Traditional and modern shamanism

The function of shamans is to act as a healing bridge between non-ordinary and ordinary realities. On one hand they have a unique relationship with multidimensional realities from whom they receive direct training and initiation. Their validity here comes from pragmatic healing results and not by conforming to a particular authority or practice. On the other hand an important part of their apprenticeship consists in acquiring understanding about the religious and cultural traditions of the place in which they operate. This allows them to make their non-ordinary experiences understandable through the references of the local culture and customs. Failure to do so may be detrimental for it leads to misunderstanding and prevent integration of the shamanic experience.

Shamanism is not an alternative religion or spiritual path. It is a method of spiritual healing, which integrates with the society where it operates, doing its best to avoid conflicts with the local culture.

Neo-shamanism, modern or New Age shamanism, operates in a rather distinct way, in harmony with the cultural and religious syncretism of the last decades. On the one hand this development is legitimate and aligned with the transformations of contemporary cultures. On the other the risk, however, is that shamanism becomes an alternative and exotic form of worship or spirituality, and even a corporate and fundamentalist discipline whose learning requires attendance and certification in schools and institutes.

Moreover, the cultural and religious references of neo-shamanism often refer to exotic or remote traditions, and very rarely to those of one’s place of origin or residence. Most of shamanic courses available in the Western world refer to traditions from other cultures, and tend to ignore, or even ouvertly oppose local religious traditions.

The Australian or Siberian Aboriginal shamans honors and employs the cosmology and tools of their culture, of the place where they live and where their ancestors lived. It follows that a shaman apprentice living in Italy should refer to their spiritual traditions, Christian, Catholic and pre-Christian, pagan, Mediterranean, along with the philosophical and ideological currents of ancient and modern thought.

For the contemporary shaman, however, it is essential to become familiar with the spiritual paths of other cultures, because we are currently living in multicultural societies, where it is no longer possible to isolate oneself within a single culture. Furthermore the exploration of other cultures allows to broaden the horizons, providing inspiration if the relationship with one’s own culture is difficult. However, if shamanism becomes an exotic practice, dissociated from the traditions of one’s place of origin, not only is it no longer shamanism, but it risks causing further separation and confusion. It is understandable that some people may have strong and legitimate resistance or hostility towards their own religious and cultural background, yet the shamanic healing work involves first all understanding where those resistances truly come from and transforming them.

Things to do

In this life you can do and be many things, but you cannot do and be everything. Inevitably in the linearity of time a lot will be missed.
However among the countless things you can do there are only two that are vital. If you miss those, you are missing everything.

The first is to understand what is the most important thing you are called to do during your life. This means responding to your true calling, to the priority reason that led you to be here. In this regard, you need  to take risks. You do not know for sure what your true calling is. No one can tell you. It’s about risking and trying, accepting to make mistakes, because the mistake allows you to understand what is the right thing to do. When you make mistakes you can correct and then risk and try again. In fact, the biggest mistake is not making mistakes. If you don’t make mistakes you will never learn anything and you won’t understand what is the right thing to do.

The second is to understand that you live simultaneously in infinite realities, whose total sum implies the possibility of doing and being everything. This also involves understanding that in this separate reality you are part of the whole and are also included in what everybody else is and does. Whatever you do, wrong or right, will include every other possibility of being and doing, wrong or right.

Responsibility

Your true responsibility towards this world is to remember, acknowledge and share your gifts and talents. Grievances and frustrations in your life are mainly due to the idea that you are here to take or get something. This world has been looted for ages and has not much to offer. This world needs to receive something from you. In giving that something you can receive what you truly need, which is also the greatest satisfaction and joy you can get in this world.

Parallel dreams

Dreams are shifts in parallel worlds that allow you to acknowledge the state of your doubles and their relationship with the doubles of the people you know in the ordinary world.

