Olivia thinks it’s her lucky night when a dangerously handsome unconscious fae ends up on her inspection table. He’s her chance to redeem herself with her employer, the demon-hunting organisation, Archangel. But when the tall, dark and deadly immortal warrior awakes, she gets much more than she bargained for…

Attacked by his enemy in the elf kingdom, the last thing Prince Loren expects when he comes around is a beautiful angel watching over him and medical technology of the mortal realm. Hazy from his injuries, all he can focus on is the pulse ticking in her throat and the sweet allure of her blood.

One single bite reveals she is his eternal mate, triggering a bond between them that will leave him weakened until it is completed… or broken, and pulling Olivia into the crossfire of his ancient feud.

To protect his people and his mate from the machinations of a madman, Loren must risk everything by working with Olivia at Archangel to find a way to break the bond blossoming between them.

But will Loren be strong enough to place duty before desire and give up the one thing he has waited millennia for and craves above all others—his eternal mate? And will Olivia be able to resist the incredible heat that burns between them and the temptation of her dark prince’s kiss?

Happy New Year – What paranormal romance hotness do I have for you in 2014?

As you can see, the subject of today’s post is all about the paranormal romance hotness I have in store for you in 2014. I’m also going to update those frequently asked questions I get from readers about my series and books so you all know what’s happening. I like to keep you in the loop.

But first, what do you have to look forward to in 2014? All of my release dates are tentative and subject to change. If the muse cooperates and life doesn’t throw curveballs at me, I should be able to stick to these release dates…

Claimed by a Demon King (Eternal Mates #2) – 22nd February 2014

Hunger (Vampires Realm #8) – 10th May 2014

Ares (Guardians of Hades #1) – 26th July 2014

Nevar’s book (Her Angel #7) – 27th September 2014

Vail’s book (Eternal Mates #3) – 29th November 2014

I hope that has elicited a few excited squeals from the crowd. Each of these books will be a full length novel. I will probably kick off 2015 with the second book in the Guardians of Hades series.

Now, as for the questions…

Will Nevar’s book be the final one in the Her Angel series?

No, and yes. It is the final book in this current sweeping arc that is running through the series. I will be writing more stories in the Her Angel world though, and that series will be called Angels of the Apocalypse. I have tentative plans for 4 or 5 novels in that series. It will either be dual-labelled (i.e. Her Angel #8 / Angels of the Apocalypse #1) or just listed as Angels of the Apocalypse. It will still be tagged with the Her Angel label on my blog though.

You can keep up to date with my progress on the series here at my blog by viewing posts with the Her Angel tag: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/blog/category/romance-series/her-angel-series/

Will there be more books in the Vampire Erotic Theatre series?

No. The series is complete at six books. However, you will catch up with the members of the Vampirerotique family in some of the Eternal Mates series books. There’s a sneaky cameo in Kissed by a Dark Prince, but you’ll get to visit the theatre in Claimed by a Demon King.

You can keep up to date with my progress on the series here at my blog by viewing posts with the Eternal Mates tag: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/blog/category/romance-series/eternal-mates/

When the hell is Hyperion getting his damned book in the Vampires Realm series?

2015! Yes, that’s right. I will write Hyperion’s romance as the next book in the Vampires Realm series after Hunger. I expect to have it ready for release in 2015. After this book comes out, I will probably wrap up the Vampires Realm series to focus on more popular series.

You can keep up to date with my progress on the series here at my blog by viewing posts with the Vampires Realm tag: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/blog/category/romance-series/vampires-realm/

Excited about my releases in 2014? Do you have any other questions? Feel free to ask them in the comments and I’ll answer them!

Happy New Year – Looking back at 2013 – Four paranormal romance novels, a USA Today best-seller, and a milestone of 500000 books sold

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I hope that you had a wonderful 2013 and a fantastic start to 2014.

I can’t believe that it’s already another year. Where did 2013 go? It seemed to fly by for me and now I’m sitting here pondering what I did in 2013.

I released four novels, which for me is lower than my normal output but some of those novels were long and hard work! I wrapped up the Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series with Bewitch in January and then Unleash in May. I took a trip to Hell and into the world of Asmodeus in Her Wicked Angel, the sixth book in the Her Angel romance series. And, I returned to the world of the Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series in the first novel in the Eternal Mates romance series, Kissed by a Dark Prince.

I became a USA Today best-seller thanks to my amazing readers and five awesome writers: Caris Roane, Laurie London, Jennifer Ashley, Erin Kellison and Bonnie Vanak. Our sales of the Dark and Dangerous Boxed Set of 6 Hot Paranormal Romance Books were astounding and it was a thrill-ride to say the least. Achieving that USA Today best-seller status was mind-blowing and something I really hope to recreate in 2014.

