The Television Crossover Universe Celebrates Patrick Rahall!!!
This is the last in the bio series.
Just as it only took one blog post to make Brad Mengel a TVCU Crewsie, likewise Patrick Rahall only guest co-hosted one episode of the podcast, in which we discussed Stranger Things, and that was enough to make him a Crewsie.
Beyond this one episode, I'd already known Patrick of course. Some may know him better as Patsy the Angry Nerd.
I first met Patrick through the live chat experience that accompanies Trick or Treat Radio's live broadcasts on Wednesday night. Both of us had become quite the irregulars on that show.
I later had the opportunity to meet the man in person at a gathering at Dynamo Marz's home. (Dynamo, in case you didn't know, was the person who recommended I have my own podcast, and has written the foreword for the 2nd edition of the Horror Crossover Encyclopedia.)
At that party, Patsy and I hit it off and I knew I wanted to have him on the show at some point. Patsy was also a regular co-host on the Elm Street Kids Movie Club and had launched his own show, Throwdown Thursdays.
It was in the discussion group for Elm Street that I saw Patsy ranting about crossovers in Stranger Things, and we were about to record our own crossover themed discussion of Stranger Things. So there you go.
Hopefully, once the new show, Random Fandom gets going for a while, we'll start having discussion guests on again, and I would love to have Patsy on the new show. He certainly has a lot to say about random fandom.
TVCU #38 - Stranger Things
Patsy didn't respond to the questionnaire I sent out, but should he provide me the answers in the future, I'll add them here.
So that's it for the TVCU Crew celebration. Now back to my backlog of regularly planned posts that I had meant to put out in the past few months.
Coming up next will be A BELATED CHRISTMAS STORY!!!

The Television Crossover Universe Celebrates NICOLE PETIT!!!
As stated in our last post, with the launch of our podcast, the definition of membership in the TVCU Crew was expanded to include both website contributors and podcast hosts.
Nicole Petit was a guest interviewee on our show twice and a guest co-host once, which is enough to make her a TVCU Crew member. But it should be noted those three appearances are three of our most popular episodes, not only with our listeners, but also with the rest of the TVCU Crew.
Nicole didn't provide answers to the questionnaire I sent out to the Crewsies, but should she in the future I will post those here. But below are the links to her three episodes.

February 23, 2016Chris Nigro joins the TVCU Crew as new regular weekly co-host as they talk with Nicole Petit about Scarlet Chase, dragons, Coney Island, the old West, Arthurian legend, southern accents, Bewitched, and of course, crossovers!!!
Up to this point, our first episode with Green was the top rated show. Nicole Petit, a very new author working with 18thWall, and a special friend of James, blew that away and has remained the top rated show at least until I stepped down from the show. (I don't see the stats anymore.) I should point out that up to this point, I had been choosing all the guests for the show, and the guests were all authors who had written something in the past decade that was referenced in my Horror Crossover Encyclopedia. We got this show on the network based on the merits of the HCE, and so I felt an obligation to tie in the book to the show until we got established. This was the first guest chosen by James. And she was so delightful and fun. And again with the accents She was also part of a pattern in which we seemed to have had on our show or plugged almost every author who would later that year win a New Pulp Ark Award. Turns out we can pick the winners. Nicole would come back as guest and guest co-host.

The Television Crossover Universe Celebrates MICAH S. HARRIS!!!
As stated in our last post, with the launch of our podcast, the definition of membership in the TVCU Crew was expanded to include both website contributors and podcast hosts.
Micah S. Harris started off as a guest, coming on the show to talk about hisr work. We ran out of time with still more to talk about, so we had him back on as soon as possible. Eventually, he made a third appearance and became our most frequently returning guest. Later, when we underwent a drastic cast change up, Micah became a frequent guest co-host.
I will continue at this point to discuss some of my favorites of Micah's episodes.

