What They Don’t Teach You At Any Conventional School

Most of humanity has been living at a very low level of awareness, namely only at an outer level. Since we are very young, we learn about how to read, write, count, play, win, earn, aspire and succeed through routine life. Our education system has seen quite a few positive changes, such as fun-based education, vocational training, gender equality and cultural sensitivity. But what are we really missing in our academics today?

There are seven types of education needs that require attention and nourishment.

Physical: Right from the time we are born we learn about physical awareness, personal care, kinesthetic skills and slowly get engrossed in the ‘world process’. This training is given throughout our pre-nursery, nursery and preparatory education. [image error]
Sensory: As our foundations are built in sensory awareness we learn various creative skills including art, crafts, music, dance and literature. The idea is to enjoy interacting with our environment with all our senses as taught to a certain degree in our primary to secondary schooling as well as in specialized learning centers. [image error]
Mental: We grow into thinking about our world and how to succeed in it through career skills that are in-demand in the outer world, primarily science, technology or business in our maturing years through college. Learning theoretical concepts, various rules and their application seems to be the primary concern for most of our educational institutes and for most parents who worry about ‘what the kid will be’ in the commercial world of grown-ups.[image error]
Heart-based: We learn how to be kind and loving as human beings and to be in tune with our inner nature through our feelings and not just through rules and regulations. Our education system has been more or less mind-centered while lessons of the heart are experienced through our own relationships and heart opening experiences. We need to learn how to be in-touch with our own heart and soul through education that allows us to follow our heart and be aware of our inner source of love, healing and compassion. [image error]
Truth-seeking: We all need to be able to talk to our inner self with honesty and trust. Sometimes schooling prohibits our truthful introspection by focusing only on talking to others. We end up copying the world and repeating what we learn through books or through rules via mental absorption and shallow self-expression. We need to learn how to listen and talk to our inner-self, and not just with people around us so that we can discover higher truths.[image error]
Inner Power: Our higher energy center awakens through meditation when we stop looking only outside and begin to look within. Our own intuition begins to develop. We learn to see beyond our thoughts and to be aware of something beyond the mind and beyond distance and time. As we learn how to use visualisation towards conscious manifestation of any situation in our life we suddenly we begin to see the maya of the world for what it is, merely a projection of our subconscious mind-stuff. Yet, only a small fraction of our population ever get to really experience or accept this important inner awakening which our world-focused education system is yet to discover. [image error]
Self-realization: Within each of us is a source of great peace and truth. As we realize from the dream of this illusory physical universe and no longer crave for mere material or worldly success, we experience for the first time a deep sense of inner contentment. This is the energy center of higher wisdom where our consciousness is fully awakened and we no longer feel separate from who we call God or Creator. Our education system will be unable to fully offer this training as this experience can only happen from within. yet, our schooling must evolve in order to inspire us through meditation and self-introspection to help us question reality and seek the truth about who we are and why we are here.[image error]

As we can see, a love for inner truth and higher awareness has so far been totally ignored in conventional education. If some schools have started to include yoga and meditation in their curriculum, it has been more or less presented as a technique for physical wellness and stress management to help us cope with academic and material life, and not as an truly awakening experience that sets us free from the ‘matrix’ of unconsciousness.

The result – a world where most people have been deeply asleep. On one hand we have extremes of materialism and addictions to external things, and on the other we have escapism, illness and suicide.

When people are unaware that creation flows from within them through their heart, soul and inner-vision, we see a world plagued with frustration, crime and poverty. Struggle and strife became the bane of existence with only an outer level education. The feeling that the world is very big and we are small, powerless and need a lot of money, fame or acceptance by society is the illusion that gave birth to a great sense of insecurity, meaninglessness and anger.

We all have been ‘dumbed down’ through ignorance based religious texts that inspired hate, division, fights and dogma by preaching blind-faith in external deities. We were doctrinated into gender discrimination, sexual dominance, racial superiority, religious pride and ritualistic superstition by belief in scriptures that prevent real conscious inquiry.

So what can be the solution?

