Today, Cyn releases ‘The Mixed Drinks Collection,’ featuring four incredible remixes of her hit single, “Drinks,” from some of the world’s best female producers including MNDR , NERVO , Uffie and Ladyhawke. Also included with the release, a beautiful stripped version of the track. Listen to ‘The Mixed Drinks Collection’ HERE , out now via Unsub Records.
An undeniable hit, “Drinks” is chock-full of Cyn’s trademark sassy, unfiltered lyricism, buoyed by an infectious hook and moody production by collaborators, Ryan Daly and JP Clarke. The song has been steadily climbing Pop Radio charts all over the country, officially entering the Top 40 with adds from some of the country’s most popular radio stations including Z100, WKSC, B96, and KISS Chicago to name a few, with 21 adds last week alone. On the streaming side, Cyn has racked up more than 100 million global career streams to date, with “Drinks” itself garnering more than 5.5 million combined streams globally. Watch the Taylor Fauntleroy-directed music video HERE.
Earlier this week, Idolator debuted the MNDR remix of “Drinks,” proclaiming “a song about the joys of intoxication was always going to be a prime candidate for a club remix and MNDR comes through with a shimmery overhaul.” Speaking about ‘The Mixed Drinks Collection,’ Cyn reveals, “The Mixed Drink Collection is finally here! We’ve got runway vibes, alt-pop vibes, Greek Party till 7 in the morning vibes, and even some sweet acoustic vibes. I am so excited to share this remix bundle with my favorite Cynner babes."
The release of “Drinks” follows “Lonely Gun,” an original song featured on the soundtrack for the Margot Robbie-lead Harley Quinn vehicle, ‘ Birds Of Prey ’ as well as her debut EP, Mood Swing, which is out now, featuring production from Lars Stalfors (Cold War Kids, Cuco, St. Vincent) and Matias Mora, and includes three previously released songs, “Never-ending Summer,” which fuses a skittering beat and lush production with sunburst melodies, hailed by Billboard as a “glittering tune,” with an “infectious melody,” and the EP’s hypnotic and hook-y lead single “ Holy Roller ,” which V Magazine praised for bringing “an unexpected grit to her tender persona,” with Idolator proclaiming it to be “an exemplary showcasing of Cyn's multifaceted approach to pop,” going on to name it one of their ’75 Best Pop Songs’ of 2019, coming in at No. 8. Also on the EP, Cyn's poignant pop ballad, “I’ll Still Have Me,” which PAPER Magazine lauded as a “gorgeous song, sung from the soul…imbued with feeling that lingers.” Listen to “Never-ending Summer” HERE. Also included—four brand-new songs; “ I Can’t Believe ” (currently featured on the soundtrack for Netflix’s To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You ), the heavenly “Angel,” “Bubble Bath,” a quirky, left-of-center jam showcasing Cyn's light and airy vocals dancing over jittery production and “Nobody’s Keeping Score,” a deeply personal gem of a pop ballad.
Stay tuned for more news from Cyn, coming soon.

Molly Tuttle covers The National's "Fake Empire"; covers record out Aug 28
AWARD-WINNING GUITARIST-SONGWRITER UNVEILS ALL-NEW COLLECTION OF STRIKING COVERS RECORDED DURING QUARANTINE
SHIMMERING VERSION OF THE NATIONAL’S “FAKE EMPIRE” OUT NOW
…but I’d rather be with you ARRIVES VIA COMPASS RECORDS ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 28

