WE MOVED BACK.

June 3rd, 2017

A couple of weeks early.

Here is a photo of my plants. To lift up the mood from my previous blog post, I wanted these little guys to cheer everybody up.

Thank you so much for all the helpful comments, reading them made me feel a bit more calm and positive. So far, I’m feeling okay, and Felix is slowly recovering.

Now that things are getting a bit better, let me catch you up!

As I said, Felix and I decided to move back to our regular flat, even tho the kitchen isn’t ready just yet. It should be done in less than 3 weeks, but the water has been turned back on, and we have a fridge and boiler in the living room, at the moment, so we figured we could come back here.

Felix is actually setting up his office into the old flat – back to basics! And because of the virus (no matter how much I cleaned, I didn’t feel safe as it can live on surfaces for a while), packing up and settling back into our home felt like the right choice.

Obviously, the kitchen is looking quite messy, and a lot of work needs to be done, but look at these tiles peaking through. I’m so excited to see it all finished!

I received a box full of Crosta&Mollica goodies, which I very much appreciate because everything is made in Italy, and vegetarian.

Snacking on these is going to be a joy. I’ve missed my good ol’ Tarallini and Linguette (although I do find them at the grocery store here, I go through these things real fast) and pouring some crostini in any soup makes it all better.

Thank you to the guys at Crosta & Mollica!

Now onto great makeup additions, I was gifted this highlighter by Milk, and it may not say much from this photo, but….

BAAAM! It’s their holographic stick, and it looks stunning.

It has a beautiful pearlescent look to it. The one I’m swatching is the Mars – Golden Peach shade. They also have a lilac one, which is totally cool if you wanna rock something different, but this one – for me – is probably the best and most wearable option.

Then Tarte sent me their new Clay Stick foundation. It comes in 11 different shades, and what I like about it is that – it coming on this packaging – you can easily use it as a concealer or a bronzer/contour as well as its original purpose, a foundation.

I only ever tried one foundation stick before, and I remember that it had great coverage but it was quite thick and difficult to really blend.

No problem at all with this one. As soon as I put it on my face, it felt like a really creamy formula, and blended really well.

The main thing that really impressed me, is that I was wearing this product, without a primer, on a very hot day, whilst I was running around town, cleaning the house, reading  a book out in the sun, and it did not budge. It was flawless. I even went to Felix to tell him.

SO. As promised, here are another 2 boxes you can win!

The first one, let’s call it “BROWN”, includes the Milk stick, a Tarte foundation in Light Beige, a cleanser, an eyebrow palette, a vampy lip gloss, a nude lipstick, a shimmery pigment, some Forest Creature goodies, and the second volume of Forget Me Not.

This other one, let’s call it “GREEN”, has the newest Tarte foundation stick in Deep Honey as well as the powder foundation in Light Beige; then it has a haircare product, an eyebrow pencil, a cleanser, a bright coloured lippie, Forest Creature goodies, and an eyeshadow base as well as the simmery pigment. Oh, and the 3rd volume of Forget Me Not.

I know it’s super random of me to include those volumes in there, but because I first ordered them online and then found them in store (and simply couldn’t wait to read them), I now have doubles, and so I figured I would include them, so that you can get a feel for it and decide for yourself if worth reading the whole series. I really liked it, by the way!

So all you have to do, as usual, is to include the colour of the box within your comment (please don’t only spam the colour, you won’t be counted) to enter the giveaway. It is open internationally, and tomorrow morning I will select the two winners at random, contact them in the comment section as well as posting them a screenshot on here. Please remember to come back to this post to check if you are the winner!!

In case the winners don’t get back to me, someone else will be picked.

Alright! I think that’s all. Good luck! ˁ̡̡̡∗⁎⃙ ̫⁎⃙ˀ̡̡̡ ̩˳♡⃝

FEAR.

May 30th, 2017

I feel like I’m breaking.

At 2am Felix started to vomit violently.

That’s when my panic attacks started.

We were sleeping, then I feel him sitting straight up. He is always very healthy, the only other time I’ve seen him sick was that one time in Japan. That was scary because we were so far from home, without meds, a plane to catch, and both extremely sick.

But that has nothing on this.