We as awakened adults need to first learn and then teach both our kids and other adults on a priority basis that:

1. We are in the world to be conscious and awaken to the True Self from within.

2. The outer world is an illusion that we are all manifesting through our personal and group consciousness.

3. We are all interlinked through an invisible matrix of minds, yet we exist as One Universal Soul at the creator level consciousness to which we are all meant to return.

Two major obstacles have been in our way and it is time to rise above them.

a. Religious fears can and should be challenged so that we can exit the false illusion of bookish systems of fundamentalism and understand that it is the inner self that needs to be awakened to create a better world. Blindly believing in rituals or scriptures even though they have been severely negative and confining, merely because our ancestors and family members have done so has led to a divided and ignorant world.

b. Scientific blindness has to be cured by understanding that science is an observation of outer world, whereas spirituality is to experience your own inner creator power for yourself regardless of seeking everyone’s approval through technical proof. Infact other people’s disbelief creates their own reality of a ‘non-magical’ world in which they are not in the center of creation. Each one of us has to awaken from within and to learn how to live as conscious beings of light.

The Five Step Panacea to Anger

We all feel angry or upset at times and usually end up feeling even worse when we start expressing our anger outwards, especially when the person whom we are annoyed with retaliates or ignores us all the more.

Here are five simple steps that can help us manage our anger and transform it to peace:

STEP 1: Relax, Ground and Center. While many people advocate venting out our anger and expressing it fully as a release of emotion, there are some ways in which we can release all of the negative energy without actually harming others or our-self. A simple relaxation technique is to take a couple of minutes wherever you are to focus on your natural breath as you gently close our eyes and count down from ten to one. Feel all the stress flow down from head to toe and all the way into earth leaving you feeling much lighter. This way we quickly bring our heart rate and mind-rate down to a calmer level for clearer thinking. Catharsis can be another way in which we release anger in an inanimate object such as a pillow, however for those few minutes we still can experience agitation and negativity that sometimes harms our health from within. Meditative techniques such as the one given above can be quick and effective while enhancing our health and wellbeing at the same time. [image error]

STEP 2: Focus Within on the Real Inner Need. Continuing to be angry can sometimes keep us focused on something outside of us and beyond our influence at times, thereby blocking our energy or wasting it. As we calm our energy down and ground ourselves using the above method, we can  can get down to focusing back on ourself or our real needs that will bring us true joy instead of spending countless amounts of energy and time in focusing on something frustrating. All anger is merely a reaction at something that did not feel quite right because of a real inner need that was not being met. We were in-fact looking for a solution to something that was simply out of balance in our life and the truth is, the solution is still well within our reach. Escaping to spas, shopping or daydreaming can be a temporary approach to change your mood but not the real solution which is ultimately based on a recognition of what matters.

STEP 3:  Know that the Solution is Within You. By focusing on our inner need for we can now direct all our energy positively at meeting that need. We are not really angry at someone else or even at ourselves. We simply want something positive for ourself that we are quite capable of providing for our-self. For example we might be upset that we are late for work in which case the issue is a fear of being reprimanded by our colleagues, or a fear of losing our job. Translated into something positive, this merely indicates a deep inner need for enjoying your day at work. This can still be achieved to some or the other extent, regardless of the fact that you are late. Similarly if we are angry because our spouse was cheating, what we really need is honesty and integrity in relationships and this can be found regardless of how our partner behaves because we are still in-charge our choosing the course of our relationship.

STEP 4: Focus on Experiencing Joy. Once we do recognize that our anger is not really at someone but merely a sign to focus on what we need, we can get down to the basics of how to meet that real need. As we look within we find that there are wonderful alternative solutions. We might be able to discover better ways to fulfil our goals instead of feeling stuck because of someone or something that does not seem to work in our favour. For instance, if the need is to have a good day at work then instead of being angry that we are late, we can put all our attention to the ways in which we can improve our work with whatever time we have left, because quite simply we cannot bring back the lost time. Similarly we can focus on being honest in our relationships and seeking honesty in future instead of feeling stuck with someone who is not right for us. Ultimately we need to bring attention to that which brings joy from within and take the right steps towards experiencing that joy right now.

