NaNo…or Nan-Not
I'm writing, believe it or not. Have–if my CPs are correct–finally gotten the right start going for Tate's story. He's currently hunting in the woods, trying NOT to throttle his heroine. :) Just the way I like him.
While I'm a definite fan of using Nano to get back into writing regularly, I'm still having trouble making myself buckle down. I've got a plan, though. I'm waking up earlier, going to bed at human hours. This is to help keep the family happy, because they were all planning my painful demise thanks to my 22 hour days keeping THEM up. Next, I'm setting up a timer for all activities. 2 hours for each job. Possibly stopping for food. Possibly. I need to get my word count up and my jobs on timing. Only one thing is sure….
My diet is about to go up in smoke.

Is It Friday?
I swear, I can't tell anymore. One 3am is the same as the next after a while. In this case, I was up at 545 am. Not by choice. Hubby woke up, then the babies woke up…then it was required of me to wake up. I considered a nap, but needed to make a costume–one still to go–and now a lot of work is ahead of me for the weekend. I'll have to sleep next week.
In better news, the rebuilding of the Tate chapters is coming together nicely and thank God, much more smoothly. You are all hopefully less likely to expire of boredom before the villain starts showing some badguy/girl stripes. Am already dubbing this one my "traveling" book.

Parents: 1 – Babies: 1
You'd think that was a tie, but as I sit here at 2am, I'm pretty sure that score is tilted toward the babies' camp.
See, they keep us up anywhere from 1-3 am. Even if we're laying in the dark and have gone hoarse telling them to be quiet and go to sleep. They do get a swat if they don't listen, but I'm pretty sure they secretly don't care about swatting anymore. Pretty sure those buns have no feeling left in them at all.
So, hopefully, I can make it another hour or so…or tackle baby and make her go to sleep with me. ;;0

Would Rather Be Losing Weight…
I'm not bemoaning this choice. My instincts are telling me I made a wrong turn in my book and they're good enough instincts that I feel I need to trust them. But cutting off 10,000 words to make a novel read better is a lot like looking at your bank account after you've made your house and car payment.
Not soul-crushing but ever so slightly depressing. If I'm losing 10k of anything, couldn't it be grams? (Incidentally, 10k grams is exactly what I need to lose, lol)
So, as I probably should have explained, I have sliced off 10k from the six chapters I have finished of "Deceiving The Protector". The start was dragging, which makes me think it was stuff I had to get worked through in my head to tell the story, but not something the reader needs to follow me in. In fact, there was stuff there that was going to drive a reader batty, I think.
So now, it's going to start with the couple meeting and you'll get to see the heroine as he does, uncover the mystery as he does. I very, VERY much like this approach.
Wish me luck, folks. We're heading into Nano and some serious writing MUST be achieved to make it up.
