Sensual Sunday – Hot new excerpt from Bewitch (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 5)
Because I now participate in Snippet Saturday most weeks, I’ve decided to move my Sensual Saturday over to Sunday!
Sensual Sunday is brought to you today by Bewitch, which is the fifth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Bewitch is due for release on January 19th 2013, so add the date to your calendar!
Sensual Sunday always features a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books and for the next few weeks it will focus solely on Bewitch. Read on for this Sunday’s sensual snippet…
Payne turned to face her.
She stood in the middle of the narrow street, her silver eyes dark with determination, her breathing as rapid as her heartbeat. Payne took a step towards her and she lashed out at him with the rope. He easily caught the end of it before it could strike him.
Payne stared at her. She struggled with the rope, trying to pull it free of his grip, her pretty face twisting in anger and her eyes bright with it too. Hay stuck out of her long chestnut hair in places, the tousled waves resembling more of a bush than the beautiful glossy locks they had been before her tumble in the baskets and beating with a broom. She looked like a wild animal, feral and vicious.
Payne wanted to tame her.
He held her attention. The sparks of silver in her striking eyes brightened. He took a step towards her, gathering the rope at the same time, keeping it taut between them. She raised her other hand and a golden orb glowed close to her palm. She didn’t want to let him near her. He got the message and ignored it too. He kept moving towards her, steady steps, his eyes constantly locked on hers. He could see she didn’t want to lower that magic or let him close to her, even as he worked to change it. He hated to use his natural talents on anyone but she was going to get herself killed if he didn’t get her off the street soon. Those males would come back with more like them.
She blinked slowly. Payne lost focus as her long dark lashes shuttered her incredible eyes, stealing them from view. The distraction cost him. She smiled and yanked the rope. It slipped from his grasp and she lashed out with it, catching him hard across the cheek. He didn’t flinch, didn’t take his eyes off her. The smell of his blood mixed with the scents in the air.
Payne kept slowly advancing, his eyes on hers, keeping them riveted on him. She wanted to give up her fight. She wanted him. He sent that feeling to her, filling her mind with thoughts of them together, trying to convince her to lower her guard.
She drew her arm back to strike again.
Payne teleported just as she let loose with the rope and appeared right in front of her. He caught her wrists, his eyes still on hers. She stared up at him, her sensual rosy lips parted in shock and her eyes dark with desire that swirled into him through the point where they touched, feeding his hunger. Her breathing quickened to short soft pants. He had never heard anything so erotic and alluring. He wanted to hear her panting like that into his ear as he thrust into her welcoming wet heat.
“I won’t hurt you,” he whispered and her pupils dilated. “Give in to me.”
He felt her relax. Her fingers opened and the rope fell from them.
Her dark eyebrows drew together and her pupils narrowed. She yanked her right hand free of his grip and slammed her fist into his cheek, splitting open the gash there from the whip. Payne grabbed her wrist again and held them both in a bruising grip. It seemed she was a little immune to his charm.
“I won’t hurt you,” he repeated and her struggling slowed until she was wriggling against him in a way that fired him up.
He shoved her away and scowled at her. She blinked into his eyes and then dropped her gaze to his hands where they clutched her wrists. It rose to his cheek and she stilled.
“You’re bleeding.” She spoke in English, her voice soft and light, full of warmth that curled through him, easing his tension.
Was his charm offensive getting through to her now? He focused on her and his incubus side didn’t purr. Evidently not.
She pulled her hand free of his and gently pressed the pads of her fingers to the skin below the cut on his cheek. Payne hissed in a sharp breath, heat flooding him, all stemming from the point where she touched him. He stared down into her silver-grey eyes, hungry thoughts spinning through his mind, his body reacting swiftly.
She broke free of him, a soft gasp escaping her sinful mouth and her cheeks darkening. Had she sensed his thoughts? She smoothed her plain black dress, looking for all the world as if she was doing her best to smooth her feelings with it. Her heartbeat was all over the place and he could sense her desire.
“Come with me.”

Bewitch blurb reveal and teaser excerpt
It isn’t long now until the release of Bewitch on January 19th, and I’ve had fantastic feedback about the book from my advance reviewers, and from everyone here at the blog whenever I’ve posted sneak-peek excerpts from the book. Now that we’re closing in on the release day (only nine more days to wait!) I wanted to post the summary of the book, so you can get a better feel for what you’ll be experiencing in Bewitch as sassy witch Elissa takes Payne by the horns!