STEP 5: Trust Your Higher Self. We all have a higher version of ourself in the form of our own wisdom that is hidden within all our confusions and uncertainties. Regardless of how complex and tiring our situation may seem there is always this best version of our-self that can come to our aid. When we do start trusting this Higher Self, we find that amazing things happen with much lesser effort than what our anger and struggle were producing. Sometimes things do not go a certain way because there is a better way that will in-fact bring us true joy and fulfil our highest potential. There can be hidden opportunities to be discovered with everything that seems to go wrong. Being serene and trusting that there is great positive energy within us and somehow it will bring us exactly what we need will literally create miracles that you can see for yourself. Thinking of all the ways in which we can meet our inner needs and putting great mental and physical effort into working things out is one approach. Allowing the universe to work it out by magic through faith in our Higher Self and then taking the next step with relaxed positivity is another.

Seven Positive Ways of Celebrating Halloween

Halloween in recent times has been more of a horror show with witches, skeletons and ghosts portrayed wrongly as scary beings.  Here are a few positive celebrations of Halloween to help us release our fears and deepen our spiritual connection:

Celebrate Harvest: The end of summer or Samhain (pronounced Sow-in or Saw-ain) is a celebration of the pagan or farmer’s new year and final harvest of the old year. Pumpkins and autumn fruits such as apples are enjoyed in plenty to help us gather stock for the coming colder months. Smiling Jack-o-lanterns made of carved pumpkins are one such example of a positive symbol of festive joy and not really a scary decoration.

Spiritual Messages: The festival of Halloween is also called Hallows Eve or All Souls Day because is a good time to consult intuition for guidance from your angels and spirit guides and send positive thoughts and prayers to departed ones. Consulting intuition and oracle cards, angels and tarot were methods of receiving guidance regarding the coming period of time so that we can walk in faith and belief that higher forces are always there to support our journey with messages.

Honour the Dead: Halloween is based on an ancient tradition of praying for the deceased and ancestors including our beloved family members and our ancient predecessors who had created our tribes on earth. We can light candles and keep offerings on graves or personal altars of the departed as well as visit ancient places of ancestral power such as stone circles for blessings and communion.

Victory of Inner Light: Whether in Halloween or Diwali which is a similar festival at around the same time, lamps are lit to drive away darkness and celebrate the victory of inner light through prayers and celebrations. When the nights grow longer and seasons change to cold, it is only our own warmth and light from our hearts that gladdens the spirit.[image error]
Sacred Not Scared: We can honour the end of summer and the upcoming months of winter as a sacred period on earth when it is time to contemplate and go within in contrast to the outdoorsy period of summer. This is a tide when we meditate and discover our own inner spirit and the power of meditation, contemplation and inner peace. [image error]
Magical Time: We all have an inner spirit that is wise and timeless. Witches and Wizards as old men and women were meant to be channels of wisdom who can offer advise, guidance and household cures, your great grandmother for example who used brooms for cleansing and potions for healing. We can all enjoy and connect with real magic which is all about inner healing through nature and having harmless fun. [image error]
Give and Share a Treat: On Halloween it is believed that any wandering soul visiting us must be offered a treat for blessings and good cheer so that we celebrate abundance instead of being tricked into fear or feelings of lack when a stranger knocks at our door. We must not be fooled by outer appearances or masks because the stranger at your door who pretends to be a scary monster could simply be a friend or the child from next door. [image error]

In whichever way you celebrate endings and new beginnings, the idea is to keep learning about the sacredness of our spirit.

Who Created The Universe?

We all seem to be alive in this world, working for money, learning things, enjoying sensory experiences….but who are we and why are we here? Who has sent us here? Are we living in an mentally projected illusion or in a fixed reality? Who has crafted the structure of this elegant universe?

There are four kinds of beliefs and your views are likely to fall into one or more of these at any point of time. This is a chance to read and reflect upon your own understanding rather than an answer to the questions above. You might find your awareness shifting if you remain open.

Viewpoint 1: Why Bother?

