Album artwork“Samantha Crain is one of the most talented, genuinely inspired artists I've ever come across and to work with her is truly an honor,” Rose says of signing and working with Crain, “[A Small Death is] such a profound and intelligent album, musically and lyrically. She’s poured every inch of herself into her music, into these songs.” Read an interview with Rose and Crain in the New Statesman HERE.The new record finds the Oklahoma-based artist confronting decades of grief, trauma and an incapacitating physical pain which left the singer home in bed and barely able to perform or play an instrument. “I didn’t completely die, but I feel like I died a little bit and that allowed me this new beginning,” Crain explains. “What I was trying to capture with this record, really, was a sense of reconstruction.” A Small Death is the sixth studio LP from Crain, following the release of 2017’s You Had Me At Goodbye. She won two NAMMYs (Native American Music Awards) in 2009, the Indigenous Music Award for Best Rock Album in 2019, and has toured with a range of artists including The Avett Brothers, Neutral Milk Hotel, Brandi Carlile, The Mountain Goats, Josh Ritter, First Aid Kit, Deer Tick and more.
Gillian Welch Confirms Digital Release Of Boots No. 2: The Lost Songs, Vol. 1 On July 31st On Acony Records
BOOTS NO. 2: THE LOST SONGS, VOL. 1 ON JULY 31ST ON ACONY RECORDS
SHARES TWO NEW SONGS , “STRANGE ISABELLA” AND “MIGHTY GOOD BOOK”
BOOTS NO. 2: THE LOST SONGS VOL. 2 & VOL. 3 TO FOLLOW IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS

Gillian Welch also releases the first two songs from the collection, “Strange Isabella” and “Mighty Good Book.” Said the duo about the release, “We stashed these recordings away years ago. Their shortcomings, real or imagined, technical or compositional, no longer seem bothersome today. Hearing them now is like seeing snapshots that captured moments the more formal portraits missed. So here we are hurrying them for release before the next tornado blows the whole shoebox away.” Listen to both songs here.
“These songs disorient you in time because Gillian Welch blends past and present in a way that makes the past, present.” Jedediah Purdy writes in the album’s liner notes. “To listen through Boots 2 is to feel you have gotten thoroughly lost, and maybe drunk or worse, in a landscape of strangers. It is also to feel that, wandering through that landscape, you might actually never have left your house, and it might not matter whether you did or not, since you have become a stranger to yourself. It is like going through weeks when the sun refuses to shine, or maybe your body just refused to go out and meet it, because the sun had become hateful to you. Saying that it feels this way — which it does — risks making this music sound like a bummer. It is not. It is a trip. It is also a joy.” He further expounds, “by making art of an experience that, in life, is usually fraught with inarticulacy and bewilderment, these songs make obscurity vivid, strangeness intimate, dissolution into something solid and alive. Music like this makes broken existence fleetingly whole.”
Boots No. 2: The Lost Songs comes after 2016’s Boots No. 1: The Official Revival Bootleg, a double album of unreleased outtakes, alternate versions, and demos from the making of the seminal 1996 debut album. Pitchfork said of the initial collection, “witnessing gradual transformation can be revelatory, and several early takes lay bare the process of refining Gillian Welch into “Gillian Welch” with staggering clarity,” and NPR Music adds, “the whole thing serves as a tremendous reminder of how and why this partnership came to matter so much.”
Gillian Welch & David Rawlings recently released All The Good Times, a new album of ten acoustic covers recorded at home on a reel-to-reel. The album contains songs by Bob Dylan, John Prine, Elizabeth Cotten, and Norman Blake, as well as new arrangements of traditional songs. Rawlings said of the release: “In the Spring of 2020 Gillian and I dusted off an old tape machine and did some home recording. Sometimes we bumped the microphone, sometimes the tape ran out, but in the end we captured performances of some songs we love. Five are first takes and five took a little more doing, but they all helped pass the time and held our interest in playback enough that we wanted to share them with you. We sincerely hope that you enjoy “ALL THE GOOD TIMES.” The album is available on all formats here.

