I'm off for the next week to Centre Parcs with the family and associated partners, so wish me luck for us all getting on 24/7 LOL.
There is *some* internet access, but to be honest, I won't be digging deep for it. I'm in sore need of time off, and that will include both the good and the bad things in net life :). Reading, watching movies, catching up on some TV crime boxsets ... dammit, I may even do some writing!
Now I'm off to find my swimsuit for the Tropical Paradise indoor dome pool. I can't remember the last time I wore it, let alone swam *cough*. Hope to catch up with you all soon.

YOU MAKE AN AUTHOR'S DAY...
I've been thrilled with the response to JUST-YOU EYES . I haven't published much this year, but I've been particularly proud and fond of what I *have* :).
Just-You Eyes was a chance for me to write a good, old-fashioned English romance - with its own m/m twist :).

Elliot didn't know that offering to help his sister get over her broken love affair would mean attending a speed-dating evening at the local hotel in their quaint English town. Obviously, as a gay man, he's not the target group, and there's nothing for him there except cheap wine and uncomfortable chairs. But when hotel manager Alexsy sits down opposite him and offers an evening of a very different kind than Elliot expected, Elliot's tempted to try something for the very first time in his life—the tantalizing adventure of a one-night stand.

:EXCERPT ... Clare shows us with this story how much and how little we can see about a person when we first meet them. The Alexsy of the beginning of the story isn't the same as the man at the end. And though he might have changed some, the way that Eliott sees him has changed as well, after feeling desired for the first time in several years and maybe a little more sure of himself. I really enjoyed Elliot and Alexsy and was happy that we got to know so much about them in the short length of the story, though what we do know about them is less from what they say to one another and more how they say it. Like many a first date, or an awkward one-night encounter, the meaning behind their conversation says more about them than the dance they do around the actual words and gestures.

A Million Words of Free Fiction (and a few of mine)
HOT SUMMER DAYS have started at the Goodreads M/M Romance Group.
Group members were offered the chance to post a picture and request a story written to its prompt. Then authors joined in to "claim" whatever pic spoke to their Muse.
There's been a great response to this. Around 20,000 words will be released for reading EVERY DAY: stories of all lengths, of all genres and styles. And at the end of the month they'll be collected into a full volume to be archived on Goodreads. Over ONE MILLION words of free fiction to be enjoyed - if you can keep up LOL.
I mean, how could I resist Bookwatcher's request on *this* pic???
Say a Little Prayer
Jonathan's a hardworking student running a couple of jobs to fund himself through college and also help his Mum run her B&B on the Dorset coast. Despite his mischief-making Gran's insistence, he doesn't have the time or the nerve to chase potential dates. Then one day on the beach, after a hard day's ice cream sales, he meets Admael. Now Jonathan doesn't *need* to do the chasing - Admael's ready and willing for whatever Jonathan wants. And even if Jonathan's too nervous to think of anything beyond how to smuggle Admael home on the No. 7 bus, Gran is always on hand to offer him some lewd suggestions.
No idea when it'll be posted during the month, but there'll be plenty of other reading every day.
Not yet a member of the M/M Romance Group? You have to join because of the specifically adult nature of some of the content, but there's no cost and no commitment to join in beyond sharing your love of M/M Romance - though there's always plenty going on over there :).

Every day this week, I've received at least ONE request for a new subscriber to my Newsletter and/or a Guestbook comment on my website.
*whee!!* BUT...
Almost immediately afterwards - and especially after I wised up after the first couple of times - I find it's my old friend SPAM *sigh* trying to get me to join a dating site or buy pharmaceuticals or just to look at his/her naked genitals.
*bigger sigh*
It's been an entertainment, at the least. And I suppose it stops me getting big-headed LOL.