Most people in recent times seem to be so absorbed in the business of what they call life, that they simply do not find time to ask these big questions. They go on about their existences as if the questions above are completely irrelevant. According to them as long as they are following the crowd and doing exactly what they are told or taught by their schools and workplaces, it is quite sufficient as they are ‘confirming’ to the rules of the world and being consumers. Moreover a large part of this population has also believed that it is impossible to actually prove any point of view regarding creation and creator, therefore entangling ourselves in these type of thoughts gives absolutely no solution. Religion they have seen, has been a waste of time and has led to strife and wars, instead of any real benefit. Therefore they pursue their day to day existence as  materialists, or as those among atheists or agnostic who do not wish to spend much time in spiritual self-reflection or realization, while focusing attention on media, shopping and outer information instead. Enjoying money, body and power, or being unhappy, angry or jealous when we do not have enough and others do…they may blame circumstances, conspiracies and the world system for all that they feel is wrong while at the same time trying out some form of spirituality or religion as a quick fix or escape whenever convenient, without going too deep.

Viewpoint 2: An External Entity or Alien Created Us

Even among those with a scientific temperament, the belief that we are living in a simulated reality is strong. Science fiction as well as conventional religion has put many of us in a ‘matrix’ mindset of an AI created world or an entity created reality. Their reasoning stems from an external observation of the universe that reveals its magnificent fractal patterns and perfect geometry, as well as the highly intelligent order in everything, from our atoms to cells, to organisms and galaxies. This wonderful structure of our world seems to indicate the presence of a digitally precise ‘creator entity’. Naturally it has to be a person who is of a superior intelligence, higher than an average human. Could it be an AI with superior computer brain-power who printed our original and self-replicating designs and patterns of life with evolution ‘programmed in’? Or have alien beings from a higher world or a scientifically more advanced star-civilisation, whether good or evil, ‘seeded’ us on earth for purposes best known to them. Reptilian, Draconian, Pleiadian, Arcturian, Sirian…there may be several alien beings with various interests, say these theorists. Alien abductions seem to be a norm among these believers who feel that physical yet invisible spaceships can materialize around us anytime and beam us up. The way our genes have been designed and the gaps in the conventional ‘Darwinian models of evolution’ also pointed some of us to an external hand in the development of our consciousness. But, the question remains – if we were created by an external entity, then who created that entity?

Viewpoint 3: A Divine ‘God’ Who Is Apart from Us Created Us

While alien simulation theorists might believe in an external creator being or many creators who are either neutral, benevolent or selfish, monotheistic religious believers worship and pray to an external entity they call God imagining Him to be a divine, all-seeing being who was created himself and can fulfil wishes and help us when we are in trouble. Why did this God create us? Is it because he simply wanted someone to interact with,or to fulfil his creative ideas? And were our ancestors banished down on earth because we disobeyed God? Will seeking repentance for this and other ‘sins’ make him forgive us and accept us back. Does this God person wish us good or simply wish for us to obey or ‘submit’ to him as many believe. Must we let go of all our earthly desires and like faithful slaves, surrender to the higher will of God who is far away from us and wants us to return to Him? Will converting other people and guiding them to serve ‘God’ through the ‘His word’ found through religious books and commandments as spoken by His chosen Prophets, Messiah or a special Avatar please Him and win us favours in his heaven and paradise when he accepts us back for all our ‘good work’ down here on earth? Those who believe ‘Yes’ do so only because their chosen books and religions have said this. Some of them do say ‘God is Love’ but not our inner love within us. He is according to most believers, an ‘outer’ being who they hope will love them as his special chosen family if they join specific religious groups or sects and follow their books, beliefs or methods of worship.

Viewpoint 4: The Creator is Within Us

Surprising to the holders of viewpoint 3 above, there is a growing tribe of meditators who say that God is Within. Those who believe that God is far away, are stunned beyond measure. How can we in this limited human body, with all our flaws and weaknesses, ever compare ourselves to God, the creator of all there is. Can we create the world? Can we simulate reality, situations and even other beings through our ‘third-eye’ or visualization skills or through the magical power of thoughts? Can we heal ourself and our planet without calling upon an external God? The only way to find out is to look within. If we stay asleep and keep following other people’s beliefs, we can only go as far as they have on this wonderful journey of self-discovery. When we try to meditate and awaken our own consciousness, many of us begin to work magic. We can witness exact realities being created to match our wishes and desires. People, situations, events, work, health…no matter what we hold within our heart and mind, we can manifest in our life, regardless of religion. We seem to have the power of the Creator at least to some extent. Could it be that our own Higher Self is the all-creator at some higher dimension of consciousness? Do we have parallel existences as a higher being beyond our physical and mental self? Have we created our world and forgotten who we are? Or is there an external entity of person, Alien, AI matrix, God or Devil who has been granting our wishes while we believed it was our Higher Self or Inner Self? Again if there was an external entity. whether good, evil or neutral, responsible for manifesting our life, then who created that entity? Surely there is a need to go deeper and discover the Highest One and realize that if everything has emerged from that One Source, then we must carry this source energy very much within our-self.

