Continuing the #SDCC2012 recap,
Evan Narcisse writing for @Kotaku says,
I’m especially looking forawrd to screenwriter Gary Whitta and artist Darick Roberston’s riff on Charles Dickens’ Oliver. With other new books from great talent like Matt Fraction, James Robinson and Howard Chaykin on the way, it’ll likely be that way for a long time.

io9 reports: The Biggest Winners .. of Comic Con 2012!
Charlie Jane Anders @ io9 writes:
Comic Con is the pop culture Thunderdome. Every year, studios bring dozens of their massively expensive properties to the San Diego Convention Center, and only some will emerge with victory. Comic Con can’t make or break a project — but it can generate tons of buzz, which is a priceless commodity. [..]
Image made a huge splash, with a slew of announcements— they nabbed a ton of talent that normally only runs with the Big Two, including Matt Fraction, Greg Rucka, Joe Casey, Darick Robertson, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Howard Chaykin, Chris Roberson and James Robinson. Whilce Portacio’s Non-Humans sounds awesome, and so does Happy!, Robertson’s collaboration with Grant Morrison.

Grant Morrison & Darick Robertson’s ‘Happy!’ and the Renewal of Image Comics
In a weekend that contained a bunch of surprising news in the world of creator-owned comics — such as the return of Phonogram, new Steve Niles books with Tony Harris and Scott Morse, new books from Brian Wood & Ming Doyle and Nick Spencer & Riley Rossmo, and a sequel to Howard Chaykin’s Black Kiss — the most surprising news, delivered by Image Publisher Eric Stephenson in Steve-Jobs-”one-more-thing” style, is that Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson will be collaborating on a new series, Happy!, out this year.

CBR Review – BUTCHER #3
The Boys: Butcher, Baker, Candlestickmaker #3
[image error]
"It's a difficult thing to show the bliss of a true love and Ennis, as well as artist Darick Robertson, do a sublime job. [..] There are sex scenes and bruised eyes and broken old men for Robertson to bring to life in this issue. All these elements slot right into his wheelhouse and yet it's the few pages he spends on a wedding day that are the highlight. He manages to truly show the majestic beauty of Becky, and he finally makes Butcher look happy." [read more]

CBR News — THE BOYS Butcher mini-series preview
"This mini series is essential to the "Boys" legacy," says artist Darick Robertson. "The script is one of Garth Ennis' finest, (personally my favorite since our work together on Marvel's PUNISHER: BORN). It answers a lot of questions about who Butcher is and why he is the way he is. It is heartbreaking, and yet has the kind of action and humor you'd expect from the two of us. If you're a fan of the series, this is the story you've been waiting for!"
"Garth and Darick have created a story so compelling, that it took till now to be able to offer to fans," states Dynamite Publisher Nick Barrucci. "The story is powerful and the art is incredible. We want to excite fans by showing off incredible and meticulously drawn interior pages by Darick. This is THE Boys series that if you have never read The Boys, this is a great introduction to that world."
