Transitions
It’s been a while, and I thought I’d update my followers on what’s been going on.Working at Subway so I can pay the bills, and I hate to admit, but I’m starting to enjoy it there.I’m also on a path to take on a pastoral role. I’m not exactly sure where that path is going to end up, but I’m open to the journey. As for the world of entertainment and geek culture…The 2nd edition of the Horror Crossover Encyclopedia is coming out at some point.I’m also still working on the Cartoon Crossover Encyclopedia and Television Crossover Universe: Worlds and Mythology Volume II, but very infrequently. However, I am more frequently posting new stuff on the TVCU website, and I’m in the process of cleaning up some of the older posts.I’m also actively posting in my various Facebook groups that I moderate, and I’m still keeping up on the latest television and tracking the crossovers.I lost the podcast, and the hope of doing the spin-off podcast. My primary income comes right now from my disability, and a paperwork complication caused me to lose my primary income for two months. Fortunately, my finances are back on track, but sadly I couldn’t keep up the fees for the show during that two month period and so Super Entertainment had to give up financing the show. Fortunately, 18thWall Productions picked up the sponsorship so that show is continuing on with James Bojaciuk as host.Sadly, my plans for the Random Fandom spin-off podcast with myself and Ivan Schablotski won’t happen. We were in talks with the Grand Guignol Network and it was looking good, but since I wasn’t able to keep up payments on the first show, the negotiations for the second show fell apart. So that’s what’s going on.

Notes: I could accept Peter Pan as a villain. I could accept England being called Albion. However, the appearance of Imhotep as one of the villains conflicts with the Universal film, so this must be a divergent timeline.

TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN VOLUME 1: THE MODERN BABYLON “MASK OF THE MONSTER” (SHORT STORY BY MATTHEW BAUGH)Release Date: 2005 (Setting is 1912)Series: Tales of the ShadowmenHorror Crosses: Frankenstein (novel); Sar Dubnotal; Jules de Grandin
Non-Horror Crosses: Judex; Sherlock Holmes; Rouletabille; Jules Maigret; Dupin; Rocambole; Baloo; Dr. Cornelius Kramm; Doctor Lorde

April to June 1916--JUDEX--Events of the serial the introduced the title character.

TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN VOLUME 1: THE MODERN BABYLON “PENUMBRA” (SHORT STORY BY JEAN-MARC AND RANDY LOFFICIER)Release Date: 2005 (Setting is 1916, during the events of Les Vampires)Series: Tales of the ShadowmenHorror Crosses: The VampiresNon-Horror Crosses: Batman; Fantomas; Judex; Rouletabille; Nyctalope; the Shadow; Doctor Mystere; The Merry WidowThe Story: Dr. Thomas and Martha Wayne are on honeymoon in Paris where they become targets of the infamous Vampires gang, and are aided by the vigilante hero Judex.Notes: The Vampires are from the serial film Les Vampires. Batman’s inclusion here through his parents, based on the date of the setting, implies that this is the golden age version of Batman, and only his golden age tales, and other crossovers in this book, should be considered Horror Universe canon. Clearly there is a place for the Dark Knight Detective in this world, especially with some of his darker adventures. Fantomas is a pulp vigilante of the era, as is Rouletabille, the Nyctalope, the Shadow, and Doctor Mystere. Judex is a vigilante from the film serial of the same name. Interestingly, this story implies that the Shadow may be the true father of Batman. Though that wouldn’t fly as canon in the DC Comics Universe, it certainly may be true in the Horror Universe. The alias used by the Shadow of Col. Kentov is the same one used in Philip Jose Farmer’s Adventure of the Peerless Peer, thus I have an inclination to include that tale in Horror Universe canon as well despite its lack of horror crossovers. The Merry Widow is a film that is placed in canon due to references in this story.

TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN VOLUME 2: GENTLEMEN OF THE NIGHT “LOST AND FOUND” (SHORT STORY BY JEAN-MARC LOFFICIER)Release Date: 2006 (Setting is 1916)Series: Tales of the ShadowmenHorror Crosses: The VampiresNon-Horror Crosses: Judex; Maltese FalconThe Story: Judex tips off the Vampires gang to an incoming shipment of a certain infamous Falcon statue.Notes: Thus bringing in the novel of the Maltese Falcon into the Horror Universe.
TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN VOLUME III: DANSE MACABRE “TWO HUNTERS” (SHORT STORY BY ROBERT L. ROBINSON, JR.)Release Date: 2007 (Setting is 1917)Series: Tales of the ShadowmenHorror Crosses: The VampiresNon-Horror Crosses: Tarzan; Opar; JudexThe Story: One of Tarzan’s foes plots to kidnap Jane and their child, prompting Tarzan and Judex to work together.
Notes: Tarzan’s Horror Universe canon is his original stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs and crossover stories mentioned in this book. Opar is also a creation of Burroughs and the same rules apply. Judex is from a film serial, as are the Vampires. Originally, I had this set in 1915, in the Horror Crossover Encyclopedia, based on information from Win Scott Eckert, but the author of the story has informed me the story was set in 1917.
1917--JUDEX'S NEW MISSION--A sequel serial was released in 1917 titled Judex's New Mission (La Nouvelle Mission de Judex).
World War I circa 1917--NIGHT OF THE NYCTALOPE--"Justice and Power"--"Justice and Power" has a pain-maddened Leo Saint-Clair knocking heads with Judex during one of the closing battles of World War I circa 1917, which explains how the Nyctalope had his memories of the horrible tragedy that befell his family on Barsoom suppressed for so long.

THE BLOODY RED BARON: ANNO DRACULA 1918 (NOVEL BY KIM NEWMAN)Release Date: November 1995 (Setting is 1918)Series: Anno DraculaAnimated Series Crosses: PeanutsOther Crosses: The Shadow; Biggles; Sherlock Holmes; The Vampyre; Ashenden; The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari; Fantomas; Dr. Thorndyke; Bulldog Drummond; The Saint; The Island of Doctor Moreau; Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos; Batman (Silver Age); Harry Flashman; Doc Savage; Captain Midnight; Sidney Reilly; Lord Peter Wimsey; Lady Chatterley’s Lover; Arrowsmith; The Sun Also Rises; Averoigne; Enemy Ace; Grave of the Vampire; Hellraiser; Dawn Patrol; Robur the Conqueror; La Bete Humaine; Alraune; The Great Gatsby; A Rebours; The Black Cat; All Quiet on the Western Front; Sadie Thompson; Lemora; The Blue Angel; The Roaring Twenties; Gigi; Tarnished Angels; The Good Soldier Svejk; Jules et Jim; Le Roi de Coeur; The Last Flight; Billy Bunter; Judex; Dad’s Army; The Vampire Thrills; The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp; Faustine; Citizen Kane; The Bridge on the River Kwai; Oh! What a Lovely War; Paths of Glory; Metropolis; The Spy in Black; Near Dark; Forever Knight; Parade’s End; The Heap; Where Eagles Dare; Fright Night; Journey’s End; Dracula; The Big Parade; Anak Pontianak; The Blue Max; Necroscope; Revelations in Black; The Dragon Waiting; Paths of Glory; Under Two Flags; Doctor WhoThe Story: During World War I, 30 years after the events of Anno Dracula, the Diogenes Club tries to stop the Nazis from creating undead fighter pilots. Notes: The Anno Dracula Universe is a divergent timeline, where Dracula married Queen Victoria during the events of Bram Stoker’s novel. This led to a very different reality. Snoopy appears in this story, having been shot down by the Red Baron. In the main Cartoon Universe, Snoopy’s battles with the Red Baron didn’t really happen, and were merely part of Snoopy’s imagination. It seems that in this divergent timeline, Snoopy indeed existed as a pilot in World War I, placing those imaginary scenarios and two popular songs in this divergent timeline. Perhaps the Snoopy of the main reality gets visions of his alternate timeline counterpart, which inspire his playtime. Other crosses listed above are also divergent versions that exist in the Anno Dracula timeline.