I also reached a milestone with my books. Around two weeks ago, I realised that I had sold over 500,000 copies of my English language paranormal romance books since January 1st 2011. 500,000 books in three years is wonderful for any author and I am flabbergasted that I managed to hit that milestone so quickly. Again, it’s all thanks to you, my readers. I can’t do this without your support, your kind words, and your voracious appetites for sexy, action-packed paranormal romance books! In top of the 500,000 ebooks sold, I’ve also given away around 500,000 ebooks in my often occuring rampages of giving books away to repay my readers for being so wonderful.

I’m not sure what 2014 has in store for me, but I do know it includes five new releases, and hopefully as many wonderful experiences as I have had this year!

As a thank you, I’m offering eight of my books at a discount right now (starting at $0.99 / 99p) and four for free. You can find all the details and links at: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/paranormal-romance-ebook-offers.php

Did you have a fabulous 2013, and what are your plans for 2014?

Teaseday – Kissed by a Dark Prince (Eternal Mates Romance Series Book 1) – Paranormal Romance Novel Excerpt

Today’s tease is another one from the book Kissed by a Dark Prince, which is the first novel in my new series, Eternal Mates. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease…

Kissed by a Dark Prince - paranormal romance Book

Loren padded silently across the dark stone floor to the elegant wardrobes lining the wall of his bedroom, drying his hair at the same time. All eight doors were black wood decorated with a beautiful inlay made of precious stones and shells, depicting dragons and his kind, living in harmony with all the kingdoms. Life had been like that once, thousands of years ago. Now, many of the demon kingdoms wanted him dead, blaming him and his people for his brother’s ruthless attacks on their villages.

Only the first and second demon kingdoms kept the other five from razing his lands and murdering his people. He had signed a peace treaty with them a thousand years ago. The kingdoms didn’t tolerate any individual demon from outside their realm passing through it without permission, let alone an army.

He took a pair of black tight trousers from the stack and slipped them on, fastening them over his hips, and then jammed his bare feet into his black leather riding boots.

His markings flared, a hot shivery feeling that always made him tense. They had done that too often since he had taken blood from the female, unsettling him.

It wasn’t the only anomaly.

He wasn’t healing as quickly as he should have either. It had been two days. His wounds should be gone by now, but they lingered, and he felt weaker than usual. His brother’s attack had been severe, but he had taken blood from the female and had drunk stored blood since returning to his world. He had eaten too, devouring the plates of nourishing vegetables and fruits that Bleu had pressed him to consume even when he hadn’t felt hungry. He should have healed by yesterday.

Perhaps he needed more blood.

Loren raked his fingers through his damp black hair and crossed the expansive bedroom. Daylight flowed in through the tall arched windows lining the wall to his right, where his bed was. Someone had been in while he had been resting and opened the twin arched doors that led onto his balcony. A breeze swept in through them, tousling the sheer blue curtains, carrying the scent of flowers.

He stopped at the long black low cabinet that lined the shorter side of his bedroom and opened one of the doors. Someone had topped up the icebox too. The small triangular metal containers of blood in the dark stone box smelled faintly of Bleu. Loren smiled to himself and took one of the canisters out.

Bleu had been livid with him when he had come to take him from the female doctor’s laboratory. Loren had received more than an earful. Bleu had practically scolded him, sounding much like the mother Loren had lost almost five thousand years ago.

His second in command had never learned how to express his feelings. Whenever he was concerned, it came out as angry. Loren appreciated his friend’s concern though, and that he had managed to track him to the mortal world before the humans had, well, he still wasn’t sure what their intention had been.

Studying him.

The female had said she desired to study him.

She had desired to help him.

Loren groaned at the memory of what he had done after that. He had bitten her. He had felt weak and shaky, on the verge of passing out from the pain of his injuries. It had been instinct. She had smelled divine and had been so close to him, so warm and beautiful. He hadn’t been able to stop himself.

He pulled the cap off the canister and swiftly gulped the contents down. He closed the cabinet door and set the empty canister down on the top, and walked across the room, passing his bed and heading for the double doors beyond them that stretched twenty feet high. The light blue fabric caressed his bare torso as he moved through the curtains. The blood would kick in soon and then he would feel better.

His stomach cramped, pain vibrating through his body. He shot a hand out and grasped the door to his left, clutching it for support. Something was wrong. He should be growing stronger but he felt as though he was getting weaker.

Loren’s eyes shot wide and he held his stomach, fighting a wave of nausea.

Cold fingers danced down his spine, chilling his blood in his veins.

The female was more than a source of sustenance. She was different. Not just a normal human. Did she know it? Did Vail?

Loren had a terrible feeling that his brother knew.

Ki’ara.

His knees weakened. She couldn’t be. It wasn’t possible that the human doctor was his fated female. His ki’ara.

Loren growled, his frustration getting the better of him. He had wanted to find his ki’ara for almost fifty centuries but he didn’t need this now and he certainly didn’t need her to be a member of some sort of demon-hunting organisation.

Icy claws drifted down his back again and curled around his heart.