Felix – as well as you, most likely – is aware of my phobia of vomiting, and so only later today he told me that he was feeling nauseous all evening. He didn’t say anything, and eat all his food, so it came as a shock when I heard him running down to the toilet and hear him throw up. Many, many times.

In that moment, at the very first sound, I jump up the bad, run downstairs, open a window and cover my hears. Shaking, In terror. This first panic attack lasts even after he comes to the living room to check on me. Notice how he has to check on me – he was the one feeling ill, but I couldn’t handle it, and it felt awful.

When I calm down, I think about what I cooked him for dinner: one of the sides was Chinese leaf, which I didn’t know was a type of cabbage (to which he is intolerant, but usually just gets some bloating).

I felt terrible for feeding him that, I just didn’t know, but if anything I figured that if that was the case, with all that puking any trace of it should have gone away, and he should be able to go back to sleep.

I was wrong. 10 minutes later he runs down again, same thing.

He keeps on going for a while, till I call my parents at 3am. At this point I knew it wasn’t the food, but a bug. And so it was contagious, and by now it probably made its way to me as well.

My parents suggest me to call the ambulance. Felix says he doesn’t need anyone to check on him.

5 minutes later, he has a terrible vomit attack and asks me to call, and so I do.

15 minutes later, the ambulance arrives: two people come out, the woman seems a bit bothered to be here at this hour, whilst the man doesn’t say much.

They go up to him, and just confirm it’s a virus, and he has to wait it out. Nothing else. Considering the amount of pain he was in, and the fact that he just couldn’t stop throwing up, I was hoping that they would give him something to help, but no.

The nightmare continues. Felix gets out a bucket (the bathroom at this point is all filled with vomit to the point that nothing goes down) and sleeps in the little bedroom downstairs.

It doesn’t get any better till 8, when he finally manages to nap, and I take the chance to wear some rubber gloves and spray bleach anywhere I can think of.

He wakes up at around 11am, and does a final ‘push’. Falls back to sleep, till 3-4pm.

I go out with my phone on hand, and grab some of the things both the internet and pharmacists recommended. When I get back, Felix was awake and able to chat with me for 10 minutes. I had my mask on, and kept my distance, but I don’t have much hope I will be able to escape the virus as I read it can be contagious for 2 whole weeks after the person recovers.

When it comes to me, I’ve done lots of crying today, and got reminded of how awful panic attacks are, especially if you have to deal with them alone.

This is my biggest fear coming to life, and what is worse is that I can’t shake the thought that I will soon start to feel like Felix did, and that is the scariest thing ever to me. Especially because Felix isn’t well enough to be able to look after me either.

I’m grateful that friends and my parents reached out, so I don’t feel too alone, but obviously nobody can come over to help so I am, in fact, by myself at the moment. Not to mention I need to also care for the pugs in all of this.

I have had about 3 hours of sleep on the couch in total, I feel exhausted and mentally broken. I can’t seem to eat much, my dinner consisted on a banana. I’m a ball of stress and anxiety and I keep on crying at random. I’m just so afraid.

I thought maybe coming on here and share all the details (sorry about how gross this post is) would somehow make me feel better – I can’t say it has done that, but if anything it’s taking some time off of me not doing anything other than staring out the window.

If you don’t hear anything from me, for a little while, you know why, but I’m hoping with all my heart that I will able to stay clear of the virus.

NEW SKINCARE STUFF I’VE TRIED.

May 29th, 2017

Some cool products I tested.

These up here are just a few, actually.

As you know, lots of brands send me things to try out and if I like them, I either work on a sponsorship or I can get good deals for my subscription boxes.

This post is not sponsored, but I found some really great stuff I wanted to share with you!

The brand up here, with all the products coming out of my Gudetama backpack (which they didn’t send me, I already had it), is called Too Cool for School. I came across this brand years ago, when I was obsessed with Korean skincare and makeup.

At the time, they collaborated with Anke Weckmann for the illustrations in their packagings, which is why the brand stood out to me so much (fast forward a few years later, and I have a couple of tattoos drawn by her, for me).

[image error]                      [image error]

Interesting how things develop!

Anyway. I like this brand very much, so I asked my team to reach out to possibly include some stuff into my subscription boxes.

They were super kind and sent over a ton of stuff, which I’m slowly trying on.

My personal favourite so far, is this handy blotting sheets set. It’s simple, but so smart!