And here’s a snippet from the book to keep you on the edge of your seat as you wait for the release day to roll around…
Bewitch – Sneak PeekPayne used the walk to get his hunger back in check. He would go with the witch to wherever she was leading him, gain her trust and then get her to tell him the location of the place he sought. She could speak fae and others knew her here, so she clearly knew the area well. She would be able to lead him to his destination. Problem solved.
He tried to keep his eyes off her backside.
It was impossible.
The image of saucy red knickers had been burned on his mind.
He would never look at witches the same again. Who knew what they hid beneath that plain boring black dress? He had never imagined it would be naughty knickers.
She turned down another street to her left, leading him through the rabbit warren of buildings. There were fewer stores in this neighbourhood. Most of the single storey buildings looked like residences, most of them painted in bright colours. Stalagmites rose from the flat roofs of many of them, reaching upwards towards their deadly counterparts on high.
Payne stopped a few steps into the new narrow street and backtracked. He raised a single dark eyebrow at the wooden sign affixed to the painted black wall of the building nearest the crossroads. Well, what did’ya know. He took a piece of paper from his pocket and matched the symbols to those of the street name. Bingo. We have a winner.
The witch had stopped and was staring at him, curiosity burning in her silvery eyes.
He didn’t need her after all.
He stalked past her, checking each door for the right symbol. Somewhere down here was the witch he had come to find. His eyes darted from the crumpled piece of paper in his hand to the painted purple wooden door of the pink stone building on his left. Match.
He rapped his knuckles against the door.
The female witch stopped beside him. He glanced at her. She was frowning now and it didn’t suit her. He didn’t like how she looked as though she was trying to see right through him to wheedle out his secrets.
He opened his mouth to explain himself.
She slid a brass key into the lock, twisted it and pushed the door open. She breezed into the dark building and lights came on, glowing warmly and illuminating the clutter in the small room.
She lived here?
She was the witch?
Bewitch is due for release on January 19th, but may reach some retailers earlier. I’ll keep you all posted!

Caris Roane shares a glimpse of the sexy winged vampires of her Guardians of Ascension series
I have the wonderful and talented Caris Roane at my blog today to share a glimpse into the world of her winged vampires in the Guardians of Ascension paranormal romance series she writes. I’ll hand the post over to Caris now…
Hi, everyone! I want to thank Felicity for having me today as part of my WARM-UP-YOUR-WINTER BLOG TOUR. On most of the blogs on this tour, I’ll be revealing excerpts from the sixth book in my vampire series called, GATES OF RAPTURE (12/24). I created the tour with the hope that you might get to know my Guardians of Ascension, who are my most beloved winged vampire warriors. I know the covers have wings on them, but the books aren’t about angels AT ALL… just vampires… with wings. I also have goodies for you to win, details to follow!
GATES OF RAPTURE is the sixth installment of Guardians of Ascension and features Warrior Leto, a famous, ancient Warrior of the Blood, six-six, long straight black hair, piercing blue eyes, and built to battle death vampires for centuries and drive the ladies crazy! Major yummy! Romantic Times Magazine gave GATES OF RAPTURE a 4 ½ Star, TOP PICK review! I couldn’t be happier!
For the excerpt today, I chose a scene in which Leto reviews how his recent return to Endelle’s service happened. He’s stunned at the all the changes in his life, including Grace’s presence. After a long night battling, Endelle, the ruler of Second Earth, sent Leto and Grace to Warrior Antony’s villa, with armed guards patrolling the estate. Grace is exhausted. Here’s how the scene unfolds…
EXCERPT FROM CHAPTER 11:
Once at the villa, Leto stared at the couch in Medichi’s formal living room and the memories flooded back.
Five months ago, Luken had supported him, half-carrying him to the sofa where Leto had thought he would breathe his last. Though Grace had fed him twice from her vein, it hadn’t been enough, and Leto had been near death. He’d been taking dying blood a long time, a hundred years, but he’d made the decision: No more. If he had stayed the course, he would have died, probably that very night.
But his brother warriors and their brehs, had stepped in and changed everything. Havily donated her powerful, unusual blood and he had been permanently healed from his addiction. He never again experienced the severe cramping that occurred at the withdrawal of dying blood. He owed his life to Havily, and to her breh, Marcus, who had allowed him to take her blood, and to their small group for providing all the extra support he’d needed.
Seeing the couch now brought it all back, how his life had changed forever in that moment. Glancing at Grace and giving her hand a squeeze, he was grateful.
She met his gaze and smiled. He just wished that he could see the future more clearly especially the why of his beast-state and just what role he was meant to play in Grace’s life, even in his world. And what would happen if he really was in his ascension to Third Earth?
Grace had spoken more than once about how she had gone through life as a ghost and the truth was he could relate. Even though they’d completed the breh-hedden and even though they had amazing sex together, he didn’t feel a complete connection to her.
But he didn’t blame her. He blamed himself. He was as much a ghost as she was. In all his long life, he’d never truly given his heart to another ascender for safekeeping, not once. Maybe the death of his mother had ruined him in that way, but he kept an invisible emotional barrier all around his heart, always protecting himself, always working hard to be the best warrior, perhaps unwilling to love until the last death vampire was slain.
It was in this way that neither he nor Grace had been ready to complete the breh-hedden. It felt strange to be able to feel the pressure of his palm against hers, to know what his skin and the squeeze of his hand felt like from her point of view. They were so close and yet still so far apart. He wondered if he could ever truly let go with her, truly give his heart completely, truly yield to all that the breh-hedden could be.
Parisa appeared from a side hall at the southern end of the villa. She carried several black towels folded over her arms. “I found some extras in the second suite. I’m putting you in the room closer to the library.” When she reached a rectangular table in the center of the hall, she waved them forward then gestured to her left.
Leto put his arm loosely around Grace’s waist as he walked beside her down the hall.
Parisa was another beauty, Antony’s breh. She wasn’t as tall as Grace, perhaps an inch or so shorter. Her hair was long, dark brown, and layered. She had extraordinary violet eyes.
She led them to a room on the left and as she pushed the door open, she said, “Antony won’t be home until dawn. He’s out battling at the New River Borderland. Of course, as soon as he gets back, I’ll be putting him to bed.” A faint blush climbed her cheeks as she held the door wide.
Grace passed into the room and Leto followed her. The bed was a massive carved mahogany and looked bigger than a king, which was a real plus, especially if Leto went beast. Grace moved to stand near the doorway leading to the bathroom, her arms folded across her chest.
“I know this has been a long night,” Parisa said, her voice quiet. “But please make the villa your home, especially the kitchen. Have anything you like.” She glanced from one to the other. “Sleep well.”
She closed the door.

