Mainspring of Life (A Sonnet)

I have no nationality except humanity,
I have no tradition except compassion,
I have no religion except liberty,
I have no god except a family of 7 billion,
I have no belief but only awareness,
I have no creed but only acceptance,
I have no messiah except the self,
I have no scripture except my conscience,
I have no gospel except godliness,
I have no sermon except thought,
I have no philosophy except oneness,
I have nothing to give you except love a whole lot,
I demand no obedience, nor do I desire worship and offering,
For there is death in worship, and freedom is life's mainspring.

Trance of Totem (The Sonnet) | Vande Vasudhaivam

This is my decree to my soldiers of the future,
Refrain from raising my giant lifeless structures!
Use the funds to build schools and hospitals instead,
Providing free/affordable education and healthcare.

Keep me alive in your heart, not in dead statues,
each one taller and more extravagant than the other,
Just so self-absorbed snobs could take the perfect selfie,
to declare an empty alliance with humanitarian behavior.

If you must have symbollic momentos of me around,
Keep them personal, humble and utterly non-extravagant.
Always remember, I am honored with your acts of love,
not with your thousand feet statues and chants unsapient.

It’s a sad state of affairs, when virtues
gather moss upon the monuments of hypocrisy.
Break your trance of totem poles,
be the freedom you are meant to be!

Sonnet 1103 | Vande Vasudhaivam

Our ancestors are not the boss of us,
Life must be dictated by living conscience.
Dead people may have the right to make suggestions,
But they do not have the right to issue mandates.

Our ancestors belong in history books,
Our descendants belong in comic books.
Only we are alive to belong here and now,
Don’t waste that life, submissive to books.

Too much involvement in the past cripples your present,
The same is true with too much involvement in the future.
If you are oblivious to the human condition of now and here,
Ignorance and intellect will equally end up causing disaster.

Use past and future as markers of direction,
But never as authority on living tradition.

Love Who You Like (The Sonnet) | The Peace Testament

Love who you like,
Wear what you like.
Have kids when you like,
Above all, live as you like.
Only thing that matters is that,
You don’t fan the flames of hurt.
The only gospel of life is that,
There is no other gospel but love.
Obscene mind finds obscenity everywhere,
For the outside is but a reflection of the inside.
Less of the pomposity and more of the character,
That is how we shall harness our forces civilized.
I only know of one holiness, it’s called kindness.
Without it, all scriptures are scum,
and all courts are incognizant.

Cast Fiction to The Wind (The Sonnet) | Divane Dynamite

The candle’s purpose is to be lost in light,
The heart’s purpose is to be lost in love.
The ocean may try the sailor all it wants but,
The naive sailor is lost in the ocean’s love.
The sailor and the sea are not two but one,
The candle and the light are not two but one.
The heart and love are not two but one,
Individual and collective are not two but one.
Purpose of human is conquest over the inner animal,
Purpose of a human is the expansion of humanity.
Everybody grows old, not everybody grows up,
To die without growing up, is the greatest tragedy.
Life is too short to be wasted on half-cocked may be’s!
Cast fiction to the wind, and make the most of reality.

Verb Over Noun (The Sonnet) | Visvavictor

I do the best of my writing,
When I don’t feel like a writer.
I create the best of my philosophy,
When I don’t feel like a philosopher.
I write the best of my poetry,
When I don’t deem myself a poet.
I publish the best of my science,
Walking just a pilgrim of knowledge.
Labels we hold dear often hold us captive,
So do not take the acronym for the act.
Designations can’t contain the designated,
Move past the noun and let the verb enact.

Tierratitan, Sonnet | Abhijit Naskar | World War Human: 100 New Earthling Sonnets

I only have one advice for you,
own your life, from head to toe –
unapologetically alive and original,
not a carbon copy, with second hand woe.

Civilization is not a conjuring trick,
Civilization is a long labor of life.
You don’t figure out everything overnight,
You figure out things over time.

Sweet dreams are made of sweat-n-dare.
Sweat makes it sweet, dare brings it true.
Sweet society is made of reason-n-care,
When I’m your shelter, my shelter is you.

I be your vision, you be my mission.
Divided we drown, together, Tierratitan.

The God Commandment (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, The God Sonnets

Love who you like,
stay single if you choose.
Have kids when you like,
or abort if you choose.

Keep god or not as you need,
convert to whatever you like.
There is no other grand design,
except a beautiful human mind.

What you believe or don’t is of no
consequence, one true god or another.
Imaginary friends are often therapeutic,
just don’t thrust your friend on another.

In my heart there is Mecca,
in my heart there is Bethlehem.
Humans come first, gods are disposable,
human choice is the God commandment.

Life is My Laurel (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Kral Fakir: When Calls The Kainat

You say, I’m not a real scientist!
Alright, I am not.
You say, I’m not a real philosopher!
Alright, I am not.

You say, I’m not a real writer!
Alright, I am not.
You say, I’m not a real poet!
Alright, I am not.

I have accepted certain work-titles,
for the world’s convenience, not mine –
if anything, lables-n-titles are
hindrance to my immeasurable mind.

I need no seat at your table of ivory,
for alien is none in the universe I am.
I lust after neither gold, nor laurels,
for life is my laurel – you keep your honors,
I’ll still be just the same Himalayan Human.

What is A Naskar Sonnet (2312) – Abhijit Naskar, Kral Fakir: When Calls The Kainat

In the Naskar world, sonnet is not
an elitist structure of rigid rhyme and meter,
Naskar sonnet is a self-contained unit of
civilization, indifferent to literary convention.

I weave sonnets around the message,
instead of forcing the message into the sonnets.
Till you cut the cuffs of form, don’t touch my works,
if you want method and structure, pursue mathematics.

Childish eurocentric conventions are too puny
to contain the vastness of a transcendental human,
sometimes I’m Dervish, sometimes Advaita,
and the Brain Scientist keeps out the superstition.

Every mind is infinite, every mind, transcendental,
ape customs castrate the human into farm animal.
Cut the wings of a dove at birth,
and it’ll spend its life crawling like vermin.