Harris about his crossover heavy body of work. We cover a wide range of topics, including King Kong, Becky Sharp, Ravenwood, Jim Anthony, Lorna: Relic Wrangler, supernatural mystery, fairy tales, Tales of the Shadowmen, H.P. Lovecraft, the Robe, Thongor of Lemuria and Return of the Dugpa.
What can I say? This was the fist time we ran out of time and still needed to ask more questions. This is the first guest that we booked his second appearance immediately after wrapping up the first interview. And he's been on three times as guest and a couple times as a guest co-host. I love Micah. We share several unique fandoms. He's a great writer and loves crossovers, and he's just pleasant to chat with. This is the first episode also where I recognize another scheduling pattern that wasn't intentional. Most of our guests have cool accents.

Remember how I said I didn't epect any guests to say yes? Well, at this point, we were booking guests months ahead of time due to our popularity, and so it took us seven weeks to get Micah back on. This was our first and only time we did a movie review. Ivan gave us a review of Dark Water, as part of a network wide cross promotional event.

For those of you who know, I was partly expelled from the Wold Newton community for suggesting that Hannah Montana was in. (I was also expelled for being passionately opinionated and extremely dramatic.) So when I learned that Wold Newton favorite Micah S. Harris, also a friend of our show, was a fan of Liv & Maddie, I had to take the opportunity to get him to talk about Disney Channel shows, just after talking Philip Jose Farmer. Probably one of my favorite moments on the show.

Ben Kasson is the other CEO of 18thWall. (James Bojaciuk being the other other, of course.) When I was in the hospital last year, a last minute thing, we still had a show to put on. Ben graciously stepped in for the two episodes we were recording that evening.
TVCU #30 - John Linwood Grant
TVCU #31 - Guy Adams
Later, when the show underwent it's major cast change-up, Ben came on as a regular co-host, joining James and M.H.
This might be a good point to plug that while the first run of the TVCU podast has concluded, James, M.H. and Ben will be returning soon continuing the podcast under the new title The Raconteur Roundtable. (Ivan and I will also be returning with Random Fandom, but I digress).

September 20, 2016The tables have turned! Now Nicole Petit is the guest, and M.H. Norris helps James Bojaciuk grill her with questions. Everyone talks about the Arthurian Legends, After Avalon, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight's sequel, university award shows, Rudyard Kipling, Just So Stories, dragons and From the Dragon Lord's Library, a historically accurate Victorian era, black magic radio, and just what you should do if you submit a series to 18thWall Productions.
When I presented the idea of these bios to the TVCU Crew, I gave them a short interview questionaire, purely optional. Here are M.H.'s answers:
Name: M.H. Norris
M.H. Norris is the award-winning mystery maven and sci-fi sorceress. Her first novel, Badge City: Notches, earned her the 2016 Pulp Ark New Pulp Award for Best Novella, and her recent All the Petty Myths spin-off, The Whole Art of Detection, took #4 Best Mystery in The 2016 Preditors and Editors Readers’ Poll.
Her short fiction has appeared in The Lemon Herberts and Glass Coin, with forthcoming stories to appear in Speakeasies and Spiritualists and Saucy Robot Stories. She is co-host and co-producer on The Raconteur Roundtable, formerly The Television Crossover Universe Podcast, a popular podcast focused on in-depth, intimate interviews with authors, actors, and other creators. In addition, she is the Television Coordinator for The Time Travel Nexus.
Her all-new mystery series, All the Petty Myths, will begin to appear in early 2017 from 18thWall productions. The first volume will be an anthology focused on mythological mysteries, before segueing into stand-alone novels written entirely by her.
1. My favorite crossover
[image error]
I’d have to say Big Finish Productions’ “All Consuming Fire” where the Seventh Doctor and Ace meet Sherlock Holmes and Watson for a fun adventure. When I first listened to it, I wasn’t sure how The Doctor and Sherlock would get along, but it’s so much fun to listen to because it takes what’s great about both worlds and brings it together for one advneture.