KIIARA RETURNS WITH “I STILL DO”
MULTI-PLATINUM “PRINCESS OF CHOP POP” MAKES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RETURN
WITH EDGY NEW SINGLE FROM FORTHCOMING DEBUT ALBUM
OFFICIAL VIDEO STREAMING NOW HERE

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
Atlantic recording artist Kiiara has released her highly-anticipated new single “I Still Do” today. The track, available now at all DSPs and streaming services HERE, is set to be included on the multi-platinum songstress’ forthcoming debut album to be released this fall. Speaking about the song, Kiiara says, “’I Still Do’ is about questioning why I have love for someone, despite the situation. The truth is that I just cared and I still do.”
The new single arrives alongside an official video, directed by David Camarena (Ty Dolla $ign, Kehlani, Rich The Kid, KYLE) and streaming now at Kiiara’s official YouTube channel HERE. The moody companion visual introduces Lil Kiiwi, representing Kiiara in the earlier chapter of her career. Flashbacks of Lil Kiiwi are intertwined with Kiiara’s present life, embodying the idea that while Kiiara is more composed and authentic today, she will always have a Lil Kiiwi side to her.
Produced by Jason Evigan (Dua Lipa, Maroon 5, Demi Lovato) and co-written by Justin Tranter (Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga) and Ali Tamposi (Jonas Brothers, Shawn Mendes), “I Still Do” follows the Princess of Chop Pop’s 3x Platinum breakout single “Gold” and last year’s acclaimed singles, “Open My Mouth“ and “Bipolar.”
Hailed by Variety as “another win for the still emerging pop artist,” “Open My Mouth” has earned over 15 million streams worldwide since its release last year. The track garnered praise from numerous media outlets, with Idolator proclaiming it “one of the best pop songs of the summer,” noting the “impossibly catchy chorus, relatable lyrics and endless hooks.” PAPER declared “Open My Mouth” to be “an infectious, breezy tune with a stuttered, insanely catchy chorus.” The track’s official companion video – which features designer Christian Cowan and fashion from his FW19 line along with a special cameo appearance from Austin Mahone – is streaming via YouTube HERE.
Now boasting more than 1.4 billion worldwide streams and counting, Kiiara began writing and performing in her teens, inspired by a diverse range of contemporary pop and electronic forms. The Chicago, IL-based singer-songwriter first dropped “Gold” upon an unsuspecting world in the summer of 2015, earning instant attention for her trademark vocal sampling and gift for indelible hooks. The track proved a global sensation, earning 3x RIAA platinum certification – and over 700 million worldwide streams – en route to the top 5 on Billboard’s “Pop Songs” and the top 15 on the overall “Hot 100.” The single’s companion video was an equivalent success, now with over 106 million individual views at YouTube alone.
Acclaimed by Rolling Stone for “her “minimalist, glitchy anti-pop,” Kiiara celebrated 2016’s breakthrough debut EP, low kii savage, with a wide array of high profile live appearances, including a sold out North American headline tour, a show-stopping performance at Lollapalooza, and network TV debut appearance on an historic episode of NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Kiiara continued to expand her creative palette with such inventive singles as 2017’s “Whippin (Feat. Felix Snow)” and 2018’s “Messy.” What’s more, the chameleon-like artist forwarded her one-of-a-kind sound on a series of high-profile collaborations alongside some of pop, EDM, rock, and hip-hop’s biggest players, including Ty Dolla $ign & Future’s “Darkside (Feat. Kiiara),” Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and David Guetta’s “Complicated (Feat. Kiiara),” Steve Aoki & Nicky Romero’s “Be Somebody (Feat. Kiiara),” and of course, Linkin Park’s 2017 RIAA gold certified smash, “Heavy (Feat. Kiiara).” The latter track saw Kiiara further teaming with her self-proclaimed favorite band for a number of live performances, including an appearance on CBS’s The Late Late Show with James Corden and 2017’s Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington concert event.
Stay tuned for more from Kiiara coming soon.

A visual manifestation of the track’s theme ‘hypercolour,’ the psychedelic video has been directed by Yannis Philippakis along with Kit Monteith, and features Yannis himself. The track has already garnered almost 2 million streams and has received tastemaker support from the likes of Annie Mac (who named the track as her ‘Hottest Record In The World’) as well as Pete Tong, Mista Jam and Nick Grimshaw.
Needing little introduction, from playing chaotic house parties in their home city of Oxford to becoming major festival headliners across Europe, Foals’ trajectory has been remarkable. They’ve earned critical acclaim winning Best Band at the BRIT Awards last year as well as NME and Q Award wins. Not stopping there, the band have also been nominated for an Ivor Novello and have been nominated three times for a Mercury Prize earning fan devotion with anthems such as “My Number,” “Inhaler,” and “The Runner.”