He feared that it wasn’t fate that had brought him together with his eternal mate now.

It was his brother.

He needed to know exactly what had happened the night he had met her.

Loren pushed away from the door and stumbled across the room, aiming for the bed. He had to be careful though. If he was right, and he had bonded the female to him, returning to her might not be a wise move.

Bonded males could become extremely aggressive and dangerous in the presence of their female.

Vail was proof of that.

The completed bond with the dark witch had changed him and Loren felt certain that it was responsible for his brother’s madness and thirst for violence. If he had taken the first step in binding himself to the female doctor, he couldn’t afford to let it change him as it had changed his younger brother. He could never complete it, no matter how long he had waited for his ki’ara. The fate of his people rested on his shoulders.

He needed to find a way to shatter the fragile bond.

If she was his ki’ara.

There was one way of finding out.

If she were, he would be able to use the bond between them to locate her. His knees hit the mattress and he collapsed on his front and rolled onto his back.

Loren closed his eyes and focused, turning his thoughts inwards, towards the female and her blood. He found a slender thread of her within him and held on to it, using his psychic abilities to enhance it, until it grew into a thicker ribbon of colours that swirled like his markings, iridescent and beautiful. His breathing grew laboured, the strength it took to use his abilities weakening him further. A room shimmered into focus in his mind, a place with cream walls and soft brown furniture, and technology he had never seen before.

The female walked into view, dressed in her long white coat and dark tight trousers beneath them, her chestnut hair twirled into a knot at the back of her head.

Loren stood and willed his personal portal to appear. Violet and blue light chased over his body, outlining it, and he commanded it to take him to the female.

He appeared behind her in her small apartment. He had been to this building before. It smelled familiar. She lived in the place where she worked.

He had wanted to speak with her here, where familiar things would surround her and she wouldn’t feel threatened, but he couldn’t risk her raising the alarm.

Loren grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth with his hand. She instantly began wriggling in his arms, rubbing her backside against his groin, reigniting the desire he had barely managed to leash back in his bathing room. He ground his teeth together and caged her against his body, and willed himself to return to the portal in his room.

The moment his rooms appeared around him, he released her and she turned on her heel and smashed her fist into his mouth.

Loren stumbled and fell on his backside, the impact with the cold stone jarring his spine.

His female stood over him, a fiery glow in her dark eyes, her lips compressed into a thin line of fury.

She was beautiful.

But she could never be his.

No matter how long he had waited for her, had dreamed of having his ki’ara, he had to do the right thing for a change. He had to place his people first and he had to defeat his brother.

There was only one way he would be strong enough to battle and kill Vail.

He looked up at the female towering over him, his heart beating in synchronisation with hers, his body weakened by their incomplete connection.

He had to find a way to break their bond and let her go.

He had to sacrifice his dreams.

Covet - paranormal vampire romance Book

The human women sat down on the two red leather couches positioned in the middle of the stage, one on each. Crimson spotlights bathed them, making them look as though blood covered their skin. In perfect synchronisation, the broad bare male vampires crouched before their woman, lifted the opposite leg to each other and started to kiss along it from ankle to knee.

It wasn’t turning her on.

Lilah told herself it a thousand times over but the sight of the vampire couple fornicating at the front of the stage and the forced seduction happening behind them had her heart pounding and her nipples hardening against the tight top of her uniform dress.

“I need to question you about Victor.” Javier’s deep accented voice coming from behind her caused her to drop her broom and turn.

She panted hard, startled and trying to get her arousal under control so he wouldn’t sense it.

His dark brown gaze slid to the stage and then back to her.

Lilah quickly bent to pick up her broom. When she straightened, Javier’s eyes were on her dress, his pupils wide in the low light coming up from below. The moans on stage grew louder and she tried to ignore them and push the images of the couples out of her mind.

“Why did you hit Victor?” Javier said, more composed than she was. Didn’t the show affect him at all? He had crossed the theatre without pausing to watch and his eyes were fixed on her now. She had heard that he and his partners had been running the theatre for almost a century. He had probably grown immune to whatever was playing out on the stage.

“Because he was hurting Nia.” It came out blunter than she had intended and she added, “Sir.”

Javier’s eyebrow rose. “Victor said you had no grounds to strike him.”

“Then he’s a liar and a bastard.”

“He’s an elite.” The darkness in his tone was reprimand enough to Lilah. She bowed her head.

“My apologies.” She couldn’t bring herself to look at Javier so she glanced to one side when she brought her head back up. It was a mistake. The act on stage was getting hotter, with the two humans now kneeling on the couches and swallowing the rigid cocks of their partners as they stood before them. She ripped her gaze away and closed her eyes, figuring it was safer. That way she didn’t risk seeing the anger in Javier’s eyes or the debauchery on stage, and she could keep a clear head. “He was forcing himself on Nia and she told him to stop. When he didn’t, I hit him. I thought he might stop and block me.”