My favorite Easter Egg is something I discovered rather recently, also from Big Finish. Joshua Wansiko wrote the winning story for the first annual Paul Spragg Memorial Competition, “Forever Fallen.” (https://www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/forever-fallen-1589) In the story, there’s a reporter who is briefly mentioned and her name is an anagram for Sarah Jane Smith. I had the privilege of talking with Joshua a bit about his story and when he told me that, I cried.
2. Favorite TVCU Blog Post
For the 50th episode of the TVCU, James, Ben, and I did a look back at our highlight reel. A year is a long time to be airing a podcast and I’d made friends and memories along the way.
Rob turned around and did a blog post about the first 40 episodes (before the giant shift with the podcast) and I had fun seeing it from the perspective of the guy who created the TVCU.
Thanks for letting me on the show, Rob.
3. Favorite Post I’ve Written
I never have actually appeared on the blog. I’ve chimed in my two cents worth now and then but not on an actual blog post. [But M.H. is always welcome to join in and contribute a post, especially about time travel. -- Rob]
4. Favorite Podcast Episode.
Oh, this is a hard one...
I’d have to say the two-parter Nicole Petit and I did together. We’re really close friends and it was a blast to get to spend a couple of hours talking about each other’s work. She’s such a talented writer and editor and I love how she’s starting to get the recognition she deserves and to get to chat with her on the podcast was fun. (https://www.buzzsprout.com/52660/418212-tvcu-41-nicole-petit-strikes-back-18thwall-power-hour-2?client_source=small_player&iframe=true&referrer=https://www.buzzsprout.com/52660.js?player=small)
Plus, when she’s around James is finally outnumbered.
5. My favorite podcast guest.
Can I say two? I’m going to.
Phil Hornshaw and Nick Hurwitch (I’m counting them as one because they were on the same episode). I have loved the book “So You Created A Wormhole: A Time Traveler’s Guide To Time Travel” for ages and when I heard they were coming on the podcast I invited myself right on as a guest host. (https://www.buzzsprout.com/52660/372763-tvcu-20-phil-hornshaw-nick-hurwitch?client_source=small_player&iframe=true&referrer=https://www.buzzsprout.com/52660.js?player=small)
I wasn’t about to miss that.
And it was a blast getting to talk about time travel with fellow nerds. Trust me, that is a subject I can talk about all day and I do, actually, over at the Time Travel Nexus. (http://timetravelnexus.com/author/mhnorris/)
My other one is Guy Adams. I was one of the hosts for his second episode (a scheduling conflict kept me from being on his first one) and it was fascinating listening to him talk about Doctor Who and writing in general and I had a blast with it. (https://www.buzzsprout.com/52660/439728-tvcu-49-guy-adams-talks-about-big-finish-and-chocolate-spread?client_source=small_player&iframe=true&referrer=https://www.buzzsprout.com/52660.js?player=small)
6. My favorite Podcast Discussion.
When the fabulous Tina DeLucia came on and reminded all of us why Classic Who is fabulous. The world needs more reminders about that. (https://www.buzzsprout.com/52660/451242-tvcu-53-small-nerd-talks-about-doctor-who-tina-delucia-the-first-doctor?client_source=small_player&iframe=true&referrer=https://www.buzzsprout.com/52660.js?player=small)
They are a wealth of information about Classic Who and I often go to them for advice or to double check a fact. Also, they wrote a beautiful article on the Nexus about The First Doctor (http://timetravelnexus.com/the-original-and-overlook-you-might-say/) and one about the Second Doctor is due out this week.
7. My favorite interview that I was involved with.
Can I pick two again?
That honor is going to have to go either to Phil Hornshaw and Nick Hurwitch or to Nicole Petit.
Like I said before, the Wormhole Guys were authors I’d admired for a while. Nicole is a dear friend and it was a blast to talk to her.
8. My favorite podcast discussion I was involved in.
Same as six. Tina wins.
I have my own website (https://mhnorris.com). I’m also on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MHNorris4/) and Twitter at @MHNorris4.
One place to find me every week is on 18thWall Productions’ website for my weekly column “If Walls Could Talk” (http://18thwall.com/tag/if-walls-could-talk/) where I give writing advice and general musings week to week.
Keep an eye on 18thWall Productions’ website and Facebook in the next few weeks as my newest book, “All The Petty Myths” is due out soon! This is launching the story of Dr. Rosella Tassoni who I’ve mentioned a few times on the podcast and I’m so excited for y’all to finally get to read the beginning of her adventures.
IN OUR NEXT POST: Ben Kasson!!!
M.H. Norris started off as a guest, coming on the show to talk about her work. It was on that show that she let us know that she wanted to co-host a scheduled episode featuring a pair of her favorite time travelers. Later, when we underwent a drastic cast change up, M.H. became a full-time co-host.
I will continue at this point to discuss some of my favorites of M.H.'s episodes.