May 1925--BELPHEGOR--The Celeritas Detective Agency appears in this serial and also previously appeared in JUDEX.
1925--THE SHADOW OF JUDEX--"The Dreadful Conspiracy"--A young Doc Savage is suspected of murder. Crossovers include: JUDEX (of course), BELPHAGOR, DOC ARDAN, JULES DE GRANDIN, MAIGRET, SOLAR PONS, FU MANCHU, BOB MORANE, ANTON ZARNAK, TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN, AUGUSTE DUPIN, THE BRIGADES DU TIGRE, JOHN DEVIL, BLAKE AND MORTIMER. Some entries, such as this one, list the large number of crossovers without much detail because Sean Levin's website already covers them in much greater detail.
TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN VOLUME 10: ESPIRIT DE CORPS “THE PRIVILEGE OF ADONIS” (SHORT STORY BY CHRIS NIGRO)Release Date: November 30, 2013 (Setting is 1929)Series: Tales of the ShadowmenHorror Crosses: Werewolf of Paris; Hunchback of Notre Dame; Frankenstein (Skywald Comics)Non-Horror Crosses: Felifax the Tiger ManThe Story: Felifax battles the Werewolf of Paris while his surrogate sister is kidnapped by Quasimodo. Notes: Author Chris Nigro explains in this story the appearances of the Hunchback in such a late time frame as the late 19th and early 20th centuries, considering the setting of the original story. In particular, he references the meeting between the hunchback and the Frankenstein Monster in Skywald’s Psycho # 4. Felifax is an obscure French jungle hero whose original adventures have recently been reprinted by Black Coat Press. He has only appeared in two stories not by the original author. One is this story, and the other is “The Eye of the Tiger-Man” also by Chris Nigro and found in the Shadow of Judex anthology also published by Black Coat.

1929--THE SHADOW OF JUDEX--"The Judex Codex"--Raymond Mystère and Henrietta de Marigny explore a Mayan temple in Guatemala. Other crossovers include: JUDEX, MARTIN MYSTERE, D'ARTOIS, LOVECRAFT'S CTHULHU MYTHOS, TITUS CROW, INDIANA JONES, TOM SWIFT, THE SHIP OF ISHTAR, NOSTROMO, AGUIRE: THE WRATH OF GOD, DOCTOR MYSTERE, THE PINK PANTHER, LORD OF THE RINGS, MEN IN BLACK, PHILIP JOSE FARMER'S WOLD NEWTON UNIVERSE, CONAN THE BARBARIAN, THE SHIP FROM ATLANTIS, IMARO, OPAR, CAPTAIN OWEN KETTLE, EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS' MOON SERIES, FU MANCHU, IRONCASTLE, THONGOR, L'OMBRE,
May 1934--THE NYCTALOPE STEPS IN--"The Nyctalope's New York Adventure"--Crossovers include: JUDEX (of course), THE SHADOW, THE WORKS OF P..G. WODEHOUSE, MR. MULLINER, JEEVES AND WOOSTER, THE CASEBOOK OF GREGORY HOOD, THE WORKS OF ANTHONY BOUCHER, SHERLOCK HOLMES, FERGUS O'BREEN, NICK NOBLE, ELLERY QUEEN, MR. AND MRS. NORTH, THE WORKS OF GEORGES SIMENON, MAIGRET, ZIGOMAR, NERO WOLFE, TECUMSEH FOX, THE SAINT, PROSPER LEPICQ, COLONOL DUBOIS, TAXI, THREE STOOGES, THE WORKS OF DAMON RUNYON, and THE BLACK BAT.
1940--THE SHADOW OF JUDEX--”Ilsa’s Crossing”--Judex helps a resistance members flee the Nazies while seeking out documents of Nazi scientists. The War Wheel is mentioned. The War Wheel was encountered by the Blackhawks, Batman, Captain America, Sgt. Rock, and Easy Company.

Early 20th Century--DEFENDERS # 2--In the 2012 revival of the series, Judex is revealed to have been a member of a European super-hero team in the early 20th century.

TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN VOLUME 7: FEMME FATALES “FACES OF FEAR “ (SHORT STORY BY MATTHEW DENNION)Release Date: November 27, 2010 (Setting is 1959 and contemporary) Series: Tales of the ShadowmenHorror Crosses: A NIghtmare on Elm StreetNon-Horror Crosses: Judex; BatmanThe Story: In 1959, Dr. Jonathan Crane tests his fear toxin on a little girl. Her fear is so strong that it pulls Freddy Krueger from his future time period, allowing Krueger to possess the girl. Notes: Dr. Jonathan Crane will go on to become Batman’s foe, the Scarecrow. In the comics, the Scarecrow first appeared in the 1940s. In the Horror Universe, there was a Batman in the 1940s, with his sidekick becoming the second Robin in the 1960s. Presumably, Crane was younger in the Horror Universe and went on to be an enemy of the second Batman. In Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, Freddy dissipated at the end of the story, as he often does when he’s defeated. This time, he must have moved backward through time, being incorporeal within the timestream. This story isn’t the first instance of Freddy possessing someone. In the second Nightmare film, Freddy possesses Jesse, the boy who moves into Nancy’s house five years after Nancy defeated Freddy. His anxiety as the new kid allowed Freddy to slowly take over. The more control he gained, the more fear Jesse had of losing control. Thus, the fear of losing control gave Freddy more control. Then in Nightmare 5, Freddy tries to possess an unborn child still within the womb, this time by convincing the child in his dreams to willingly be a vessel. Judex is the hero of this story.

Returning guest host Chris Nigro joins the TVCU Crew to talk with Matthew Dennion about Tales of the Shadowmen, Sherlock Holmes, G-Fan, Judex, Batman, Freddy Krueger, the Invisible Man, Latitude Zero, Kaiju, Polar Yeti, Atomic Rex, French Pulps, Victorian literature, crossovers, and Black Coat Press.

April 1987--TALES OF THE SHADOWMEN VOLUME 11: FORCE MAJEURE--"A Fistful of Judexes"--An interview with a security company that carries on the legacy of Judex. Crossovers include: HOUSE OF CARDS, BERGERAC, TEDDY VERANO, THE BLACK COATS.
ALTERNATE REALITIES:
TVCU-2--A remake was made in 1934 under the same title, directed by Maurice Champreux, and starring René Ferté as Judex.
TVCU-3--Another remake was done in 1963 by director Georges Franju under the same title. The story was shortened and simplified but remained true to the original. American magician Channing Pollock was cast as the mysterious hero.
TVCU-4--The setting of a screenplay for Judex by Robert L. Robinson, Jr., which is available from Black Coat Press. The story places Judex in the modern era, circa 2007, and Mr. Robinson informs me he is trying to get a Judex television series created!!!
There were some Tales of the Shadowmen stories that I didn't have dates for, so I have left them off until I can find the dates. I have all the books, but they are buried right now unfortunately.
Thanks to Win Scott Eckert, Jess Nevins, and Jean-Marc Lofficier, for bringing Judex into my world.
And coming soon... Les Vampires!

The Man from Atlantis

Prince Namor has only been hinted at in the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to legal entanglements, and Aquaman is about to become the hottest super-hero on the big screen, after years of being the joke from the Super-Friends, and Waterworld.... Well, let's not go there.
[image error][image error][image error][image error]
Once upon a time, there was a show starring an aquatic hero who had not originated from the comics.

1977 to 1978--THE MAN FROM ATLANTIS--The adventures of a man with amphibious abilities.
1977--KENNER--A line of toys and action figures was in production but never got released as the show didn't fare as well as expected. I presume that some sort of commercials or tie-in stories would have been created.
1978--THE MAN FROM ATLANTIS (MARVEL COMICS)--More stories within the same canon.
1978--THE MAN FROM ATLANTIS (LOOK-IN)--A British comic strip within the same canon.

Notes: This story takes place in an alternate universe, but because it does feature Moreau and the mythos, it must be in the Horror Multiverse. When it comes to worldview issues, it’s a fine line. But Verne as President of France would have a huge historical impact, as is demonstrated in this story, that would alter the present day Horror Universe.

TOOBWORLD--According to Toby O'Brien, the Aquaman of Earth-Prime Time was "Mark Harris", as seen in THE MAN FROM ATLANTIS. Read more here.

Hey Stella! STELLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! A Streetcar Named Desire
"In 1947, when Marlon Brando appeared on stage in a torn, sweaty T-shirt, there was an earthquake; and the male as sex object is still at our culture's center stage. In the age of Calvin Klein steaming hunks, it must be hard for [kids today] to realize that there was ever a time when a man was nothing but a suit of clothes, a shirt and tie, shined leather shoes, and a gray, felt hat."
—Gore Vidal
1947--A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE--Disturbed Blanche DuBois moves in with her sister in New Orleans and is tormented by her brutish brother-in-law while her reality crumbles around her. IMDB, ever conflating minor characters, seems to think that the sailor from A Streetcar Named Desire is the same sailor (played over the decades by different actors) from

1947--L.A. NOIRE--Elysian Fields is referenced in the 2011 video game L.A. Noire . It is a housing development for returning WWII veterans in 1947 Los Angeles. Poorly constructed from substandard materials, it is intended to be burned down as part of an insurance scheme by the builders.

