The Pillar (A Sonnet) | Armor of The World

People come, spend some time with me,
Then they leave and go their own way.
Some leave bidding a sweet goodbye,
Then there’re times I get trashed away.

To the world I am but a pillar,
I’ve accepted that role in society.
But secretly the heart wreaks havoc,
Not being able to hold on to somebody.

There is no cure for my condition,
It’s the price a reformer has to pay.
No world is lifted without sacrifice,
That’s how the being becomes a gateway.

Be a shelter to others in their times of agony.
Once you’ve fulfilled your role in their life,
Do not be a hindrance to their joy and liberty.

I suffer, therefore I am (Loneliness Psychology, The Sonnet) | Armor of The World

Being happy alone is no sign of genius,
It is either narcissism or hypocrisy.
You’ve got to be extremely selfish,
To be happy without human company.

If your heart is alive and human,
Loneliness will cause you misery.
It’s only the self-absorbed animal,
Who don’t need people to be happy.

It’s okay if you are alone and miserable,
It is but a healthy mind’s healthy reaction.
Do not romanticize it with phony philosophy,
For derangement starts with self-deception.

Fact of the matter is – I suffer, therefore I am.
Life is but a cosmic dance between dusk and dawn.

Save Trees, Buy Ebooks (The Sonnet) | Armor of The World

Oh, I know so well, the euphoria of bibliosmia!
So, buy only the priceless books in printed form.
If explorers of knowledge don’t act responsible,
All glory of bibliophilia is fraudulent and wrong.

Literature is just the same, no matter the format,
You gotta prioritize between ebooks and print form.
In pursuit of knowledge ebooks are environment-friendly,
Therefore, keep your print book buying to bare minimum.

We cherish music totally electronically these days,
We no longer clutter the shelves with CDs or vinyls.
Why not do the same with literature, especially when,
Ebooks are to print books what EVs are to gas vehicles.

Printed books will always be special, so buy one book
by your favorite author in print, rest in digital form.
Save trees, buy ebooks, that’s the new book lovers’ norm.

Chrismadan (The Sonnet) | Armor of The World

What happens when two ancient cultures come together!
They create a spectacular specimen called dervish advaitin.
When mistletoe and menorrah combine, heart shines brighter,
Beyond belief ‘n disbelief, there’s a land most enlightening.

Keep your outdated sectarian identities to yourself,
I am Jewistian, Hinduslim, or simply Human Universal.
Be the next civilized step of humankind’s evolution,
Not just another savage vessel of mistakes ancestral.

Revitalized by Ramadan, humanized by Christmas,
Let’s celebrate Chrismadan, as well as Hanukkawali.
Instead of carrying on as second-hand savages,
Habibi come, let us start living with humanity!

When all religions combine, a modern human is born.
Without integration there is no dawn, just endless mourn.

Love is the bane (The Sonnet) | Armor of The World

Love is the boon,
Love is the bane.
Love is relief,
Love is the pain.

From love will come your troubles,
From love will rise your answer.
You’ll fail in love, you’ll fly in love,
In love’s insanity your sight will clear.

Love is torture,
Love is disaster.
Love exposes the counterfeits,
While it purifies the lover.

In a world run by calculating coldness,
be the anomaly of love insensible.
Cure for this anemic world, is your love impossible.

Yet you say, white americans are superior! | Vande Vasudhaivam

White supremacists boast about white americans being superior. Let’s look at it reasonably, shall we – not that you can reason with fanatics!

Most of the third world speaks two or three languages, yet you say, white americans are superior!

Dreamers from the third world bear ten times more difficulty to achieve their dream, yet you say, white americans are superior!

Humankind’s earliest scientific achievements came not from the West, but from the East and the Middle East, yet you say, America is superior – a juvenile
country whose very existence is rooted in humankind’s worst of atrocities.

Well done! You really are superior – in cooking up fiction.

The fact of the matter is, excellence has no race. And the only inferior people on earth are the ones who think of others as such.

We Are Turkiye (The Sonnet) / Biz Türkiye (Bilim Adamının Şiiri) | Vande Vasudhaivam

“We Are Turkiye (The Sonnet)

Earthquake may shatter our houses,
But it can never shatter our hearts.
We shall rise from the rubble once again,
We shall build back against nature’s curse.