Liverpool duo CamelPhat (Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala) have firmly established themselves as one of the most in-demand dance acts around. Making their mark with their 2017 Grammy nominated hit “Cola,” the duo have continued to release huge hits such as “Breathe,” “Panic Room” with Au/Ra, “Rabbit Hole,”and “Be Someone” alongside Jake Bugg. The pair have been hailed as the ‘hottest dance acts in the world’ and have consistently been supported by industry heavyweights including Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Danny Howard and Pete Tong. The pair are also firm favorites on the festival circuit playing some of the world’s biggest events such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Reading & Leeds, Creamfields, Warehouse Project, and Parklife. This summer the pair were confirmed to headline their own residency every Wednesday at Ushuaia, Ibiza and are set to announce a huge UK headline tour in the next coming weeks.
“Hypercolour” sees two musical powerhouses of the British music scene come together to create what is set to be one of 2020’s biggest crossover hits.

Evangeline Gentle's new video "Sundays" out today ~ debut album coming August 21 + bi-weekly livestreams
NEW VIDEO “SUNDAYS”SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE ON AUGUST 21BI-WEEKLY LIVESTREAM PERFORMANCES

Photo credit: Kristal Jones“Evangeline Gentle’s voice communicates an aching warmth that comes with knowing hardness and choosing softness instead.”—CBC Music“Evangeline Gentle’s self-titled album is a triumph”—Exclaim! July 17, 2020—Evangeline Gentle shares their new video “Sundays” today; check out the track and video HERE. The Scottish-Canadian singer-songwriter is set to release their debut album, Evangeline Gentle , on August 21 via Sonic Unyon. Pre-save the album HERE.“Ethereal memories of a love story come in waves as Evangeline performs to us, unaware of the world revolving around them,” says video director Rob Viscardis. “What emerges is what seems like the origin story of a long-time love, but as images of the two blissful lovers are contrasted with a sudden separation, we are left longing for something that is perhaps too good to be true.”The “Sundays” video follows the recent release of track and live video “Ordinary People,” viewable HERE. The video premiered with Audiofemme, who say, “With Gentle’s voice front and center against acoustic guitar, the song is simple and sweet, as is the video.” Gentle also released two a cappella singles and videos, “You and I” and “Black is the Colour,” both of which may be streamed and shared on multiple platforms HERE. In lieu of their recently cancelled spring and summer tour dates, Gentle has been performing live on Facebook and Instagram every other Thursday at 3PM Eastern; check out their streams HERE and HERE.Gentle began writing their self-titled album, produced by Jim Bryson, at the age of 19. Written during several important coming-of-age moments in Gentle’s life, the record focuses on openheartedness, finding the strength to be vulnerable, and uplifting marginalized voices.Born in Scotland and raised in both Scotland and Canada, Gentle began writing music and performing at 14 years old. Recognizing their own queerness and gender fluidity, Gentle and has long been passionate about both music and social justice.“During the three years I spent writing this LP, I trudged through periods of deep self-doubt, often wondering if I should give up,” Gentle says. “As a child I believed performing was my inevitable fate. Somewhere along the road to adulthood I internalized a lot of messaging about my queerness as something that made me inherently less gifted and valuable as an artist. Each song on this record is a landmark on the journey toward reestablishing my childlike ambition and spirit.”At just 23 years old, Gentle has already earned ample praise for their burgeoning career. They were named Emerging Artist at the 2015 Peterborough Folk Fest, Best Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2015 Wire Awards, and have shared the stage with artists including Basia Bulat, Craig Cardiff, Matt Andersen, Terra Lightfoot, Sam Weber and more. The Aces 'Under My Influence' Album Out Now
UNDER MY INFLUENCE
OUT NOW VIA RED BULL RECORDS

“Between the ethereal harmonies and lead guitarist Katie Henderson's excellent licks, this is the band firing on all cylinders.” – E!(Los Angeles, CA - July 17, 2020) -- Following a slew of critically acclaimed singles, The Aces debut their highly anticipated sophomore album, Under My Influence , out now via Red Bull Records. Spanning across 14 tracks, the long-awaited album is the band’s most vulnerable and authentic project to date, exploring themes of love, sexuality, mental health, friendship, and more, each with The Aces’ signature flair. Co-written by The Aces in addition to serving as executive producers, the band also tapped notable collaborators including Justin Tranter, Jesse Shatkin, Zach Skelton, Mike Green, Kyle Shearer, Christian Medice and more for the project.