“He said Nia was cut. He was under the influence of his hunger. That is why he didn’t stop.”

That made sense. “Nia cut her hand on some glass. A mirror in the main dressing room had broken. We had to clean it up and she cut herself.”

He muttered a ripe curse in Spanish and stepped towards her. “Were you cut?”

Lilah opened her eyes, looked up into the dark pools of his, and shook her head. “No.”

The relief that swamped his eyes surprised her and sent fear into her blood. What if she had been the one to cut herself? Would Victor have tried to touch her and taste her instead? Would Nia have tried to stop him or would she have let him hurt her?

“You must be more careful around our kind,” Javier said and she nodded slowly, unable to take her eyes off his.

The moans from the stage grew louder and she blushed when Javier looked towards the performance.

“Will I be punished?” She tried to shut out the sounds. Javier’s gaze returned to her and he shook his head.

“Victor overstepped the line.” He frowned and turned quiet for so long that she couldn’t ignore the noises coming from the stage. She glanced across at them. Javier’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Do you like to watch them?”

Her eyes shot wide and she instantly shook her head. He stepped closer, slid his hand over her jaw in a way that had her shivering and her breath quaking, and carefully turned her face towards the stage. His thumb and fingers remained against her face, holding her gently, warming her down to her bones and causing a flood of arousal to sweep through her.

He traced his hand down her throat and stepped up behind her. What was he doing? She trembled under his touch, anticipating pain from it but feeling nothing but pleasure.

“Does it arouse you when you watch them fucking?” he breathed into her ear and she shivered, her eyelids dropping, a ripple of shock running over her skin at hearing him say such a thing.

“I don’t watch them,” she whispered, her voice barely there.

“You were watching them when I arrived.” He ran his thumb up her throat and claimed her jaw again. How long had he been watching her before he had said something and torn her attention away from the show? Had he enjoyed watching her while she watched the performance, unaware of his presence and his eyes on her? The thought that he might have sent heat into her blood that pooled in her abdomen, tightening it with arousal.

She couldn’t take her eyes off the show now but she wasn’t taking any of it in. All of her focus was on Javier where he stood behind her, so close that his hip was against her bottom. Why was he doing this? Why wasn’t it hurting her? Was there no pleasure in his touch, no sense of desire inside him as he ran his hands over her throat and pressed his body close to hers?

Lilah sharply turned her head towards him. He was so close to her that his breath skated over her lips, her chin touching his cheek. The darkness of desire in his eyes was unmistakable. There was hunger in his touch, in the way he forced her to face the stage again, clutching her jaw and lowering his mouth to her throat.

He drew in a long shaky breath and pressed his brow against the side of her head. “You smell so good… such a temptation.”

He wanted her. Her knees weakened beneath her, legs going slack at the feel of him pressed against her back, his hands firm on her body.

Lilah’s breathing quickened and she stared at the three couples on stage, her heart racing and blood thundering. Javier reached around her and slid his hand over hers where it gripped the pole of the broom. He took it from her and let it fall to the ground as he pressed soft kisses to her bare shoulder and the nape of her neck. They tickled, sending shiver after shiver through her, dizzying her.

This was so wrong.

But that only made it feel more right.

She had wanted him for so long, had craved the feel of his hands on her body, ached to know what it would feel like to be with him. She had never thought it possible though, had thought her bond to Lord Ashville would prevent it and pain her if she accepted the touch of the man she desired with all of her heart.

Javier licked the nape of her neck near her hairline, teasing her, and she couldn’t stop herself from arching her backside into him. He groaned and cursed softly in her ear, kissing it and nibbling it with blunt teeth.

“Watch them,” he whispered into her ear and licked the lobe, teasing it with the tip of his tongue. “Keep watching them while I touch you.”

She nodded and bit back a groan when he slid his hands down over her stomach and then around to her backside, palming it through her short dress. He suckled the lobe of her ear and then kissed her throat and ran his hands up her sides, pressing them in hard as he passed over her ribs. He cupped her breasts and stepped into her. The feel of his erection against her bottom sent a new hot flood of arousal pooling between her thighs. Was this really happening? She felt as though she was imagining it, as though it was a fevered fantasy brought on by watching the show and seeing him crossing the theatre towards her. It didn’t feel real.

“You cannot deny me this,” he uttered into her ear and she trembled at the command in his tone, the hunger that roughened it. “I will have you.”

They’ve burned for each other for two years, the forbidden attraction between them growing each night. Now resisting the sinful desires of their hearts is becoming impossible.

Javier knows better than to succumb to his hunger for Lilah. The mortal female belongs to a powerful aristocrat patron of Vampirerotique, the theatre he runs with three other vampires. A single touch is all it would take to break the sacred law of his kind, sentencing himself to death, but his passion for her has become too fierce to ignore and he will risk everything to make Lilah his.

