Hey, I’m just reaching out to people on Tumblr. You’ve probably heard of Jesus and God, but have you ever reached out to Jesus for problems in your life? Big or small. I hope you’re having an awesome day!! 💕

I appreciate that, whoever you are, you sent this with good intentions. So, please understand my response is not personal.

I was raised Catholic, but it never made sense to me, even when I was very young. As a kid, the few times I did reach out to God and/or Jesus for help or guidance with my problems, he didn't do a motherfucking thing. So, I thought he either doesn't do what I need and therefore I shouldn't waste my time or he doesn't exist at all. The latter made the most sense to me and, the more I delved into the topic, the more I learned religion is all bullshit.

And for the record, I do believe Jesus had some really great words of wisdom, but I don't think for a hot second that he was the son of some invisible sky Gandalf or that anything he said was worth basing a deeply problematic religion on — especially since he basically said we should all treat each other better and most of the Christians I've met in my many decades on this dumb spinning rock treat other people like absolute shit.