There are different versions of you, your friends, relatives and acquaintances in every world. Every night before you fall asleep and dream, take a moment to bless your parallel selves in every world and universe. When you dream you travel to some of those universes. Dreaming can be all about creating luminous connections between these parallel worlds, bringing and receiving healing.

Good night!

Past lives and parallel universes

For those who are spiritually alternative, in the presence of an immediate loving, passionate or telepathic connection, or a negative reaction, towards someone, without particular reasons, the most widespread interpretation is that it is a person met in a past life.

However, this happens less and less. In recent years the emerging conclusion is that with that person you are having a significant relationship not in the past, but in the present of a parallel world ror in the time continuum. From a more non-dualistic perspective, the conclusion is that in another reality you are actually the other person.

What are the main symptoms in this regard?

Let’s see only a few of them briefly.

a) strong attraction and magnetism deriving from the eyes of the person who appear to be very familiar.

b) spontaneous feeling of love, affection, pleasure, joy, as well as the opposite moods, in the presence of that person.

c) empathic and intuitive connection, perceiving at a distance what the other person does or thinks, anticipation in one’s thoughts of what the person says or does.

d) by touching their hands or a part of their body you feel a sense of instant intimacy, and you could easily to let yourself go.

e) the feeling of having already lived with that person something that is taking place at a given moment, déjà vu.

Etc.

If you miss someone…

If you miss someone or something, if at certain times you feel incomplete, accept it!
Don’t be afraid to need others, to depend on them.
Don’t force yourself to be self-sufficient, to have everything inside you.
Consider the option of not being everything, but only a part of the whole.
In this case, if you feel you are missing someone or something, it is a legitimate feeling. Therefore, accept to attract what you lack towards you.
And if what is missing does not arrive, take the initiative and start looking for them.
The meeting often takes place halfway.
What you are missing is looking for you, because it also needs you, but it can only find you if you show up and this happens faster if you go towards what you miss.
So if you’ve been missing someone or something for a long time, if you’re tired of waiting, you need to make a move.
Go towards who and what you miss, until you find it.
But remember that it is not enough to find what you are missing.
It is also necessary that you let them know that you miss them and that you need them. Don’t be afraid of becoming dependent.
Many times you met who and what you missed, but then you pretended to be self-sufficient, to have everything inside of you. Of course, this is true at a certain level, and if you feel that it is really like this for you, then there is absolutely no point in missing and retrieving something or someone.
But if instead you do miss who and what you miss and feel unhappy as a result, the next time you meet someone you miss avoid using strategies, be explicit, say clearly that you miss them.
If you are not everything, but only a part of the whole, and you want to unite with everyone and everything, your responsibility is to recognize who and what you are missing, go towards them and openly declare your willingness to join them, regardless of their response.
Everything else does not concern you.
It’s about continuing to do it every time, with everyone and everything you miss, and also with what you do not miss for a while and then you miss it again, until, out of exhaustion, you will miss nothing and you will really be all.

Speak with the Manager

Stop taking it out on yourself or the people around you when things go bad in life.

Things have been bad long before you and the people around you were born.

Easy to take it out on workers and employees. If you really want to take it with someone, be courageous and speak with the Manager.

Broadening perception

The basic cause of grievances in our relationships is the result of a mistake in our perception. We identify our relationships on the horizontal plane according to our physical bodies, which is theatrical and symbolic, leaving out the vertical and multidimensional plane, where our relationships are actually taking place.

The dramas and pains, as well as the pleasures and joys of our relationships are the projection of a matrix dwelling in dimensions removed from our perception. What happens on the physical plane is the refraction of processes developed elsewhere, where past, present and future coexist simultaneously.

When we broaden the perspective of what seems to happen on the stage of ordinary life, we begin to recognize what occurs behind the scenes.

This broadening of perspective requires a conscious effort. It implies the ability to recognize the people with whom we relate, including ourselves, on alternative plans to the physical one. It means to understand experientially that the authentic relationship takes place elsewhere, that the essence of every relationship, what we really seek, its deep love, is always available at all times and can never be lost.