Are we fools to believe in our inner-self and doomed or condemned to Judgement Day or Hell just because we believe in our own innate powers of love, intuition and healing? Or are fear based notions the result of centuries of ignorance and self-victimization?

Spirituality, in contrast to Conventional Religion or Science is all about

Finding the inner source of divine love and compassion
Awakening our naturally endowed divine powers to heal and help our-self and others regardless of religion or belief
Being able to manifest our own positive reality and highest good
Refraining from judging, fighting with or converting others
Realizing the illusory nature of reality by recognizing our mental-projections all around us in our daily life
Focusing on discovering what is within us instead of being absorbed in outer world
Learning to raise our unity consciousness through meditation, intuition and self-introspection

Whether through science or religion, if we keep looking for a creator outside us, we may only find illusion or ‘maya’. We need to find our connection with the highest One creative source through a deeper inner realization instead of just believing in an external entity or simulator God/Gods/ Devil/ Alien/AI. No matter what science or religion might say, we can choose to stay open to self-discovery beyond any rigid belief.

Five Steps To Wish Fulfilment and Prayer

We often hear from believers, worshippers and devotees that they are frustrated. ‘Why are my prayers and wishes not being answered?’, they ask. Following spiritual techniques, methods and rituals taught by their chosen spiritual centers and religious or faith groups, they are confused about why they did not receive their wishes yet. ‘If there is a God then why is He/ She not there for me?’, is a common question.

Here are Five Steps that you can take to find your inner peace and allow your healing or wish-fulfilment through any prayer or technique of your choice, regardless of religion or spiritual lineage.

Choose a Worthy Cause: Prayers and wishes can be so many but not all wishes are good for us and others. There may have been people who try to curse or wish others harm, while some others simply wish for something limited when there is something much better waiting for them and they could not see it. Therefore ask yourself – ‘Does my wish really help someone?’ It could be for just yourself, your loved ones, someone you thought about, something impersonal or transpersonal or selfless such as global healing or a charitable cause. If it does not harm someone and is for the good of at least one being, it could be a worthy cause. Make your wish in the form of a statement in the affirmative. Keep your wish open by including ‘or something better’. For example: ‘May I get this opportunity or something better right now’, or ‘May my friend’s surgery be a success, or may he find a better alternative that brings perfect health’, or ‘May the homeless family find a healthy home and live a happier, more purposeful life.’[image error]
Believe in It with Passion: Feel and imagine how it will be to have this wish fulfilled. Does it make you feel wonderful? Let the positive feeling sink in deeply into your mind, heart and soul.  The love and passion we put into making our wishes is also an energy that goes in towards manifestation of the wish. Feeling is healing. Positive feelings of love, compassion, gratitude, kindness, wellbeing, peace and abundance, bring about positive transformations in our situations. Carrying unhappy and angry vibrations in our heart can send the opposite energy out so heal yourself deeply and emotionally so that you can begin to believe in your best and the best for whoever you are praying for. If you really believe in it with all your heart, it will be more likely to come true.[image error]
Be Open to the Healing: Are you ready to experience this wish being fulfilled in wonderful and delightful ways? Your wish may be fulfilled in an expected or unexpected manner. You may find that you magically and miraculously find what you need even before you get to the point of seeking help. Or it may simply be through effort. Similarly you may have expected your wish to be fulfilled in a specific time-frame, however it may come about sooner or later but at a time when it benefits the most. Do not worry about how and when, and do not feel angry or frustrated as negative feelings might block you further. Sometimes some paths are closed because we need to develop our-self further or raise our consciousness first. Keep working on yourself by increasing your own inner peace, love and trust, because that is the jewel within you that needs to shine all the time.[image error]
Feel Deserving: Sometimes we want something but there is a part of us that is criticising us, judging us by our past, or making us feel guilty of having what we ask. We might feel that there are others who are far more worthy, or that you are not so important in this large universe with billions of people on earth itself. We waste our time in blaming others and ourself for all the problems we have found our-self in because our logical mind looks for answers to ‘why we have those problems?’ and ‘what or who has caused the problem?’ Anger towards others or our-self might have been blocking the good of all concerned in these situations. We have to feel deserving by being peaceful and positive right now, regardless of past. Let go and forgive yourself and all concerned and replace all that negative energy or stress with love. [image error]
Self Realization: Prayers are answered if we let them go to the higher power that we pray to, who is not necessarily just an external entity that ‘grants wishes’. We are here in the universe for a divine purpose. We have to learn and grow our inner self and enhance our own vibrations. Our inner spiritual development is the key to manifestation. Rituals and complex rites are not always necessary. Some of us can manifest wonderful realities almost immediately merely through a little affirmation. Those of us who find the inner center and peaceful, loving consciousness are more likely to manifest easily than those who are merely into blind-faith or superstition. We have all come from the same One source which is higher than any limited personality or form. Religious differences about the name or form of this power are meaningless. For all we know, the higher power that we are praying may simply be found deep within our own loving consciousness. [image error]

