Teaseday – Exclusive excerpt from Masquerade (Vampires Realm romance series book 10)
Today’s tease comes from the book Masquerade, which is the tenth book in my Vampires Realm romance series.
Here’s some scene setting. Sophis and Vivek, two guards of the Venia bloodline of vampires, have been at war for the past decade, ever since a run in with two hunters almost cost Sophis her life. Sophis has grown tired of Vivek’s behaviour towards her and is determined to prove that she isn’t a weak female, and at the start of this week’s scene she’s out to do just that, by having a fight with him in the middle of one of the mansion’s public spaces. Things don’t go quite as she planned, especially when their fight gets her fired up in ways she had never thought possible…
The scent of blood reached her nose.
Sophis slowly opened her eyes, rose to her feet, and looked across the open expanse of Chinese rug to Vivek. His chest heaved as he breathed deep and fast, muscles straining against the white t-shirt. She tried to meet his gaze but he had his ice-blue eyes locked on her cheek.
His pupils dilated, blotting out the paleness of his irises.
Sophis raised her hand and touched her cheek. It stung and her fingertips came away wet. Vivek’s eyebrows knitted together but his pupils remained enlarged, fixed on the spot just below her right eye, burning into it.
Her own breathing quickened to match his, the scent of her blood affecting her almost as much as Vivek’s reaction to it. His focus was completely on that single spot on her cheek, honed with such intensity that she doubted he was even aware of the others in the room or their jeers as they waited for the fight to continue.
He wouldn’t back down. Sophis knew that.
This little cut wouldn’t stop him.
If anything, it would only make the fight more vicious and deadly.
It would only increase Vivek’s thirst for violence.
She knew it because it was how she felt as she watched him staring at the blood on her cheek, hunger darkening his eyes, his focus on his desire to taste the precious liquid that went with the scent now filling the pale blue room.
A flood of hunger crashed through her when Vivek wet his lips, tongue roughly capturing the blood that marred them. His blood. Her own ice-blue eyes fell to his mouth, her breath catching in her throat and saliva pooling around her tongue. She wanted to taste it too.
Sophis snarled and launched herself at him. He ducked, dodged to one side, and threw a punch at her. Sophis dropped low and swept her leg out in an attempt to catch his and send him down. He leapt over her attack and landed his own kick on her shoulder. She screamed this time. The tender scar tissue on her back blazed white-hot and she rolled away from Vivek, clutching her shoulder and breathing hard.
A brief flicker of concern lit his eyes.
Sophis growled, pressed her toes into the rug and sprung at him. He dodged, caught her wrist to stop her from passing him, and snapped her back to him. He didn’t get a chance to land the punch she could see coming. She swept under his arm and kicked him in the back with the full length of her shin, sending him flying forwards and over the armchair. He hit the ground with a grunt and rolled to his feet.
And was gone.
Sophis’s senses blared the warning but she wasn’t quick enough to turn. He came up behind her, locked his hand around her right wrist and kicked her feet out from under her. She hit the rug face first and Vivek came down on her, knocking the air from her lungs.
She struggled against the weight of him across her backside and lurched up only for Vivek to shove his hand against her shoulder and press her into the floor. Pain ripped over the scar on the back of her left shoulder and she gritted her teeth to contain the cry that tried to escape her. Tears stung her eyes but she blinked them away, refusing to show weakness in front of her men and Vivek.
Vivek tugged her right arm back, bending it around until it felt as though it would pop free of her shoulder socket.
“Yield.” It was an order.
He wasn’t asking. He was telling her to give up the fight and concede defeat.
“Never,” Sophis spat out, forced her hips up and tipped him off her.
She rolled on top of him before he could move and straddled his stomach, her feet locked between his thighs and her hands pinning his wrists to the floor.
Sophis breathed hard and stared down into Vivek’s icy eyes. Strands of her brown hair had fallen down and grazed his cheek, shifting in the breeze of their combined breaths. His stomach moved beneath her, a steady rise and fall, muscles hard against the apex of her thighs.
The world disappeared for her this time, the jeers of her men fading a little more with each second that she stared into Vivek’s eyes.
The instinct to fight drifted away together with her consciousness of her surroundings as an awareness of only Vivek grew into existence. It shrouded her senses, forcing them to shift to him in their entirety. He lay beneath her, muscles strained and taut, gaze locked on hers, neither submissive nor aggressive.
Her breathing fell into synchronisation with his.
His gaze fell to her cheek. His pupils dilated again, hunger filling his eyes, sparking on her senses in a way that sent heat into her veins.
“Yield,” she whispered, too caught in the moment to put a firmer voice to that word. It should have come out strong and commanding, not so soft and full of desire that was nothing short of disturbing.
Vivek drew a long deep breath. His stomach pressed into her groin, sending a not-too-unpleasant shiver through her.
With a lightning-fast move, he twisted his wrists out of hers, caught her hands, and flipped her.
Sophis’s eyes widened when she found herself lying beneath him with his hips firmly wedged between her thighs. The spark of violence that had risen back into Vivek’s eyes flickered and died as he dragged his gaze over her, heating her with only a look until she burned hotter than she would have if the sun had touched her. What the hell was happening to her?
She struggled against his grip but it only made things worse. His fingertips pressed into the backs of her hands and she realised with horror that he had entwined their fingers, his palms against hers, and had them pinned to the floor on either side of her head.
Worse than that, he was using a part of his anatomy that she didn’t want to think about to keep her hips against the floor, immobilising her lower body.
