Faith Hunter’s Two Snippets

Dirty Deeds 2 is out now, and to celebrate, I’m posting snippets from the stories in the collection.

Today we have TWO snippets from Faith Hunter! The first is LIZ AND ELI SITTING, the next is from MAGIC SCHOOL FOR GEEZERS.

Enjoy!!

Liz and Eli Sitting – Faith Hunter

Eli didn’t talk a lot, no chitchat, no chain of consciousness patter, no gushy mushy stuff, so she seldom knew where she stood with him. Not that she needed that kind of emotional validation. Not her. Never. Or, she never had...

Update on Ordinary Magic

Good news! I have finished the first draft of BRUTE OF ALL EVIL, Ordinary Magic #9, and have sent it to my amazing copy editor.

It will hit the shelves June 20, 2022. That’s only six weeks away! As soon as I have a pre-order link, I will post it here.

Will this be the final Ordinary Magic book? I don’t know. I want to say…probably not. But for now, it does close off a three-book arc and ties off some loose ends that began in book #1, DEATH AND RELAXATION.

I can happily report some of ou...

Spring Snow and a Manatee

In the last week we’ve had: snow, hail, frost, ice, rain, sunshine, wind, and nice warm temps. It’s chaotic and curious, and I’ve given up on worrying if I planted or pruned at the correct time, since “plant after last chance of frost” is pretty much out the window this year. 😉

I did get iris, tulips and daffodils in the ground, along with daisies, black-eyed Susans, bachelor buttons, and forget-me-nots, so I’m feeling pretty good about that.

April’s newsletter went out a couple weeks ago, an...

Monday Monk Updates

A couple years ago, I thought it might be fun to start a YouTube channel called Devon Monk’s Works and Worlds. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the thing, but I dove in and filmed a few videos (nervously and at great speed).

Mostly, I talked about knitting, did some knitting on camera, and randomly blurted out writerly stuff. Then a pandemic happened, and the YouTube channel languished.

Until now! I am back at it, with quick 15 minute videos covering updates on writing, knitting...

Frog in the Neighborhood

For the last couple weeks, I’ve thought I’ve heard a frog at my window. We never have frogs in our yard. In all the years I’ve lived here, we’ve had wayward cats, dogs, skunks, possum, snakes, squirrels, raccoons, a variety of birds and butterflies, snails and slugs and bugs, but never frogs.

Every time I went outside to get a better listen…the croaking stopped. I decided it was just a starling mimicking a frog’s croak. But when I walked outside last rainy Wednesday, the frog was croaking, right...

New Year is Here

Happy 2022 to you all! I hope your year has been gentle so far.

We Monks made it through the holidays with fair health and happy hearts. It was, honestly, a wonderful little season with family and snow (and sled races) and twinkly lights.

If you are subscribed to my newsletter (and if not, may I invitite you to give it a try?) you might have noticed there was no December issue, and therefore no December knit toy to be given away. I plan to get the newsletter out in January with a new kni...

Wayward Moon is Here

WAYWARD MOON – book 2 in the Souls of the Road series is officially out now!

This is my…holy cow…30th novel. (Hang on, I gotta breathe for a second. I didn’t realize I was nearing that number!)

Okay. Throw the confetti! WAYWARD MOON (my 30th novel and book two in this series) is out now!

Set along the lonely stretch of Route 66 in Missouri, this is a story of two cursed lovers traveling across America, hunting monsters, and burning magic. There’s love in here, and hope, and found family. T...

New Book – Wayward Moon

Yes! Finally! Wayward Moon, book #2 in the Souls of the Road (Route 66 + road trip + magic, monsters, gods) is available for pre-order! It comes out in ebook on November 15th (print is coming soon), and I honestly couldn’t be happier to have it out the door, and off to (hopefully) provide some delicious, delicious reading.

If you mostly read my Ordinary Oregon series, Wayward Moon is a little more haunting and twisty, maybe a tad bit darker. But it’s still full of good times and good people tryi...

Wobble Gnome Knit

My newsletter went out a few days ago and this is the newest knit I’m giving away in it:

Gnomes and Wobblers by Cindy Pilon https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gnomes-and-wobblers

He’s knitted and felted and weighted on the bottom. The idea is you can take off his hat, give him a little push and he’ll bounce right back upright. While he has achieved the wobble-but-don’t-fall-down thing a few times, he’s not very reliable about it.

He does, however have some mighty eyebrows whic...