Five Ways of Refusing to Be a Victim

We might have heard of the recent social media trend #MeToo that encourages women to come out and admit that they have been victims of harassment in the past.

#MeToo is a laudable effort by Alyssa Milano of Charmed fame to support Rose McGowan who played her witchy sister in TV show, among other Hollywood female stars who have made allegations of rape against a popular producer. Now #MeToo has spread all over the social media showing that rape and sexual harassment are not limited only to celebrities or Hollywood but to almost every woman who has grown up in a masculine dominant environment.

Whether at work or at home, even within their own marriages women have been subject to domination by the male gender, both sexually and otherwise.

But the question that most awakened women are asking is different. How do we now refuse to continue this trend of being victims and emerge as divine creators of our fate instead?

Positive Instead of Negative Affirmations: It should be #MeTooNoMore to show that we might have been victims in the past but from now onwards we refuse to be victims. Our beliefs create our own reality so why not affirm a clear refusal to accept a life of fear and victimisation. Also we must have campaigns to make men understand the meaning of ‘NO’.[image error]
No Guilt or Shame: Encourage yourself and others to reveal their stories of being victims in the past. The problem of rape and sexual harassment is common but swept under the rugs because of a certain social stigma that keeps women quiet. Instead we need to applaud women who share their stories whether or not with the #MeToo hashtag, simply because it helps remove the guilt or shame that women have been dominated through. At the same time remember that the story was the past and no longer needs to be our present or future. Treat victims with love and encourage them to let go of the pain.[image error]
No Blaming Yourself: Often women are blamed for ‘attracting’ or ‘causing’ their own rape or sexual harassment. While some people blame their clothing, others go as far as blaming their own karma or past lives, both of which are terribly flawed approaches to the issues. Someone else’s negative karma or harmful actions are their own bad karma and the victim is not to be blamed. Instead they should be applauded for bringing a criminal to the law. Similarly clothing or beauty is not what attracts rape because such incidents may be prevalent with innocent children or women in hijabs while women who project confidence and live by their own rules may actually be able to deter attackers to an extent.[image error]
The Root of the Issue: The social root of rape and sexual assault of women has more to do with our collective consciousness or spiritual frequency than meets the eye. In a world where we all are spiritually more content and at peace with ourself, deriving pleasure from dominating others is out of the question. We need to spread more spiritual peace and meditation among all genders. We can encourage men who display kindness and compassion and who are in balance with their inner feminine side instead of focusing on the negative ones.[image error]
The Divine Feminine and Masculine: In a world where women are not even treated as humans with equal rights in certain countries or cultures, it may seem hard to promote the concept of a feminine power or divinity that is the creator of the universe. Centuries of referring to God as ‘He’ and praying to ‘Him’ are no longer the way to an equal world. Let ‘Her’ be equally praised and worshipped as ‘She’ the creator, because the divine creator is not limited to a single gender. More importantly it is not an external being but our own collective consciousness that creates a collective reality called the universe and each one of us, male, female or otherwise are Divine – God/Goddess.[image error]