Sophis swallowed and stared up into Vivek’s eyes as his gaze shifted once more to the cut on her cheek. His lips parted to reveal the tips of his fangs. His cool breath caressed her face. Her breathing hitched. She almost wanted him to go through with it and run his tongue over the line of blood.
Things couldn’t get worse than this.

Ten years have passed since Sophis and Vivek, two vampires of the Venia bloodline, came close to death at the hands of twin hunters Aleksis and Izabella Romanov. The events of that night turned Sophis and Vivek against each other, shattering their close friendship and driving them apart.

With the safety of the rulers of the seven pure vampire bloodlines in their hands and their chance for vengeance hanging in the balance, can Sophis and Vivek face their past and overcome their differences? Sensual Saturday – Hot excerpt from Heart of Darkness (vampire romance novel)
Sensual Saturday is brought to you today by Heart of Darkness, one of my stand alone vampire romance novels which is currently a finalist in the paranormal romance category of the EPIC Ebook Awards 2013. Sensual Saturday’s always feature a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books. Read on for this Saturday’s sensual snippet… it’s a bit of a long one today… less of a snippet, more of a chapter!
“Enter.”
The door opened a crack. Elise poked her head around, the dark rings under her beautiful aquamarine eyes a sign that she was disobeying his orders to rest by leaving her bed. Two days wasn’t enough for one so young to recover from such a strong poison. He hadn’t seen her in that time. A renewed sense of propriety had kept him away. There were rumours about them circulating in the mansion, rumours that he had unwittingly caused. He didn’t care about them himself, but she would, and she would be angry with him because of them.
When the door fully opened, he frowned. She was wearing her uniform. The black waist-length jacket and tight trousers were looser on her slender frame. She needed more blood. He had requested that a supply be given to her. Had it not been enough, or had she not received it?
“Have you recovered?” He crossed the room and halted at the end of the leather couch, barely stopping himself from striding right up to her and cupping her cheek against his palm.
Elise looked pale against the backdrop of dark red walls. The colour reminded him of her bed covers and the way she had looked beneath them, her beautiful body bare and tempting him. He hadn’t been the one to undress her, but he had snuck a glance at her, drawing the covers back enough that he had seen the delightful way she dipped in at the waist and swelled out into rounded hips. The sight of the curve of her left breast where it pressed into the mattress had been too much for him to bear and he’d covered her again, and made himself tend to her.
Elise took a couple of steps into the room, closing the door behind her, and cast a glance around, looking everywhere but at him.
She was beautiful when she was shy.
Aleksandr closed the gap between them and surrendered to his desire to cup her cheek. It was soft and hot beneath his fingers, a flush of colour darkening her skin. He brought her head around to face him. Her eyes lingered on his lips, as though she feared meeting his. Was she still afraid of him?
He stroked his fingers along the gentle slope of her jaw and then trailed them down her throat. He had never hidden his intention and he wasn’t going to start now. He wanted her to know that he was going to win her.
“Let me see,” he whispered and moved around her.
She stood rooted to the spot, staring ahead still, as though transfixed, and didn’t resist him.
Drawing a long deep breath, Aleksandr stepped up behind her. He watched his hands as he skimmed them over her arms and across her chest to the line of black buttons that ran down the middle of her jacket. When the first one gave beneath his fingers, he glanced at her throat and then looked at her face. Her eyes closed and her lips parted. He smiled and moved on to the next button.
Her compliance surprised him. He had expected her to push him away by now. Had something changed in her?
Aleksandr undid the last button by her waist and grazed her stomach with his thumbs as he drew her jacket open. He ran his hands up her arms to her throat and brushed it with his fingers as he slipped them into her collar. She shivered and sighed.
His heart beat harder.
So did hers.
It sounded in his ears, slightly out of sync with his own, creating a divine melody.
He drew her jacket down her arms and off her, tossing it over the back of the couch.
She didn’t move.
He was tempted to ask her what had happened to the feisty defiant side of her but didn’t want to break whatever spell she was under.
Easing his hands up her white shirt-covered back, he paused with his left over the point where the crossbow bolt had struck her. Aleksandr leaned forwards, so his chest brushed her back, and brought his mouth to her ear.
“Does it hurt?” he whispered into it.
Elise shook her head and her ear brushed his lips. She stilled again and then turned her face towards him as though seeking more contact with him.
He remained close to her, his cheek against her ear, as he undid the buttons on her white shirt. He could feel her trembling and hear her heart beating fast. The rise and fall of her chest with her soft quick breaths enticed him, luring him into touching her as he stopped undoing her shirt just below her breasts. He grazed them as he brought his hands up to her shirt collar and her breath stuttered.
When he drew her shirt up and over her shoulder, exposing the smooth milky skin, he groaned. She wasn’t wearing a bra. The memory of her firm round breasts sent a jolt through his body straight to his groin and he moved back so she wouldn’t feel the effect that she had on him.
Elise covered her breasts with her hands even though they weren’t in any danger of being exposed. No matter how much he wished they would be. The buttoned section of her white shirt concealed them.
Aleksandr carefully removed the sticking plaster that covered the wound on her left shoulder blade. The hole where the bolt had been was nothing more than a dark pink scar now but the tissue looked fragile. He ran a finger over it and she shivered.
What spell was she under tonight?
He couldn’t understand her. She had kept him at arm’s length, had told him to leave her alone and had refused him constantly, and suddenly she was letting him touch her. It didn’t make any sense.
