A Dog's Life
My books are going to the dogs! Traye Steele of Oklahoma City was at the May 11 signing to replace a book his dog, Winston, had eaten from his mother’s collection. His mom, Virginia Steele, is a cancer survivor. Lisa Pruitt of Bethany had me sign a book to her dog, Lola. It seems Lola has a taste for my books—so much so that she’s eaten two of them already! I couldn’t help but sign this book, “To Lola -- I hope you enjoy this one as much as the others!”

Weather Show
Oklahoma City pulled out all the stops for me yesterday and brought on the most fantastic display of weather. I was greeted with twisters and hail the size of softballs. Instead of an interview with KFOR-TV, First News at 4:30 p.m. , I got to see the weather team in action as they kept viewers alerted to tornadoes as they developed. It was all very terrifying and at the same time exciting; but I was reassured as I was with my Oklahoma City publicist, Nancy Berland, who has been through t...

Oklahoma City
I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend at home in Port Orchard this past weekend. I stored up all the grandkids hugs I could to last me through the end of the tour. It was so nice to just relax at home. We had gorgeous weather, too, with warm sunshine and big, fluffy clouds.
Today was a travel day, flying to Oklahoma City, where I'll be until Wednesday. Tomorrow I will be chatting with Johnny, host of "From My Mamma's Kitchen" on FMMK Talk Radio here in Oklahoma City, from 10 to 11...

Happy Mother's Day!
Tonight I'll be home in Port Orchard just for the weekend. On Saturday I'll be signing at the Gig Harbor Costco at noon and in Port Orchard at the Bethel Avenenue Book Company at 6 p.m., so do come and say Hi if you're in the area!
Also on Saturday is the Rural Letter Carrier's Food Drive. If you have any non-perishable food items you can share, it would be a big help to local food banks. Please give generously!

Modesto
The past two days have been amazing. So many of my readers are coming out for signings that I’m thrilled and overwhelmed with the response! One group of readers came in a bus with a sign taped on the side. I can’t recall exactly what it said, but the gist of it was “Debbie Macomber or bust!” I hope to receive a photo and will post it when I do.
Wayne attended last night’s signing in Modesto with me. While there he even connected with some second cousins . It was fun to catch up with...

Inspiring Stories
I meet the most amazing people during my signings and hear some wonderful stories. Sue, one of the women in line in Reno last Friday night, relayed to me this inspiring story. Sue was in line at her local grocery when she overhead that the woman ahead of her did not have enough money to pay for all her groceries. Inspired by my book, ONE SIMPLE ACT, Sue decided to make up the difference. In addition to that, because Sue thought the mother looked hassled, she had the clerk add some...

Reno
There was a wonderful turnout at Fox Point on Wednesday. I have to say, Milwaukee is a fabulous book town! I loved seeing everyone, and special thanks to the readers who brought little gifts for Jaxon. He and his mom will love them.
I spent all day yesterday traveling. My plane was late and I had only 15 minutes to make my connection in Denver. Somehow I managed to find a bathroom AND make my flight! It was all worth it when I saw Wayne on the plane—he joined me for the last leg on our w...

Milwaukee
I left Minneapolis in high spirits after the fabulous signing at the Mall of America yesterday. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined in the fun. Today I arrived in Milwaukee with some time to spare, so my escort took me to a few book stores to sign stock AND to a yarn shop. I was so glad to visit Ruhama again, a wonderful yarn store on Silver Spring drive. The shop reminds me of my fictional store on Blossom Street, with ladies knitting and sharing, seated at a table. I was...

Minneapolis
It’s my first day on the "tour road," and I’m in Minneapolis. Upon arrival I didn’t go to the hotel, did not pass go, went directly to the Mall of America (on the pretense of checking out the signing location, when in reality I wanted to try out my brand new credit card). It works!
One hazard of being on tour is visiting all those wonderful book stores--in which I always buy books--and end up carrying them in my suitcase. I love bookstores just as much as yarn stores. This time I vow I am ...

My bags are packed!
My bags are packed, and I'm excited to start off the Hannah's List tour with a signing in Minneapolis. Just think about it--I'm beginning this tour at the largest shopping mall in America. Is this incredible or what?
Wayne lifted my suitcase, and it was so light he asked if I'd forgotten anything. I assured him I had everything I needed. What I might have failed to mention is that all I really need is my credit card.
I hope to see you soon!
