Syfy Orders “HAPPY!” Pilot
From Deadline Hollywood:
“Happy! is based on Morrison (Batman, The Invisibles) and Robertson’s graphic novel. It follows Nick Sax – an intoxicated, corrupt cop-turned-hit man — who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse. Morrison and Brian Taylor (Crank, Gamer) will write and executive produce. Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Toby Jaffe of Original Film (The Fast And The Furious franchise) will also executive produce. Taylor will also direct the pilot.”

“Universal Cable Productions is also developing Morrison’s “Happy!” — a graphic novel he co-created with artist Darick Robertson — for Syfy. Morrison and Taylor are set as executive producers and co-wrote the pilot, with Taylor attached to direct. Described as a grimy crime black comedy, the project centers around Nick Sax, a corrupt, intoxicated, ex-cop turned hit-man adrift in a twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit goes wrong, Nick finds a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail and a monstrous killer in a Santa suit on the loose. SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2016 at Booth #1806
I will be attending all 5 days of the San Diego Comic Con at Booth # 1806, promoting my new project “Tooth and Mail” with writers Eric Peterson and Joe Aubrey.
“Moon Lake” creator Dan Fogler (Fanboys, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them) will be joining us on Saturday from 2-4 signing copies of his book “Brooklyn Gladiator”.

The BOYS TV Adaptation Set At Cinemax With Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Eric Kripke
It looks like the BOYS is finally going to get a live action adaptation. Deadline Hollywood reports:
“After bringing Garth Ennis’ Preacher to the screen with the upcoming AMC series, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Neal Moritz are tackling another dark and violent comic book by Ennis on cable television. Cinemax has put in development The Boys, from the Preacher team of Rogen and Goldberg’s Point Grey, Moritz’s Original Film and Sony TV.
Developed by Rogen, Goldberg andSupernatural creator Eric Kripke, and to be written by Kripke based on the graphic novel written by Ennis and illustrated by Darick Robertson, the series is set in a time where most of the superheroes are corrupted by their celebrity status and often engage in reckless behavior, compromising the safety of the world. It centers on a CIA squad, known informally as “the boys,” whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, eliminate some of them.