What had changed her?
“You must be careful, Elise,” he whispered into her ear. “You are not healed yet. I cannot allow you to return to duty until you are ready.”
“But—”
“No,” he interjected softly. “I will not even entertain the thought. You must rest.”
“Are those your orders as my commander?” There was an edge to her words that warned him that he was beginning to tread on thin ice again.
“If you wish them to be… if that is the only way I can make you rest until you are well.” Aleksandr trailed his gaze up from her shoulder to her throat. He leaned forwards and pressed a kiss to the scar on her shoulder. “Although I would prefer you to take it as an order from your lover.”
She didn’t bolt. He had been sure that she would. Had he won? The thought that he might have left a strange sense of disappointment in his heart. He had wanted their hunt to continue a while longer, and had enjoyed having to fight for her. Her compliance tonight took something away from the sense of satisfaction he had from touching and kissing her.
She was too docile and doll-like. The brief moments in which she had responded to his touch had thrilled him but they weren’t enough. He wanted her alive with desire, yearning for him as he did for her. He didn’t want her like this.
He pressed his lips to her shoulder and then her throat. She trembled again and turned her face towards him.
Aleksandr drew back and looked at her, into her round beguiling eyes that spoke to him of passion and hunger. She held his gaze, her soft breath fanning his face and her body brushing his. She tilted her head towards him and he couldn’t resist the invitation in her eyes as they dropped to his lips.
His mouth claimed hers, his left hand cradling her right cheek, keeping her in place so she couldn’t escape him again. She didn’t respond at first, but then she turned in his arms, pressed her hands to his chest, and kissed him. He closed his eyes, slanted his head, and ran his tongue along her lip. She moaned and opened to him, her own tongue coming out to tangle with his, the taste of her divine.
Her passion overwhelmed him as she stroked her tongue along his and seized control of the kiss. She leaned into him, the length of her soft body pressing against his, and he burned wherever she touched. The feel of her short nails digging into his chest through his shirt, as though she wanted to keep him close to her, thrilled him and enticed him into taking things further. He captured her cheek again with his palm, his fingertips grazing her ear, and she sighed into his mouth, her lips sweeping over his. He slid his hand around to grasp the nape of her neck and deepened the kiss, reclaiming control as he wrapped his other arm around her waist, bringing her into his embrace. She belonged there. His salvation.
She caught him off guard when she broke away and slapped him hard across the cheek. The entire side of his head buzzed with it, his ear ringing, and it drove the lustful haze from his mind.
By the time he had figured out what was happening, Elise had buttoned her shirt and grabbed her jacket.
She turned on him.
“You think you can just make love to me… possess me like any other woman… well you can’t!” She looked as though she was going to hit him again and then stepped back, towards the door. A strange mixture of pain and anger shone in her blue eyes. “I don’t know who you think you are, Aleksandr Nemov, or who you think I am… but I don’t want a man like you. Not now, not ever, and that is never going to change.”
He flinched when the door slammed and then touched his cheek.
It hadn’t quite gone how he’d thought it would.
He stared at the door, her words ringing in his ears.
It had been going well, and it wasn’t as though he had forced himself on her. She had invited the kiss and had responded to him. She had liked it and wanted it.
His cheek tingled, a reminder that she hadn’t liked something.
Aleksandr ran a hand down his face and flopped backwards over the arm of the couch, laying with his legs hooked over the edge. He rested his right forearm across his eyes and let his left arm dangle over the edge of the couch seat so his fingers grazed the rug in front of the fireplace. It had been going well until she had hit him and given him a piece of her mind.
It was more like the Elise he knew, but he had wanted her to remain kissing him then, showing him that she wanted him too. He had no doubt that she was attracted to him now, but her words had left him with something to think about.
A lesser man would deny the truth in them, would say that he didn’t want to possess her or didn’t think that he could just make love to her. He did though, on both counts. He was hunting her and, for a brief moment, had tangled with his prey, and it had been heavenly.
He sighed and considered what to do next. She would be angry with him for a while and he needed to give her some space if he wasn’t going to drive her away completely.
Now that he’d tasted her, he wanted more, and would stop at nothing to get it.

Character profiles for the Her Angel romance series now available at my website
I’ve been working on putting together more information for my website and thought I would start by getting some character profiles up for all the major characters in my books. I’ll be focusing on the heroes and heroines from my three major series (Vampire Erotic Theatre, Vampires Realm, and Her Angel) first and then moving on to the stand alone paranormal romance books, and then finally the science fiction romance books.
I started with the Her Angel romance series and have added the links to the main series page on my website. I’ll be adding the links to the book pages too, but didn’t have time to do that yet. It’s taking me longer than I expected to do each profile, but I wanted them to be informative rather than just a bunch of statistics.
I have all the heroes and heroines of the Her Angel romance series done now, and you can view them at the links below:
Apollyon
Serenity
Lukas
Annelie
Einar
Taylor
Marcus
Amelia
Veiron
Erin
I will eventually add pictures of all the characters but haven’t had a chance to go trawling the stock photo sites finding perfect matches for the Her Angel series characters yet. I already have them for the Vampire Erotic Theatre series, so those profiles might look better when I’ve completed them.
I’d love to hear your opinions on the profiles so far, and also what else you’d really love to see on my website for the series. Glossaries? Background information on the series and worlds? Location information and pictures? I really want to make your experience the best it can be and feel that all this bonus information may go some way towards bringing the characters and the worlds to life for you.