The Television Crossover Universe Celebrates CHRIS NIGRO!
We now move from the website contributors to the podcast hosts.
When the Television Crossover Universe podcast was launched, the three original three co-hosts were all website contributors. Thus, the show was hosted by the TVCU Crew. Not longer after, Chris Nigro became the first co-host to have never contributed the the website, and thus the definition of TVCU Crew membership was expanded.
Chris Nigro has been a regular in our discussion forum, and runs several of his own discussion groups and websites. Chris was a guest on our show and a guest co-host shortly after, and people liked him, and we liked him, so he became a regular.
Chris has also written the foreword for Television Crossover Universe: Worlds and Mythology Volume I.
When I presented the idea of these bios to the TVCU Crew, I gave them a short interview questionaire, purely optional. Here are Chris' answers:
1. My favorite crossover remains the one between Universal's Frankenstein Monster and the Wolf Man in Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man , as that was in many ways the beginning point of Universal's shared Monster Universe, and it was hugely inspirational to me from an early age.
2. My favorite TVCU blog is definitely the one dealing with Abbot and Costello, since I really liked the generational theme used to explain the proliferation of such a duo throughout the history of the TVCU.
3. (Not Applicable)
4. My favorite podcast episode was the one where we interviewed Felissa Rose, as she was quite cool and amiable, and we had some really deep and poignant conversations about the iconic nature of her film character Angela Baker and what she represented to the fans of the slasher genre.
TVCU #35 - Felissa Rose
[image error]
5. My favorite podcast guest is hard to determine, since I liked every one of them, but if I had to pick a complete favorite, it has to be a three-way tie between Micah Harris, due to the awesomely deep discussions his work engendered; Matt Dennion, for his unrivaled enthusiasm and the kaiju prose medium he's done so much good work in; and T. Casey Brennan, who is the most uniquely incredible guest one could ever hope for.
TVCU #10 - Matthew Dennion
[image error]
6. My favorite podcast discussion was definitely the one we did on the crossovers in Toho's Godzilla mythos, but then I am quite biased when it comes to that topic :-)
TVCU #33 - Godzilla
[image error]
7. My favorite interview I was involved in was the first time I was interviewed before becoming a guest host, as it was my first such interview and a great honor.
TVCU #3 - Chris Nigro
[image error]
8. My favorite interview I was involved in had to be the one with T. Casey Brennan, as he took us into some awesomely arcane territory we never tread before.
TVCU #42 - I (May Have) Shot the President - T. Casey Brennan
As owner and CEO of Wild Hunt Press, newly established at this writing, he's completed two novels in the super-hero genre, Centurion: Dark Origins and Moonstalker: A Knight in Buffalo, which are currently in the editing stages and due to be released soon. They will be the first in a shared super-hero universe he hopes to build. Also soon to be released as part of Wild Hunt's initial spate of publications will be a pulp fiction/sci-fi adventure novella Replicant and a kaiju novella Dargolla: A Kaiju Nightmare; the former of which will be part of a larger shared pulp hero and monster universe, and the latter of which he plans to be the first of a shared kaiju/sentai universe I'm also trying to build.
Chris has had several short stories published in anthologies from different publishing houses, including stories for the Tales of the Shadowmen annual anthologies from Black Coat Press (volumes 8-12, at this writing), Sirens Call Publications, and Pro Se Press, his most recent for the former being the upcoming horror anthology What Dwells Below; and his most recent for the latter being the recently released pulp action anthology Write to the Cover Vol. 2. He has had short stories and flash fiction published in The Sirens Call bi-monthly eZine.
Chris is also the current curator for the revived MONSTAAH website at http://monstaah.com and the soon-to-be-relaunched website The Godzilla Saga. He has his notoriously opinionated blog located in cyberspace at https://godofthunder85.com/. His Twitter feed is @godofthunder851.

