What's Your Number?

When my very good friend, Karyn, read an article about how many sexual partners the average person has in a lifetime (10.5) and she realized that not only wasn't she done living, she'd already exceeded that number by double (or triple, who knows, my girl gets around) this shocking statistic made her think that she better slow it down or perhaps revisit some of the previous conquests to reign that number in and perhaps see if she hadn't been too hasty in letting some of these previous gents go.

The result was her FICTION book called 20 Times a Lady. Which is totally fiction (wink) and now the book has been made into a movie that's coming out September 30th! To celebrate the release of the movie they have re-released the book and I am giving away two signed copies. One UK version. One US version.

One with Anna Faris on the cover:

One with Anna Faris and Captain America on the cover:

All you have to do to win either book is write your number in the comments section. Winners will be picked at random by Karyn.

So…what's your number?

So many unanswered questions still...

On this, the 10th anniversary of 9/11, I found myself weeping as I watched the live coverage from Ground Zero today. Paul Simon playing those first few recognizable notes of The Sound Of Silence, the children who lost their parents, the grieving families and the leaders who tried to honor them all — heartbreaking.

I thought about my next-door neighbor as I often do even on days that aren't 9/11. The single father who never came home that day. He was raising a two-year-old boy on his own. That boy, now 12, where is he?

I thought about the families of people I knew who worked in the towers and were lost on that day. And the thousands of others I didn't know. How can it ever get any easier?

I thought about how in a matter of minutes we were forever changed as a nation for the very worst of reasons. And even this weekend our safety is threatened. Those of us in New York have been warned of 'credible threats,' ensuring that once again we don't feel safe - we can't feel safe.

We will never be the same again.

My heart is with the families of those we lost on 9/11.

My eternal gratitude goes out to the first responders.

My fear is that we'll never find a way to peacefully coexist.

My hope is that we will.

There is nothing funny about missing children. Ever. But…I need to know why the family chose this photo. Because when I just saw this, I felt like I was Rick-Rolled.