I’m going to work on the Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series characters next, and then the Vampires Realm romance series characters. I think I have 72 main characters in need of profiles, and then all the major secondary characters too. This is going to take a while!

WIP Wednesday – Bonded by Blood vampire romance series with sneak peek excerpt
I’ve taken to talking about my works in progress on Wednesdays at the moment rather than on Fridays. It has a better ring to it! Today, I’m going to talk about one of my current works in progress and then share a sneaky snippet from the first book in the series.
I announced a few weeks back that I had a new vampire romance series in the works. Bonded by Blood is being written for my agent, Jenn, and hopefully we’ll be approaching NYC publishing houses with the first book and the series in 2013. The first book in the series is entitled Blood Lust and is about a vampire warrior called Kaden, and the younger sister of his best friend and leader of this cadre of warriors, Eliana. Of course, falling hard for your best friend’s sister? Not a great idea, and Kaden knows it.
There are seven very hot vampire warriors in the book and I’ve been having fun getting to know them as I write their character profiles, and explore their world too. I’ve been thinking about the history of Eliana, Quinn (her brother) and Kaden. I don’t normally have characters who have such a long history with each other, and it’s been great delving into these three and uncovering how they met, the key times they spent together, and events that shaped their lives, and of course the events that will shape their future lives too.
I think the series is coming together nicely and I will soon be at a point where I can write the initial few chapters and then the story outline, as well as a series arc, for my proposal. Hopefully, the book and series will go down well with my agent and publishers, and will get picked up by someone and then I can write the book in full. I won’t write the book in full until I get a contract for it because I just don’t have the time right now, not if I want to get the other books I’m committed to written and released in 2013!
If you have any questions about the Bonded by Blood series, do feel free to leave a comment with them or email me.
Here’s a sneaky snippet of the opening scene of the book, Blood Lust.
Blood Lust – Sneak Peek“Brother?” Eliana’s soft voice curled around Kaden on the icy breeze, warming him down to his very bones.
Kaden forced himself to keep his eyes on Quinn. If he dared to look at her, Quinn wouldn’t hesitate to lay down some ground rules for the entire house by making an example of him. Everyone knew that Quinn’s sister was off the menu, but normally it wasn’t a problem. Normally, she was back home at the Fairchild mansion, socialising at balls and working for her father’s company. Normally, she wasn’t throwing off fuck-me pheromones.
Quinn swam out of focus as Kaden’s senses worked to pinpoint the lovely Eliana. An electric current pulsed through Kaden’s body, awareness of her chasing over his skin, sensitising it and making it hard to breathe. He had never figured out why she did that to him, set every hair on end and had him panting in a heartbeat, lost and wild for her.
“Come inside,” Eliana whispered and blurry Quinn moved, the huge dark-haired male obeying her softly spoken command.
Kaden remained rooted to the spot, flakes of snow melting on his face and in his hair, chilling his skin. She was watching him, gaze intent and studying, taking him in from his black boots to the soft spikes of his blond hair.
“Eliana.” Quinn’s voice held a note of warning for her too and Kaden sensed her move away.
He risked it and glanced to his right. Her hood was down but the cream coat still swamped her slender frame. Auburn waves curled around her narrow shoulders and his heart froze in his chest when she looked back at him, her pale green eyes lingering on his for a second before she disappeared from view.
Kaden exhaled hard.
Fuck.
He scrubbed a hand down his face.
The scent of her drifted around him, sweet and intense, calling to his darker urges and filling his mind with images of her that he would never forget. The last time they had seen each other.
She had been beautiful then, young and vibrant, full of life. He had marvelled each time he had watched her from a distance at the social gatherings, torturing himself with the sight of her with other males, men more worthy of her notice. Quinn had always been there, and he had smiled back then, grinning and laughing, and forever with his arm slung protectively around her shoulders. She had been coming of age and the entirety of London’s vampire society had been there to help her celebrate. Too many eligible males for Kaden’s liking. He had hung near the back, leaning against the pale yellow wall of the ballroom, his eyes on her. She hadn’t looked at him once.
She had drunk a little too much in the end and Quinn had singled him out as her designated driver. He had taken her home in his Mercedes and helped her out of the car, and that was when it had happened.
She had kissed him.
He shouldn’t have liked it. Definitely shouldn’t have responded to it.
He had done both. He had kissed her hard before he had come to his senses and realised what he was doing, and then he had set her away from him. She had stared up at him with a lost look in her striking green eyes, her dark eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Kaden had marched her to the door of the mansion, opened it for her, and then marched himself to his car and forced himself to leave.
He hadn’t seen her since.
A stronger male would confess that he had been avoiding her. He hadn’t. Not much anyway. So, he hadn’t gone to the Fairchild mansion and had turned down every invitation Quinn had sent, using the excuse that he was busy. After a few weeks, he had let things start to even out again, and had even attended a few of the strictly male social gatherings, reaffirming his friendship with Quinn. He never asked about Eliana though. What was there to ask about? It had been nothing more than a drunken kiss. She probably would have kissed any male, and she probably hadn’t remembered it the night after.
Kaden stared into the warmly lit vestibule of the mansion, feeling as though stepping into the house now would be like stepping into Hell.
Did you enjoy the sneak peek? I’ll have more for you as I write the first book.

Teaseday – Exclusive excerpt from Crave (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 2)
Today’s tease comes from the book Crave, which is the second book in my very popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series.