“I am a huge fan of The National,” Tuttle says. “THE BOXER is probably my favorite album by them. This song has a super cool four-over-three polyrhythm throughout. The piano part is super fun on guitar if you can train your thumb to play in three and your index and middle fingers to play in four!”
LISTEN TO “FAKE EMPIRE”
WATCH “FAKE EMPIRE”
“We created the Fake Empire video by projecting footage of activism in mid 20th century America onto me while I played the song,” Tuttle continues. “We contrasted that footage with forest fires, stars and dreamlike images. We wanted to leave the meaning of the video somewhat up to interpretation, just like the lyrics of the song. Matt Berninger commented that the song is about ‘where you can’t deal with the reality of what’s really going on, so let’s just pretend that the world’s full of bluebirds and ice skating.’ Right now a lot of people in our country are waking up to the realities of police brutality, racism, and bigotry all around us. I hope that people, like myself, who have the privilege to turn a blind eye to these injustices, can maintain this awareness and action to create a better society.”
In March 2020, the Nashville-based Tuttle experienced the devastating tornado that tore through much of East Nashville, followed by the global pandemic. While sheltering at home, she found solace by revisiting favorite songs in an attempt to “remind myself why I love music.” An idea for an album emerged, to be recorded with Los Angeles-based producer Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers, Andrew Bird), despite being over two thousand miles apart.
Tuttle taught herself how to use Pro Tools and then recorded and engineered all of her parts alone at home before sending them to Berg in Los Angeles. The renowned producer enlisted a number of legendary session musicians – including drummer Matt Chamberlain and keyboardist Patrick Warren – to add instrumentation from their respective home studios, with guest vocals contributed by Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith and Old Crow Medicine Show’s Ketch Secor. “This is how the astronauts do it!” Tuttle recalls Berg saying as they sent the files back and forth.
The result is a surprising and inventive collection of songs that cross the musical spectrum and the decades, from iconic artists spanning FKA Twigs to Cat Stevens, Rancid to Karen Dalton, all united by Tuttle’s clear, true voice, astonishing range, and incredible musicianship. With its remarkable scope and adventurous creativity, …but i’d rather be with you presents a further progression of Tuttle’s distinctive talent and musical ambition while hinting towards what is yet to come.
“I have been working on writing for another original album and am still planning to record that this year,” Tuttle says, “but in the meantime I wanted to share these covers that have lifted my spirits, in hopes that you’ll find some much-needed joy as well.”

A virtuosic, award-winning guitarist with a gift for insightful songwriting, Molly Tuttle has garnered worldwide applause for her amazing flatpicking guitar technique and confessional songwriting. Since moving to Nashville in 2015, the native Californian has been welcomed into folk music, bluegrass, Americana, and traditional country communities – even as her own music pushes against the limits of those genres. A series of awards and accolades followed, including two consecutive International Bluegrass Music Awards as “Guitar Player of the Year” – the first female artist to achieve that historic honor.
Crowned “Instrumentalist of the Year” at the 2018 Americana Music Awards on the strength of her acclaimed RISE EP, Tuttle affirmed her signature sound with last year’s boundary-breaking debut album, WHEN YOU’RE READY. Produced by Ryan Hewitt (The Avett Brothers, The Lumineers), the album was hailed by NPR for its “handsomely crafted melodies that gently insinuate themselves into the memory,” noting, “Tuttle applies remarkable precision to her pursuit of clarity. That’s even a central theme of her lyrics: consciously reckoning with indecision or intuition, honestly acknowledging incompatibility, cultivating intimacy based on people seeing each other for who they are.” “The bluegrass virtuoso’s first solo album blends emotional preparedness and long-demonstrated knowhow,” wrote the Wall Street Journal, while American Songwriter raved, “The production, playing and songwriting coalesce into a striking statement that shows an already developed artist well on her way to the next level of her still nascent career.”

LOS ANGELES – Not even a global pandemic can keep The Growlers from debuting the music video for their latest single “Dream World.” Released on May 8, “Dream World” instantly went platinum on Spotify, with appearances on their New Music Friday, All New Indie, and The New Alt playlists, and was branded “A jangly slice of escapism” by Consequence of Sound and “Masterful” by Rolling Stone. Fans can tune into the world video premiere on YouTube tonight, June 25 at 7pm PST / 10 pm EST on the band’s YouTube channel. Additionally, Brooks Nielsen of The Growlers will go live on the official Growlers Instagram at 6:30PM PST direct before the video premiere. This will be his first ever Instagram Live appearance.
Directed by The Growlers’ longtime creative partner Taylor Bonin and starring singer Brooks Nielsen, the video imagines an alternate Southern California universe where the possibility of love is just a dream away. From Malibu to Hollywood to Chinatown (and of course, the beach), Nielsen’s character finds companionship in a world without people – except for one special friend, Heather the Doll, the latest addition to The Growlers’ surreal cast of characters.
“Coronavirus forced us to be creative,” said Nielsen. “We needed to tap into something and make our own dream world. I knew we were gonna get lucky. I’m just a believer in trying, and we had fun filming it together, cracking up but also pulling it off.” Produced by a skeleton crew of Nielsen, Bonin, and their wives Melisa Nielsen and Steph Hulewicz, the “Dream World” video invites us all to embrace the other side, whatever that might be….
About The GrowlersLong synonymous with the seedy, surfy, psychedelic communities of Costa Mesa and Dana Point, CA, The Growlers have evolved into a songwriting and touring force majeure, courting Hollywood and collaborating with producers Julian Casablancas (The Strokes) and Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, The War On Drugs) to make contemporary pop music that plays as well at the dive bar as it does on the dancefloor. Following a string of multimillion-streaming singles – like “City Club” (23m+ Spotify plays), “Night Ride” (27m+) and “Dope on a Rope” (26m+) – the band launched their 2019 Natural Affair World Tour, from three sold-out shows at LA’s legendary Hollywood Palladium, to a month-long run in Australia and Europe.