“We began writing ‘Under My Influence’ with one thing in mind: if the vulnerability scared us, we were headed in the right direction and we had to keep going,” The Aces explain. “It’s been a journey of growth, healing, love and above all, honesty. Not only with the world, but with ourselves. ‘Under My Influence’ is a rebellion. Creating this album was an opportunity to take everything we’d ever been taught and question it. An opportunity to choose who we wanted to become, unapologetically and on purpose. These songs are our stories. Thank you for listening.”
From the opening chords of their irresistible pop-infused single “Daydream,” Under My Influence is The Aces at their best yet. Unleashing a steadily maturing, unapologetic confidence, The Aces’ second album showcases the band’s sonic evolution and continued exploration as artists. A complex snapshot of their lives, each track on Under My Influence embraces not only where the band has been, but where they’re headed. Whether it’s lamenting on love and loss in a new city on “Lost Angeles,” reminiscing their hometown of Provo, Utah on “801,” delving into the pressures of social media on “My Phone Is Trying To Kill Me,” or exploring gender pronouns in their lyricism for the first time on “Kelly,” Under My Influence is a bold reflection of the band members’ own experiences, told with thoughtful introspection and universal relatability.
Under My Influence Track List:
1. Daydream
2. New Emotion
3. My Phone is Trying to Kill Me
4. Kelly
5. Can You Do
6. All Mean Nothing
7. 801
8. I Can Break Your Heart Too
9. Lost Angeles
10. Not Enough
11. Cruel
12. Thought of You
13. Going Home
14. Zillionaire
About The Aces
It’s been two years since the quartet released their acclaimed debut album, When My Heart Felt Volcanic. In those two years, the band sold out their headline tour, supported 5 Seconds of Summer, and spent countless hours documenting everything in-between in the songs that make up Under My Influence. This isn’t just an album brimming with honesty, it’s an album brimming with trust—trust in themselves, as individuals, as a group, and with their fans.
Under My Influence brings fans deeper into The Aces’ world of funk-tinged romance, heartfelt breakups, and relentless positivity—no matter what’s going on. Together, sisters Cristal and Alisa Ramirez (vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), McKenna Petty (bass), and Katie Henderson (lead guitar/vocals)—all friends since grade school—explore growing up and falling in love in the 21st century with candid honesty and endearing relatability.
With Under My Influence, The Aces push its sound to more buoyant heights, grounded in learned realities. The Aces dropped their lead single, “Daydream,” in March which, upon release, was added to Spotify’s New Music Friday Playlists in over 18 countries. Additionally, the track has garnered over 6.5 million streams to date. They continued their success with the bittersweet “Lost Angeles” when the single was premiered by Zane Lowe on Beats 1. In releasing two more singles, “My Phone Is Trying To Kill Me” and “Kelly,” prior to their sophomore album’s debut, the four singles have amassed over 9.9 million combined streams to date. Where When My Heart Felt Volcanic left off with the hope of a lover returning, Under My Influence finds The Aces standing tall, cheeky, and fantastically independent. When The Aces were just starting out, their website described the group as “a band of four girls preparing to take over the world.” Well, preparation time is over. With Under My Influence, The Aces have officially entered a full-fledged global takeover. No “Daydreaming” needed.