Here’s some scene setting. Callum works at Vampirerotique as the manager and recruiter of the performers for the premier erotic theatre for vampires, and is in Paris on business, scouting for new recruits for a very special show. The trouble is, his mind has been off business for the first time in a very long time ever since he set eyes on a beautiful female werewolf. Previous to this scene, he had a brief tangle with her when she came to him in a nightclub, but Kristina soon brought it to an end. Kristina is on the run from her pack and the last thing she needs is to get involved with a vampire, even if he is drop dead gorgeous and she can’t keep her eyes off him…
What was she doing?
When she had fled England, Kristina had vowed to avoid interacting with werewolves. It was safest that way, no matter how much she often craved the company of her kind. All packs had a unique scent, something a werewolf could smell on each other and recognise. Part of her training as a cub had been spent on burning knowledge of the European werewolf packs and their scents into her mind. It was something all packs taught their young. The man now grinding against her backside and turning her stomach with his dominant grip on her was from a local pack here in Paris but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t turn her over.
She had been on the run from her pack for months now but she was sure they were still looking for her.
This was a mistake.
Kristina tried to get free of her partner but his thick arm tightened across her stomach, holding her firm. A spark of panic leapt through her blood and she struggled to tamp it down and disguise it so he wouldn’t sense it in her. She made out she was turning in his arms and he allowed it, his large hands moving to her backside, clutching and squeezing.
What the Hell had she been thinking?
The vampire had scared her and she had gone running to her own kind. Pathetic. She was stronger than that. So his fangs had come out and she had felt their sharp tips on her tongue, that didn’t mean he had intended to bite her. Not everything she had been told about vampires was true. She had thought she had known that, had accepted it as fact, and had always been proud of herself for being able to see that vampires weren’t really a threat unless you made them one by provoking them. It turned out that she was wrong and she hadn’t accepted it after all. The moment his fangs had touched her, she had panicked and lashed out, her heart rocketing and hackles rising. Everything bad she had ever been told about vampires had shot through her mind and she had gone with it rather than telling herself that it was just desire that had brought his fangs out. It was a reaction her kind shared with vampires. Whenever she got a little overexcited, her canines extended against her will.
She should have been flattered by his reaction to her kiss, not sought to knock his fangs out.
She was no better than every other werewolf. They had driven fear of vampires, horror stories about them, so deep into her mind that she couldn’t escape it even when she thought that she had.
The male werewolf leaned down towards her and she stiffened in his arms, fear of him rising inside her and telling her to break away from him, that he would try to dominate her just as her alpha had. She had to run.
His warm breath washed over her skin, turning her stomach, and she shrank backwards, trying to escape his touch. She had been a fool to run back to her own kind for protection. She had probably been safer with the vampire than she was with this male. They all wanted the same thing from her, all smelt her readiness to mate and took it to mean that she wanted them when she didn’t. She wasn’t interested in bearing cubs like a dutiful female. She wanted a life.
A firm cool hand on her shoulder caused her to jump. The start of a shriek escaped her before she clamped down hard on it and the world whirled past her in a blur of blue and purple neon and laser lights. A hard wall of black slammed against her and a low threatening snarl curled out over the pumping music.
Her instincts sparked, senses zeroing in on the male werewolf at her back and the dark presence of vampire in front of her. The vampire’s arm tightened around her, pressing her to his chest, and he snarled again, a feral sound that a werewolf would have been proud of making. The werewolf growled back but it lacked the strength and ferocity of the vampire’s, sounding weak and tailing off at the end.
Kristina glanced up at her unlikely saviour, looking past the strong defined line of his jaw and the sensual mouth that had sent her head spinning with only a kiss, beyond his straight nose that said he might be an aristocrat vampire, to the red coals of his irises and the vertical slits of his pupils. He growled again, bearing his fangs. They were enormous now, fully extended as he threatened the werewolf behind her.
The werewolf snarled back at him and she sensed the two other male werewolves rise from their seats, heading out of the booth to back up their leader.
Kristina wasn’t sure how to defuse the situation before it exploded. She did the first thing that came to her.
She tiptoed, caught the vampire’s cheek in her palm, and kissed him.

Sensual Saturday – Hot excerpt from Covet (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 1)
Sensual Saturday is brought to you today by Covet, which is the first book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Sensual Saturday’s always feature a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books. Read on for this Saturday’s sensual snippet…
Javier.
It was dark where he crossed the theatre using the strip of open red carpet between the raised black stage and the front row of the audience, but she knew it was him. She would recognise his fine athletic figure anywhere and the haphazard mess of his sandy brown hair. His suit jacket was gone but other than that he hadn’t changed from when she had seen him earlier. Her heart had lodged in her throat when she had looked up to find him there, watching her, his rich chocolate eyes intent on her and stirring heat in her veins. She had thought he would say something about what she had done, would berate her in front of everyone, and had even braced herself for the hard edge his words would have. When he had spoken, his tone had been surprisingly soft, warm with his Spanish accent lacing the words. She could listen to him forever, sometimes drifted away when he was issuing orders to the staff first thing in the evening and last thing in the morning, imagining him speaking close to her ear. Just the memory of his voice had her heartbeat accelerating, a flush of heat sweeping over her skin. Her teeth teased her lower lip. She had to stop torturing herself like this. Javier would never do such a thing with her. He had taken care of her over the past two years but he took care of all his staff, whether they were vampire or human. She wasn’t special to him.
Lilah leaned forwards, following him until he disappeared beneath her. Was he coming up?
