Wednesday Whoa: 4 Stars to Salamander

When I was a kid, the Salamander Letter Forgery was the story that turned me on to true crime books.

Back in the 1980s, Mark Hoffman (an antiques dealer) perpetrated a fraud against the Mormon church by forging the Salamander Letter (a document that was in complete odds with the church's history concerning Josephs Smith). Writing Challenge–Day #2: Triple Success

Did not think I'd get through the 250 words today…thought I'd reached it but when I did a word count, I was only at 187…but sucked it up and thought, "Just 70 more words." Well, okay, I really wanted to do 500, so it was more like "Okay, 320 more words."

When I finally looked up, the total count was 774. So I did about three pages worth of writing.

Awesome.

August Writing Challenge–Day #1

Taking a break from the usual Monday Mechanics blogging to record the ups & downs of my August Writing Challenge, to see if I can figure out any patterns of behavior/writing that can help me boost efficiency & production.

So, the challenge is pretty simple: write 1-2 pages/day. Today I did 250 words (1 page) of writing, but not novel writing…turns out that in a wild act of being organized, I organized and filed my notes for my story right out of existence.

Eep.

Spent a few hours...