Honoring one of the 20thcentury’s most important musical influences in the world of jazz and popular music, and in conjunction with UMe/Capitol, the Peggy Lee Estate today announces the digital-only release of The Capitol Transcriptions 1946-1949, and the airing of an updated edition of Fever: The Music of Peggy Lee in partnership with American Public Television. During the 1940s, Capitol’s Transcription Library Service produced records exclusively for radio airplay and not commercial sale. From 1946-1949, Peggy Lee, backed mostly by a small jazz group, recorded masters for the Capitol Transcription Library Service. The Capitol Transcriptions 1946-1949 , a 72-track collection, features 55 songs making their worldwide digital debut and includes two Peggy Lee compositions, “Don’t Be So Mean To Baby” and “I Don’t Know Enough About You.” Fever: The Music of Peggy Lee , which originally aired in 2004, has been newly updated for the centennial commemoration. The program also includes commentary by family, friends, and colleagues, including k.d. lang, Quincy Jones, Andy Williams, Nancy Sinatra, Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller, Margaret Whiting, and interviews with Michael Feinstein and Lee’s daughter, Nicki Lee Foster, and her granddaughter, Holly Foster Wells. Three premiums for the Public Television pledge drive include: Something Wonderful: Peggy Lee Sings the Great American Songbook , a new 2-CD set with dozens of never-before-released recordings from Lee’s radio series and featuring performances with guest songwriters Hoagy Carmichael, Matt Dennis, Frank Loesser and Johnny Mercer; and Peggy Lee, Things Are Swingin’: Her Greatest Songs , an exclusive new DVD featuring a color television special from 1967, plus several previously unavailable bonus performances from each decade from 1940-1970, plus a new featurette with Michael Feinstein titled, Singing Peggy’s Praises. This year has already seen the release of Ultimate Peggy Lee , a new 22-track career retrospective that features her hits, five songs she co-wrote, as well as the previously unreleased “Try A Little Tenderness,” which makes its world debut 57 years after it was recorded. This set is among three titles offered during the PBS pledge drive. Also recently released is Peggy Lee Decca Rarities , a 31-song digital-only collection of artistically and commercially successful recordings over her career with Decca Records. Eleven of the featured tracks were co-composed by Lee, among these are seven songs co-written by Lee and Sonny Burke for Disney’s Lady and the Tramp, some of which did not make the final film. Though long associated with Capitol Records, Peggy Lee recorded with Decca for five years (1952-1956). Born Norma Deloris Egstrom in Jamestown, North Dakota, she was christened Peggy Lee in 1937 by a local North Dakota deejay. A 13-time GRAMMY® Award-nominee, Peggy Lee helped redefine what it meant to be a female singer with her captivating voice, which continues to resonate with audiences of all ages. Her compositions and recordings, including “It’s A Good Day,” “I Don’t Know Enough About You” and “I Love Being Here With You,” can be heard today in countless television shows and feature films. Best known for such songs as “Is That All There Is?,” “Fever,” “Why Don’t You Do Right,” and “I’m A Woman,” which made her a jazz and pop legend, she recorded over 50 albums and amassed over 100 chart entries. She won the GRAMMY® for Best Contemporary Vocal Performance for her 1969 hit “Is That All There Is?” In 1995, she received the GRAMMY’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Coined “the female Frank Sinatra” by Tony Bennett, Lee did something few of her male counterparts ever attempted: she wrote songs. As one of the foremothers of the singer-songwriter school, Lee ranks among the most successful female singer-songwriters in the annals of American popular music. Over her remarkable seven-decade career, singer, songwriter and composer Peggy Lee wrote over 250 songs and recorded over 1,100 masters. Her vast and varied catalog of compositions have been covered by Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Diana Krall, Queen Latifah, Barry Manilow, Bette Midler, Janelle Monae, Nina Simone, Regina Spektor and Sarah Vaughan. MORE ABOUT COLOURS. REMIXED. TIME. LOSS.
The remix EP series, which launched earlier this year, has so far included reworks and remixes by Stephen Morris, Russian Linesman, Polly Scattergood, C Duncan and A Certain Ratio of tracks taken from Chapman’s latest album, Colours. Reflect. Time. Loss. (2019, Mute). The acclaimed album, his most ambitious to date, saw the Northampton-based Mercury Prize-nominated artist working with Echo Collective, the renowned Brussels ensemble. In 2019, Chapman embarked on a series of performances that included a sold-out show at the Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room in London.
Chapman expands on the remix series saying, “Colours. Reflect. Time. Loss is very dense and wide-ranging in its use of sounds, and there are so many sonic elements which create the final mixes, so I decided it would be a great idea to open up that palette to some of my favorite artists for them to create remixes of their own. I am very fortunate to have so many brilliant artists involved in this project - some of my childhood (and adulthood!) heroes, as well as artists I have collaborated with before.” He continues, “It has really been amazing for me to hear remixes by artists I love and will continue to collaborate with. I have felt a sense of togetherness in the curating of this project - most welcome in these strange and challenging times.”