Usually, when you get these sheets, you just pull them out – which is fine – but this has a mirror, so you can properly check on your makeup, and a cute sponge-like cushion, in which you can slide your fingers on one side, and on the other side, there is a sticky surface so that it picks up a new sheet, so that you don’t need to touch it.

I brought this with me when I was in Amsterdam, and it was super convenient.

Another brand I’ve been liking for quite some time, is Origins. I haven’t gotten anything in the past year or so, but then they sent me this White Tea line, and totally made me fall back in love.

This lotion, in particular, became the first step in my morning skincare routine.

I was drawn to try it out first because of the beautiful packaging, but the scent of the lotion is incredible. I can’t quite describe it, but for some reason it calms me down, as if it’s a familiar scent and by just putting some on a cotton pad, and rubbing it on my face, instantly makes me a bit happier.

I’m turning 25 this year, and although I’m not too concerned about wrinkles and ageing, the fact that it does say it prevents them, is definitely an added bonus.

Oh, and can we mention how generous of them was to gift me an Instax camera?!

Another product I really like is this moisturiser by Derma E. I’ve tried and included the scrub in my boxes before, so I was excited to try something else from them.

They asked if I was interested in using a product of my choice in a video, and I picked this one.

The first time I put it on I was so surprise of how buttery it feels, and although it doesn’t claim to have any smoothing agent, I feel like my makeup has been applying even better than usual.

I’m still a huge fan of the rose moisturiser by Fresh, that one is just as amazing, but because I ran out of it while I was in Amsterdam, this one arrived just at the right time.

I love the fact that there is Vitamin C in it; for some reason, as I stated in my latest video, when it comes to skincare, I always search for that, as well as Rose and Tea. I just think they all help with my acne, and they are gentle enough not to bother my skin.

And that brings me to this oil, which doesn’t have just one of my favourites ingredients, but two.

I can’t say I notice a difference to most oils that I apply during the night – I think most of the ones I’ve tried do a really good job – but I am very excited to be using this one right now because of its ingredients.

I figured it was worth a mention. I’ve never tried anything from Biossance before, but so far, I like it!

The final brand I’m gonna touch base on today, is Philosophy. Just like Origins, I used to buy from it all the time in the past, but kind of stopped because of all the stuff I receive. When I saw they sent me all of these things, some really stood out!

I like the minimal perfume bottle approach. Both scents smell really nice, but I found myself going back more often to the smaller one – not sure why!

A big favourite was the Amazing Grace body mousse. I am basically a kid when it comes to foam.

The instant I saw the consistency, I was sold. BUT. There is more. When you actually apply it to your skin, it makes a funny noise! Do you know those popping candy packets? It kind of sounds like that to me.

It’s just too fun to apply it, and at the same time it’s very moisturising and the products dries quickly, so you don’t feel sticky.

If you have this product, does yours make the same noise? I’m so curious if it’s just my bottle, or if it’s actually supposed to make that noise!

Finally, this mist is everything. I can’t stop spraying it to my face; it’s gotten out of control.

I snapped this photo when I first received it, and now I’m almost halfway through (I have had it for only a few weeks).

It smells really good, but the texture of the water – I know, I sound crazy – is so different. You can feel the moisture. It’s like, soft. Haha I don’t know.

Alright, I better go now! Just know that once I move back to my flat, I will be putting together some giveaways as I have so many products waiting for you.

ARDEN ROSE X OHH DEER.

May 28th, 2017

I like Arden. I like Ohh Deer.

I received this in the mail the other day.

I follow Arden so I knew about this collab, but I didn’t expect to get this gifted to me, so I was happy when it arrived!

Because I was so excited, here is a little post about it.

If you don’t know who Arden is, well… she is a babe. I’ve only met her once, at Disneyland, but she is fun to be around! Her channel is very real: she will talk, in depth, about any topic, and her Instagram is full of beautiful photos. Plus, she is as big of a fan of LazyOaf as I am, so *high-five*.

Often in her videos she does adorable little doodles, so I wasn’t surprised that she teamed up with Ohh Dear.

If you check out the website you will see she worked on more items than these, but these 3 up here were the ones I was sent.

The keychain is cute, the notebook useful, and the planner is gorgeous.

Small and well structured. Love it!

