CROSS CROWDED ROOMS

I fell asleep with a Silent Majority song stuck in my head and now I’m awake with coffee and listening. Because in 1995 I bought any 7” remotely related to hardcore and this was a genius method to discovering new bands via saved lunch money, the downside was that a lot of them weren’t great and I was often hungry. But I loved the ones that weren’t great too since at the very least, they were made by people my age or a few years older… and the layouts were indicative of that… and the band had the...

YOU CAN'T FIND JUSTICE, IT'LL FIND YOU

By now you know it’s difficult for me to wax aimlessly in this void when there are songs to be sung. It’s 5:30 and a Friday. In headphones listening to the 1999 EP ‘The Age Of Backwards’ by The Spells, a Mary Timony / Carrie Brownstein release on household favorite, K Records. Yes, sipping coffee, but have been up since 4 or so with ...

REBELS WITHOUT A CREW OR PURPOSEFULLY LOST IN NEW ENGLAND

Sipping this cappuccino. Reading Rumi to remember. Music is crooning along. That’s where I’ve been! Sun hanging around longer. Last I looked it was Sunday. The days run away like domesticated ponies. Outside they are walking in circles, drunk on snake poison, to stave off the inevitable shame for having invested the little everything they had in bridges for sale.

At the bottom of the entry is an unreleased Cold Cave track, Strung Out On Your Love, for the paid subscribers. Thank you to those who...

WHO WORE IT BEST?

Who wore it best? The Pop edition. Surely I cannot say. I find it interesting… perhaps it’s the collective unconscious or the cycle of creativity... and I’m on the wheel.