Lilah has fought her desire for Javier since arriving at his theatre as a servant but each glance he has stolen, his eyes promising pleasure that will satisfy her longing for him, has chipped away at her defences and she can no longer deny her need and her forbidden feelings for the powerful vampire male.

When they find themselves alone in a private box during one of the erotic performances, will they surrender to their passion and live out their wildest fantasies in a night of wicked pleasure or will the threat of Lilah’s master keep them apart forever?

Teaseday – Vampire for Christmas – Excerpt from my FREE Vampire Romance Novella

Today’s tease comes from the book Vampire for Christmas, which is one of my stand alone vampire romance novellas and perfect for the holiday season!

VAMPIRE FOR CHRISTMAS is free on Amazon Kindle, Kobo Books, Nook and Apple iBooks

Vampire for Christmas - paranormal vampire romance Book

There was a knock at the door. Shannon knew from the impatient clip it had who would be waiting on the porch, and she took her time because of it. It wouldn’t look good if she rushed to answer it. The last time she had opened the door within a minute, because she had been passing it at the time, Rafe had teased her the whole night about how she had been waiting for him on the other side, desperate to go out with him again, and how attracted to him she was.

Total crap of course.

She wouldn’t be attracted to him if he was the last man on Earth. Shannon smiled to herself. He wasn’t even a man. She would have to be down to the last vampire too before she would ever consider him in that way.

Shannon slipped a stake into the inside pocket of her thick black wool jacket and another into the back pocket of her dark jeans. It was always a good idea to be well armed when out on a hunt. She wasn’t about to let the holiday season lure her into a false sense of security. Wretched demonkind didn’t celebrate the occasion, and some of her busiest times had been over the Christmas period. Besides, the stakes weren’t just for use on the bad vampires. Sometimes she considered using them on the apparently good vampires too.

Shannon opened the door.

Rafe stood on the other side, six feet plus of dark handsome devil perfectly capable of pushing every right button in a woman.

At least, every woman except her.

The left side of his sensual mouth tugged into a half smile that revealed the tip of a canine and his deep brown eyes slid up towards the porch ceiling. Her eyes followed out of curiosity.

Mistletoe.

Her gaze snapped back to him. He had to be kidding. He stared at her, dark eyes locked on hers in a silent challenge, and rocked expectantly on his heels. He clasped his hands behind his bottom, the action dragging his long black coat back too, revealing the athletic physique that his dark shirt failed to hide.

Shannon stepped backwards into the safety of her house.

Rafe frowned.

She could almost hear what he was thinking, could read it in his eyes. She didn’t care if he thought she was rude because she had never invited him into her home. She had neglected to do so for good reason. It was handy at times like these when he was making her heart jitter and pulse race.

She was not going to kiss him.

There were a million reasons why, but she settled on the safety aspect because her heart couldn’t overrule that one.

If she abided by tradition and kissed him, she would be placing herself firmly within his grasp, and that was a place she didn’t want to be. What would start as a harmless festive kiss would end as a bloodbath with his fangs in her throat. Just the thought of it happening shook her deep inside, dredging up memories best left forgotten and pain she had fought to erase. She would never let anything like that happen again.

Never.

Rafe continued to stare, his dark gaze cool but demanding.

Sometimes, Shannon wished the agency hadn’t paired them together. She had never wanted to work with one of nature’s freaks. She just wanted to kill them and get revenge for what they had done to her and her family.

“Never going to happen.” Shannon pushed past him, slammed the door behind her, and locked it. She didn’t break her stride. Before he could respond, she was at the end of her garden path and walking towards the centre of town.

She didn’t hear him move. One moment he wasn’t there, and the next he was keeping pace beside her.  Her heart leapt at his sudden appearance.

“I told you not to do that.” She drew her hand away from her back pocket. It had jumped to the stake on instinct. One of these days, he was going to surprise her and she was going to give him a nasty surprise of her own.

“No need for that.” He appeared on the other side of her, his hand slipping over hers and easing it away from the stake. He smiled at her, his cool fingers lingering against hers. “There is a no staking your partner policy at the agency, remember?”

Shannon snatched her hand back and wished she didn’t remember. It was the only thing stopping her from killing him. A quiet voice at the back of her mind whispered that it wasn’t the only reason she couldn’t bring herself to stake him. She shooed it away.

“So, where are we heading?” Rafe’s deep voice swept around her, bathing her in warmth she tried to deny, and she kept her gaze fixed ahead. If she pretended he wasn’t there, she might just make it through the next few hours, and then she was home free. It was one last mission.

For some reason, that caused a dull ache to settle inside her.

She had thought she would be happy. She should be happy. No more working with the enemy. They were reassigning her to warmer climes and a partner-free role. She had proven herself worthy of working alone, just as she had wanted from the start of her career with the agency, and she was finally getting that wish.

So why wasn’t she happy?