WIP Wednesday – The first draft of Unleash is underway and Snow is on the loose!
The first draft of the final book in my Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series is underway!
It’s the one everyone has been waiting for. Yes, Snow is on the loose and he’s finally going to get a female in his life.
I’ve been nervous about writing this book, and those nerves have increased a hundredfold every time I’ve released a book in the series because reader expectations have been rising along with the sheer number of Snow’s fans. I feel I have a high bar to hit with this one, and I’m woman enough to admit that it scares me.
I experienced a similar bout of fear when I began writing Her Demonic Angel, because everyone had said amazing things about Her Guardian Angel, most of the time mentioning that they couldn’t wait to see where things were going to go and that the next book was going to be something awesome. Yes, I suffered nerves. Cold sweats. Complete writer’s block. Okay, not complete, but as complete as I get it. I still wrote, I was just slower and had more doubts about the book.
I’m getting over my nerves about Unleash now though. I think Snow’s book is going to satisfy his fans, although I’m certain that the heroine won’t be receiving much love from readers as she’s stealing Snow’s heart. It’s a very complex relationship, and I see plenty of scenes where readers will be angry with a character in the book, crying for some reason, or just fanning themselves.
I’m 32000 words into the book so far, and we’re just getting going. I’ve completed my outline for it now, taking almost a full day away from writing the book today to get it done. Time constraints and a deadline to start writing the book conspired to have me beginning the first draft without a full outline for the book. I was working with a basic outline of events and sheets of scene notes that were all numbered. It was hard work flitting between that basic outline, to whatever number I had scrawled in the margin next to a certain event. Now I have a full outline, and I couldn’t be happier. I compiled it all today, and added 6000 words of either new notes or changes to make everything fit.
Judging by the outline now, I have around 11 chapters left to write, and that will probably bring the completed first draft up to around 75000 words in total. That’s 11000 longer than Bewitch, and 20000 longer than Seduce. There’s a chance it could end up longer too.
I’ll let you all know how it goes!
I can’t wait to begin sharing snippets with you all!