I’ve made a blog post about Ohh Deer before cause I love the stuff they sell, and you can find new talented artists, but I wanted to post about this collaboration to support Arden, which I think did a great job with these products and overall offers some great online content.

Happy Sunday!

MAYA CALLS THE COPS.

May 23rd, 2017

A fun, silly t-shirt!

About a month ago Felix and I started having this inside joke of Maya ‘calling the cops’ over anything ‘wrong’ one of us would do – any small thing counts, like not folding a blanket properly or not feeding Maya at the right time, for example.

It was a late night and I kept giggling imagining Maya actually picking up a phone saying ‘Im callen de cops’. Up here is the actual text I wrote down on my notes just so I wouldn’t forget about the joke.

But it turns out it never died down since then. And so I decided to turn it into a t-shirt!

A week ago I made this drawing of Maya wearing a pink onesie and an eye patch, calling the cops with a toy phone, over the fact that someone touched a plant.

I don’t know why I find this joke – and this t-shirt – so hilarious, but I figured some of you may like it as well.

The t-shirt is going to be a limited edition, only available for a bit and once it’s gone, that’s it! You can find more info about it on my shop.

Hope you like it! ₍ᐢ•ﻌ•ᐢ₎*

AMSTERDAM.

May 21st, 2017

A quick holiday with Emma.

Back in December we planned this trip, of just two full days, in Amsterdam.

I vlogged the whole thing, and completely forgot to snap photos, but here are some screenshots while the video uploads on Youtube.

If you are looking for something young and unique, The Student Hotel has an amazing decor taste, is pretty artsy and fun. Both Emma and I loved it!

It was a bit pricey, and not in the centre, but it was worth it, as it was so quirky and had the metro right next to it, making moving around quite easy.

We landed in the late afternoon, and so we adventured into the centre, looking for a restaurant where to dine. We settled for a nice Italian place in Rembrandt Square.

I loved how pretty every building is in Amsterdam, and how – at night – the lights reflect onto the canals, making the place seem so magical.

Anywhere you look, there is something pretty.

On our first day there, we attempted to enter Anne Frank’s house. Unfortunately, we did not quite realise how much line there was going to be, so we were okay with just looking at it from the outside.

The taller building, with the light above, is the one.

The weather that day was 29*C – which I was definitely not expecting, considering the weather forecast said it was going to be cold and rainy – so queueing up was not an option.

Instead we went to the Museum of Fluorescent Art, nearby.

That was a real experience! The museum consisted on an installation, in the basement of a small shop.

The owners were lovely, and showed us everything they have collected so far.

It’s small, but fun and very different from anything I’ve ever seen, so it was worth checking out for sure!

At night we wandered around the Red Light District: it was surprisingly pretty – not dangerous or sketchy as I would have imagined – if you keep an open mind.

The smell of alcohol and drugs is strong, and of course there are half naked women on the windows, but the neon lights somehow make it a charming place.

If you ever go, make sure you are not alone and stay sharp. I wanted you to know that it was nice to check this area out, and Emma and I had no problems with getting around safely (just a disclaimer: we only walked outside with the crowd and left after the main road ended).

On our second and last day there, we visited a few museums. The weather wasn’t as nice, but we were lucky enough to only get some rain in the evening.

Getting tickets for the Van Gogh museum was quick and easy, but we weren’t allowed to film inside so I don’t really have much to show (even on video).

But in that area there were lots of museums – which made it convenient – as well as the ‘I Amsterdam’ letters.

The final thing I really wanted to see was this road with 7 houses designed to mimic the architectural style of 7 European countries.

It’s not really a touristy thing to see, but when I saw someone recommending it online, I knew I wanted to see it, mostly because I enjoy beautiful architecture, and being able to see such different styles next to each other was cool.

(I don’t have an image of all of them together as a still, so you will have to see them in the video).

But that was it!

Have you ever been there? Or do you live there? Let me know! I expected to be able to see some windmills and a lot more tulips, but I guess none of that would be right in the city centre, so I was pleased with what I did get to see.

BUSY BEE.

May 12th, 2017

An intense month.

This morning I woke up next to this bumble bee. It is huge, I don’t think you really get an idea of the size. But it was fascinating, so before releasing it out into the world, I took a photo of  it.