On the collaboration, Tank says:“‘I’m So Happy I Cry’ to me is about being so overjoyed when change finally comes from living a life of constant fear and survival. It’s the truest testament in believing not only is change gonna come, but it is here.
“Fantastic Negrito always told me that we would make history together. I believed him. Fantastic Negrito from a distance is plain ole weird. But when I met him, I found that he was brilliant in his own way. He believes in unity, self determination, music, community, family and he makes you feel comfortable to be yourself and create timeless music.”
Fantastic Negrito says:“I was really inspired to write ‘I’m So Happy I Cry’ the day after reading of Juice WRLD’s death. There are so many young artists suffering from what I perceive as mental illness. Imagine having everything you want in the world and still feeling the need to medicate until it kills you. There is something very sick -- and tragic -- about that.
“I mention them because this current movie that’s on repeat, I’ve seen it before, I’ve been in it, and I want to speak out. I want to warn them that they are surrounded by people and companies who profit from the destruction of their mind, bodies, souls and ultimately their community. I’m a middle-aged guy. I have small children, so I try to be very careful about what I’m putting out into the universe. If I feel like I have some experience or wisdom on an issue, I try to make a contribution.
“Working with Tank was such a joy,” Negrito adds. “She is a powerful, dynamic artist, and we made a little bit of history together. It was the first time that two Tiny Desk winners collaborated on a song. I think it really gives validation to how important Bob Boilen and the NPR Tiny Desk Contest are. None of this would have happened without them.”
HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND YET? arrives everywhere via Cooking Vinyl and the artist’s own Blackball Universe on Friday, August 14. The album is available for pre-order now, with all pre-orders joined by instant grat downloads of “I’m So Happy I Cry,” as well as the recently released tracks, “How Long?” and “Chocolate Samurai.” The latter track is currently ascending at US radio following a spectacular #PlayAtHome performance on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

In addition, “How Long?” – which brilliantly confronts those behind school shootings, police brutality, and other acts of senseless violence – was recently joined by a starkly powerful companion video, directed by Isaiah Frazier and is streaming now at YouTube.
WATCH “HOW LONG?”
HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND YET? marks Fantastic Negrito’s most far-reaching work thus far, fusing elements of hip-hop, R&B, funk, soul, and rock ‘n roll into an incendiary synthesis all his own. Inspired by and reminiscent of the socio-political albums coming from black America in the late 1960s and into the 70s, the album sees Negrito exploring the struggle and complexities of mental health issues while continuing his long running lyrical examination of America’s increasingly broken social and political state of affairs.
“On the first two albums I wrote about broad topics,” Fantastic Negrito says. “The proliferations of gun violence, the evil NRA, gentrification and homelessness, pharmaceutical companies that prey upon the people. On this album I wanted to write about people I knew, people I grew up with, people whose lives I could personally affect, and whose lives have impacted me. It was the hardest album I’ve ever written.
“What do I want to say to these people, and to the world? If I had the chance, I would tell them the pain they are feeling, the darkness they are going through is temporary – especially if you consider the span of a human life. I would tell them we can’t fight these obstacles alone. We need each other. Get offline. Talk to people. I would tell them I am here for you. We can’t hide from the pain. We need to look right at it. To really look into someone’s eyes is to feel their power and their vulnerability, to feel humanity, and to feel love.”