“Town,” Shannon said distractedly, frowning at the pavement and trying to piece together an answer to her own question. There had to be a reason and it couldn’t be the vampire walking beside her. She had grown used to him. That’s all it was. He had become a sort of friend. The only person she actually spoke to apart from her handler and a few people at the agency, and she had never told them a thing about herself. She had never talked them, not as she had to Rafe. Shannon cursed herself. She should have kept her distance and not gotten involved, just as she had planned, but two years was too long to work with someone without saying anything to them.

Rafe had slipped in unnoticed, had passed the first of her defences and somehow got her talking one night, and since then, she couldn’t stop her mouth sometimes. Sometimes it all became too much and she had to speak to someone, and he was always there, willing to listen to her silly troubles and doubts about her ability to hunt, her skill, and her future with the agency.

And he always reassured her, and made her feel better.

“Anywhere particular in town?” Rafe said and her attention snapped back to him. She stared up at him, still half lost in her thoughts, and found herself looking straight into his eyes. Windows to the soul. Rafe’s hid nothing from her. They betrayed everything that he was feeling, and sometimes it frightened her.

Not when he was showing his vampire side. His pale eyes didn’t scare her or the malice that she saw in them, the hunger for violence and bloodshed. It was this side of him that scared her. The gentle side. The one who looked at her with warmth and undeniable affection.

“Are you feeling alright?” He cocked his head to one side, his gaze holding hers, sparkling with tender concern.

Shannon forced her eyes down to the pavement and studied the cracks as she walked, unable to bring her voice above a whisper.

“I’m fine.”

There was a long pause, full of expectation and unspoken things.

Sometimes, when this feeling washed over her, she had a sense that he wanted to say something to her. He never had though, and she often found herself wondering what it was he couldn’t put a voice to.

“So, where are we going? Into town, or beyond town… perhaps you called me all the way out here on a freezing cold night just to make me go gift shopping with you. If that is the case, I have to say it is in poor taste, as I am a vampire… I do not celebrate Christmas as you do.”

“I don’t.” Shannon wished she could take those two words back. They were going to cause questions that she didn’t want to answer. She glanced at Rafe, briefly making eye contact, and then looked away to her right, her gaze eating the streetlamp lit grass and shrubs that she walked past. He sighed but said nothing. She waited a moment longer, afraid that he might just be building up to it, and then released the breath she had been holding. “The report states that there was a demon sighting in the local cemetery just outside the town centre.”

“Cemetery?” Rafe sounded positively disgusted.

She glanced at him again. He looked it too. He seemed to take it as a personal affront whenever they had to hunt demons in places like old churches, cemeteries and disused factories.

“Some demons have no taste.”

Shannon smiled. “Speak for yourself.”

He frowned at her but it didn’t stick. It melted into a smile that threatened to steal her breath and she averted her gaze again. What was she doing? Her heart skittered about in her throat and she knew he would be listening to it, and he would know that he was affecting her. She could do this.

It was just one more mission.

And then she would be able to escape these feelings.

She was not going to fall for him.

He was a vampire. She was a hunter.

Her gaze snuck back to him, studying his noble profile, and her heart thudded hard against her chest.

There was no love more forbidden than this.

Felicity Heaton

It was one last mission. Shannon, a demon hunter with the agency, is looking forward to leaving behind the small town and the vampire she’s been stuck with for the past two years. Things are getting complicated fast and she wants out. A fresh start, free of her vampire partner, awaits her if she can survive their final mission and the lonely Christmas holidays.

It was one last mission. Rafe, a vampire doing time with the agency, watches it approach with dread weighing heavily in his stomach. Two years of working with Shannon has been difficult, especially since he started falling for her, but he doesn’t want their partnership to end. He has barely a few days to make her face her feelings and stop her from leaving, and he intends to do just that.

When a slimy demon threatens the season of peace and goodwill, it’s the chance Rafe has been waiting for and the moment Shannon secretly fears. Rafe’s determination to prise open her heart and her own resolve to keep it closed clash as violently as they do with the demon, and threatens to end as messily.

Can Rafe make Shannon see that his love for her is real and that she feels something for him too? Can Shannon face her fears and her past, and stop herself from running away from both? Will a wish on a star bring her what her heart truly desires—a vampire for Christmas?

Her Dark Angel - paranormal angel romance Book

He was still a moment, as though she had shocked him, and then he turned and kissed her.

It felt better than she had imagined it would. His lips crushed hers in a passionate kiss, their tongues tangling, and she lost herself in the hard demanding feel of it. His mouth was warm, inviting, and she didn’t pause to think. She kissed him back, sliding her hands over his shoulders as his claimed her waist, and she moaned as ripples of pleasure ran through her. His tongue delved into her mouth again, stealing her breath away, and he moved on the bed, kneeling and leaning into her. She relaxed back into the pillows and his chest pressed against hers, the feel of him divine and delicious.

He groaned, a low guttural sound that sent a tremble through her, and her eyes slipped shut. When he broke for air, sense got the better of her and she considered what she was doing.