Oh, I’m here to give you a quick update!

Remember my kitchen? Lovely, yes, but not so efficient.

Back in March I’ve redesigned it and on Monday we are getting ours removed, to then install the new one. I’m very excited, but it makes this already busy month, even more complicated for me.

In fact, we have to clear it completely, and till the end of June we won’t have a kitchen, so we might end up moving out of the flat for the time being.

Today Felix went to dye his hair, and so he left me little Edgar. He is a demon at times, but still very cute.

I’m getting ready, on Tuesday, to travel again.

I feel like since the end of April, after coming back from Tuscany, my days have been passing by me so fast. There is just so much happening right now, and so many projects I’m working on.

It’s all good – don’t get me wrong – I love to keep busy! But I find that it’s challenging to find time for everything, so hopefully if you don’t see me on here, or on Youtube, you just know it’s because I’m working on cool stuff.

WE FOUND A WINDMILL.

May 8th, 2017

Well, two – actually.

Yesterday Felix and I went on a quick road trip. On the way, we spotted some windmills, and took the chance to snap some photos in the area.

They are the Jack & Jill windmills, in the South Downs National Park.

We weren’t looking for them, but when I saw them, they were too pretty not to stop by.

When we got there, they weren’t open just yet, but instead of leaving right away, we parked the car and went for a walk.

The view was incredible, and all the sheep were so cute!

A bit of a shame that it was such a cloudy day, but…

there was this majestic white horse. Doesn’t even look real.

And this photo makes me laugh.

That was it for our little adventure. We stopped by a game shop to get the new Mario Kart and played all evening.

PREVIOUS LINES.

May 6th, 2017

It was about time.

I have two years worth of clothes I’ve designed in my office. So today I figured I would wear some of them, snap some photos, and make a dedicated Instagram account @marzia_clothing.

This is the clothing rack I hang every piece in – you have seen it before, but here it is, again.

I think my first two clothing lines – White (Spring/Summer 2015) & Black (Fall/Winter 2015) didn’t get much attention, so some really cool stuff got overlooked, like these frilled pants, which I feel like are more trendy now that they were when I first designed them.

The tops from my Pastel line from 2016, are still very much an essential in my closet for hot summer days. This top came in white, blue and yellow.

Here are the grey and pink scuba overalls, paired with the snow white turtleneck. Seriously so comfy!

The pastel turtlenecks are still available, actually, and on 50% off.

We are getting ready to clear the final garments left so that we can move onto the Summer line for this year, my ‘Limone’ (lemon) one.

I’m so excited to finally have the new one coming out, and I’m currently designing the winter line! Such a productive day today.

Finally, here is my favourite piece from the current line, as you all know. This dress is just too pretty and hold a beautiful shape.

I wanted to post about this here as well, simply to let you know that I will be posting more photos of my previous lines as well as design process on the dedicated account, so if that is something you are interested in, make sure you follow me there!

CHIA BOWL.

May 4th, 2017

An easy recipe.

I have talked about my love for chia seeds before, and how I like to soak them in water for a quick, healthy snack. But lately I have swapped the water with almond milk, so that I can add some extra flavour to it, and makes it the perfect base for a breakfast meal.

For breakfast, my go-to is porridge, but sometimes you just need to switch things up and so – anytime I feel the need to – I opt for a good chia bowl (with basically the same things as I would have in porridge).

I like it because not only is just as healthy, but it’s cold, so if I’m wanting something that feels a bit more refreshing, this is great.

So these are the ingredients. I didn’t put a specific dosage/number for the cinnamon and syrup just because you can add it as you wish. You can definitely also swap the almond milk for any other type.

Again, regarding the granola and the fruit, you can have what you prefer, or none at all.

In fact, if you just want a quick snack, you can put the soaked chia seeds in a small pot and keep it refrigerated, so it’s ready as soon as you crave some!

I honestly love the taste of it on its own anyway, but if you do want to make yourself a nice breakfast, adding some toppings makes it more filling.

So just mix your liquids and powders together, so that you get the perfect base for your seeds to soak up.

Once you add the chia, let it rest for about 15 minutes. They should stick to each other, and make a thicker consistency, like a pudding.

Then simply add anything you like on top, and enjoy! ( ິ•ᆺ⃘• )ິฅ✧
