Vet Clinic Selfies

It was time for my one-year booster shot, so my human and I paid a quick visit to the veterinary clinic.

There were dogs in the waiting room — big puppies, really, a golden retriever and a samoyed — but as soon as they were called back, my human let me wander on my leash.

The clinic has a small store with pet food, collars and leashes and stuff, so I did some browsing.

When the dogs came back to the waiting room, my human took me back to my carrier, so I decided to do some selfies.

I don’t think I want that woman in the background of my selfie. Let me try a different angle.

This one is kind of “deer in the headlights,” but I think it’ll do.

Playing Around at PetCo

Since I have no cat shows this month, my human has been taking me to Petco most of the times she has to go. This week, after she picked up some kitty litter, she let me run around on the leash and I met this really cool guy in the employee lounge! He skritched me and petted me and he was really nice. I know, I’m not supposed to go to the employee lounge, but I do every time I’m there. I also wanted to give the cat beds a try, but my human said it was probably not a good idea.

While I was in the sling, I got to check out the aquarium fish — they were fun!

We also stopped by the lizards, but I thought they were boring. They didn’t even move. I don’t know why my human likes them so much.

The most exciting part was that there were actually free samples! A whole bowl of them. I couldn’t believe my luck.

I dug right in! Yum. It was some kind of new freeze dried raw food.

Oops! It was freeze dried raw dog food. Will the PetCo humans be upset if I spit it out?

How many of you love browsing through Etsy.com? I think they have some of the best and most unique cat items, whether you are a kitty or a human! Sadly, I can’t buy absolutely everything I see there, but I wanted to share some of my recent favorites with you!

Isn’t this a cute collar? And I love the little Moon charm! Even better, it’s a breakaway collar to keep you safe! It’s from the Furocious Kitty store. The black and gold would look really nice on my fur, but there are three other color schemes for kitties who may prefer other hues.

For the brief period of time it was available for free, it got 367 downloads, and was the #2 book in the free downloads for Cat Care on Amazon! And that was without promoting it anywhere except to my blog readers and social media. Lots of books get promoted on all sorts of “free ebook” sites, but we kept it fairly low key, if you can call 367 downloads low key! My human hasn’t raised the price yet from the discounted $1.99, and she is going to keep it there for another couple more days before raising it to $2.99, so if you want the Kindle version of Sparkle’s first book at the lower price, then you should download it now!

I’m Not Sorry

In the BlogPaws swag bag, there were several packages of Delightibles cat treats, and most of them went to my Cat World Domination Day winner, but my human kept one for us. We loved these treats. A lot. In fact, when the bag was almost empty, I figured out where my human had put it — and I stole it!

Sure, I chewed up the bag and drooled on it, but technically I didn’t get it open. Besides, I’m not sorry.

And although I didn’t get that bag open, it wasn’t for trying!

And trying, and trying.

And no other kitty was allowed to touch my bag! I do want to say I was polite, though. I did not growl, not even once! If you want to see me in action with the treat bag (before my human threw it in the trash), you can see in the video below.

Catnip Connoisseur

When I was at the Meow Meet during last month’s CatCon, I ran into somebody with a brand new company that sells fine herbs for cats. She offered to send me some samples… as if I would ever say no to that! So a few days ago, this lovely box arrived from Tabby James!

It’s a three-pack: regular cut catnip, fine cut catnip, and valerian root. This isn’t just any old herb, though — they all come from certified organic farms and are 100% chemical free! Each glass jar is sealed airtight so they arrive fresh and potent. And the presentation is both minimal and elegant — perfect for gift-giving.

I decided to give each jar my own discerning sniff test.

The regular cut nip was highly fragrant and sweetly intoxicating.

The fine cut nip is just as intense, with less mess. I thought you humans would like that last part. I was already a little high from the regular cut, so I may have been a little dizzy when I tried this jar.

And the valerian! Wow. I’m surprised I didn’t pass out from pleasure.

After trying out all three, I attempted to pick my favorite. It was difficult.

So I called on my assistant herb testers.

They too were impressed by the high quality and intense fragrance.

In fact, somekitty was so impressed that she decided not to let the other kitty have anymore!
