Does your child hate writing?

Does your child hate writing?

Then stop saying:

“Don’t jump.”
“Don’t run.”
“Don’t climb.”

Because jumping running and climbing build -

Core strength to sit up straight

Shoulder stability to hold the arm steady

Arm control to guide the pencil

Finger flexibility to shape the letters

Bilateral Coordination that helps in writing

Don’t STOP PLAY to START STUDYING

ENCOURAGE PLAY for ENTHUSIASTIC LEARNING

Type IMPORTANT

And share this reel so that those who scold your child for running jumping and Climbing understand that he is preparing his brain and body for writing

Many of us think that schools teach “useless things”.

Many of us think that schools teach “useless things”.
That is why children don’t learn. Because their brain receives inputs from us that tell them “That is useless”

But school learning is NOT useless.
It is just not CONTEXTUALISED

What is learnt in the classroom must be repeated in different environments. The home, the playground, the shopping mall and so on.

CONTEXTUAL REINFORCEMENT –
1, Makes useless things useful. What is useful is remembered.
2. It makes the child curious and encourages exploration
3. The child learns more words and improves their language skills
4. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills develop
5. There are opportunities to build empathy and learn collaboration
6. Learning becomes stress free

But for all this to happen parents need to know what is being taught in school.
They need to stop panicking about skills like reading, writing and math.
They need to recognise that the shift from rote learning to thinking routines builds the brain.

At this workshop at the EuroKids parent orientation I helped parents –
Understand -
How the brain is built.
How when the school teaches their child “How to think” instead of “What to think” they become independent learners
How they can use the concept of “Thinking routines” while parenting.
How "Project Zero" developed by the Harvard Graduate School of Education creates future ready brains as the school implements it.

A fun session filled with AHA moments and big smiles as parents made the journey from thinking the old way – to thinking the new way.

When parents are confident and convinced about the curriculum and pedagogy that their child’s school is using – they can partner with the school instead of protesting.

Communication is key and I am thrilled when I can use SCIENCE and STORYTELLING to help schools communicate the amazing things they are doing.

Do you feel convinced about what your child is learning is school? Or would like to know more? Do share.

How can you build your child’s brain to understand REASONS and LOGIC?

How can you build your child’s ability to understand what you say?

How can you build your child’s brain to understand REASONS and LOGIC?

The answer is by playing these 3 games that teach the brain Cause and Effect.

These games will also reduce TANTRUMS and help your child with reading and math

Type LOGIC And make your child smarter now.

This is parenting with neuroscience

This does not help the child.

Parenting needs to change when an early-learner starts going to school.
Most parents miss out on this.
Or when they do change their parenting - they just add on a few hours of extra teaching at home.
This does not help the child.
Not changing parenting or changing parenting in the wrong ways can make the child feel isolated and leave the parents feeling frustrated and exhausted.

When children begin school - their little brains are constantly bombarded with new inputs and also loaded with many new expectations.
It is an exciting time of rapid growth and it is important for parents to support that growth.

It is important for us to let go of the little one.
If we don’t – we slow down their growth by stifling their independence
But we can’t let go completely.
If we do – we slow down their growth by depriving them of the emotional scaffolding the require to learn effectively.

It is a tight rope walk.
Instinct is not enough – it is the time to gather neuroscience insight

In my “Parenting an Early Learner” workshop I provide just that.
• What does the rapidly growing brain REALLY need?
• What is the easiest way to give the brain what it needs to thrive?
• How to create a home environment that complements the classroom?
• How to work in tandem with the child’s teacher for effective learning?

I shared all this at the Parent Orientation Program of the @evolve_montessori yesterday. What a beautiful experience it was speaking to a rapt audience of dedicated parents and teachers!!

I have been conducting "Parenting an Early-learner" workshops for the past 12 years now at various schools and preschools.
The children of parents who attended my initial workshops are now on the verge of finishing school. And whenever I meet them - they tell me that attending my workshop had an immense positive impact on their schooling journey.

Is your child’s school conducting a “Parenting an early learner” session?
Please encourage them to do that.
Understanding the neuroscience of learning when you are parenting an early learner is invaluable.