He had said that he would speak to her later about what she had done. She both feared it and looked forward to it.
She picked up the broom again, intending to sweep the floor so she would look busy if Javier was coming to see her, but her gaze caught on the show.
Three men were pleasuring one woman in the middle of the luxurious red and gold stage set, all of them vampires right now, but she knew that would change before the final act. It was early in the show. With each act, things grew a little more risqué and a lot darker. The moans of the four vampires writhing naked on stage filled the theatre, the rapt audience watching in silence. The woman sat reclined on a red velvet armchair, her legs splayed over the arms and a man between them. Another stood to one side of her, one hand tangled in her blonde hair, holding her mouth to his cock as he thrust into it, his other hand on the erection of the man behind the armchair, pumping it as he kissed him. Lilah tried to drag her eyes away but found that she couldn’t when another two women joined the group, both of them human and both of them under the thrall of two of the vampires on stage. She could tell it by their glassy expressions. They walked calmly forwards on black stiletto heels, their sheer feather-trimmed baby dolls barely concealing their breasts and the black leather thongs they wore. Two of the naked men broke away from the vampire female as the third man pulled her onto her knees on the armchair and thrust into her from behind, causing her to cry out.
The two female humans approached the male vampires who held them under their thrall, teetering on the heels now, a hint of nerves flickering on their faces. The males were lessening their control over them, letting them see where they were and that an audience was watching them. The scent of their fear would satisfy the gathered elite and the humans would still be under the vampires’ spells enough that they wouldn’t think to escape.
The human women sat down on the two red leather couches positioned in the middle of the stage, one on each. Crimson spotlights bathed them, making them look as though blood covered their skin. In perfect synchronisation, the broad bare male vampires crouched before their woman, lifted the opposite leg to each other and started to kiss along it from ankle to knee.
It wasn’t turning her on.
Lilah told herself it a thousand times over but the sight of the vampire couple fornicating at the front of the stage and the forced seduction happening behind them had her heart pounding and her nipples hardening against the tight top of her uniform dress.
“I need to question you about Victor.” Javier’s deep accented voice coming from behind her caused her to drop her broom and turn.
She panted hard, startled and trying to get her arousal under control so he wouldn’t sense it.
His dark brown gaze slid to the stage and then back to her.
Lilah quickly bent to pick up her broom. When she straightened, Javier’s eyes were on her dress, his pupils wide in the low light coming up from below. The moans on stage grew louder and she tried to ignore them and push the images of the couples out of her mind.
“Why did you hit Victor?” Javier said, more composed than she was. Didn’t the show affect him at all? He had crossed the theatre without pausing to watch and his eyes were fixed on her now. She had heard that he and his partners had been running the theatre for almost a century. He had probably grown immune to whatever was playing out on the stage.
“Because he was hurting Nia.” It came out blunter than she had intended and she added, “Sir.”
Javier’s eyebrow rose. “Victor said you had no grounds to strike him.”
“Then he’s a liar and a bastard.”
“He’s an elite.” The darkness in his tone was reprimand enough to Lilah. She bowed her head.
“My apologies.” She couldn’t bring herself to look at Javier so she glanced to one side when she brought her head back up. It was a mistake. The act on stage was getting hotter, with the two humans now kneeling on the couches and swallowing the rigid cocks of their partners as they stood before them. She ripped her gaze away and closed her eyes, figuring it was safer. That way she didn’t risk seeing the anger in Javier’s eyes or the debauchery on stage, and she could keep a clear head. “He was forcing himself on Nia and she told him to stop. When he didn’t, I hit him. I thought he might stop and block me.”
“He said Nia was cut. He was under the influence of his hunger. That is why he didn’t stop.”
That made sense. “Nia cut her hand on some glass. A mirror in the main dressing room had broken. We had to clean it up and she cut herself.”
He muttered a ripe curse in Spanish and stepped towards her. “Were you cut?”
Lilah opened her eyes, looked up into the dark pools of his, and shook her head. “No.”
The relief that swamped his eyes surprised her and sent fear into her blood. What if she had been the one to cut herself? Would Victor have tried to touch her and taste her instead? Would Nia have tried to stop him or would she have let him hurt her?
“You must be more careful around our kind,” Javier said and she nodded slowly, unable to take her eyes off his.
The moans from the stage grew louder and she blushed when Javier looked towards the performance.
“Will I be punished?” She tried to shut out the sounds. Javier’s gaze returned to her and he shook his head.
“Victor overstepped the line.” He frowned and turned quiet for so long that she couldn’t ignore the noises coming from the stage. She glanced across at them. Javier’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Do you like to watch them?”
Her eyes shot wide and she instantly shook her head. He stepped closer, slid his hand over her jaw in a way that had her shivering and her breath quaking, and carefully turned her face towards the stage. His thumb and fingers remained against her face, holding her gently, warming her down to her bones and causing a flood of arousal to sweep through her.
He traced his hand down her throat and stepped up behind her. What was he doing? She trembled under his touch, anticipating pain from it but feeling nothing but pleasure.
“Does it arouse you when you watch them fucking?” he breathed into her ear and she shivered, her eyelids dropping, a ripple of shock running over her skin at hearing him say such a thing.