From An Illusion of Love to Real Love

In media and films we have often found glorified versions of romantic love and have dreamed of a similar relationship with its own unique ups and downs. Yet, in real life we found heartbreaks, sexual violence, exploitation and frustration. Have we been confused between illusion and love? Here are some insights to have us meditate and introspect about what true love could be.

[image error]Attraction Is Not Real Love: Romantic attraction is often based on a fleeting hormonal surge that is sometimes called ‘love at first sight’. This could be compared with how your taste buds could react to the sight of delicious food, except that in this case it is the body, the voice, clothing, mannerisms or any other trait that pulls us towards a person. To put it squarely, it is illusion and not love because it is based on the outer qualities perceived by the senses. Instead we can see ourself and others equally as divine beings that are in essence one with God/ Goddess who is the source or creator. The quality of our relationship is based on how much divinity we can bring into our moments through an inner awareness of the spirit or soul instead of mere physical traits.
[image error]Sex is Not Real Love: The pleasure derived from physical sex is related to our muscles, nerves and brains and can be compared to any other biological activity that releases tension. Meditation can help us relax our bodies, nerves and brains to such a great extent that we do not always require any stimulation from the outside. In a world where people are more meditative and relaxed, there is lesser sexual violence or consumerism because people are not always looking for physical release through somebody else. When we relax our bodies and minds through yoga and meditation, natural peace and bliss is experienced at a much deeper level that is far more joyful in comparison to the temporary high of sensual enjoyment. True love is grounded in an inner bliss of our own spirit instead of ‘consuming’ sensual pleasure from the outer being.
[image error]Habit Is Not Real Love: We sometimes get so used to being around someone, especially close family, friends, roommates, classmates, office colleagues, that we mistake our habituation to the other individuals with love. Our vibrational frequency can get affected by others, whether in a positive or negative way. Being with stressful people can make us feel ‘used to’ unrequired stress, while being with talkative people can keep us feeling ‘okay’ with unnecessary gossip. Such relationships neither bring us closer to divinity, nor help the other person attain any kind of self-realization. It may be a better idea to be with our-self instead of staying attached with others beyond a certain limit, even if they be our closest relations. We can give our love and affection unconditionally by being more meditative and inspiring others to be the same so that healthy space is created for self development of each individual.
[image error]Emotional Drama Is Not Real Love: Painful separation and reunion is often depicted as the hallmark of true love in popular culture whether in plays, mythologies, poetry, novels or cinema. Betrayal, jealousy, anger, depression, manipulation, sado-masochism and other drama make for bestsellers and are eagerly grabbed off the shelves. Unhealthy associations with love can make us feel terrible for not having enough drama in our lives. Lost in illusion we seek meaning from excitement and thrills instead of through inner stillness and peace. True love however flowers when we return to our-self and feel a connection with our inner truth. If there is anything that always stays the same through all the changes on the outside, it is our own peace within.
[image error]Dependency Is Not Real Love: Most couples and families choose to stay together not due to genuine love but due to fear which is the lack of love. The fear of how one can live all by herself or himself makes many people stay on along with their spouse or relatives although what they really need is strength to be with themselves. Financial, material and emotional dependencies are illusion because somehow the universe will always send us enough to help us learn, grow and stand on our own feet. We all need to let go of any and every dependency and make our own path clear towards greater freedom and self-assurance.We can still remain together with our loved ones, out of a conscious choice and not out of dependency or fear.
[image error]Selfishness is Not Real Love: While we deepen our relationship with ourself through inner love, does it mean that we become less loving with others? Does self-love make us selfish and cold-hearted? Should we not take any responsibility for how we treat others or behave with other people just because we are focusing on our ‘inner self’? The truth is that our inner self awakens us all as One being through the deepest core of peace and unconditional love in our own heart and soul. In each of us is the source of compassion and loving kindness that is the all-creator. When we realize who we are through meditation, we awaken to become love which is infinite, universal and radiates peace. We may be human and make our own mistakes as we learn and grow in our spiritual path, yet at our core is an infinite stream of loving consciousness which includes all beings as it expands gently and surely throughout our life.