But this time let us build back better,
By putting our faith in science not politics.
We could’ve averted such cataclysmic terror,
Had we heeded the warnings of scientists.

A scientist works to preserve life,
Politician plays publicity with death.
Given the choice between the two,
Listen to the scientist without wait.

Why do people have to die
for us to open our eyes!
If we still fail to heed reason,
nothing will stop the funeral cries.”

“Biz Türkiye (Bilim Adamının Şiiri)

Deprem binalarımızı yıkabilir,
Ama hiçbir deprem umudumuzu kıramaz.
Enkazdan biz yeniden yükseleceğiz,
Hiçbir felaket bizi köle yapamaz.

Gelin, milletimizi daha iyi inşa edelim,
Bu sefer siyasete değil bilime güvenelim.
Eğer bilimin uyarılarını dinleseydik,
Böyle bir felaketi önleyebilirdik.

Bilim insanı hayatı korumak için çalışır,
Politikacı ölümle politika oynar.
Herhangi bir karar vermen gerekiyorsa,
Bilim adamını dinleyerek karar ver.

Gözümüzü açabilmemiz için neden
insanların ölmesi gerekiyor?
Hala mantıklı davranmazsak,
cenazeler hiç durmuyor.”

Masterclass for Humans (The Sonnet) | Vande Vasudhaivam

Only the Native Americans are real Americans,
Everybody else is an immigrant.
Before you tell someone to go back to their country,
Start by heading back to Britain yourself.

Only Indigenous people are real Canadians, Kiwis,
and Aussies, everybody else is an immigrant.
Before you yell slurs at an immigrant of today,
Start by heading back to Europe yourself.

Turkey was transformed by one man,
Upon the foundation of thoughts most rational.
Before you bring back the days of fanaticism,
Start by taking down the statues of Mustafa Kemal.

India never had any organized religion,
Brahmin barbarians peddled a myth to have control.
Before you cremate a secular beacon into safron ashes,
Wipe out all memories of Kabir, Ambedkar and Tagore.

From discrimination to assimilation,
That’s how we walk the course of progress.
Till every trace of intolerance is history,
Keep on struggling against mindlessness.

Love Sensible is No Love | Amor Apocalypse

To hear is to be heard,
To see is to be seen.
To speak for is to be spoken for,
Clean mind makes the world clean.

Just mind makes the world just,
Just heart makes the head just.
Just civilians make democracy just,
Just household makes the neighborhood just.

The world inside is the world outside,
When there is love inside there is love outside.
The beauty inside is the beauty outside,
When there is sense inside there is sense outside.

To sense nonsense is the highest sense,
To sense love is even higher sense.
To put all sense under love is higher still,
If there’s no love in senses, all sense is nonsense.

Love sensible is no love,
You can have either sensibility or love.
If love doesn’t wipe out all our fake order,
It ain’t love but mere ravings of the daft.

“Love alone brings order eternal,
Order brought by law is shortlived.
Only selfless lovers make good lawmakers,
All others are just playing make belief.

Let love come as apocalypse and wipe out,
All that is rigid, all that is prehistoric.
Welcome love into your life as a purifying force,
Let it bring you to life anew and terrific.

Life is terrific when life has love but,
To have love and to have lover ain’t the same.
Lover isn’t one who has someone to love them back,
But one who radiates love,
despite living in drought without rain.

None knows the value of rain,
But the land of eternal drought.
None knows the value of love,
But the heart that loves despite hurt.

Only the one who knows pain,
Can love another without gain.
Only the heart that knows hurt,
Can help another without rain.

Women Run Better (The Sonnet) | Vande Vasudhaivam

Men only inherit the world,
Women give birth to the world.
If women can birth the world,
women can run the world
(far better than men).

History reveals, war is a masculine merchandise,
Whereas preserving life is an act of the feminine.
Masculinity bears inclination for competitiveness,
Femininity is synonymous with synergy and cohesion.

That’s why female leaders
can step down more gracefully,
making way for new minds at the helm,
Whereas their male counterparts would
rather take their position to the grave.

Femininity is not a reproductive quality,
Femininity is the source of all rejuvenation.
No matter what gender or orientation you are,
Nourish your femininity, and there’ll be ascension.