Flume unveils Claymation video for Jon Hopkins remix of "The Difference" featuring Toro y Moi, remix EP
FLUME UNVEILS CLAYMATION VIDEO FOR JON HOPKINS REMIX OF “THE DIFFERENCE” FEATURING TORO Y MOI
REMIX EP FEATURING HIGH CONTRAST, PICARD BROTHERS, WILLARIS. K
OUT JUNE 26

June 25, 2020—Grammy-winning producer Flume shares a Claymation video for the remix of “The Difference” featuring Toro y Moi from British electronic artist, producer and composer Jon Hopkins today—listen and watch the video here. The rework will be featured on a remix package out tomorrow, June 26, alongside edits from High Contrast, Picard Brothers and Willaris. K.
“The Difference” was the first piece of new music from the Sydney-born, L.A. based artist this year, following several releases last year including “Rushing Back” featuring Vera Blue, “Let You Know” featuring London Grammar and the much-lauded Hi This Is Flume mixtape and visualizer, which was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the Grammy Awards. The release of “The Difference” was accompanied by a Jonathan Zawada-directed video—watch here.
Flume rose to prominence as a teenager with his critically acclaimed debut in 2012. Featuring hits “Holdin On,” “On Top,” “Sleepless” and others, the album amassed global plaudits, becoming a chart-topper in his native Australia. In the two years that followed, Flume established a name as a serious international contender, thanks to his compelling live show (debuting at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds and many others) and skillful remixes of high-profile acts including Lorde and Disclosure.
After a series of well-received collaborations (Lockjaw EP with Chet Faker in 2014 and Some Minds with Andrew Wyatt in 2015), Flume released his second LP, Skin. Launching with the blockbuster hit “Never Be Like You” featuring Kai, the album reinforced Flume’s status as an inventive, boundary pushing producer while simultaneously reaching new audiences around the world. That year, in addition to becoming an A-list BBC Radio 1 artist, Flume sold over 300,000 tickets globally across a sold out 59-date world tour. He achieved platinum and gold accreditation in multiple territories around the world and took home his first Grammy Award for Best/Dance Electronic Album.

Dirty Projectors Release Flight Tower EP, Featuring Felicia Douglass on Lead Vocals

"What do you do with a five-person band when every member is talented enough to be the lead?" - TIME

Today, Dirty Projectors share Flight Tower, the second of five EPs they're releasing on Domino in 2020. Helmed by keyboardist-percussionist Felicia Douglass - with songwriting, production, engineering and mixing from Dave Longstreth - the four songs of Flight Tower deliver a super-future sound both soulful and electronic. Resolute in the mantra that rhythm is a dancer, this is deep new Projectors for deep new times.

"Self Design" is the third video from Flight Tower, following the extraterrestrial "Inner World," and the ecstatic "Lose Your Love." When Dirty Projectors rearranged "Lose Your Love" for a remote performance on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee last week, drummer Mike Johnson translated the track's big buoyant beats to plates and a tea kettle, Dave transposed the pitch-shifted vocal riff to acoustic guitar, and Maia and Kristin seamlessly harmonized with Felicia's "silky smooth delivery" (EW) from separate locations. Watch here: https://smarturl.it/LoseYourLoveSB
Presenting a striking contrast to the yearning folk of the Windows Open EP, Flight Tower"suggests this whole five EP project might turn out to be a pretty interesting exercise in the malleability of one band" (Stereogum). As Time Magazine explains, "What do you do with a five-person band when every member is talented enough to be the lead? Give each artist an EP on which to be the frontperson, of course."
All music was recorded at Ivo Shandor in Los Angeles, documenting "a band entering a new chapter, one we're really excited to follow" (UPROXX). While more details will be announced soon, a limited edition deluxe five-record box set compiling the EPs is now available to pre-order here, with a limited quantity of individual 12" vinyl editions of Windows Open and Flight Tower available at the Domino Mart and local record stores.

Anthrax Salutes Dimebag with New Signature Bourbon, "The Healer"
LOS ANGELES, CA - Thursday, June 25, 2020 - The members of Anthrax do love their bourbon, as evidenced by today's announcement of "The Healer," the band's brand new, high-end, limited edition bourbon, Solera-aged in a King's Barrel, and produced by Hillrock Estate Distillery, situated in New York's Hudson Valley Highlands. With one barrel - 360 bottles - produced of this cask strength, 115.6-proof elixir, "The Healer" is priced at $140, available exclusively online now, and arrives just in time for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday if you place your order right away. Go HERE to order and enjoy your fireworks and barbecue with Anthrax's "The Healer."

