Tech Review for Writers: reMarkable2

I got myself a piece of interesting tech this year in hopes it would get me from out in front of a computer screen more often. Meet the reMarkable2, a distraction free (i.e. it’s not connected to the entirety of the internet) e-ink tablet workhorse that’s easy on the eyes.

The reMarkable2 Tablet The reMarkable2 Tablet

First things first. The reMarkable2 tablet is not for everyone and your average person probably won’t find it the least bit useful. So let’s talk about why you don’t want this tablet first.

New Year, New Geese

Morning Geese - S. Riesner

I have so many great projects planned for 2021, but because I don’t want to promise anything prematurely, I’m going to hold off promising anything until it’s listed on Amazon (or other sites) as available (or at least done and on pre-order). The goal is to lighten my stress load. We’ll see how it goes. Keep your eye on the main page of this site to see what is coming and what has been released in 2021.

Year End Post

I know 2020 sucked. It sucked bad. However, despite all that suckage, it was one of my most productive years ever. (If you don’t want to read happy productivity posts, stop right here.)

Even with having to continue running my household and working 30-35 hours a week at the side gig (which had a COVID19 outbreak in November), I managed to write and release:

4 – 12K-15K novellas  (Something Wicked, Thoroughly Wicked, Bloody Wicked, Hauntingly Wicked)3  – 20K-30K novellas  (Cult of Lucifuge...

New Release: Hauntingly Wicked #WickedWays #halloween #cozymystery

Hauntingly Wicked (Wicked Ways Book 5) Audrey Brice

Northrop has gone to the ghosts.

I’m Elise Marybell Marple, owner of the magic shop Wicked Ways. When Lucy Littman, resident Realtor of Northrop shows up at the shop begging me to exorcise the spirits at an upscale property she’s trying to sell, how could I say no? After all, real hauntings are rare, even for a supernatural town like Northrop. The minute Shelly and I get involved – Wicked Ways inherits a spectral visitor of its ow...

New Release: Resurrection (Amelia Doss Book One) #horror #serialkiller #ghosts #slasher #halloween

Resurrection by Audrey Brice & Andre Gonzalez

Some legends should stay buried.

Amelia Doss is a name whispered in Ridgeway, part of a bloody history that residents would rather forget. For Tyler Reynolds and his friends, tempting fate with a ritual to release Amelia’s unquiet spirit is just a game to pass the time. That is – until the murders start all over again.

For Tyler, it’s the beginning of a series of horrors, prompting him to question his belief in an afterlife, unearthi...

New Release: Coven Cursed #urbanfantasy #PNR #reverseharem

Coven Cursed: Thirteen Covens Academy #3 – Audrey Brice

Hell hath no fury like a coven scorned.

The Order is trying to change things, but I’m afraid it’s futile. Every time I think I’m making headway, things get worse. Just when I thought  Eric, Josh, and Gary could get along, James shows up. He’s rude and arrogant, and coven approved, which makes me hate him even more. So why can’t I stop having visions of us together, carnally, during an Asmodai Rite? My horrific love life aside,...

21 Things You Need to Know About Writing as a Career Before You Quit Your Job. #amwriting

I know – I know! Geez, Steph, way to piss all over someone’s dreams. But I don’t think people really understand what it actually takes to sell and THRIVE as a self-employed writer, and a lot of that depends on your personality, your productivity skills, your strengths, your motivation, your weaknesses, and whether or not you have someone to support you. A lot of people THINK they want to be career writers, but mostly because they think it’s fun and easy. Sadly, a lot of people will publish books...