Pee-Wee's Big Blog!
Occasionally, the TVCU will discuss a character whose origins are a little askew of the norm. Pee-Wee Herman did not start off in some film or tv storyline, like most of our characters discussed. If anything, he falls in the ranks with such an assortment of characters as Father Guido Sarducci, Kermit the Frog, Jose Jiminez, Elvira and mostly, the Shadow.

1912 to Present--Santa has appeared on screen since 1912, in over a thousand films and television shows. Not all are TVCU canon. Of those that are, some are of the “real” Santa and some are just a man in the suit, but it’s a TVCU concept that anyone wearing the suit can become possessed by the Christmas Spirit, a magical tulpa like aspect of Jesus. February 1965--THE MAN FROM UNCLE--"The Bow Wow Affair"--Guido Panzini appears. Guido Panzini is a fictional character, the creation of comedian Pat Harrington Junior. He also appears on a lot of comedy-variety shows, but also appears on McHale's Navy and One Day at a time. This character fits in a certain category of fictional characters that are involved in crossovers, even though they might not have a series of their own. Others in this type of category include Jose Jiminez, Father Guido Sarducci, Elvira, and Pee Wee Herman.
1977--THE GROUNDLINGS--Pee-Wee's first appearance was when Paul Reubens was part of this improv group. The characters was actually co-created by Reubens and Phil Hartman.
1979--THE DATING GAME--Pee-Wee Herman was a contestant on the show THREE TIMES!!!

1985--PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE--The next movie with a Tarzan is Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. This isn't a real Tarzan. Pee-Wee is a fictional character played by Paul Reubins, a lot. Pee-Wee is in the TVCU, and actually is one of those great characters that connects a lot of series together, and I will discuss him some time in the future in more detail. But just to make it clear, this appearance of a man posing as Tarzan in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure takes place in the TVCU. Reformatted to match the format I currently use but hadn't yet adapted when I wrote this blog.
1985--ROCK'N'WRESTLING SATURDAY SPECTACULAR--Pee-Wee crosses with the very fictionalized versions of the WWF wrestlers as they appear in the Saturday morning cartoon.

1985--42ND GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS--Pee-Wee appears.

1986 to 1991--PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE--A kid's show featuring Pee-Wee. Note that even though Pee-Wee Herman was raised in Florida (with his sister) and most of his adventures occur in the TVCU, the Playhouse exists in Puppetland, a pocket reality that apparently is easily accessible from the TVCU based on the guests that appear on the show.
Summer 1987--BACK TO THE BEACH--Pee-Wee has a cameo, crossing over with this sequel to the classic Frankie and Annette beach movies.
1987--IT'S HOWDY DOODY TIME--This reunion show makes a crossover between Pee-Wee and Howdy Doody.

1988--MOONWALKER--Pee-Wee appears in this Michael Jackson documentary.
1988--"REALITY"--Pee-Wee Herman, not Paul Reubens, gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

December 1988--CHRISTMAS AT PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE--Santa appears.
1989--TRAVELS WITH PEE-WEE--A BOOK.
1991--1991 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS--Pee-Wee Herman appears after his show was recently cancelled, and makes a sly joke regarding his friend Paul Reuben's recently embarrassing public incident....
1992--GRAND OLE OPRY--Pee-Wee appears to pay tribute to Minnie Pearl. After this, he disappears for some time.
July 2005--FAMILY GUY--"8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter"--The scene in which Stewie tests his “teleportation pods” and merges with Rupert is similar to one in the 1958 movie The Fly. While stopping at Goldman’s Pharmacy, Peter imitates an Excedrin commercial and buys several copies of the fashion magazine Marie Claire, only to be disappointed by the physical appearance of actress Kathleen Turner. In a cutaway, Peter buys a “breakfast machine,” which turns out to be a Rube Goldberg machine which shoots him. The breakfast machine itself is similar to the breakfast machine featured in the film Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. The Danny Elfman music used in the scene was adapted from said film. One of the people Lois interviews for the babysitter for Stewie is Gloop from the 1967 TV show The Herculoids
October 2006--CHILLER THEATRE EXPO--Pee-Wee Herman returns, appearing at this east coast fan convention.
2007--GUYS' CHOICE AWARDS--Pee-Wee's return to television!
August 5, 2007--HOLLYWOOD FOREVER CEMETERY--Pee-Wee appears to introduce a screening of the documentary based on his infamous bicycle theft.