The Television Crossover Universe Celebrates TOBY O'BRIEN!
Toby O'Brien is not a post contributor. But he is a member of the TVCU Crew.

Toby O'Brien has his own website, Inner Toob, also known as the Toobworld Dynamic. His website was one of three that inspired me to present my Television Crossover Universe to the world via this website.
Toby joined In on our Facebook group from the beginning, and was very active in contributing to our discussions. When the TVCU Crew was founded, I decided to name Toby as a founding member of the crew without inviting him to contribute, because he already had his hands full with his own very successful website.
Toby's website has continued to be a extremely useful tool for my own research, and Toby himself continues to provide me with valuable information.

Toby's website also participated in our April Fool's Day Crossover Event from a few years ago. As James, Ivan and I posted about our fictional TVCU counterparts, Toby also posted that day about his fictional Toob World counterpart on his site.
When I presented the idea of these bios to the TVCU Crew, I gave them a short interview questionaire, purely optional. Toby didn't fill one out and return it to me, but if he should in the future, I'll post that here.

The Television Crossover Universe Celebrates BRAD MENGEL!
Brad Mengel was never really an official member of the TVCU Crew, but he was the second guest contributor. He was also the first published author to contribute to our site, and it was an honor to have him contribute. He had wanted to do a Knight Rider crossover post, and it just so happened that I had a website for television crossovers, and James Bojaciuk had just posted his guest blog post on Wonderland. Brad's post came during my first hiatus, after having been posting quite frequently, so it was also nice to have his post during a period of inactivity on the site to keep followers checking in to what was then a fairly new site.

I don't recall when I first became aware of the existence of Matt Hickman. I'm pretty sure he wasn't with us from the beginning. He was just there one day, as if he's always been there.
Matt is extremely knowledgeable on crossovers and the TVCU concept. And when he's not sure what a rule or precedent is, he asks. Matt came on my radar in the discussion groups because he finds all sorts of cool things for me, usually from areas of the TVCU that I'm less familiar with, or in some cases, not at all familiar with. That has made him a valuable asset.
And so, though he wasn't a founding member of the TVCU Crew, he proved time and time again that he belonged on the team, and eventually I came to my senses and added him to the roster.
For some time, Matt was providing me with loads of information which was useful to my own posts. Something Matt Hickman has posted in our Facebook forums has been quoted on nearly every post of this website. Once Matt was added to the official roster, he started by updating many of my posts with new information. He has done so much of this, I couldn't possibly mention them all, but there are two that are worth mentioning.

Matt has made extensive updates to my Married with Children post, so much so that I now would consider it among the collection of his posts.

The other worth mentioning is my original Friday the 13th post. When I updated the post to coincide with the release of the Horror Crossover Encyclopedia, I drastically altered it. Matt managed to save the older version, and reposted it, so that now both versions co-exist on the website.