Why "The Healer"? Remembers Anthrax's Charlie Benante, "The first time I heard Dimebag refer to booze being a healer was when we were on tour together and I was really sick. He came onto our bus, opened my bunk curtain, gave me a shot of whiskey and said 'booze is the healer.'" Added Scott Ian, "'If we arrived for soundcheck a little hungover, Dimebag would be standing there with a knowing Cheshire Cat smile, a shot of whiskey at the ready and the words 'booze is the healer.' And goddamn if it didn't work. Put us right back on the horse."
Last November, when Anthrax played the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut - the band's final concert before COVID-19 shut everything down - they enjoyed an after-show dinner and tasting of about a half-dozen bourbons, all produced at a variety of New York state distilleries, but the Hillrock Estate's won hands down. "This bourbon got my vote right away," said Frank Bello. "When I took the first sip, the mix of flavors really came out in a big way, and it was obvious to me that this bourbon had to become my new best friend. It was more like a cool smooth vibe that made me pour a second glass. Second glasses are fun." "To my uneducated palate," said Scott, "this high rye content bourbon with notes of toffee, molasses, cinnamon, and mint was incredibly well-balanced. The depth of the flavor was intense. In layman's terms, it's some damn-good hooch!"
"The Healer" is Anthrax's third signature, small-batch bourbon; in 2014, the band debuted "Indians," and the following year, "The Devil You Know." Both limited runs sold out within days of going on sale.
Anthrax - guitarist Scott Ian, drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello, vocalist Joey Belladonna, and lead guitarist Jonathan Donais - are in the thick of writing and rehearsing new music for the band's next release. The new album will follow Anthrax's For All Kings, the critically-acclaimed 11th studio album that became the band's highest-charting debut in two decades when it entered Billboard's Top 200 Album's chart at #9.

ABOUT ANTHRAX:In 2021, Anthrax will celebrate its 40th anniversary, four decades during which time the band has released 11 studio albums, been awarded multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations and a host of other accolades from the media, the music industry and fans. In 1991 the band helped break down race and genre barriers when they collaborated with Public Enemy on the track "Bring The Noise," and was the first metal band to have its music heard on Mars when NASA played " Got The Time" to wake up the Mars Rover in 2012. Along with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth, Anthrax is a card-carrying member of The Big Four, the four bands that defined the speed/thrash/metal genre. Taking advantage of COVID-19's prohibition of concert touring, the band's Charlie Benante, Frank Bello and Scott Ian are already hard at work writing the next Anthrax album. www.Anthrax.com https://www.facebook.com/anthrax

“Probably the biggest and most constant struggle I have in my life is being able to accept love. Watch the band perform the song alongside the Holcombs and Colony House guitarist Scott Mills HERE. Fans who pre-order Out of Body will receive immediate downloads of all four tracks the band has unveiled.
On Out of Body, the platinum-certified trio—Bear Rinehart [vocals, guitar], Seth Bolt [bass, vocals], and Josh Lovelace [keys, vocals]—examine life, family, and friends through a youthful prism. The guys take stock of not only two decades as a band, but also first-time fatherhood and the future over a rich soundtrack of soulful rock with stadium-size scope and poetic intimacy. After spending a week at a beach house in Charleston to gather thoughts and ideas, the trio headed to Nashville, to record alongside producers Cason Cooley and Jeremy Lutito. As they cultivated a team atmosphere, the songs organically came to life.
Out of Body follows 2016’s H A R D L O V E, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Current Album Sales Chart, and featured the gold-certified title track “Hard Love”.

Hear Recent Feature on Little Simz’s “where’s my lighter”