WIP Wednesday – Guardians of Hades Book One (paranormal romance) sneak peek excerpt
I’ve had a few people ask about what’s happening with my Guardians of Hades series that I was chatting about so much on my blog recently. Well, now that I’ve spent the better part of my day printing driving routes and maps for my impending trip around New Zealand, I can get back to work and update you all on this paranormal romance series all about seven very sexy Greek gods, who just happen to be the sons of Hades and Persephone, and are our only hope of surviving some cataclysmic event that is about to happen…
I’ve completed the first draft of the first book, which features the second eldest brother as the hero. Originally, I was writing this series with a view to pitching it to my agent and then having her tout it around NYC trying to find a home for it. That changed when I realised that I am extremely attached to this series. I’ve been working on it for 4 years already and I don’t want to see it altered in any way from how I envisage it. The trouble is, if a publisher decides after three books that the series is no longer for them, they will probably make me change things about it to have it end at book three, or four, or whatever. This is a seven book series and I would be gutted if it was cut short or altered from my vision in any way. So, I’ll be keeping it firmly in my hands and most likely self-publishing it instead, as I know I can get it to run to all seven books that way. I am now writing the Bonded by Blood series for my agent instead.
If you’re wondering when the first Guardians of Hades series book will come out, I’m currently aiming for a release date of late 2013 as I want to write the second and third book before I release the first book, and have them released one after the other. If you have any questions about the series, please don’t be shy! Feel free to ask them in the comments section or drop me an email.
Here’s a snippet from the first draft to keep you all excited about this series…
Guardians Of Hades Book One – Sneak PeekMegan woke on the couch, stiff and sore, and very irritable and tired. Her gaze scanned the unfamiliar apartment and she frowned as everything came back to her. It explained her lingering fatigue but not the tightness in her back. She grimaced when she slowly sat up and her neck cracked. It ached and she rubbed it, trying to ease the knot in her spine. It made her head pound and she glared at the crimson couch. Expensive furniture shouldn’t be so uncomfortable. She kneaded her neck and shoulders, and glanced towards the windows. Was it dawn or evening? She couldn’t tell. The golden sky could be either.
Stifling a yawn, Megan rose from the couch. She pressed her hands into her back and arched forwards, trying to crack at least some of it into place. The thumping in her heart worsened.
If it was dawn, those men would come back soon.
She trudged around the couch and crossed the living room to the open wall of the bedroom, intending to check the patient. The bed was empty. She blinked several times, frowning the whole time and trying to wake up. The man was gone. Great. She wasn’t sure what Daimon would do to her if she had lost his brother, but she was certain it would be painful.
There was a clunk and then the sound of running water.
Megan turned around to face the living room and followed the sound to a room on her right. The oak door was open. She stopped in front of it and her eyes widened.
Sweet lord above.
He was nude.
Her heart pounded harder than her head and she told herself to look away.
Her eyes were having none of it. They remained glued on the tall, luscious, nude warrior in the double-width shower cubicle. He had his back to her, sinewy muscles shifting with each move he made as he ran his hands over his overlong dark hair, slicking it away from his face. Oh my. Her cheeks scalded and her body followed suit, heating to a thousand degrees. The man was a god, from his long muscular legs, to the firm globes of his backside, right up to his strong back and powerful arms.
The lower portion of the glass door steamed up and stole away a slice of his beauty but still left the rest of him on show. And what a delicious view it was.
Water ran over his shoulders, chasing in rivulets between muscles that she wanted to run her fingers over again.
She had to leave.
Megan frowned. Not yet. Just a few seconds longer. It wasn’t every day, or even every year, that she got to see living perfection standing only a metre from her. Who knew when the next opportunity to ogle a real life gorgeous nude man would come along? Probably never.
He pressed his palms into the tiles and hung his head forwards, under the steaming jet. Water ran over his back in a torrent. He had a sexy back with broad strong shoulders that tapered perfectly into a narrow waist.
His fist slammed into the wall, cracking tiles, and Megan jumped. Time to leave him alone.
He began to turn around.
Megan leapt backwards into the living room and panicked.
She raced around the couch and sat in the middle of it with her hands in her lap.
Sat very still.
Stared at the far wall and the dark screen of the huge television.
Her heart hammered.
The shower switched off.
Megan panicked again. She quickly lay down on the couch and closed her eyes. What the heck was she doing? Pretending to be asleep? She wasn’t sure why she did it but for some reason it seemed better than him catching her awake.
She waited, doing her best to look like she was sleeping. She wasn’t sure what to expect.
He muttered a few gruff things she didn’t catch and then she heard him enter the room. Her heart thumped. He was still for so long that she wondered what he was doing, and then he moved again and she swore she could feel the heat of his gaze on her as he stood behind the couch. He lingered there for long seconds and she was tempted to feign waking so she could look up at him and see his beautiful dark eyes. Would there be red in them as he watched her? She wanted to know why his eyes did that at times, how they could do that.
He moved away before she could pretend to wake and she cracked an eye open. He was in his bedroom, wearing only a white towel around his waist and looking just as delicious as he had in the shower. He turned around and she quickly relaxed into the cushion again, continuing her charade.
Megan tensed when he stopped close to her again. She could barely breathe, hyper-aware of him where he stood behind the couch, towering over her. A droplet of water landed on her bare right arm and goose bumps broke out along its length.
Her skin prickled and she swore he was close to touching her, could feel his hand glide up her arm towards her face.