March 12, 2015, after having been included as a contributor for some time, Matt Hickman surprised us with his first post, focusing on the "Bootleg Universe". This is a series of videos that continued official series, particularly adding some legitimacy by including actors from the original series.
Matt expanded on ideas from his first post on May 27, 2015 with the "Original Marvel Cinematic Universe". In this lengthy, video heavy post, Matt finds a way to connect all the Marvel movies from the era of 2000 - 2007, before Iron Man. After this post, Matt continued to happily surprise me with new posts on a fairly regular basis, with subjects I would have never considered covering, with crossovers I'd never known of, and during a time where the rest of the Crew, including myself, were less actively posting new crossover chronologies.

Though not posted, Matt began a Jurassic Park post shortly after on June 23, 2015. Forgetting that he had started this, I've since posted an inferior Jurassic Park "quickie", but I've invited Matt to incorporate my quickie post into his more extensive post, and I hope he will take me up on that in the future.

On October 3, 2015, Matt started another as-yet unpublished draft, focusing on SyFy original disaster movies, and I'm excited for when that is completed.

July 23, 2016 Matt released a post on Empire City, in what would become a series of fictional city themed posts that continue in the style of James Bojaciuk's Gotham post.

He followed that up on July 26, 2016 with Bay City.

As of October 15, 2016, a new draft has been started to cover Metro City.
On November 23, 2016, Matt gave us our first super-villain spotlight with the Kingpin.
Most recently, on December 27, 2016, Matt presented how many of the classic Disney live action films are connected.
When I presented the idea of these bios to the TVCU Crew, I gave them a short interview questionaire, purely optional. Here are Matt's answers:

The Television Crossover Universe Celebrates Gordon Long!
Gordon Long is the final of the original Crew to discuss. Gordon was a founding member of the TVCU Crew along with Ivan and James.
Like the previous two Crewsies I discussed, I met Gordon Long also in the Wold Newton Family Yahoo group, where Gordon, among other things, was the master of linking fictional characters based on names.
When I created the Crossovers Forum, Gordon was one of the earliest and most active participants, and when the TVCU website was launched, he became one who contributed a lot of ideas and discussion relevant to the TVCU. He really got what the TVCU was about. He gets crossovers and he happens to know a lot about classic TV, in such detail that makes him a great resource for me.
So it was a no-brainer that he was also a founding member of the TVCU Crew when I created the idea. And Gordon enthusiastically jumped on board and wrote some of the most excellent crossover chronologies on this website. Sadly, after a while, Gordon had some challenges with being able to get onto the website in order to keep posting, and so he hasn't posted in a while. But he is still actively involved in our discussion forum and continues to be a resource for me in my research.
I hope that someday Gordon will be able to get back to posting his own chronologies here, as they were always a joy for me to read.
When I presented the idea of these bios to the TVCU Crew, I gave them a short interview questionaire, purely optional. Gordon didn't fill one out and return it to me, but if he should in the future, I'll post that here. But I will continue at this point to discuss some of my favorites of Gordon's posts.

The first post from Gordon Long was on August 2, 2011. The spotlight was on Charlie's Angels, but in what would become a classic Long style, there was so much more to it. Along with Charlie's Angels, the post also focused on T.J. Hooker, SWAT, The Rookies, and others.

On September 25, 2011, Gordon followed up his first post with one of our most unique posts, combining the most odd assortment of series. This post was titled Don't Go Br-Br-Br-Br-Breaking My Heart: Of Groundhogs, Three Strange Men, Particle Accelerators, and Time Bounces. Yes, it's exactly as it sounds and I won't go into the wonderful theories Gordon uses to string together connections between Single White Female, Groundhog Day, 12:01 PM, Will and Grace, The Nanny, Glee, and Star Trek: The Next Generation!
December 25, 2011 was the date Gordon posted my favorite of his posts, a timeline of the Rankin-Bass holiday cartoons. Every Christmas this post's views spike, and this post is vital for my own research for an essay I'm currently working on for Worlds and Mythology II.
Sadly, this was the final post. Gordon gave us three of our best posts, over a short four month span. I really hope that Gordon will someday post again.