She was kissing an angel.

“Wait.” She pressed her hands against his chest.

“No,” he breathed and kissed her again, sweeping his tongue across her lips and teasing her. “I do not want to stop.”

Serenity caved for a moment, melting under the feel of his hands gliding up her sides, lifting her satin slip with them, heading towards her breasts. Reality kicked in again when they neared her chest and she pushed harder against his.

“Stop.”

Apollyon pulled back, leaning over her, his warm breath washing her face.

“Is something wrong?” His blue eyes questioned hers.

“What are you doing?”

He frowned. “Exactly what I want to do for once.”

He dipped his head to kiss her again and she almost relented. Almost. She braced her hands against his chest and leaned back so he couldn’t reach her.

“You want this,” he whispered and stroked her sides, getting closer to her breasts. She shivered, tiny jolts of bliss skittering across her skin. He was right, she did want it, but she just couldn’t get past the fact that he was an angel.

“Won’t you get into trouble?” She searched his eyes. “I don’t want to get you into trouble.”

He smiled and her resistance melted a little. “I won’t. You drive me crazy. I need you, Serenity. Being close to you tonight, seeing you laughing, smiling, happy because of me… I want to make you feel that way again, and I know you want it too. Somewhere along the line tonight, it stopped being an act for me. It became real.”

He smoothed her hair across the dark pink pillow, his eyes warm and honest, backing up his words. He wasn’t lying, and she couldn’t deny her attraction to him and the way he made her feel.

“Is it the same for you?” He looked hopeful.

Serenity didn’t hesitate. She nodded. “It is… I just… with the wings gone it’s so much easier to fool myself, but I know that you’re an angel… it—”

Apollyon pressed a lone finger to her lips. “Forget everything everyone ever told you about us. We can be with mortals and we are free to do as we please. Besides, you are my master right now. Whatever you want of me, you will have, but resisting you is becoming impossible.”

She felt the same way. She had tried her hardest but she didn’t want to resist him now. She wanted to give herself to him, and to fulfil the deep craving to have his body on hers, to drown in his kisses and lose herself in the moment.

Apollyon had made her happy tonight. She had felt as though Edward had never happened and that being in Apollyon’s arms was enough to bring a smile back to her face. He had made her laugh for the first time in weeks.

But none of that erased the fear in her heart that he was going to disappear when he’d had his vengeance and she would be alone again.

She shut out the voices that warned her against going through with it and ran her hands over Apollyon’s strong shoulders, caressing his bronzed skin and feeling his warmth.

“Where did the wings go?”

“Away.” He looked at her left hand where it stroked his right shoulder and then back into her eyes. “I can keep them like this if I concentrate, but it only works for a short time. It was uncomfortable to sleep on them. Would you like me to bring them back?”

“Not right now.” Serenity ran her hands up his neck to his jaw and stroked the square line of it, her gaze drifting over his face and putting it to memory. She would never forget it, and she wasn’t likely to find a man as handsome as him again. “Right now, I like you just the way you are.”

“Naked?” he said and she couldn’t help smiling at his innocent expression.

“Naked,” she whispered, not needing to look to know that what little he had been wearing was now gone. She slid her hand around the nape of his neck and drew him down to her. With a wicked smile, she clicked her fingers, making her satin slip disappear and leaving her naked beneath the dark covers.

Apollyon groaned, his gaze running over her chest with blatant desire even though her nipples were still hidden. What would he look like when she was naked before him? She couldn’t wait to find out.

She pressed her lips to his and he immediately tilted his head and fused their mouths in another hungry kiss. She let go this time, not thinking about tomorrow, only thinking about now and how good it felt to be in Apollyon’s arms.

She wouldn’t give this up for anything.

If he was brave enough to take what he wanted, then she would too. She would live with the consequences and pay whatever price she had to in order to have this moment with him.

His tongue brushed hers and she moaned and clutched his shoulder, drawing him closer until his chest was covering hers again, his hands caressing her upper arms.  His mouth left hers and he pressed long kisses down her jaw and her neck. She reached up above her head and closed her eyes when he kissed over her collarbone and then down her chest. Her breath left her in a sigh and she smiled, twisting her hair around her fingers.

“You taste good,” Apollyon murmured against her skin and she looked at him, meeting his gaze. He drew the dark covers down, revealing the swell of her breasts, and his eyes left hers. He moaned, the sound of it making her shiver with anticipation, and lowered his head to her right breast. He kissed and licked her nipple, sending sparks shooting outwards from its centre and rekindling the embers of the fire he’d lit in her when they had danced. She couldn’t take her eyes off him, off the way he was slowly worshipping her breast. His thumb grazed the underside of her other one and his fingers curled around to cup it. He moved across to it, swirling his tongue around the dusky peak and sending another shower of sparks across her skin. “So good.”

