Book on Following God’s Heart for the World Makes an Impact
I stand here in amazement, realizing how unbelievable it is that God chose to use someone like me to impact the world. The book I wrote more than thirty years ago, now has more than 4 million copies in print. This shocks me!
A Simple Book is Impacting the WorldRevolution in World Missions has impacted millions of people around the world. Just recently I was reminded that around 100 ministries were started as a result of reading my book.
As a shy, little boy in India, the Lord spoke to me an...

Gratitude is About Noticing the Simple Pleasures of Life
Life is full of so many blessings. The question is: Do we take time to notice and acknowledge them as we go about our daily lives, or do we take them for granted? Pause for a moment and imagine losing even a few of the things that often seem so “normal.” Suddenly you can’t walk. You can’t hear. Your car is stolen. Your family and friends are taken away. Your reputation and abilities are gone.
Now imagine, one by one, you get all those things back!
There is so much to be thankful for. If you t...

Beautiful Suffering?
Beautiful suffering!
It sounds like a contradiction.
The Word says if you choose to be His, then you will suffer: “For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake” (Philippians 1:29).
The purpose of God is that we may become partakers of His nature. Suffering is the means by which that happens. The result is the beauty of Christ being seen in us, this treasure in our earthen vessels, so that the excellence of the power may be...

The Kingdom of God is a Relational Kingdom
One of my all-time favorite books is The Calvary Road by Roy Hession. This book was written in the context of a group of missionaries working and experiencing a time of revival together. In the introduction of the book, Norman P. Grubb writes,
We [the group of missionaries] are beginning to learn, as a company of Christ’s witnesses, that the rivers of life to the world do not flow out in their fullness through one man, but through the body, the team. Our brokenness and openness must be two-wa...

You Be My Jesus
Sometime back, a friend shared with me some of his burdens. One after another he talked about discouragements and failures that seemed to have gotten the best of him. I listened prayerfully, asking the Lord to help me understand what he was going through. I sensed the Lord asking me if I would represent the compassionate, caring, restoring person of Jesus in my words to this man.
After listening for a long time, I shared my heart and laid my hands on him and prayed. Right after he left my roo...

When I Was Young
No matter how old we are or how many miles we’ve traveled, it can just take a scent or an old familiar meal and we are suddenly transported back home again to when we were small children. When I close my eyes, I can see my village like it was when I was young . . . so many memories.
Narrow winding paths
Golden paddy fields
Summer time
Harvest time.
Children
running naked
climbing trees
picking fruits
playing hide-and-seek
I too.
I remember
the way it was
in my village
when I was...

With Each Stroke by KP Yohannan
Have you ever watched an artist paint a picture at a street corner or in a park?
When the artist first takes his canvas, puts it on the easel, dips his brush into a color and begins to paint, he alone knows how the painting will look when it is completed. For me as a bystander, it’s a complete mystery. I may even wonder what on earth he is doing. But slowly the painting emerges—with each stroke of the brush. Finally, I stand amazed before a marvelous picture, and now that I can see the end re...

Life Is Beautiful When You Know Why
King Solomon’s journey into life began with an incredible, supernatural experience with the Almighty God who had chosen him to be king over His people Israel. Solomon was inexperienced and naïve, but he had a humble and tender heart.
In a childlike manner he said to God, “I don’t know what to do.” And God asked him, “What do you want?” Solomon could have requested all the things 99.9 percent of people ask for—riches, power and a long life—but he didn’t. Instead he said, “All I want is wisdom....

Creation
God
Eternity past
Time when there was no time
Stood on nothing
For there was nothing to stand on.
He spoke words
Words that only He knew what it meant.
“Let there be.”
Out of nothing
With nothing
All things came into being.
Sun
Moon
Oceans filled with fish
Trees and forests of birds, bees, insects.
All creatures.
All.
And God said,
“It is good.”
God.
Time began.
Everything existed.
His heart longed
For someone
To love.
He thought.
Talked to Himself:
“That’s it. Let’s do it.”
Stood on dust
Ben...

KP Yohannan: To Know God
This is a good day. I can’t believe I have the privilege to be a part of what the Lord is doing among thousands of precious people who are rejected and lonely and hurting. Every day I hear testimonies of how our brothers and sisters are serving these people in the name of Christ. I am grateful for this life I live.
Lately I’ve been thinking about Psalm 131:1–2 (NIV): “My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for m...
