I'm Back
I'm back home. The surgery was a success, which was a huge relief. He came through it with flying colors. Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts, prayers and positive energy that you sent our way.
While the surgery was going on, we took care of his sister and the critters. On one of our outings, this is what we saw:
Did anyone else see it? This picture really doesn't do it justice. It was like a chunk of the rainbow or a piece of a prism. I've never seen anything like it. Has anyone else?
We also took 'Ariel' Trick R Treating which was a hoot. The whole neighborhood was definitely in Halloween mode. It was like a big block party. There were many witches and goblins, standing on elaborately tricked out porches in the middle of spookily decorated yards, handing out candy. Trick or Treating Families abounded. One family was dressed as the Adams' Family. Someone had a Golden Retriever dressed as a lion with them. Everyone was enjoying themselves from babies to grandparents.
Pixabay. Not a neighborhood shot.
But enough about my corner of the world. What have you been doing, friends, while I've been gone?
A VERY belated
To Andrew
That's all folks.

Local Street Art and More
After commenting last week that I didn't see much street art in this area guess what I stumbled across:
Isn't this great? It's at the Yellow Deli in Hiddenite, NC and painted around an actual water wheel that's running. The food is both healthy and delicious. It is run by a co-operative society: The Yellow Deli People/Twelve Tribes of Israel and is open from Sunday at noon till Friday at three. Whether one is in agreement with their beliefs or not the food is good and the ambience is warm and inviting.
After lunch, a friend and I went hiking at Rocky Face Mountain Recreational Area, in Alexander County, another fun find. You can do moderate to strenuous trails or just do a simple walk at the base. The weather cooperated with us on our outing. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.
You can see the walking track below.
My walking buddy.
And...
Wishing you a Happy Halloween a day early. I'll be off line for a few days. My little grandson is having surgery tomorrow. Positive energy, good thoughts and prayers are appreciated. For those of you who have all ready sent good wishes or lit a candle, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Can't Fool Me
Kid's PlayhouseYou can't fool Franky. He knows a bird when he sees one. (Note the tail. It's not fluffed up that's the actual size and well over a foot long. It reminds me of a Vegas Showgirl's Feathers. Maybe because he swishes when he walks. He's very proud of it:)Did you have a great weekend, blogster buds?