Notes: This film exposes the secret truth behind modern horror. Behind it all is a secret organization, chosen to sacrifice youth to ancient gods. All of the above named crossovers have been linked in this film, and revealed to be part of this secret conspiracy. Most of the crossovers above come from the monsters and artifacts contained in the facility. While some of the monsters and artifacts are clearly from certain films above, many are based on certain types of horror films, in which case I included the more well-known of these film types. I recommend the well-researched Cabin in the Woods Wiki for a more detailed listing of the monsters and their inspirations. Note that I included in the above crossovers some monsters that only appeared in the official novelization and the official Universal Theme Park attraction tie-in. With this film, I break one of my major rules of crossover connecting. Though some of the crosses are direct crosses, like Evil Dead and Left 4 Dead, most of them are only connected because the films represent the more well-known films of the trope from which a certain monster comes. Normally, I would not count something that is “like something from”, but there is dialogue within the film that makes me break my rule. In one scene, referring to the monsters, security officer Daniel Truman says “They’re like something from a nightmare.” Lin, a head scientist, responds, “No, they’re something nightmares are from.” She goes on to explain that these monsters are the creations of the Ancient Ones, having been around since the beginning, and different cultures have told stories that interpret them in different ways. Thus, in the instance of this film, “like” is enough because of the author’s intent. And thus my love/hate relationship with Joss Whedon, for expanding the Horror Universe dramatically but making me do a lot of work to write this entry. Note that this film ends with the start of an apocalypse, so the end must veer into a divergent timeline. We must presume in the main Horror Universe, the virgin shot the fool. And if you haven’t seen the movie, that last sentence probably seems very bizarre. This film has been referenced as fictional in South Park, The Cinema Snob, Scary Movie 5, and Doc of the Dead. It is also paid homage to in Red Dawn when Chris Hemsworth and his friends once more wind up in a cabin in the woods. The film has also been spoofed in Robot Chicken and Scary Movie 5.

2012--KNFR FROM 7:00 - 7:30--Pee Wee appears, though voiced by show regular Vincent Gargiulo.
2013--COMEDY BANG BANG--"Pee-Wee Herman Wears a Halloween Costume"--Pee Wee is the guest on this sort of fake talk show.
December 2015--PEE-WEE'S BIG HOLIDAY--Pee-Wee's real triumphant return in this highly watched Netflix film.
In the Not Too Distant Future--Pee-Wee's Playhouse: The Movie--Reubens has been planning this film for a while, in which someone from the Playhouse disappears, and the other characters venture off on a road trip throughout Puppetland to find him. Reubens has expressed his top choice to play Pee-Wee would be Johnny Depp (who is interested), but if he can't do it, then Reubens will reprise the role. Even if recast, it will still be in the same canon as the original series. Reubens also hopes to get Justin Bieber to appear.
Then--THE PEE-WEE HERMAN STORY--This is meant to be a Judd Apatow project that would be a documentary or reality show following Pee-Wee becoming a musical star.
ALTERNATE REALITIES--
ROBOT CHICKEN UNIVERSE--Pee-Wee has appeared three times on Robot Chicken. Voiced by Seth Green.

Royalties are a great motivator!
My second book, Television Crossover Universe: Worlds and Mythology Volume I, yields royalty checks deposited into my account every month. Sure, they are small checks, but the fact that they come every month means I keep selling the book.Every time I get an e-mail notification of a royalty check, it reminds me that someone out there wants me to keep writing. And keep writing I shall.