Serenity arched against him, pressing her nipple into his mouth, and he groaned and sucked it. Her groin throbbed, hot with need, aching to have his attention. He thumbed her other nipple, teasing it so it remained aroused and making her burn for him.

She wanted to touch him too, to kiss him and taste his skin. She wanted to lick every inch of him until he moaned her name and begged for more.

She ran her hands over his biceps, delighting in tracing the lines of his strong muscles. Just the sight of him made her hot and bothered, but the feel of him took her beyond that, filling her with a desperate urge to push him onto his back and make love to him.

Not quite make love.

What was going around her head at ten positions a second was definitely raw and animalistic, a hard coupling that would leave her knees weak and make every part of her tremble.

She moaned at the thought and the feel of Apollyon at her breasts, taking her out of her mind with his constant torture of her nipples. Her breasts were tight, aching from the feel of his attention, and she raked her nails down his arms when he sucked harder and thrust her chest up. He slid a hand beneath her and held her to him, groaning. She wanted more.

Serenity pushed at the covers, needing to feel his hot body against the whole of hers, wanting his delicious weight on her.

Wanting to be at his mercy.

Apollyon stepped off the bed and her gaze was immediately on him, shamelessly drinking her fill of his body. He whipped the covers off her and stood there, long hard cock twitching and bobbing, his gaze hungry and dark.

Serenity rubbed her thighs together, drawing his attention there, wanting to feel it on her and see the passion in his eyes when he looked. There was so much desire in his expression. It made her feel powerful, sexy, and brave.

Apollyon groaned when she ran her hands over her breasts, teasing her own nipples, and then frowned when she skimmed them down her sides and dipped them in at the apex of her thighs, touching her pussy.

“Devil,” he whispered and walked around the bed, his gaze never leaving her. His chest heaved, muscles straining and taut. He looked incredible. She didn’t stop. Each time she swept her hands over the curly triangle of fair hair at the apex of her thighs, he moaned and his cock bobbed.

Serenity licked her lips. She wanted to taste that too. She wanted to wrap her lips around every hard inch of him and take him deep into her mouth, and suck him until he was crying her name to the heavens and clutching her to him.

Apollyon frowned when she got onto her knees and crawled towards him where he stood at the foot of the bed.

She kneeled before him and held his dark gaze as she lightly wrapped her fingers around his hard length. His eyelids slipped to half-mast when she moved her hand down, exposing the crown of his cock, and he shuddered.

“How long has it been since you’ve had a woman?” she whispered up at him, intent on getting answers while he was at her mercy. She wanted to hear him say it again, to know that he was telling the truth.

“Too long,” he muttered and then opened his eyes and looked at her when she didn’t continue. “Many centuries. I would not lie to you, Serenity. I have been in Hell for millennia and the only woman I have truly looked at in that time is you.”

Her heart gave a hard beat against her chest.

Right answer.

Serenity returned her gaze to his hard length and ran her hand down it again, drawing another breathy moan from Apollyon.

She leaned forwards and he gasped when she licked the head of his cock. His hands were instantly on her shoulders, his grip tight and bordering on painful. She didn’t stop. She ran her tongue around the crown and tasted him. Heat pooled at the apex of her thighs at the thought of him inside her, taking her, being with her. She wanted that. It was torture to wait but she would. She wanted to know him all over and then she wanted him to know her from the inside.

Apollyon groaned again when she wrapped her mouth around his cock and sucked him, moving back and forth, her eyes closed in concentration. He tangled one hand in her hair. She held his cock tightly with her right hand and flicked her tongue over the sensitive head, eliciting another deep moan from him. The tight feeling inside her increased with each moan that left his lips, the feeling of power increasing with them too and making her hunger rise. She sucked him harder, holding him still with her hand so he couldn’t thrust. He tried, desperate short movements accompanied by rumbling groans. She was in control now.

Or so she thought.

Vampires Realm romance series books now listed as Felicity Heaton

As I have noticed a few readers are surprised when they hear that I also write the Vampires Realm series as F E Heaton, and that they were not aware of this series by me, I have decided to finally bring the Vampires Realm romance series into the Felicity Heaton fold.

The reason I originally wrote these books under a different name was because I had intended to write only stand alone books as Felicity Heaton and all my series as F E Heaton, but somehow that didn’t quite work out. I ended up writing only the Vampires Realm series as F E Heaton and everything else as Felicity!

I am now in the process of moving the books in the Vampires Realm series over to Felicity Heaton, and this change has already taken place at many retailers of the ebooks. I’m still working with Apple to migrate them to my main name, and I also need to move the paperbacks over too. I have wanted to make this move for the past year but just couldn’t find the time. Well, I decided to just do it and stop dilly-dallying.

I have also renumbered the entire series as it made more sense to keep the novels as the main numbers, and reduce the short stories and novellas to numbers between the main whole numbers. You’ll see that Spellbound is now book 3.1, Reunion is book 3.5, etc.