The choice of letting-go of illusion and accepting real or true love from the deepest level is ours in each moment of existence.

International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons Wins Nobel Peace Prize

The International Campaign to Abolish  Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) currently headed by Beatrice Fihn has won the Nobel Peace Prize for their international efforts in prohibition of nuclear weapons.

ICAN is a coalition of NGOs from around a 100 countries and has has been campaigning to stigmatise, prohibit and eliminate nuclear weapons under international law.

On 7 July 2017, 122 of the UN member states acceded to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. As soon as the treaty has been ratified by 50 states, the ban on nuclear weapons will enter into force and will be binding under international law for all the countries that are party to the treaty.

Around 15000 nuclear weapons have been known to exist in countries including USA

UK, Russia, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea. These along with Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey who host nuclear weapons as well as Canada, Italy, Germany and many other nations have believed that nuclear warheads are necessary for security.  The Nobel Peace Prize might be a sign to the international community, including nuclear supporting states that the world is growing ready for complete nuclear disarmament and that possessing nuclear weapons does not make our world more secure or safe in any way.  If anything, the provocation of nuclear tests and threats of wars between nuclear nations increased in the past years due to the false glamour of being a ‘nuclear super-power’.

The call for complete disarmament is crucial now more than ever.

The full text of this historic international treaty to illegalize nuclear weapons can be read HERE

Is Karma About Reward and Punishment?

We all have a past. But do we all have past lives? Some of you would question past lives entirely. Afterall what proof can we have that we reincarnate? For those of you who believe in past lives or reincarnation, the questions are different. Why do we reincarnate? Are we supposed to suffer the consequences of our past life mistakes in our present? Are we here to reap the rewards that were pending from our past life? Are we here to even our accounts with someone we related with? Or are we here to reunite with specific soulmates?

Fortunately regardless of whether we believe in past lives or reincarnation, we all can agree upon one thing. That we are here right now….Our present moment is all we can be sure about.

The purpose of life itself may not be known to science, but all of us can know from our own hearts, who we truly are from deep within. Our behavior, thought-process, our skills and talents, our fears and choices, our likes and dislikes…..all are changeable with time. Therefore even if we have had a past, or who knows how many past lives, right now, we are something much beyond it.

It follows therefore that our future is not limited by or defined by our past but something that is being generated by our present choices. All that we have chosen so far whether in past lives or in the past of our present lifetime, up-to right now…has led us to only one thing. Our present!

Karma is another word for ‘work’, i.e. what we do with our life. Karma is not a synonym for past life energy following our present lifetime. It can simply refer to our deeds even in this very lifetime or even – right now.

The main thing to understand however is that it is no matter what our past deeds might have been like, the present moment is totally a new opportunity that we have to choose how we think or act. In other words, our karma is our own choice made entirely through our free will in the present moment regardless of our past.

We all know that every action comes with certain consequences depending upon various laws of nature and our world. However all the consequences finally boil to the way we feel in the end. Having material success might give joy for a while to some of us, while spiritual peace might lead some others to tremendous bliss. Our consequences therefore are not entirely about the specific reward or punishment that comes from outside but our own feelings and inner state in this very moment.

Our past might be something that chases us time after time until we are even and all our accounts sorted by providing us lessons after lessons in the form of our actions and consequences. Yet, ultimately we are all learning who we are through the various lessons that life puts us through. We all are learning certain core values such as peacefulness, love and kindness that make us an evolved human. These deep lessons need not come from anything or anyone from outside, they can simply emerge from our true self through quiet contemplation and meditation.

We can be free of our past and at peace with all there is regardless of our past deeds or past situations.  Moksha or liberation from our karmic cycles of life and death is possible regardless of religion or belief. The solution to all our past life or present life issues might simply be this: Forgive, Let-Go and Be at Peace.
