Review of Friends and Enemies by Terri Wangard

Picture It's review day! I've got a review for Terri Wangard's novel, Friends and Enemies. It's a Christian World War 2 Romance that will release January 5, 2016!

Intrigued yet? Here's the back cover blurb: "In 1943, widowed seamstress Heidi Wetzel finds new meaning in life by caring for evacuated children on a rural farm in war-torn western Germany. Never a supporter of National Socialism, she takes pleasure in passive resistance, but must exercise caution around neighbors who delight in reporting t...

My TBR Pile - 12/28/15

Happy Monday, reader friends! I pray that your Christmas was filled with joy. Did anyone else get any books or gift cards like me? My wonderful friend blessed me with a gift card and a blanket to snuggle under while I read. Of course, that card has been stretched thanks to discounted eBooks this holiday. So of course that means my TBR pile has grown. I decided to share the last reads in my Christmas pile. Here we go. :) Picture Cathy Bryant's Pieces on Earth
I saw this novella was free this holiday,...

My Thoughts: When Bad Health Prevails

Picturepicture from pixabay.com I have a confession to make.I'm tired of illnesses. I'm tired of my sons passing colds back and forth. I'm tired of the constant feeling that I'm one sneeze away from catching a cold myself.

And I'm tired of chronic illnesses. You know the ones that don't go away. The ones that are here to stay. They're like the bubonic plague, vengeful and destructive and seemingly impossible to eradicate.

I'm tired of illnesses.

But when I was slowly walking from my children's bus stop...

Review of Love of the Summerfields by Nancy Moser

Picture Yay! My Christmas vacation is off to a good start. Granted I'm not traveling for the holidays, and I don't have a 9 to 5 job I'm off from, so my week looks pretty normal. Except, my boys are home. But I just finished a book I was fortunate enough to enjoy.

This was my first book by Ms. Moser and after reading it I wondered what took me so long. When I first started reading the first book in the Manor House series, it reminded me of Pride and Prejudice.

However, the titledSummerfields have a l...

My Thoughts: Overwhelmed

Picturepicture taken from pixabay.com Sometimes, life is overwhelming. It can be the littlest thing all the way to the big ones. It tears at me. It grips me. It surrounds me until it's all I can think about.

What will I serve for dinner that will please all? Can I find the money to get my kids out of the house and take them somewhere fun? Am I spending enough time with my family as well as taking the time to work on my current manuscript? Will my son's cold turn into a sickle cell pain crisis? Is my...