Teaseday – Exclusive excerpt from Bewitch (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 5)
Today’s tease comes from the book Bewitch, which is the fifth book in my very popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series and is due for release on January 19th 2013. Read on for your Tuesday tease from…
The steps ended and he followed the uneven earth floor. The tunnel grew larger until it opened onto a high plateau at the start of a cavern. His eyes switched back to their normal grey and the world dulled to a more manageable level of brightness. Enormous rust-coloured stalactites hung from the ceiling arching above him, as though the cave had grown fangs, rows of them, all sharp and wicked in the golden glow rising up from below. Their menacing shadows stretched long across the roof, adding to the sense of danger that he liked. He could live in a place like this. A vampire liked mystery. It was perfect for his kind.
Or it would be if it weren’t for the thousands of fae that bustled in the small underground town spread out below him.
Stone buildings covered the huge base of the cavern, a hotchpotch collection of square flat-roofed structures of different heights. Some were two storeys but most of them were a single level, with large windows and tattered canopies reaching out from them into the narrow streets, each a different jewel-tone colour. Some of the ones directly below him bore crests or fae words he didn’t understand. Alleys wound between the stores and homes in stilted lines that reminded Payne of veins. His stomach growled a reminder that he hadn’t eaten in days, not since he had started out from Vampirerotique on this ridiculous mission.
Scents rose from copper stills, thatched baskets, vials and terracotta or stone jars that stood on display outside the stores on his left, and a wooden arch at the start of one of the streets declared it was the witches’ district. Fae and other creatures crammed the streets, passing from store to store. There had to be close to five thousand fae and other creatures in the area.
Payne studied them, an increasing sense of dread churning in his stomach.
Witches didn’t like vampires. His kind had almost driven them to extinction many centuries ago and they hadn’t forgiven them for it.
Still, he had to go down there. He had made a promise and he intended to keep it. He smiled to himself as he thought about the succubus who needed his help. She had chosen to call herself Chica. Andreu, her lover and one of the vampires who worked at the erotic London theatre with Payne, had explained that it was a pet name that he had called her a few times. Payne couldn’t blame her for keeping her real name secret.
He knew firsthand the danger of giving your true name to someone.

GraveTells Author of the Year, 2013 Epic Award Finalist, ebooks in Top 1000 on Amazon Kindle, and more!
I had a rather fantastic end to a wonderful 2012!
A few of my books have been dipping in and out of the Top 1000 positions on Amazon Kindle Store in the UK, with Crave (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 2) sitting in the Top 1000 for the past seven days! Other books that have hit the Top 1000 there this week are Covet (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 1) and Prophecy: Caelestis & Aurorea (Vampires Realm romance series book 2).
I also woke up this morning to see that FIVE out of the Top 10 Fantasy Romance books on Apple iTunes were my books. That’s right! Five out of ten! How amazing is that? Number 3 was Prophecy: Dark Moon Rising (Vampires Realm romance series book 3), Number 4 was Seduce (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 3), Number 6 was Prophecy: Caelestis & Aurorea(Vampires Realm romance series book 2), Number 9 was Covet (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 1), and Number 10 was Her Dark Angel (Her Angel romance series book 1). Crave (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 2) would be higher than Seduce, but Apple shoved it into erotic romance… still, 5 spots out of 10? Yay.
A lovely email dropped into my inbox this week announcing that I had been chosen as the GraveTells Author of the Year 2012 in their end of year awards. I was also nominated in several categories in their readers choice awards, but didn’t manage to snag any of the top spots as I was snowed under with, well, Snow oddly enough. Work on Unleash and Bewitch kept me rushed off my feet during the period that voting was open. Still, my disappointment was completely obliterated when I received the email and the wonderful graphic declaring me the author the website had chosen based on merit rather than votes!
Here’s the shiny graphic that I will now proudly display here on my website somewhere!
If you click on the image, or the blog name above, it will take you to the page where they show all the winners they chose in the different categories, as well as say some rather lovely things about me. I’m really chuffed about this!
I also received notification that Her Demonic Angel (Her Angel romance series book 5) was selected as one of the Favourite Reads of 2012 by Cocktails and Books! Iris had some wonderful stuff to say about the book in the post on their blog.
Her Demonic Angel

Erin is convinced her refusal to do the Devil’s bidding will see her die in a terrifying realm straight out of her nightmares. The last thing she expects is the lethally sensual warrior who breaks into her cell and awakens the darkest desires of her heart and a fierce longing to know the heat of his caress.
Pulled into an incredible world where war is set to ignite and darkness is on the rise, Erin races with Veiron to escape the Devil’s legions in a journey fraught with danger and filled with passion that flares white-hot.