Welcome to the transcendent sounds of multidisciplinary artist Alewya.
Dubbed “this decade’s triple threat” by LOVE Magazine, the autodidact UK-based producer, singer-songwriter and artist released her debut single “Sweating” today via Because London Records, following her recent feature on Little Simz’s track “where’s my lighter.” Hear “Sweating” here: https://alewya.lnk.to/sweating. “Sweating” is sensual, melodic dance music: 2am in a dingy club with entwined bodies, passion and potent intensity. The melodies on “Sweating” are buoyed by future-facing productions, drawing influence from her African roots and UK club culture. The song's sensual melodies implore you to move. For the track, Alewya brought in UK / Ghana-based producer The Busy Twist who makes African-inspired Bass Music that re-joins the dots between Accra and London. The two come together for a fire-fueled fusion of the deepest club rhythms. Alewya notes, “It’s about feeling chemistry with someone but also about a female who is not afraid of her prowess and power. It's a mood.” The hypnotic visuals for the song, directed by Jack Bowden, vibrate with kinetic energy rich with enthralling rhythms and dancers. In it, Alewya is seen on screen in the video spraying a large canvas hinting at her wide-spanning talents which include illustration, sculpture and visual art. The translation of Alewya’s name from Arabic means “most high” or “the highest” so it’s fitting that her music centres around the idea of transcendence. Her music is an accessible space for her and her listeners to connect spiritually. “I want to move people to themself. I want them to feel the same way that I felt when I had a taste of a higher power and felt there was a presence over me. I want people to feel that.”
Both her music and art are deep broodings through euphoria, heartache, melancholy and back again. Alewya is challenging you to remember the last time you really felt connected. And as she finds the connections between disparate worlds, Alewya wants to make you feel, and make you dance.
Alewya is the first new signing to Because London Records - a new era of legendary label London Records now part of the Because Music Group.

DINNER PARTY ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM OUT JULY 10th; LISTEN TO "FREEZE TAG" FEATURING PHOELIX NOW

What is Dinner Party? As the name lends, Dinner Party is authentic connection and camaraderie. Dinner Party is years of friendship, shows, dinners, conversations, laughs and life experience, all converging into one moment. Dinner Party is a metaphor - a group, a project, a spirit, an imprint of time; and also the name of the album. Dinner Party is the musical supergroup of Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington and 9th Wonder and features guest vocals from Phoelix. Dinner Party is the winner's circle; with multiple nominations and awards from the Grammys, Emmys and American Music Prize amongst them. Dinner Party is invite only but it's for everyone. Dinner Party is the legacy of four musicians who have contributed to some of the most important albums and art of the past three decades. Dinner Party is musical evolution in real time, fusing jazz, hip-hop, R&B, funk and soul. Dinner Party is music and art for now. Dinner Party will be released July 10th via Terrace Martin's Sounds of Crenshaw / EMPIRE.
With today's exciting announcement, Dinner Party have shared the first preview of the album with new single," Freeze Tag" featuring Chicago vocalist Phoelix. The silky smooth melody, expert playing and upbeat production are juxtaposed with lyrics about the Black plight against systemic racism and police brutality. Phoelix sings, "They told me put my hands up behind my head/ I think they got the wrong one/ I'm sick and tired of runnin'/ I've been searching where the love went.../ If I move they gonna shoot me dead." As the song speaks to the everyday experience of Black Americans and others around the world, its relevance at the height of the biggest civil rights movement of the 21st century has no limit. The accompanying official video shares footage of the members making the song in the studio -links to watch and listen below.
Dinner Party came together while Martin and Glasper were on the road, touring with Glasper's R+R=NOW, the two originally meeting in 1996 at a jazz band camp. With the idea to meld many of their influences and practices into a new sound, nodding to jazz and soul but ultimately rooted in hip-hop, the idea for the new group was born. Martin called on Washington, a longtime friend that he met in 1992 in a high school jazz band, and seminal beat-maker and producer 9th Wonder to elevate the project musically. With all four as masters of their craft and then some - Martin and Washington on saxophone, Glasper on keys and 9th Wonder doing production, the end result came together as food for the soul. Dinner Party is a family affair - even the cover art was a contribution from Washington's sister, Amani Washington. Almost two years in the making, Martin rented out Chalice studios in Los Angeles at the end of 2019 and the four musicians tirelessly worked on this debut project any chance they got.
Individually, all four have a musical pedigree that demands the accolades they have received. Terrace Martin, a three-time Grammy-nominated artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, featured heavily on Kendrick Lamar's good kid, M.A.A.D. city and To Pimp A Butterfly, along with contributions to recent projects from Travis Scott, Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Herbie Hancock and more. Saxophonist Kamasi Washington was awarded the American Music Prize and Gilles Peterson Worldwide Album of The Year for his critically acclaimed 2015 LP The Epic . DJ and producer 9th Wonder has worked with some of the most influential artists in music, such as Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Drake, Nipsey Hustle, Anderson .Paak and many more. Lastly, seven-time Grammy-nominated producer and pianist Robert Glasper, who has won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album, has been a major force in music for decades, as well as film, including his Grammy win for the soundtrack to Miles Ahead and an Emmy for his contribution to "Letter To The Free" from Ava Duvernay's documentary 13th.
