderstorm Gullywasher Last Night! (Thank goodness!)
The forest fires have been hard (we’ve had the worst air quality in the world for almost two weeks), though we’ve been very lucky the fires didn’t get closer than...

Time for an Update

It’s been a crazy ol’ year! I had big plans, people. BIG plans. And, well…2020 has been all kinds of challenging, so those big plans have changed a bit. But now that things are finally rolling along, I can give some updates.
BOOKS
HELL’S SPELLS, book 6 in the Ordinary Magic series will be out early October! Yay! I know I am unforgivably late on this release, but frankly, I’m just so very happy to say: it’s coming o...

Friday Updates

Hi, Hello!
I hope your week has been good! Got any amazing plans for the weekend? I’m gonna make some progress on the basement remodel. That means either shellacking kitchen cabinets, or helping to get the shower working.
Plumbing or painting. Do I know how to party or what?
Good News: HELL’S SPELLS draft is finished! (cue the victory trombone!) Next up is revision, a copy edit, another once-thru, and then a couple rounds of proof reading. It’s getting closer to done, people!
But that ...