Megan rolled onto her back and slowly opened her eyes, feigning waking. She lifted her gaze to him and he stole her breath. He stood over her, his hair wet and slicked back. Drops of water rolled down his chiselled torso. He stared down at her. It was the first time she had seen him fully in good light. He was stunning, his sculpted cheeks and the cut line of his jaw making him appear rough but oh-so-masculine. Everything about him made him look like a warrior, a man of strength and action, a man who made her quiver in her core. The fine layer of stubble coating his jaw only added to his intense masculinity and he had the most sensual mouth she had ever seen. Her gaze locked with his and she shivered. His dark eyes were as incredible as she remembered them and striking with the flecks of red and gold that danced against a deep brown backdrop.
Tension radiated between them but Megan didn’t know what to say.
She opened her mouth to speak but no sound came out, so she swallowed to wet her throat.
“What are you doing in my apartment?” he said, voice a deep rumble that cranked up the heat inside her.
Still looking forward to the series?

Teaseday – Exclusive excerpt from Her Demonic Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 5)
Today’s tease comes from the book Her Demonic Angel, which is the fifth book in my popular Her Angel romance series.
Here’s some scene setting. Veiron, the hero and a Hell’s angel, has just trekked through Hell on a mission to save Erin, the younger sister of the heroine of Her Guardian Angel, Amelia. With Erin safely in tow, and firmly on his mind, Veiron leads her back out of Hell, but can’t bring himself to tell her that he’s a Hell’s angel, just like the demons who took her from her bed and brought her down to Hell and the Devil. The course of true love never runs smoothly, and the romance between Veiron and Erin is no different… especially when she puts her foot in it without realising it!
“Those horrible black demons with the red fangs and eyes?” She shuddered from the memory of them. “I never want to see another one of those bastards again in my life.”
Veiron suddenly released her arm and prowled on at a faster pace, heading up an incline. Erin tried to keep up but he was moving too quickly and her feet were killing her. Each step sent fire burning across her soles and she wasn’t sure how much longer she could keep going without a rest.
“Veiron?” she said but he didn’t stop. He kept going, the gap between them gradually growing, until he was more than one hundred feet ahead of her and she began to feel exposed and scared again.
Erin held herself and kept hobbling on, tears stinging her eyes. Her gaze darted around and she swore she could feel eyes on her, following her. She shivered, cold to the bone with fear, and her heart rushed in her ears.
“Veiron?” She tried again and he still didn’t acknowledge her.
He disappeared over the brow of the hill. Erin panicked.
She ran despite the fire that licked her feet and the pain that jolted her bones with each step. The land beyond the hill came into view as she neared the brow and she slowed when she saw Veiron standing there, his back to her and his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
The hill ended abruptly, as though someone had carved away the other half of it. It dropped off into a valley over a hundred feet below her. Bright, boiling fire filled the world as far as her eyes could see.
“We will have to go around,” Veiron said, voice deceptively calm and emotionless.
She could easily fool herself into believing that he had just gone on ahead to scout what waited on the other side of the incline but she wasn’t that sort of woman. He had intended to leave her. She had put her foot in it again. Was it because she had placed them in danger by trying to free those creatures?
“I wish there was an easier way.” Veiron looked down at her but she kept her gaze on the brutal landscape. There wasn’t even a path. It was endless fire. “Hell is ever-changing. A few days ago, we could have passed through this way. There is nothing I can do to make this journey easier on you… if I use my powers, they will know that I am here. With that demon wailing about you, it won’t take the Devil long to figure out that you’re missing and that you’re with me.”
“What sort of powers?” She glanced at him.
He grunted and turned away. “We can follow the ridge and rest up ahead. Can you manage it, or are you going to swallow that pride of yours and let me help you?”
She would rather he answered her questions and stopped evading them.
“I’m fine,” Erin said instead and began walking again, trying not to wince with each step so he had no reason to call her stubborn and force her to let him carry her. As much as she wanted to be in his arms, she didn’t enjoy the prospect of being slung over his shoulder again, and his current mood said he would be carrying her that way or no way at all.
Two hundred yards down the rocky path, Veiron shocked her by speaking.
“I could teleport you out of this place,” he said without looking at her. “I could materialise you boots so you didn’t have to hurt your feet and clothes so you felt more comfortable. I could even produce some viable source of nourishment or perhaps even water if I focused enough… although I am not sure how good it would taste. I could do a lot of things, but the moment I use a fraction of my power, everyone will know where we are.”
That wasn’t so hard now, was it? Erin sighed and wished that he could do all that for her too, but it wasn’t worth the risk. If Veiron not using his powers kept them off the radar of the locals and allowed them to get out of Hell unscathed, then she wasn’t going to complain. She touched his left wrist and he looked at her. He had told her a little about himself and she was grateful, because she knew that he had a good heart underneath his hard lethal exterior. He had used her to illustrate his powers and that told her that he cared about her condition and he wanted to alleviate her pain. She couldn’t let him use his powers, but she could let him use his strength.
“Can you carry me now?” she said and his look softened and he nodded.
Sparks of nerves danced in her stomach when he opened his thickly muscled arms to her, bent at the knee and wrapped them around her. He didn’t sling her over his shoulder.
He lifted her in one arm and slid the other beneath the crook of her knees, carrying her like a princess in a fairytale.
Erin leaned her head against his bare shoulder. “Thank you.”
He shrugged. “We’ll be somewhere safe soon. Get some shut eye and I’ll wake you when we reach it.”
Erin thought she was too wired to sleep, too alert to the dangers around her, but the moment she closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath of Veiron’s smell of aftershave, dirt and heat, a wave of fatigue crashed over her and the world faded away. She felt so safe in his strong arms.
