A busker plays music for a blind autistic girl sitting in a wheelchair. She’s being allowed to stim (flapping and rubbing her shirt) and respond to the music her own natural way. The busker places her hand on the guitar to let her see what is creating the music, and she smiles as he sings to her.
They made a connection.
That is autism acceptance.
Take note. Many autistic people will open up to you like a flower if you gently connect with them in ways that work for them instead of forcing them to connect with you in ways that only work for you.
I hope that sweet kid grows up to be a musician or artist! :)

Hey, parents. I know things are difficult right now. You’re stuck at home and, on top of the usual challenges of your day-to-day life, you now have your kids underfoot all of the time. It sure makes you appreciate the work teachers do, doesn’t it?
Well, I’m here to offer a little hope, a little joy in these dark and stressful times. You see, the one good thing about being stuck at home is you can get drunk any fucking time you want.
Your kids will be fine. You have snacks for them, right? Yeah, they’ll be fine. Get blasted.

Not a single lie in sight……
Hello, college grad that actually wrote an award winning paper on this topic! Here’s some knowledge I’d like to share: There’s actually been studies as to why it’s usually white kids, a large conclusion amongst the criminology community is that those that often have more privileged lives (white kids in our society’s case) are less adept to dealing with stress and denial. Whereas minorities and others are more likely to cope and function normally despite stressors because of the constant stressors that come from systematic racism and/or other platforms of more limited priviledge.
TL;DR: It’s usually a white kid because their privilege incacipated their ability to learn how to handle stress/ denial/ whatever without acting out. The less privileged are done used to the bs and thus typically dont turn to extreme measures as coping mechanisms.
EDIT: I had reblogged this and added a link to the paper (which I should’ve done to begin with,) but it’s probably best I just edit my original reblog and add the link (which I also should’ve just done already.)
Anyway, it can be found fully sourced here.

So, remember my art/junkyard guitar project? Remember how I said I didn’t originally plan on it being playable, but after painting it I wanted to make it playable? And remember how I said it was expensive to get the bridge set by a pro and how there were a ton of other hurdles in the way, but I was gonna try anyway? Well…
I FUCKING DID IT! I measured and attached the bridge by myself (well, my wife double-checked my measurements because she’s good at that stuff) and IT’S FUCKING PLAYABLE.
Not only is it playable, but it sounds pretty great.
So, this fucking wrecked acoustic guitar that I dug out of the neighbor’s trash and I’ve been carting around for a decade… I revived it. I have given it life.
Guys, you have no idea. I attempt weird projects all the time and most of them don’t pan out. But, some of them do. And I hoped this one would. And it did and I’m SO FUCKING STOKED.

While we’re all stuck inside and filling the day with menial chores to keep crippling boredom at bay, why not have a drink? A cocktail in your hand while vacuuming, for example, makes the duty much better.