MONSTERS OF THE MOVIES MAGAZINE # 1 “THE LIFE STORY OF KING KONG” (STORY BY JIM HARMON)Release Date: June 1, 1974 (Setting is 1931)Series: King Kong (original)Non-Horror Crosses: G-8; Captain Midnight; The Spider; The Shadow; Smilin’ Jack Martin; Tailspin Tommy; Jimmie Allen; TarzanThe Story: In this essay, Jim Harmon speculates on the events of King Kong. Specifically, he believes that the bi-planes that attacked Kong were actually flown by Captain Midnight (also known as G-8), Smilin’ Jack Martin, Tailspin Tommy and Jimmie Allen.
Notes: Harmon speculates G-8 (the pulp hero) and Captain Midnight (the radio hero) are one and the same character, having used both identities at different times in his career. He also says he does not believe the rumor that G-8 did “hide in the shadows like some creeping spider.” This is a reference to Farmer’s assertion in Tarzan Alive that G-8, the Shadow, and the Spider were actually one person with multiple personalities, which he later altered in Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life to say they were brothers. Smilin’ Jack Martin and Tailspin Tommy were comic strip aviators. Jimmie Allen was a radio aviator hero.

1933 to 1937--THE AIR ADVENTURES OF JIMMIE ALLEN--concerning a 16-year-old pilot and his adventures flying around the world, primarily solving mysteries and crimes and participating in air show races. about Jimmie Allen, a young telegraph messenger at the Airways Station near Kansas City. A gruff man asks him to send a coded telegram. Later Allen is told that a plane carrying a million dollars to a bank is on its way. Allen figures out the plane is to be hijacked, so he joins his pilot friend, Speed Robertson, in a plan to thwart the hijacking. In following episodes, Speed and Jimmie, in their attempt to thwart the hijacking, are captured but escape in a small plane which crashes, and then are recaptured. Throughout this initial story arc, Robertson is Jimmie's mentor. He does all the flying and continually teaches Allen a trick or two that he learned in World War I. After an exciting aerial dogfight near the end of the story, Robertson reveals that the FBI has made him a G-Man. In subsequent episodes of the series, Jimmie expresses interest in becoming a pilot and enrolls in flying school. Numerous exciting adventures follow, full of danger and mystery.

1940s--IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN--"On the Trail of Professor Proteus"--Jimmie Allen meets Gene Autry.
ALTERNATE REALITIES:
TVCU-2: From 1946 to 1947, a new Jimmie Allen radio series came about that featured a reboot of the series, with some rewritten stories and some new adventures. This series still features a teen Jimmie Allen, and the retold stories are updated for modernized technology and contemporary references, making it a remake, and setting it in the TVCU-2.

The rumors of my regeneration…
I thought I had to give up writing and entertaining in order to serve a higher calling, but then God told me that writing and entertaining is my higher calling. So my retirement/sabbatical was short lived. So let me tell you what’s coming now that I’m back.First, the Horror Crossover Universe 2nd ed. will be out from 18thWall Productions soon. It will feature a new introspective by me, a new foreword by Trick or Treat Radio’s Dynamo Marz, and a new matte cover.Next. The podcast. I didn’t leave the podcast. I’m just behind the scenes like an evil mastermind. I was going through a rough patch and hosting, directing and producing the show was tough on me. The Television Crossover Universe Podcast, with it’s weekly guests who all have books out that need to be read before conducting a proper interview was hard on me. I recently have had increased medical problems (though not too serious) and the taking on of a supplemental job that have made running that show properly too demanding. So I did step back. I am still executive producer, consultant, and a recurring guest co-host. I’ve handed the steering wheel over to James Bojaciuk, and he will do awesome. He has also handpicked a new cast for the new season, and if you’re a fan of the show, you’ll love the new yet familiar voices. As for myself, Ivan Schablotski, and Chris Nigro… If you miss us, don’t worry. One of the more used crossover types is the spin-off, where characters from one show get to star in a new series. We have a spin-off coming. The TVCU Podcast is going to dive more into the author interviews as it remains the intellectual show about trivial things. The new show is more about the three dimwits. We’ll have lots of discussions, lots of convention specials, and occasional interviews with stars of cult movies and comic book greats. And I’m back to work on finishing up TVCU: Worlds and Mythology Volume II, after which I will finish the Cartoon Crossover Encyclopedia.Oh, and I’m working on a Shadow crossover chronology for the TVCU website. So, thanks to all who let me know they weren’t happy that I was giving up. It’s why I’m back. And now, the Pussycats and I are about to take the TARDIS to vacation on Krypton. It should be fine.Remember, everything happens somewhere. Good night.
